She married Robert A. Bethune on November 12, 1982 in Steelville, Missouri. Brenda enjoyed collecting knickknacks, especially eagles. Her main hobby in life was the interests of her children and grandchildren, whether it was rehearsing lines in a play, helping with art work, bee keeping, low riders, T-ball, karate or playing dress-up. She enjoyed watching football and was a lifelong Pittsburg Steelers fan. She was a proud military wife, traveled and lived with her husband Robert wherever he was stationed in his 20 year military career. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Beasley; grandparents, Ora and Florence Carwile; parents-in-law, Warren and Betty Bethune; sister, Debra Carwile; and very special aunt and uncle, Jewell and Junior Birkmann. Dorothy Louise Brown Dorothy Louise Brown, originally from St. James Missouri, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 25t 1941 to Frieda Bertha "Barneko" and Samuel Ray and passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 79 years. She lived in many places, making many friendships along the way and traveled to some destinations that she remembered fondly. Her upbringing instilled a work ethic that served her well over the years. She was always ready to lend a hand and it gave her a natural sense of entrepreneurial ship where she opened several successful restaurants. She loved to garden, cook, take pictures and keep her home meticulous. She also stayed current with technology. She was most recently a resident of Edwards, Missouri and enjoyed the area. Dorothy also had a love for dogs and had many throughout her life. Dorothy was also of Lutheran faith. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Margaret Simily Ray; mother, Frieda Bertha Barneko; and father, Samuel Ray. She is survived by her husband, JR Brown; children, Betty Depue, John Barnes, Cloyd Barnes and Joe Barnes; 10 grandchildren; five step children.; other relatives and friends. Phyllis Ann Cassium Phyllis Ann (Jarrett) Cassium was born on October 12, 1955 in Riverside, California to Martha Dennis and passed away on August 5, 2020 at the age of 64 years. Phyllis graduated from Pattonville High School and was a devoted and loving mother. Phyllis found solace and purpose in her life through her Christian beliefs. Phyllis touched many in her life and was loved dearly by those who were close to her. She will be forever loved and remembered for her loving heart as well as the sacrifices that she made for her children She was preceded in death by her mother, Martha Dennis. She is survived by her brother and sister, Steve Jarrett of Panama City Beach, Florida and Judy Cooley and husband Jim of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Jason Krahl of Austin, Texas and Travis Krahl of Alton, Illinois; seven nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. No services are planned. Roy L. "Vernie" Damron Roy L. "Vernie" Damron of Sullivan, Missouri was born in Illinois, on October 23, 1939 to Charles Frances and Velta Irene (Burlison) Damron and passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at the age of 80 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corp. After his honorable discharge, Roy worked in the construction industry and as a mechanic. He then worked for the former Chrysler Corporation in Fenton, Missouri for 23 years, retiring in 1992. Roy married Dawn Rae Helferstay on June 21, 1996 in Union, Missouri. They were blessed with 24 years of marriage together. Roy was a man who would help anyone in need. He was also a lifelong learner, researcher and read up on many different subjects. He was especially interested in information concerning his health. Roy enjoyed tinkering with anything and could always be found working on a car. In his younger days he enjoyed hunting and fishing and was on both pool and bowling leagues. Roy attended the Full Gospel Assembly of God in Sullivan, Missouri. Anna Grace Eaton Anna Grace Eaton was born in Keysville, Missouri on Saturday, May 25, 1935 to Harry and Missouri Marie (Marler) Eaton and passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 85 years, 3 months and 2 days. Anna lived in Crawford County all her life. She worked at Brown Shoe Company on the production line for 25 years. She retired when the company shut down. She was very much a homebody. She was appointed as the family photographer when they gathered together. In her early years, she liked to garden and can fruits and vegetables. Anna's main hobby was quilting. She loved showing her patterns to her family and friends. She also liked making rugs out of t-shirts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Missouri Eaton; brother, Glendal W. Eaton; and sister-in-law, Sharon Eaton. Loyd Eugene "Gene" Mahurin Loyd Eugene "Gene" Mahurin of Cuba, Missouri was born on October 7, 1946 in Dent County, Missouri to James Lawrence and Eula (Callahan) Mahurin and passed away on Sunday, August 30, 2020 at the age of 73 years. Gene married Sharon Webster on April 10, 1971 in St. James, Missouri. Gene honorably served his country in the United States Army from January 7, 1966 to October 10, 1967, during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the Expert Rifle Badge, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and National Defense Service Medal. Gene retired in 2009 from Meramec Industries in Sullivan, Missouri, after 28 years of dedicated service. He was a member of the Leasburg Assembly of God Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, fixing cars, watching westerns and reality shows on TV. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Lawrence and Eula Mahurin; one daughter, Lora Jean Collins; two sisters, Beedia Precord and Wilma Mahurin; four brothers, James "Junior", Bill, Elmer "Red" and Jerry Mahurin; and father-in-law, George Webster. Beth Ann Mayes Beth Ann Mayes of St. James, Missouri was born September 13, 1961 in Rolla, Missouri to Emory and Shirley (Owens) Hicks and passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 58 years. Beth was raised by her step mother, Sharon Hicks and father, Emory. On August 18, 1979 at the Flag Springs Church in St. James, Missouri she married Kevin Mayes. Beth loved the excitement of a rodeo and enjoyed watching a Bull Bash to see how long a rider could stay on a bull. Beth never passed up a yard sale and she was known by her first name at the Caring Center because she was there so often. Beth had a loving and helping nature about her and it showed in her years of countless hours working with victims of domestic violence. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Emory and Shirley Hicks; son-in-law, Brandon Amlong; two brothers, Terry and Duke Hicks; and granddaughter, Lydia.
