Rocky worked as a carpenter in the local area for several years. He was of the Pentecostal faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Ash; and brother, Kevin Gordon. Rosie Aline Rosie Aline Atchison (nee Pinnell) was born on Saturday, April 18, 1931 in Steelville, Missouri to James Lloyd and Grace Clementine (Coleman) Pinnell and passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 85 years, 4 months and 19 days. She married Ray Atchison on August 18, 1961 at the Presbyterian Church in Steelville, Missouri. She first worked at Steelville Supply Store, and then worked for 45 years as bookkeeper for Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, Missouri. She was an active member of the Presbyterian Church in Steelville, Missouri, where she served as a deacon and helped with bereavement dinners. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, baking goodies especially her famous brownies and cookies, working on the farm and riding with Ray in his side by side. Bill Bell Bill Bell of Steelville, Missouri was born on Saturday, April 23, 1938 in Cherryville, Missouri to Ernest James and Mable Ethel Murry Bell and passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016 at the age of 78 years, 4 months and 11 days. He married Juanita Dunlap on January 5, 1958 in Hernando, Mississippi and to this union two children were born. Bill worked as a logger in the timber industry and as a mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working on all types of machines, re-loading and target shooting, playing the guitar, trail riding on 4 wheelers and driving dune buggies. He was involved in stock car racing at Potosi, Hillsboro, Bismarck and Rolla, winning several races in Rolla, Missouri. Bill accepted the Lord early in life and had attended Cherryville Baptist Church when he was young. Richard Sommer Brueseke of Owensville, Missouri was born on May 4, 1933 in Sandusky, Ohio to Edward and Jolanda (Sommer) Brueseke and passed away on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the age of 83 years, 3 months and 27 days. On June 2, 1956, at St. Marks Episcopal Church in St. Louis, Missouri he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Eldridge. He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ in Owensville, Missouri and the Owensville Lions Club. Rev. Brueseke was an alumni of Eden Seminary. Rev. Brueseke was responsible for the organization of four new congregations in the Missouri Mid-South Conference of the United Church of Christ: St. Philip's Church, Concord Village, Trinity Church of Mexico, Grace Church in O'Fallon, and Prince of Peace Church in South St. Louis County. In addition, he served the Troy-Moscow Mills Charge in Lincoln County from 1958 to 1963. After 14 years at Prince of Peace in 1977, he transferred ministerial standing to the United Reformed Church in the U.K., where he was a member of the Stockport Team Ministry for four years. Returning to the U.S. in 1981, he served Peace United Church of Christ in Waverly, Iowa for 11 years. Rev. Brueseke was pastor of Bem Church from 1993-1999, then served at Ebenezer "Stone" Church from 1999-2009. Delaney of Leasburg, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 3, 2016. John was an avid hunter, train and antique car enthusiast most of his life. A longtime resident of Bel Ridge, John was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Rose Mae. After the passing of his wife, it was John's wish to return to his roots in the country and live out his life quietly in front of the fire reminiscing about a world far less complicated than the one we have today. "Kim" Franke of Rolla, Missouri was born on October 1, 1967 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the age of 48 years. Kim loved being mom and grandma. She enjoyed shopping for clothes and jewelry. She was preceded in death by her mother, Doris Jean (Shoemaker) Williams. Doris Joan Kostedt Doris Joan Kostedt of St. James, Missouri was born on December 28, 1937 at Ladue, Missouri to William Elza and Elizabeth Thomas Lenox and passed away on September 2, 2016 at the age of 78 years 8 months and 5 days. On March 24, 1962 in Clayton, Missouri she was united in marriage to Raymond Richard Kostedt. Doris and Raymond lived a wonder life in St Louis, Missouri. Raymond worked and Doris took care of their home. Doris's life was changed forever when her husband Raymond passed away suddenly on February 17, 1988. After a period of adjustment Doris decided to go to work. She worked at HR Electronics, a coin changer vendor where she worked for over 11 years. She also worked at Bennett Box Manufacturing Company in South St. Louis, Missouri. Raymond and Doris didn't have children so her dogs were her children and she had many in her lifetime. She enjoyed baking for people and family along with sewing Barbie clothing for her nieces. After 40 years of living in St. Louis, Doris decided to move to St. James, Missouri to be closer to family. So in 2006, Doris purchased a home in St. James and continued her love of cooking. She especially loved her friends at the St. James Christian Church. She loved to play Dominos with the girls from the church on Saturday afternoon and share her love of cooking. Doris appreciated all the help help from all her nieces and nephews. She especially appreciated Denise and Kevin Barner and Kim Renner. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Elza and Elizabeth Thomas Lenox; husband, Raymond; four brothers, Maurice, Arthur, Robert and George Lenox; three sisters, Marie McGomery, Helen Bernice Snelson and an infant sister Martha Lenox. Pauline Mae Rains Pauline Mae Rains (nee Ives) was born on Sunday, December 22, 1929 to Everett Fearney and Rose Marguerite (Edgar) Ives and passed away on Monday, September 5, 2016 at the age of 86 years, 8 months and 14 days. Pauline accepted the Lord many years ago and was a faithful member of Center Point Baptist Church where she loved attending until her health prevented it. She married Clyde Hadley in Steelville, Missouri in 1949 and to this union three children were born. She later married George Rains. She worked for 28 years at Gibbs Care Center in the kitchen, and she also babysat for a few years. She liked to sew, listen to gospel music and attend hymn sings. She liked animals, especially cats. She loved people and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Rains; parents, Everett and Rose Ives; infant son, Clyde Errol Hadley, Jr.; brothers, Berton (Mildred) Ives, Dewey (Roberta) Ives, Jim Ives, and Whit "Frankie" Franklin Ives; sisters, Geraldine (Rainey) Parker, Connie (Earl) Prewitt and Rosalie (Richard) Solano. Frank was a retired truck driver for Schnucks Markets in St. Louis, Missouri. He honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Jason Albert Tarnowski Jason Albert Tarnowski of Columbia, Missouri was born June 8, 1987 in Omaha, Nebraska to Stephen and Barbara (Krehbiel) Tarnowski and passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at the age of 29 years. Jason was a graduate of Midland Christian High School. His passion was football. Jason was on the 2004 Midland Christian High School State Championship Football Team where he was named All-State Offensive Lineman 1st Team 1st Selection. After high school Jason attended Quincy University, Quincy, Illinois on a football scholarship where he received his Bachelors of Science in Sports Management in 2009. Jason was employed with Veterans United for the past five years. Before that Jason did a two-year internship with the Midland Rockhounds, a AA affiliate of the Oakland Athletics in Midland, Texas. Jason loved spending time in the weight room, holding the record for bench press at his high school. His favorite sports team was the St. Louis Cardinals. Taylor Sr. of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday, August 15, 1955 in Cahokia, Illinois to Clyde and Lucille Schumer Taylor and passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the age of 61 years and 20 days. Bradley served his country honorably in the United States Marines during the Vietnam War. He was a postmaster for 25 years in Boss, Cherryville and Bourbon, Missouri post offices. He was a member of the Cuba VFW Post #7147. He enjoyed boating, fishing, watching Cardinal ball games, listening to music of the 70's and 80's especially the Beatles and Eagles. "Kay" Voss of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, July 29, 1948 at Jefferson City, Missouri to Virgil and Dorothy (nee Fisher) Bartel and passed away Sunday, September 11, 2016 at the age of 68 years. Kay, as she was known by many, graduated from Business College in May of 1970. On September 26, 1970 Kay married David L. Voss at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Owensville, Missouri and to this union two children were born. Kay was the bookkeeper for Voss Truck Port of Cuba for many years. Kay enjoyed playing the piano, singing, music of all kinds, taking walks and was a devout member of Holy Cross Catholic Church before her health began to decline. At any time you could walk into Kay's office or home and music would be playing. To know Kay was to know that she was a worrier, not about herself, but about everyone else. Kay always had a kind and gentle spirit, never raised her voice or had a bad word to say about anything. She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Bartel; and husband, David L. "Dave" Voss.
