Linda Lou Britton

Linda Lou Britton of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, March 4, 1947 at
Owensville, Missouri to Ernest Alonzo and Georgia Helen Elizabeth (nee
Beaman) Britton and passed away Friday, September 03, 2010 at Cuba,
Missouri at the age of 63 years, 5 months and 30 days.
Linda worked as a gluer for Mid America Shoe Company in Cuba for nine
years before it closed. She enjoyed growing flowers, loved her cats,
shopping at resale shops and antique stores, watching the Wheel of
Fortune and yellow butterflies.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Helen Britton; one
infant sister, Sherry Britton; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by 12 brothers and sisters, Judy McGuire of Rolla,
Missouri, Carol Sue and husband Leroy Crider of Cuba, Missouri, Denver and
wife Barbara Britton of Rolla, Missouri, Peggy and husband Jack Hardin of
Meta, Missouri, Dallas and wife Sharon Britton of Cuba, Missouri, Nancy Baez
of Camdenton, Missouri, Ray Britton of Cuba, Missouri, Doug and wife Vicki
Britton of Cuba, Missouri, Terry Britton of Cuba, Missouri, Larry Britton
of Troy, Ohio, Karen King of Cuba, Missouri and Garnet and wife Crystal
Britton of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, September 5, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Sept 6, 2010 at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special
music was “In The Arms of an Angel,” “When I Get to Where I’m Going” and
“In the Garden.”
Prayers and interment followed at the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.



Glendon “Sonny” Lee Gillam

Glendon “Sonny” Lee Gillam of Sullivan, Missouri was born December 10, 1946
at Cherryville, Missouri to Ralph and Eula (Conaway) Gillam and passed away
Saturday, August 28, 2010 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 63 years.
In 1971 at Steelville, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Joan Hinch.
Sonny worked for Cassen’s Transport and retired from there after 30 years.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local #604.
He attended the Reedville Baptist Church of the Sullivan area.
In his spare time, he always loved to fish, hunt and go bowling. He also
enjoyed having a garden and woodworking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Gillam.
He is survived by his mother, Eula Conaway of Sullivan, Missouri; his wife,
Joan of Sullivan, Missouri; one daughter, Sheryl Elfrank of Sullivan,
Missouri; two sons, Preston Gillam of Wisconsin and Rodney Bittle of
Jefferson City, Missouri; two grandchildren, Devin Elfrank and Nicole
Ryberg; one great grandson, Aidan Ryberg; one brother, Junior Gillam and
wife Carol of Sullivan, Missouri; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clinton
and Imogene Hinch of Sullivan, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Janet Hopkins
of Cedar Hill, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Barry Hinch and wife Judy of
St. Clair, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 4:30-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Bob
Knight officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” and “I Can Only
Imagine” was played and sang by Rev. Dan Calkins. Other music of “Love, Me”
was also played. Two special poems were read by friend, Cindy Negretti and
written by a niece, Heather Welchel and the other was read by Gwen
Christopher.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Freeman Cemetery at Cherryville,
Missouri.
Casket bearers were Rodney Bittle, Sonny Wildeisen, Barry Hinch, Patrick
Negretti, Devin Elfrank, Daniel West and James Ransom.

Steelville, Missouri.



Barbara J. Johanpeter

Barbara J. Johanpeter of Cuba was born to Harold and Nora (Connor) Gee on
June 25, 1930 in Phoenix, Arizona and passed away Thursday, September 2, 2010
in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
Barbara was united in marriage to Kenneth Earl Johanpeter on July 9, 1949 in
St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two daughters were born.
Barbara was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, floral arranging, making
crafts, St. Louis Cardinals and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Nora Gee; husband,
Kenneth Earl Johanpeter; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by two daughters, Debbie and husband Russ Gassmann of Cuba,
Missouri and Terry Walsh of Cuba, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jake and wife
Kerry Gassmann of Cuba, Missouri and Jessie Gassmann and fiancé Rob Leonard
of Nixa, Missouri; three great grandchildren, Taylor, Kloe and Lilly; one
sister, Charlotte and husband Richard Pauley of Cuba, Missouri; two nephews,
Michael and Rick Pauley; two great-nieces, Samantha and Caitlyn; one great-
nephew, Max; caregiver, Terry Scott; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was held on Wednesday,
September 8, 2010 at 11 a.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Interment followed at the Kinder Cemetery.

David Carl Krygiel

David Carl Krygiel of Sullivan, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on
May 26, 1945 to Joe and Nell (Bizzle) Krygiel and passed away on Saturday,
August 28, 2010 at the age of 65 years.
He was a life-long resident of the Sullivan area and was self-employed 30
years as a plumber and owned and operated Dave’s Plumbing Service. He
honorably served his country during the Vietnam War with the U.S. Army and
was tasked as a lineman to lay communication lines before the troops landed
or infiltrated a certain area. Dave was a member of the 267th Snakemen and
attained the rank of Tech Sergeant.
On May 5, 1970 he was united in marriage to Joan Weissnenborn who preceded
him in death in November of 1995.
On January 2, 2008, Dave was married to Tina Record who survives.
Dave loved farming and enjoyed gardening and canning, cooking and baking.
He was especially fond of fishing and horses.
Along with those previously mentioned, he was preceded in death by his
father, Joe Krygiel; brothers-in-law, Herman Payne and Bob Blankenship;
other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife Tina of the family home; four children, Amy Boren
and husband Curt of Sullivan, Missouri, Matt Krygiel and wife Traci of Cuba,
Missouri, Karen Oliver and husband John of Springfield, Missouri and Laura
Beth Bryan and husband Chief Warrant Officer 3 Kevin Bryan of Ft. Rucker,
Alabama; his mother, Nell Krygiel of Sullivan, Missouri; two brothers, John
Krygiel and wife Paula, Tom Krygiel and wife Michele, all of Sullivan,
Missouri; four sisters, Mary Blankenship, Pauline Payne, Ruth Ann Thompson
and husband Keith and Theresa Hulsey and husband Bob, all of Sullivan,
Missouri; nine grandchildren, Kyle, Amanda, Matthew, Ryan, Audrey, Marshall,
Holden, Drew and Kaleb; brothers and sisters-in-law, Darla and Jim Feese,
Keith and Jerri Record, Billy and Theresa Record; other relatives and many
friends.
Visitation was held from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at the
Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Wednesday, September 1, 2010
from the Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri
with Pastor Mark Smith officiating.
Interment was in the Cave Spring Cemetery.

Missouri.


Leona C. Montgomery

Leona C. Montgomery of Bourbon, Missouri was born on October 21, 1913 in
Washington County, Missouri to Julius and Ethel (Pennock) Jenkerson and
passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010 at the age of 96 years.
On October 31, 1950 she was united in marriage to John Montgomery in
Arkansas.
Leona worked for a time at the small arms department of the Defense Plant
in St. Louis. She was best known as a music teacher; a job she continued
well into her 80’s.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, Julius and Ethel Jenkerson;
husband, John; four brothers, Julius Jenkerson, Jr., George Jenkerson,
Luther Jenkerson and Elzie Jenkerson.
She is survived by a sister, Velma Frutko of Bourbon, Missouri and a niece,
Adrianna Larkin and husband Michael of Troy, Illinois.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 1, 2010
from the Bourbon Chapel of the Eaton Funeral with Michael Delashmit
officiating.
Interment was in the Hill Cemetery.

Missouri.


Beverly J. Schatzl

Beverly J. Schatzl of Sullivan, Missouri was born on July 21, 1952 at
Steelville, Missouri to Bert and Maxine (Brewer) West and passed away
Friday, August 27, 2010 at Cuba Manor, Cuba, Missouri at the age of
58 years.
Because of her father’s active military duty, Beverly was raised in
various parts of the country.
On August 27, 1971 she was united in marriage to Roland Schatzl and to
this marriage two sons were born.
Beverly operated a beauty salon for a time but her true vocation in life
was that of a dedicated wife and mother.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Maxine.
She is survived by her husband, Roland of the family home; two sons,
Christopher Schatzl and wife Heather of Sullivan and Anthony Schatzl and
wife Charli of Bourbon, Missouri; her father, Bert West of Bourbon,
Missouri; one brother, Steve West of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Cindy
Kessler of Sullivan, Missouri and Sue Brown of Spring Bluff, Missouri;
five grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 31, 2010 from the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
There was no funeral service.
Arrangements under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.


Louise Elizabeth Souders

Louise Elizabeth Souders a longtime resident of Crawford County was born
on April 9, 1914 in Madison, Illinois to Charlie and Louise (King) Halfaker
and passed away Saturday, September 4, 2010 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of
96 years.
Louise worked for many years for Brauer Bros. Shoe Factory in Cuba, Missouri.
In her spare time she enjoyed flowers, her cats, playing bingo and spending
time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Louise Halfaker;
husband, Jake Souders; two sons, Robert and Thomas Hertel; four brothers;
three sisters; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley and husband Jerry Bayless of Rolla,
Missouri; daughter-in-law, Carol Hertel of Bourbon, Missouri; five
grandchildren, David and wife Sally Bayless of Athens, Ohio, Jennie Bayless
of Rolla, Missouri, Theodore and wife Janet Hertel of Manchester, Missouri,
Timothy and wife Shannyn Hertel of Bourbon, Missouri, Cynthia and husband
Francisco Cubas of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Private services were held.

Katherine Marie Wood

Katherine Marie Wood of Sullivan formerly of Leasburg was born Wednesday,
November 30, 1921 in Crawford County near Bourbon, Missouri to Herman Ernest
and Amanda Jane (nee Elliston) Wenzel and passed away Wednesday,
September 1, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 88 years, 9 months
and 1 day.
Katherine was united in marriage to Roland Eugene Wood on October 27, 1951
at Salem, Arkansas and to this union three children were born.
Katherine attended college in Bolivar, Missouri and graduated with a
teaching degree in 1944. Katherine taught school in southern California and
then in the Leasburg and Bourbon area for nearly 30 years before retiring.
She was known to be a conscience and loving teacher. In her spare time she
enjoyed gardening, needle work, sewing, quilting, reading her Bible and in
her later years playing bingo, pizza and Sonic chocolate shakes. But what
she enjoyed most was spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman E. and Amanda J. Wenzel;
husband, Roland E. Wood; son, Joseph E. Wood; brother, Ernest James Wenzel;
sister, Margaret White and other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Sandra K. Paul of Sullivan, Missouri; son,
Clifford and wife Wendy Wood of St. James, Missouri; brother, Kenneth Wenzel
of Leasburg, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Wood of Stanton, Missouri;
nine grandchildren, Evan and wife Aleta Paul, Kristi Wood, Brittany Wood,
Courtney and husband Sgt Jason Moore, Jeffrey Wood, Michelle Wood, Chuck
Watson, Shawn Watson and Hannah Watson; four great grandchildren, Ariana
Paul, Mackenzie Gardner, Chuck Watson, Jr. and Emma Marie Watson; other
relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation was held Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from noon until
1 p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with the Rev. Scott Perry
officiating. Special music will be “I Will Pilot Thee” and “Just a Closer
Walk with Thee.”

Missouri.
