Linda worked as a gluer for Mid America Shoe Company in Cuba for nine years before it closed. She enjoyed growing flowers, loved her cats, shopping at resale shops and antique stores, watching the Wheel of Fortune and yellow butterflies. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Britton; one infant sister, Sherry Britton; other relatives and friends. Glendon “Sonny” Lee Gillam Glendon “Sonny” Lee Gillam of Sullivan, Missouri was born December 10, 1946 at Cherryville, Missouri to Ralph and Eula (Conaway) Gillam and passed away Saturday, August 28, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 63 years. In 1971 at Steelville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Joan Hinch. Sonny worked for Cassen’s Transport and retired from there after 30 years. He was a member of the Teamsters Local #604. He attended the Reedville Baptist Church of the Sullivan area. In his spare time, he always loved to fish, hunt and go bowling. He also enjoyed having a garden and woodworking. He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Gillam. Johanpeter of Cuba was born to Harold and Nora (Connor) Gee on June 25, 1930 in Phoenix, Arizona and passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 80 years. Barbara was united in marriage to Kenneth Earl Johanpeter on July 9, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born. Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, floral arranging, making crafts, St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Nora Gee; husband, Kenneth Earl Johanpeter; other relatives and friends. David Carl Krygiel David Carl Krygiel of Sullivan, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 26, 1945 to Joe and Nell (Bizzle) Krygiel and passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the age of 65 years. He was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area and was self-employed 30 years as a plumber and owned and operated Dave’s Plumbing Service. He honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army and was tasked as a lineman to lay communication lines before the troops landed or infiltrated a certain area. Dave was a member of the 267th Snakemen and attained the rank of Tech Sergeant. On May 5, 1970 he was united in marriage to Joan Weissnenborn who preceded him in death in November of 1995. On January 2, 2008, Dave was married to Tina Record who survives. Dave loved farming and enjoyed gardening and canning, cooking and baking. He was especially fond of fishing and horses. Along with those previously mentioned, he was preceded in death by his father, Joe Krygiel; brothers-in-law, Herman Payne and Bob Blankenship; other relatives and friends. On October 31, 1950 she was united in marriage to John Montgomery in Arkansas. Leona worked for a time at the small arms department of the Defense Plant in St. Louis. She was best known as a music teacher; a job she continued well into her 80’s. Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ethel Jenkerson; husband, John; four brothers, Julius Jenkerson, Jr., George Jenkerson, Luther Jenkerson and Elzie Jenkerson. She is survived by a sister, Velma Frutko of Bourbon, Missouri and a niece, Adrianna Larkin and husband Michael of Troy, Illinois. Because of her father’s active military duty, Beverly was raised in various parts of the country. On August 27, 1971 she was united in marriage to Roland Schatzl and to this marriage two sons were born. Beverly operated a beauty salon for a time but her true vocation in life was that of a dedicated wife and mother. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine. She is survived by her husband, Roland of the family home; two sons, Christopher Schatzl and wife Heather of Sullivan and Anthony Schatzl and wife Charli of Bourbon, Missouri; her father, Bert West of Bourbon, Missouri; one brother, Steve West of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Cindy Kessler of Sullivan, Missouri and Sue Brown of Spring Bluff, Missouri; five grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Louise worked for many years for Brauer Bros. Shoe Factory in Cuba, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed flowers, her cats, playing bingo and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Louise Halfaker; husband, Jake Souders; two sons, Robert and Thomas Hertel; four brothers; three sisters; other relatives and friends. Katherine Marie Wood Katherine Marie Wood of Sullivan formerly of Leasburg was born Wednesday, November 30, 1921 in Crawford County near Bourbon, Missouri to Herman Ernest and Amanda Jane (nee Elliston) Wenzel and passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 1 day. Katherine was united in marriage to Roland Eugene Wood on October 27, 1951 at Salem, Arkansas and to this union three children were born. Katherine attended college in Bolivar, Missouri and graduated with a teaching degree in 1944. Katherine taught school in southern California and then in the Leasburg and Bourbon area for nearly 30 years before retiring. She was known to be a conscience and loving teacher. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, needle work, sewing, quilting, reading her Bible and in her later years playing bingo, pizza and Sonic chocolate shakes. But what she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman E. and Amanda J. Wenzel; husband, Roland E. Wood; son, Joseph E. Wood; brother, Ernest James Wenzel; sister, Margaret White and other relatives and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K.
