MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 12, 2013 Carlton Carl Rhea Bradford Carlton Carl Rhea Bradford of Osage Beach, Missouri was born on Thursday, December 5, 1935 at Ripley, Tennessee to Carl and Lenora (nee Helton) Bradford and passed away Thursday, September 5, 2013 at O'Fallon, Missouri at the age of 77 years and 9 months. Carl was united in marriage to Dolores Wuertenberg at St. Johns, Missouri on February 15, 1958 and to this union four children were born. Carl honorably served in the National Guard from 1956 until 1962. He retired in 1992 from McDonnell Douglas after 36 years of dedicated service as an E&R Mechanic. Carl had been an auxiliary police officer and a volunteer firefighter for O'Fallon. They were former members of Assumption Catholic Church of O'Fallon, before moving to Osage Beach in 1992. After moving to the lake they became member of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church were Carl served as a Eucharist Minister. He was a 4th Degree Knight of the Knight of Columbus, in charge of the fish fries, member of the Elks Lodge at the lake, volunteered at the coffee shop located at the Lake Regional Hospital and volunteered at the Hope House at the lake. Carl enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating, traveling, living at the lake and going on cruises. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lenora Bradford; one sister, Peggy Webb; one grandson, Daniel Schwarzen and one great grandson, Hunter Thomeczek. Richard Randolf Busby Richard Randolf Busby of St. James, Missouri was born March 6, 1944 in Luka, Mississippi to Adolph and Pearl (Schutznik) Busby and passed away June 23, 2013 at the age of 69 years, 3 months and 17 days. Richard loved life and it was evident from the life he led, he had a full life and enjoyed it everyday. He loved the outdoors and everything that went along with it. When Richard was in his early 20's he backpacked his way through Europe. He later hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. But it was the rivers and scenic beauty that brought Richard to Missouri. He enjoyed gardening, playing cards, and music particularly jazz and the blues. He had a unique and wonderful sense of humor. It was Richard that coined the phrase “Swalle Vou- Swalle Vante” which to him meant “what will be will be, and farewell.” He is survived by his daughters, Colleen Busby and Monica Sanchez; girlfriend, Jacqueline Rolett; nephews, Jeff and Daryl Busby; grandson, Myles Casteal. Georgia Alice Johnston Clover Georgia Alice Johnston Clover nee Earney of Steelville, Missouri was born on Friday, December 12, 1919 in Cherry Valley, Missouri to Horace Sims and Clara Virginia May Earney and passed away on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 27 days. Georgia married Willard C. Johnston on February 14, 1941 and to this union one son was born. After his passing, she later married John F. Clover on December 7, 1947 and to this union two daughters were born. Georgia first taught in the Headstart program in Cherryville, Missouri then earned her CNA and CMT license. She worked at Gibbs Care Center and retired in 1977. She later volunteered over 1000 hours at Steelville Schools and they hired her as the school nurse. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri and Ladies VFW Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and mowing grass. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Clara Earney; husbands, Willard C. Johnston and John Clover; son, Willard C. On December 24, 1955, she was united in marriage to Dillard Fenley who preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. Annette's passion was her family, church and flowers. She was most happy with her hands in the dirt caring for several hundred varieties of flowers and plants. She shared her horticultural enthusiasm with the St. James Garden Club and with her brothers at the family farm in Fulton, Missouri. Michael graduated from the University of Missouri Rolla with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was co-owner of Egyptian Concrete Company and was highly respected in the engineering field as well as an active member of many professional engineering organizations. He loved fishing, golf and spending time with his family at Bonita Beach in Florida and St. Louis Cardinals baseball. (Hodgkins) Hersey of Peabody, Massachusetts was born in Gloucester, Massachusetts to Horace E. and Ruth E. (Stanley) Hodgkins, Sr. and passed away Friday at home at the age of 91 years. She was the wife of the late Daniel D. Hersey, Jr. She was a resident of Peabody, Massachusetts for the past six years. She previously resided in Gloucester, Massachusetts, Beverly, Massachusetts, Middleton, Massachusetts, Nottingham, New Hampshire and Cuba, Missouri. Madith was a graduate of Gloucester High School and took Nursing Courses at Addison Gilbert Hospital. She was the Assistant Deli Manager for the former Purity Supreme, where she worked for 17 years, retiring in 1986. She previously was an office worker for WG Browns Department Store in Gloucester, Massachusetts. She was a member of the Middleton Congregational Church. Bonnie was united in marriage to Fangie Edward “Jonsie” Jones at Delta, Missouri on November 10, 1946 and to this union two children were born. Growing up in Chaffee, Bonnie graduated from Chaffee High School. She met her husband to be in her hometown. After their wedding, they lived in different parts of Missouri, Arizona and Texas. For many years, she devoted much of her time to the First Christian Church of Rolla and to the community. Bonnie was a very skilled seamstress and a wonderful cook. She and her husband, Jonsie, enjoyed many adventurous road trips visiting family and friends. She also enjoyed old westerns and was an avid reader. Kimmie Farris “Mac” McGinnis Kimmie Farris “Mac” McGinnis of Springfield, Missouri was born Tuesday, October 4, 1955 in Gainesville, Missouri to Leroy and Ovia Marie McGinnis and passed away Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital at the age of 57 years. Mac graduated from Cuba High School in 1973. He graduated from the University of Missouri at Rolla in 1979 with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. While attending UMR Mac served on the St. Patrick's Board, played rugby, was a member of Tech Engine Club, GDI and Society of Manufacturing Engineers. After graduating Mac moved to Kansas City to work as an engineer for Bendix. While in Kansas City Mac met Diana Wineinger; they were married on December 10, 1983 in Jefferson City, Missouri and they had two daughters. In 1996 the family moved to Springfield, Missouri where Mac worked for Reyco-Granning for the last 15 years. Mac loved to travel, read and watch movies. He was a huge KC Chiefs and Kansas State Wildcats football fan. He was an avid scuba diver and racing enthusiast. He was very involved in his daughter's activities and was a lifetime member of the Church of Christ. She passed away on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 29 years. Charly grew up on a farm and loved the outdoor life of hunting, fishing, camping, horseback riding and boating. She never missed a chance to out-fish her companions. She graduated from Christian Center Academy in Troy, Missouri and went on to complete her Associates Degree as a Paralegal from Kaplan University. Charly was a legal secretary for the Armstrong-Teasdale law firm in Clayton, Missouri. She loved to dance, photography and was always taking pictures of her friends and family. Charly always thought of others even in her time of crisis, in her second week at the cancer treatment center, she cut her beautiful long brown hair and donated it to “Locks of Love” Charly accepted the Lord as her Savior when she was in her early teens.
