Eugene Franklin Busbey
Eugene Franklin Busbey of Springfield, Missouri was born
on December 6, 1939 in Texas County, Missouri to the union of Cecil
and Nancy (Hayes) Busbey and passed away on Wednesday, September 7,
2005 at his residence at the age of 65 years 9 months and 1 day.
He owned and operated Freight Trucking Co.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Those who survive are his wife Phyllis (Emery) Busbey;
sons Gene Phillip (Elizabeth) and Norman Cecil (Charlene) Busbey;
daughters Pamela Jene and Kerri Jean Busbey; sister Patsy Fullmer;
and seven grandchildren.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 9 at
Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral services were 1 p.m.
at Britton Funeral Home. Interment Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.
Carl E. Carter
Carl Edward Carter of Cuba, Missouri was born on
Wednesday, December 10, 1924 in Paragould, Arkansas to Frank Carter
and Divie F. Pettyjohn Carter. He passed away at his home on Friday,
September 2, 2005 at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 23 days.
Carl served his country honorable in the United States
Army during World War II. He was a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne
division. After the war, he married Mary Jane Todd in St. Louis,
Missouri and to this union four children were born. He was a member
of the Webster Groves Masonic Lodge. Carl moved to Cuba, Missouri
and operated and owned the Cuba Package Liquor Store for more than
20 years. He later married Emma Jean Martin Bass on May 12, 1988 in
Rolla, Missouri.
Carl's hobbies were fishing, gardening, yard work and
especially playing bluegrass and country music on his guitar singing
with Emma Jean and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Mary Jane
Todd Carter; brother Bud Carter; sister Lois Powers; and great
granddaughter Nicole Carter.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife Emma
Jean Carter of the home; sons Carl Dennis Carter and wife Sherry of
Ballwin, Missouri, Billie David Carter and wife Diane Carter of
Mexico, Missouri, Franklin Earl Carter and wife Mary of Valdosta,
Georgia, Nelson Edward Carter and friend Carol Pointer of Cedar
Hill, Missouri.
Brother, Bill Carter and wife Georgia of Jonesboro,
Arkansas; mother-in-law Freida Christina Payne of Cuba, Missouri;
brothers and sisters-in-law Marie Carter of Hillsboro, Missouri,
Earl Todd and wife Mary of Lebanon, Missouri, David Todd of
Barnhart, Missouri, Wanda Crews of Milstadt, Illinois, Billie Jean
Chapman and husband Jim of Cuba, Missouri, Virgil Martin and wife
Mary of Cedar Hill, Missouri.
Nine grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, nieces,
nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 6, 2005 from 6-8 p.m.
at the Hutson Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Masonic services
at 7 p.m.
Funeral services were Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at 11
a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Mark Smith
officiating. Music selections were "Amazing Grace" and "In the
Garden" sung by Traci Krygiel.
Burial with full military honors at Meramec Hills
Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with pallbearers Jason Carter, Steven
Carter, Craig Carter, Tony Carter, David Wild, Melvin Roberts, Wayne
Cunningham and Luke Carter.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Oscar Hertlein
Oscar H. Hertlein, 90, died Wednesday, August 24, 2005
at his home in Owensville, Missouri.
Mr. Hertlein was born October 20, 1914 in Bourbon,
Missouri, to the late Fred and Emma Biller Hertlein. He married
Caroline Kretzman on May 21, 1938 in Clayton, Missouri. He was a
retired truck driver for Middlewest Freightways and a member of
Peace Lutheran Church in Owensville, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by a son, Gerald Hertlein; a
brother Ed Hertlein and a sister, Anna Mae Ackerman.
Surviving him are his wife, Caroline; two sons, Kenneth
Hertlein and wife Elaine of Haughton, Louisiana and Fredrick
Hertlein and wife Barbara of Kevil, Kentucky; two daughters, Joann
Parmentier of Washington, and Mary Foster of Laddonia.
Three sisters, Frances Yeary of Wesco, Missouri, Lorna
Niemiller of Evansville, Indiana and Dorothy Steffen and husband Lee
of North Carolina; 14 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, August 28, 2005 at
the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with burial
following in St. Paul's United Church of Christ Cemetery in Gerald,
Missouri.
Susan Carol Midyett
Susan Carol Midyett nee Boehm of Davisville, Missouri,
was born Sunday, May 30, 1948, at LeMay, Missouri, a daughter of the
late Fritz Boehm and Esther (Batch) Boehm.
She departed this life Sunday, September 4, 2005, in St.
Anthony's Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri, at the age of 57
years, 3 months and 4 days.
On April 8, 1976, Susan was united in marriage to
Lawrence Midyett. They have enjoyed 29 years together.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death
by one brother, Robert Boehm and one sister, Jeanie Boehm;
brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Wilson Dotson, Kenneth Bazzell,
Leonard and Betty Midyett, Johnny Midyett, Lula and Johnny
Brakefield.
Among those who remain to mourn her passing are her
devoted husband, Lawrence Midyett of the home; one daughter Tammy
and husband Rodney Boyer; a stepdaughter Michelle Midyett; four
grandchildren Korey Woods, Kelsy Woods, Jessica Boyer and Amber
Hoffman.
Also remaining are her sisters-in-law and
brothers-in-law Jennette Boehm of Affton, Missouri, Julia Dotson,
Erma and Devound Abney of Viburnum, Missouri, Beulah Midyett of
Fenton, Missouri, Lura Bazzell of House Springs, Missouri, Lovetta
Midyett of Bourbon, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins, other
relatives and friends.
Susan Carol Midyett lay in state 3-8 p.m. Tuesday,
September 6, 2005, at the John Ziegenheins Funeral Home, St. Louis,
Missouri. In state 3-8 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2005, at the
Britton Brothers Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held 1 p.m. Thursday, September 8,
2005 in the Britton Chapel with Rev. Cletis Nichols officiating.
Musical selections were provided by Kevin and Kim Abney.
Committal prayers and interment was in Upper Indian
Creek Cemetery, Viburnum, Missouri. Honoring Susan as pallbearers
were Kevin Abney, Mike Abney, Ronnie Abney, Phillip Boehm, Rodney
Boyer and Korey Woods.
Arrangements were entrusted to the care of Britton
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Walter L. Richardson
Walter L. Richardson, age 75, of O'Fallon, Mo. passed
away Saturday, September 3, 2005 at his residence. He was born on
November 9, 1929 in Stanton, Mo., the son of George S. and Grace
Marie Terry Richardson. Mr. Richardson was employed as a truck
driver for many years working at Western Auto, Baldor Electric, and
the Calloway Nuclear Plant before retirement.
He was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the
O'Fallon Christian Church, the D.A.V. (Disabled American Veterans)
and the Missouri Bluegrass Committee.
On April 30, 1966, he was united in marriage with Carol
Wells in St. Louis, Mo. To this union were born two daughters,
Sherry and Carol.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Carol Wells Richardson
of O'Fallon; two daughters, Sherry (Jason) Hill of Hawk Point, Mo.
and Carol (Rick) Schulte of St. Paul, Mo.; one sister, Mildred Cowan
of Steelville, Mo.; one sister-in-law Susie (Lester) Chapman of
Scott City, Mo.; four grandchildren, Aaron Ziegemeier, Kelsey Hill,
Clinton Schulte and Chase Schulte, and 25 nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters,
and five brothers.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 6, 2005 from 2
to 8 at the O'Fallon Christian Church.
The funeral services were held on Wednesday, September
7, 2005 at 11 a.m. at the O'Fallon Christian Church, 9380 Memorial
Parkway, O'Fallon, Mo. Interment with full military honors was at
St. Charles Memorial Gardens, St. Charles, Mo.

Deloris Ann Sheehan
Deloris Ann Sheehan, nee Green, of Affton, Missouri, was
born on June 15, 1929 in Pacific, Missouri to the union of Joseph
Green and Anna Ray Brown Green and passed away on Thursday,
September 1, 2005 at her daughter's residence in Cuba, Missouri at
the age of 76 years, 2 months and 16 days.
Delores was retired from American Bakery in St. Louis,
Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents and one daughter
Patricia Kimbrel and four brothers, Don, Bob, Ed and John Green.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from life are
three daughters, Deborah and husband Bill Harmon, Sharon and husband
Reggie Gillispi and Barbara Wilhelm; one brother Dick Green; sister
Mary Evans; dear friends Kent and Dorothy Kimbrel and Ray Brown; 12
grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and three great great
grandchildren.
Delores was a wonderful loving mother, grandmother,
sister and good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly missed.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Monday, September 5, 2005
at the Britton Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was
held Monday, September 5 at 8 p.m. at the Britton Funeral Home.
Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Ruby Lucille Ware
Ruby Lucille Ware of Cuba, Missouri was born on October
7, 1925 at St. James, Missouri to the union of William Thomas White
and America Mae Jamerson White and passed away at the Cuba Manor,
Cuba, Missouri on September 11, 2005 at the age of 79 years, 11
months and 4 days.
Ruby is preceded in death by her husband, her parents,
one son Gary Lee Ware, one grandson John Reuben Ware and seven
brothers and sisters.
On October 9, 1943 Ruby was united in marriage to Herman
J. Ware at Steelville, Missouri. Two sons and two daughters were
born to this union.
Those who survive to mourn her passing from this life
are one son Leroy Ware and wife Joanne; two daughters Judy Wymer and
Betty Marz and husband John; 10 grandchildren; eight great
grandchildren, brothers and sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and many friends.
Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great
grandmother, good friend to all who knew her and will be sadly
missed.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 13 from 5 until 8
p.m. at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September
14, at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba.
Interment was in the Meramec Hills Cemetery, rural Cuba.
All arrangements were under the direction of Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba.
Deanna West
Deanna West, 53, of Leasburg, Missouri went home to be
with the Lord August 26, 2005 at St. John's Mercy Hospital in
Washington. She was born October 29, 1951 in Peoria, Illinois.
Dee, as family and friends knew her, was most recently
employed as a territorial sales representative for Genuine Parts
Company for nearly 15 years. Prior to this she worked for many years
with the Wallis Companies as a sales associate and store manager.
Her co-workers and customers alike knew her as a hardworking and
caring individual.
An avid fan of the outdoors Dee loved to spend time in
the Ozarks with her husband and closest friends. Talented in a
number of skills, she enjoyed preserving memories with photography
and genealogy as well as quilting, seamstressing, decorating and
cooking. She loved her family dearly and particularly drew joy from
her eight grandchildren.
She is survived by her dear husband of nearly 25 years
Donald West of Leasburg, Missouri; two children, John Schuler of
Sullivan and Julie Schuler and Morris Worley of Cuba, Missouri; two
step children, Sonya Smith and her husband, Greg, of Ozark,
Missouri, and Clint West and his wife, Emily, of O'Fallon, Missouri.
Eight grandchildren, Michael Schuler, Derrick Schuler,
Ashley Worley, Tanza Smith, Canyon Smith, Bryn Smith, Megan West,
and Caleb West.
Her parents James and Martha McClary of Leasburg,
Missouri; her siblings Jimmie McClary of Leasburg, Missouri, Brad
McClary of Sullivan, Missouri, Randy McClary and his wife, Toni, of
Owensville, Missouri, Donna McLin of Leasburg, Missouri, Debbie King
and her husband, Ralph, of Leasburg, Missouri, Della Hodge and her
husband, Dave, of Branson, Missouri, and Jay McClary and his wife,
Rini, of Leasburg, Missouri; several in-laws, nieces, nephews, other
relatives and friends.
A brother, Mark McClary, who died at birth, preceded her
in death.
Visitation was held from 4-9 p.m. Tuesday, August 30,
2005 at Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan. Funeral services were held
Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at Crossroads Baptist Church officiated
by Pastor Bobby Higgins. Burial followed in the Lea Cemetery in
Leasburg.
