MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 13, 2007 Karen Faye Coleman Karen Faye Coleman of Steelville, Missouri, was born February 13, 1943 in Butts, Missouri to Owen Leverett and Alta Arabella (Hicks) Coleman and passed away Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Delmar Gardens in Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 64 years. She had been employed as a secretary in Atlantic, Georgia for several years before moving back to Steelville, Missouri to live on the family farm. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Johnny, Keith and Michael. She is survived by five aunts, Gladys Moutray, Nora Lea and Lois Mathews, all of Steelville, Missouri and Ruthene Ele of Illinois and Merle Hicks of Eldorado Springs, Missouri; many cousins and friends. Graveside service was Wednesday, September 5, 2007 at the Liberty Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Rev. Charles E. Hanks Rev. Charles E. Hanks of Bourg, Louisiana formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born on Friday, March 1, 1935 to Henry and Rachel Ogle Hanks. He passed away in Bourg, Louisiana on Friday, August 31, 2007 at the age of 72 years, 5 months and 30 days. Charles married Evelyn Hubert and to this union seven children were born. He was a member of the Emanuel Christian Fellowship Church. He had at one time worked for Fisherman’s Dude Ranch outside of Steelville, Missouri. He also was a licensed minister and preached many revivals. His hobbies were traveling and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers, Leroy, Perry, Carl and Jesse Hanks; sisters, Betsy Hanks and Tresse Hanks. He is survived by his children, Joseph Hanks of Phoenix, Arizona, James (Angie) Hanks of Cherryville, Missouri, John (Angie) Hanks of Steelville, Missouri, Rose Marie (Isidoro) Pacheco of Houma, Louisiana, Rhonda Hanks of St. James, Missouri, Karen (Samuel) Hebert of Houma, Louisiana and Charlotte (Berklen) Boudreaux of Montegut, Louisiana; sister, Sarah Hanks of Houma, Louisiana; 22 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral service was Friday, September 7, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Community Funeral Home in Houma, Louisiana. Graveside service was Monday, September 10, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Dooley Garrison officiating. Sally Wamsley Sally Wamsley, of Rockaway Beach, Missouri, was born on December 12, 1938 to Forrest and Ruth Montgomery in Farmington Missouri and passed away August 29, 2007 at the age of 68 years. Sally moved from Viburnum, Missouri to the Branson, Missouri area over 20 years ago and was Branson’s biggest Music Show fan. She loved going to the shows and also attended several local churches. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers, John Montgomery and Charles Montgomery. She is survived by her daughters, Sonya Kozer and husband Zar, Kimberly Walker and husband Derek, and Cynthia Holesapple and husband Scott; one sister, Alyce Martin of St. Louis, six grandchildren, one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 7 p.m., September 6, 2007, at Faith Assembly of God Church in Forsyth, Missouri. A visitation with family and friends is planned for Saturday, September 15 from 11 a.m.-noon at Taylor Funeral Home in Farmington, Missouri with private burial at Parkview Cemetery in Farmington, Missouri.
