MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 10, 2003 Helen Olga Dunham Helen Olga Dunham nee Ladreiter of Cuba, Missouri was born on July 18, 1909 at New Wells, Missouri to the union of Albert Ladreiter and Hulda Wunderlick Ladreiter and passed away on September 2, 2003 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center of Rolla, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 1 month and 14 days. On June 30, 1935 Helen was united in marriage to Robert F. Dunham, Sr. in St. Louis, Missouri. One son, Robert Jr. was born to this union. They moved to the Cuba area in 1945. Robert and Helen were happily married until Robert preceded her in death on August 27, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Arthur and Clarence Ladreiter. Helen was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Cuba, Missouri. She devoted her life to taking care of her family. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving son Robert F. Dunham, Jr. and wife Leona; one grandson Robert J. Dunham; one sister Irene Schuessler; other relatives and friends. Helen was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Helen Olga Dunham nee Ladreiter was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral services were held on Friday, September 5, 2003 at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Roger Schnakenberg officiating. Interment was in the Skaggs Cemetery, rural Steelville, Missouri. All arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Laura Jackson Laura H. Jackson, of Bland, died Saturday, August 23, 2003, at the Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City. She was 90 years old. She was born August 27, 1912, in Natchitoches, Louisiana, a daughter of Christopher C. and Henrietta Keeton Harper. She married Robin Jackson in 1942, in New York, and he preceded her in death. Mrs. Jackson is survived by one daughter, Charletta Leverette and her husband Jim, of Cuba, Missouri and one sister, Mildred Grizzle of Shreveport, La. In addition to her husband Robin, she was also preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Harper. She had been employed as a dental technician. Mrs. Jackson was cremated. No services were held. Arrangements were made under the direction of Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville. Robert Brandon Kerrington Jones Robert Brandon Kerrington Jones of Davisville, Missouri was born Saturday, November 6, 1982 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, near Steelville, Missouri as the result of an automobile accident at the age of 20 years, 9 months, and 21 days. Dear son of Bill Jones of Ironton, Mo., Sharon (Jenkins) Jones of Springfield, Illinois, Michael and Karen Green of Davisville, Mo., and Susan Green of Kansas City, Mo.; dear grandson of Corbett and Betty Green of Davisville, Mo. Lee Roy Kemp of Bixby, Mo. and Bobby Kemp of Ironton, Mo. Dear brother of Billy Jones of North Carolina, Chris Jones and wife Sam of Georgia, Lee Michael Green of Viburnum, Mo., Mary Jones of Doe Run, Mo. and Mary Green of Kansas City, Mo.; nieces, nephews, cousins, and many good friends. Robert was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mary and Lex Jones, Mary Alice Chappel, and Leonard Russell Jenkins. Robert graduated from Viburnum High School in 2001 and was active in sports. He holds the school record for the long jump in track. He was a trumpet player in the band and participated in the state band competition. He also played basketball and his team went to conference finals. Robert accepted the Lord several years ago and attended the Boss Assembly of God Church in Boss, Mo. He was currently employed by Garrison's Campground Resort in Steelville, Mo. and was preparing to go to college. He enjoyed life and loved hanging out with his friends. Robert will be sadly missed and remembered always by his family and many friends. The family received friends from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, August 29, 2003 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. and from 11 a.m. until time of service at the Boss Assembly of God Church in Boss, Mo. Funeral services were held at the Boss Assembly of God Church at 1 p.m. Saturday, August 30, 2003, with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Tara Chandler sang "Wind Beneath My Wings" and shared some memories of Robert. The CD of "Say It Isn't So" by the Weezers was played. Bri Clements recited a poem on Friendship. Those serving as pallbearers were Jared Jones, Kevin Hedrick, Nick Hedrick, Ashley Kirkwood, Jeff Autrey, and Scott Gilliam. Honorary pallbearers were Billy Wayne Jones, Chris Jones, Nick Sutherland, Stephen Sutherland and Lee Michael Green. Interment was in the Boss Cemetery in Boss, Mo. All arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Mo. Edwin Charles Prickett Edwin Charles Prickett of Rolla, Missouri was born on February 14, 1947 at Waynesville, Missouri to the union of Hiram Jefferson Prickett and Sarah Ellen Carey and passed away suddenly on September 3, 2003 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 56 years, 6 months and 19 days. Edwin was preceded in death by his father Hiram Jefferson Prickett and one brother Vernon Eugene Prickett. Edwin served in the Navy of the United States of America from 1966-1976. He was a First Class Petty Officer. Those who survive to mourn his passing from this life are his loving mother Sarah E. Prickett; two brothers Ralph Prickett and wife Susie and Jack Markley and wife Sandra; one sister Sarah Robinson and husband Tim; nieces; other relatives and friends. Edwin was a loving son, brother, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Kathy Lee Sanazaro Kathy Lee Sanazaro nee Fredrick of Cuba, Missouri was born on February 21, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Donald Fredrick, Sr. and Betty (Bell) Fredrick and passed away suddenly on August 27, 2003 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 44 years, 6 months and 6 days. On March 1, 1980 Kathy was united in marriage to Andy Sanazaro, Jr. at Holy Cross Catholic Church. They had been happily married for 23 years. Kathy was a member of the Holy Cross Church of Cuba, Missouri and was a PSR teacher at Holy Cross Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and was devoted to taking care of her family. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her loving husband Andy Sanazaro, Jr.; one son, Andy Sanazaro III; three daughters Amy Sanazaro, Erica Sanazaro and Jessie Sumpter and husband Bob. Spreng nee Ward of Shrewsbury, Missouri (formerly Cuba, Missouri) was born on February 19, 1917 in St. James, Missouri to the union of Nelson Ward and Mollie Ward and passed away September 4, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital, Richmond Heights, Missouri at the age of 86 years, 6 months and 15 days. On May 11, 1937 Dorothea was united in marriage to Arnold Spreng in Cuba, Missouri. They were happily married until Arnold preceded Dorothea in death on October 14, 1990. Dorothea was a member of the Cuba Holy Cross Church. She made her home in Cuba for many years until she moved to the St. Louis area to be near her children. Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life are her son, State Representative of District No. 76, Michael J. Spreng; two daughters, Patricia Stangl and Judith Svetanics and husband Neil; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Dorothea was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed. Funeral mass for Dorothea Spreng was held on Saturday, September 6, 2003 at 11 a.m. at Holy Cross Church, Cuba, Missouri with Father James Finder officiating. Interment was in the Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
