Charles proudly served in the United States Navy from May 1950 until August 1959. He retired in the late 1980’s as an accountant for the state of California after many years of dedicated service. He was a member of Cuba VFW Post #7147 and in his spare time he enjoyed gardening, reading and was an amazing baker. Edward H. Cain, Jr. Edward H. Cain, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Gerald, Missouri, was born on Thursday, October 1, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward Sr. and Christine Grohman Cain and passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 7 days. He served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corp. He then worked and retired as a welder for 35 years from Boeing Industry. He also was a member of the Aerospace District Lodge #837. He collected Indian relics and enjoyed traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Christine Cain; and brother-in-law John Bohnert. Richard Louis Clemans Richard Louis Clemans was born to Walter N. and Josephine (Liska) Clemans on October 4, 1925 in Ft. Worth, Texas and passed away at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri on Sunday, September 2, 2012 at the age of 86 years, 10 months, and 29 days. At the age of seven, the family moved to rural Boyd, Texas where he graduated from high school. Richard served in the military during World War II from 1942 to 1946. He attended Southern Methodist University and earned Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Divinity degrees. He served as Methodist Student Director at two colleges, as Minister of Christian Education at three churches, and as pastor of four churches living in Texas, Michigan and Missouri during this time. On June 12, 1949 he was united in marriage to Jeannette Evans and to this union four children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Josephine Clemans. He is survived by his wife, Jeannette Clemans of St. James, Missouri; three daughters, Brenda Catherine Miller of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Laura Jane McGibney of Lebanon, Illinois and Rebecca Louise Clemans of McLean, Virginia; and one son, David Charles Clemans of Dallas, Texas; seven grandchildren; several great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Cole of Rolla, Missouri was born on October 16, 1922 at Flat River, Missouri to William and Lucille Bennett Cole and passed away on Sunday, September 9, 2012 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 25 days. John was a Cartopher at USGS in Rolla, Mo, for many years. He was a 50-year member of the Elvins Lodge #599 AF & AM Masonic Lodge in Flat River, Missouri. He was a member of the Abou Ben Adahm Temple in Springfield, Missouri, and was a member of the Scottish Rite. John was very active in Boy Scouts and had received the Silver Beaver Award. John and his wife Bernadine were active in the Eastern Star and John served as a Worthy Patron of the Rolla Lodge. John was a graduate of Flat River Junior College in 1943 and a graduate of University of Missouri College of Agriculture in 1946. He was a member of the Rolla First Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernadine Mary (Govreau) Cole on March 27, 2008 and his brother, Robert Cole. He is survived by dear friends, A.C. Nancy Lee Hinch Nancy Lee Hinch of Sullivan, Missouri was born on October 27, 1932 at South Gate, California to Ray and Margaret (Smith) Collins and passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the age of 79 years. Because of her father’s career in the military, Nancy had lived in various parts of the country, later graduating high school at Evening Shade, Arkansas. On May 23, 1953 she was united in marriage to Wilbert T. Hinch. They made their home for a time in St. Louis and later moved to Cuba, Missouri. Nancy was employed as a telephone operator with AT&T for 30 years and later retired from there.  She then moved to California where she was active in church work. She was a member of Saint Christopher’s Catholic Church at Galt, California and was instrumental in establishing the First Friday Club. She also became involved in home health services and was a live in assistant for those needing constant care in the home. In 1994, she officially retired and moved back to Sullivan, Missouri. She is survived by three sons, Raymond Hinch and wife Monica of Germany, James Hinch and wife Linda of Maryland Heights, Missouri and Jerome Hinch of Sullivan, Missouri; one step-son, Billy Joe Hinch and wife Opal of Rolla, Missouri; three daughters, Maggie Reavis and husband Chris of Sullivan, Missouri, Theresa Beckett and husband Joe of Bourbon, Missouri and Rebecca Bus and husband Mike of Maryland Heights, Missouri; two step-daughters, Betty Isgriggs of Cherryville, Missouri and Pat Kinkead of Gerald, Missouri; one brother, David Collins of Costa Rica; two sisters, Pat Farris of Sullivan, Missouri and Suzie Tanner of the state of Ohio; sister-in-law, Anna Hinch of Steelville, Missouri; 19 grandchildren; 22 great grand- children; other relatives and friends. Harold was a lifelong resident of Phelps County and a member of Saint John Lutheran Church in St. James, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Helen Lupberger. Dorothy Ellen Masterson Dorothy Ellen Masterson nee Gunn of Rolla, Missouri was born on Sunday, June 17, 1923 in St. Louis, Missouri to Virgil and Phyllis Caulmer Gunn and passed away on Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at the age of 89 years, 2 months and 19 days. Dorothy married John P. Masterson on June 19, 1948 in St. Louis, Missorui and to this union three daughters were born. Dorothy received her Bachelor of English degree and taught 35 years at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Florissant, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Phyllis Gunn; husband, John; and daughter, Nancy Pailer. She is survived by her daughters, Mary and husband Cary Blanc of Rolla, Missouri and Clare Masterson of Pontoon Beach, Illinois; son-in-law, Mike Pailer of Bridgeton, Missouri; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Rhodes of St. James, Missouri was born March 3, 1925 in St. James, Missouri to Joni and Rosa Pitts and passed away September 7, 2012 at her granddaughter’s home at the age of 87 years. She enjoyed collecting frog figurines and had a passion for Bingo. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joni and Rosa Pitts; her daughter, Naomi Mayberry and her son, Eddie Moreland. Jill Ann Weilitz Jill Ann Weilitz of Cuba, Missouri was born May 26, 1933 in St. Croix, Wisconsin to John Clayton and Eleanora Cecilia (nee Swanson) Rutherford and passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012 at her lake home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 79 years, 3 months and 19 days. Jill was united in marriage to Burton L. Weilitz on April 10, 1954 at Lake Crystal, Minnesota and to this union three children were born. Jill and Burt were happily married for 40 years. Jill taught first grade for one year before she was married and after marriage she took care of her home and family. She was a 50+ year member of the O.E.S. Cuba Chapter, member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba since moving from St. Ann, Missouri to Indian Hills Lake in 1990. Jill was a member of the Golden Mariners, the “Lunch Bunch,” the “Fab Five” and served as treasurer, secretary, vice president and president of the Indian Hills Lake Ladies Auxiliary. She served as a Girl Scout leader when they lived in St. Ann and she enjoyed camping, the outdoors, bird watching, especially humming birds and was an excellent artist. Jill had a great gift of being able to help others; she would listen, give advice and mentor to the young and old alike. She was preceded in death by her husband, Burt L. Weilitz; parents, J.C. and Eleanor Rutherford; son, Alan Weilitz; sister, Janet and her husband Harley O. Wall; brother, Jack Rutherford and other relatives and friends. Zelch of  rural Rosebud, Missouri was born  April 29, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to Charles P. and Lillian M. (Scherrer) Zelch and passed away Wednesday, September 12, 2012 at the age of 73 years. He served in the United States Army in Berlin, Germany. Charlie was united in marriage to Dorothy A. Engler on August 13, 1960 and they made their home on Tea Road in rural Rosebud. They had six children. Charlie’s jobs included that of gravedigger, retired union carpenter Local 1839, farmer, fur trapper, truck driver, Bourbeuse Telephone lineman and he owned and operated the “Ozark Playgrounds” dance hall. He also enjoyed the outdoors and hunting trips with his brothers. He was a member of the NRA, VFW, MFA, Gasconade County Area Watch, Rosebud Legion Hall, the Missouri Trappers Assoc., Nation Trappers Assoc., and Fur Takers of America. He was a member of Holy Martyrs Catholic Church of Japan where he had served as a parish council member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian Zelch; his parents-in-laws, Joe and Mildred Engler; sister, Shari Zelch and by two nephews, Zach Zelch and Kyle Zelch.
