Davault of Cuba, Mo. was born on January 4, 1919 at Vichy, Mo. to the union of William Jacob Davault and Blanche Davault nee Hutchison and passed away on August 31, 2000 at the Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Mo. at the age of 81 years, 7 months and 27 days. On July 29, 1942 he was united in marriage to Iva Grace Cramer at Cuba, Mo. They were happily married until she preceded him in death on April 22, 1980. On January 8, 1989 he was united in marriage to Helen Hoffman Beauchamp at Cuba, Mo. They were happily married until she preceded him in death on February 24, 1993. On September 29, 1941 Raymond entered the Army of the United States of America, served in World War II and was honorably discharged on December 5, 1945. Raymond was an active member of the Cuba First Baptist Church of Cuba, Mo. He was a member of the Delhi Baptist Church from 1988 to 1998. Those who survive to morn his passing from this life are his two brothers William R. Davault and Kenneth Davault and wife Sylvia; two nephews Roger Davault and wife Judy and Aubrey Davault and wife Trisha; one niece Rhonda Davault; great nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends. Raymond was a devoted husband, loving brother, uncle, good friend to all who knew him and will be sadly missed. Raymond W. Davault was in state at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. Funeral services were held on Saturday, September 2, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at the Cuba First Baptist Church, Cuba, Mo. with Rev. Bob Houchins and Rev. Charles Ledbetter officiating. Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Mo. All arrangements were under the direction of the Funeral Home of Cuba, Mo. James D. Springer James D. Springer of Bourbon passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2000 at the age of 82 years. Mr. Springer was born on January 5, 1918 in Sullivan, Mo. to the late Claude Hyde and Ethel Rosa (Williamson) Springer. After graduating from Bourbon High School, he worked for the Salvation Army and then for a dairy farm in the Bourbon area. On April 12, 1939 he was joined in marriage to Bernice Bell in Steelville, Mo., and to this union two daughters were born. Mr. Springer also worked for the Missouri Highway Department, and finally retired after thirteen years with the Pea Ridge Mining Company. He was a lifelong resident of Bourbon, and a member of the First United Methodist Church since 1958. He was a founding member of the Crawford County Coon Hunters Club, and also belonged to the Bourbon Music Club. Mr. Springer was well known for playing the banjo and fiddle, and for building bird houses and dog houses. He enjoyed coon hunting, fishing, and, in his later years, found great pleasure in square dancing. He was known as a generous man who never met a stranger, and was constantly willing to help others. He is survived by two daughters, Nancy Childers and husband, Gary of Judsonia, Arkansas and Mary Jane Carey and husband, Jim of St. James, Mo.; four brothers, Roy Springer and wife, Frances of St. James, Clark Springer and wife, Katie of Sullivan, Paul Springer and wife, Mary of Bourbon, and Gene Springer and wife, Ann of Bourbon; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bernice, on January 8, 1999. Funeral services were conducted at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 4, 2000 from the First united Methodist Church in Bourbon with Pastor Connie Gallagher and Pastor Dianne Cochran officiating. Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery. If desired, contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon in memory of Mr. James D. Springer. All arrangements were under the care of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. James W. Mayberry James W. Mayberry of Sullivan passed away on Friday, September 1, 2000 at the age of 77 years. Mr. Mayberry was born on April 3, 1923 in Goodwater, Mo. to the late Walter Steven and Ida Viola (Denis) Mayberry. After being raised in the Goodwater area, he moved to St. Louis as a young man. In 1946 he enlisted in the United States Army, and honorably served his country during the close of World War II. On March 3, 1946 he was united in marriage to Rosalie R. Pratt in St. Louis. Soon thereafter, Mr. Mayberry went to work as a union truck driver and continued in this field for over 38 years. He was last employed by Gordon Transport from 1960 through 1983. He moved to the Bourbon area in 1970. On September 3, 1983 his wife Rosalie preceded him in death. Five years later Mr. Mayberry remarried by taking Helen (Isgriggs) Pennock as his wife on October 9, 1988. He enjoyed square dancing, camping, traveling, and spending time with his family. He was known as an easy-going man with a great sense of humor who simply loved life and deeply loved people. Mr. Mayberry was a member of the Lions Club and also a retired member of Teamsters Local 600. Most importantly, he surrendered his life to Christ prior to his death. He is survived by his wife, Helen Mayberry of Sullivan; one son, Charles Mayberry and special friend, Beverly Bruggemann of Bourbon; one daughter, Melody Buehrle and husband, Mike of Wildwood, Mo.; three stepsons, Kenneth Lee Pennock and wife, Carol of Roseman, California, Michael Lee Pennock and wife, Pat of Bourbon, and Mark Gregory Pennock and wife, Leigh of Grand Rapids, Michigan; four stepdaughters, Georgia Buff and husband, Larry of Granite Shouls, Texas, Vera Ray and husband, Bill of St. Louis, Rhonda Armstrong and husband, Leroy of Bourbon, and Brenda Dotson and husband, Darrell of Sullivan; three brothers, Victory Mayberry and wife, Peggie of Rochelle, Illinois, Walter Steven Mayberry, Jr. and wife, Mary of Arnold, Mo., and Joy Luke Mayberry and wife, Ophelia of Stillman Valley, Illiniois; one sister, Mary Ann Wood and husband, Walter of Florissant, Mo.; three grandchildren, Natasha Joy Thurmond, Rosalie Ann Mayberry, and Brian James Buehrle; twenty step-grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. In addition to those already listed, Mr. Mayberry was preceded in death by two brothers, Elwin and Melvin Mayberry, and three grandchildren, Kevin and Keith Mayberry and Amanda Buehrle. Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 4, 2000 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Pastor Marvin Ivie officiating. Interment was in Hill Cemetery at Bourbon, Mo. If desired, memorials may be given to the American Cancer Society or to Missouri Baptist Medical Center I.C.U. of St. Louis in memory of Mr. James W. Mayberry. Willie Russell Adams Willie "Bill" Russell Adams was born Sunday, January 27, 1929 to the late Robert and Lottie May Isgriggs Adams in Butts, Mo. and departed this life Sunday, September 3, 2000 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Mo. at the age of 71 years, 7 months and 7 days. Bill was a life long resident of Crawford County. He married Bonnie Carl on March 22, 1952 and to this union two daughters, Rhonda and Judy, were born. Bill married Frances Coleman Halbert in 1966, they had three children, Lila, Rick and William. Bill later married Geneva Harmon Ray on March 7, 1970 and to this union one daughter, Christy, was born. Bill accepted the Lord in 1949 and was baptized into the Fairview Baptist Church at Butts, Mo. Bill loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodcrafting and carpentry work; he had served as a volunteer deputy sheriff under Al Engelbrecht. Bill was a hard worker, he managed the Delano Service Station in Steelville, Mo. for several years, and two years later he and Geneva bought and operated Adams Grocery east of Steelville, Mo. (the former Blunts Store). He also operated several ranches and farms in the past; they were: The St. Louis University Farm east of Steelville, Mo.; The Rollin R-Ranch at Butts, Mo.; and most recently The Chapman Farm east of Steelville, Mo. until his health began failing him. Even then he was going to Randy's Tire Shop and visiting with all the familiar faces that came in for service. Bill always had a story to share about past hunts or experiences. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, his half brother Clarence Ray, and two half sisters Janie Wycoff, and Mary Bryan, his brother-in-laws Harold Greenwalt, and Bill Newman. Those who remain to mourn his passing are his loving wife Geneva of the home, his children Rhonda Mash and husband Joe of Park Hills, Mo.; Judy McCarty of Park Hills, Mo.; Lila Halbert of Dillard, Mo., Rich Halbert and wife Kendra of North Pole, Alaska; William "Buddy" Adams and wife Vickie of Fairbanks, Alaska; Christine Adams-Swyers and husband Cliff of Fannington, Mo.; his stepchildren Brenda Sivert and husband Roger of Delta, Mo.; Carolyn Tomnitz and husband Butch of Rolla, Mo.; Randy Ray and wife Greta, of Steelville, Mo.; and Bobby Ray and wife Rita of Steelville, Mo. His brother Andrew "Jack" Adams and wife Edna of Sullivan, Mo.; his sisters Mildred Greenwalt of Steelville, Mo.; and Ruth Newman of St. Charles, Mo.; his brother-in-law and sisters-in-law Clifton Harmon and wife Lucille of Steelville, Mo.; Venita Humphrey and husband Don of Welsh, Oklahoma; Linda Stoner of Max Creek, Mo.; and Charlotte Whittaker of Stratford, Mo.; 10 grandchildren, 9 step-grandchildren; one step great-grandson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends all who will fondly remember and sadly miss Willie "Bill" Russell Adams. Anna Myrlene Wiest Anna Myrlene Wiest was born Thursday, May 12, 1994, at North Hills, Pennsylvania, to the union of Walter R. Wiest and Phyllis Jean (Cowling) Wiest, and entered eternal life, Saturday, September 2, 2000, at the age of 6 years, 3 month and 20 days. Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her devoted parents, Walter and Phyllis Wiest of Bonnots Mill, Mo.; one sister and three brothers, Shaina E. Wiest, Colin D. Wiest, Walter Manning Wiest, Jason C. Wiest, also of Bonnots Mill, Mo.; loving grandparents, Dr. Walter and Myrlene Wiest of St. George, Utah, Betty Cowling of Troy, Mo., Robert and Gayla Cowling of Dillard, Mo.; aunts, uncles, great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins, other relatives and many friends. Anna Myrlene Wiest lay in state 3:00 - 9:00 Tuesday, September 5, 2000, at the Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Funeral services were held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 8, 2000, in the Britton Chapel with Patriach Walter G. Wiest officiating. Eulogy was given by Barton Wiest and Betty Cowling, Bishop Tincher and Bishop Layton. Musical selections were provided by vocalists Anya Allred, Bobby and Dessy Benesh, Allyson Brown, Jull and Shalna Wiest, and piano accompanist Karen Anderson. Committal prayers and interment were in Sellers Cemetery, Dillard, Mo. Dedication of the grave by Christopher Cowling. Pallbearers were Chris, Colin, Dan, Forest, Jason and Milton Wiest. Kenneth Carr Cooksey Kenneth, a life long resident of Crawford County, died Wednesday, August 30, 2000, at the age of 73 years, 11 months and 7 days, at the home of his sister, Ruth Bell, Affton, Mo. He was born September 23, 1926 to the late William McKinley Cooksey and Carrie Ellen (nee Carr) Cooksey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sister Helen Cooksey, an infant sister, and brother-in-law Joe Bell. Kenneth was a life long farmer. He had a great love for hunting and fishing. He served as a Military policeman in the United States Army during World War II. He was awarded the Asiatic Pacific Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal. He entered into active service February 26, 1945 at Jefferson Barracks, Mo. and received an Honorable Discharge at Fort Sheridan, Illinois, December 5, 1946. He had a Crawford County life membership in the Cuba Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans. Among those he leaves to mourn are is two sisters and brothers-in-law Ruth Bell, and Hester and husband Edward Chrapek of Affton, Mo.; his nieces Judy and husband Jim Moore of Shorewood, Illinois; Brenda and husband Gary Franke of St. Louis, Mo.; Sharon and husband Jeff Hummel and nephew John Griggs and wife Terri, all of Barnhart, Mo. He also leaves great nieces and nephews, Joshua and Janelle Moore, Sarah and Adam Franke, Candice, Carly, Catrina and John Griggs, Jr.; also an aunt, Elsie Carr of Steelville, Mo.; cousins, friends and loved ones. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 2, 2000 in the Britton Chapel with Jim Moore and Gary Franke officiating. Committal prayers and interment were in Carr Cemetery, Cook Station, Mo. Pallbearers were John Griggs, Jeff Hummel, Adam Franke, Kenneth Biggs, Orin Biggs and Gail Biggs. Arrangement's were under the direction of Britton Funeral Home, Steelville, Mo. Norbert William Runtz Norbert William Runtz, Sr., passed away Thursday, September 7, 2000 in his Cuba, Mo. residence at the age of 70 years, 8 months and 25 days. Norbert was born on December 13, 1929 in Alton, Illinois, into the family of Cathryne Cecilia Buckholtz and Nicholas Louis Runtz. Norbert was united in marriage to Dorothy June Sturdevant on October 25, 1952 in Alton, Illinois and to this union four children were born. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict, receiving an honorable discharge. He was a farmer and cattleman. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Kulp, and brothers: George and Lewis Runtz. Norbert is survived by his wife Dorothy Runtz, after 47 years of marriage, of the home in Cuba, Mo.; his three daughters: Belinda and husband Ronald Althage, Katrina and husband Mark Macey, and June and husband Mickey Midgett, all of St. James, Mo.; his son: Norbert William Runtz, Jr., of Rolla, Mo.; three grandchildren: Benjamin Earl Runtz of Jacksonville, IL, Joshua Taylor Midgett and Serena Midgett of St. James, Mo.; his brother Frank Runtz of Alton, IL and extended family, neighbors and friends who will mourn his passing. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, in the Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Father Robert Duesdieker officiating. "When They Ring Those Golden Bells" and "Softly and Tenderly" were offered as musical tributes. A full military burial was held in the St. James Cemetery. All arrangements were under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Mo. Waneta Geneve Rennekamp Waneta Geneve Rennekamp was born May 2, 1933 and departed this life August 30, 2000. She was one of eight children of James Edgar Coffman and Mabel Jane Vance Coffman. She leaves to mourn her passing her son, Ronald Rennekamp and his wife Patty of St. Louis and her daughter, Beverly League and her husband Dennis of Osage Beach; two grandsons and four great-granddaughters of St. Louis. Also surviving are one brother, William E. Coffman of Steelville and three sisters: Mary M. (Betty) Ives Perrigue of Cuba, Mo.; Lorene Davis of Steelville, and Esther Jeffries Enley of Harrisonville, Mo. A service was held at the Kutis Chapel in St. Louis. Interment followed in Sunset Memorial Park beside the grave of her husband, Hany Rennekamp.
