MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 20, 2017 Florence "Jill" Marie Anderton Florence "Jill" Marie Anderton of Boonville, Missouri was born on November 14, 1929 in Cuba, Missouri to C.E. "Bud" and Birdie Marie Lewis and passed away Thursday September 14, 2017 at the age of 87 years. "Jill" as she was known by her close family and friends graduated from Cuba High School in 1947. She married John Ray Anderton on December 5, 1964. They spent the happiest of times together in a home in Cooper County. Together they enjoyed yard work, gardening, canning, playing cards and dominos and entertaining family and guests in their home. She worked as a waitress and in a variety of food service positions. However, her true calling was as a caregiver. During her later years she spent her time reading daily devotions and working jigsaw puzzles. The highlight of her days were the weekly phone calls from her great-grandson Blake. She was an active member of Riverside Christian Church where she enjoyed attending Sunday School and Life After Fifty Small Group. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John on January 17, 1997; step-son, Ronnie Anderton; and siblings, Jack, Bill, Bob and Evie. She is survived by her children, Laura (Roger) Hill of Fulton, Missouri, Ray (Janet) Garms of Fayette, Missouri, Tracey (Steve) Walczak of Victorville, California and Phyllis (Doug) Gilpin of Boonville, Missouri; step-children, Wayne and Raymond Anderton of Columbia, Missouri and Sharon (Gary) Love Bridell of Miramar Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Bart) Nelson, Delbert R. "Bob" Bommel Sr. of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Fulton, Missouri was born to August W. and Grace M. (Gaster) Bommel on July 15, 1923 in Luverne, Iowa and passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at the age of 94 years. Bob married Betty L. Allen on June 14, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas and to this union two sons were born. Bob worked as a machinist at Danuser Machine Company in Fulton, Missouri and later Brunson Instrument Company in Kansas City, Missouri. He honorably served his country in United States Army during WWII and was awarded three Bronze Stars. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, metal detecting and reading. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Grace Bommel; one son, Stephen Allen Bommel; and three brothers, Floyd, John "Jack" and James Bommel. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Betty Bommel of Cuba, Missouri; one son, Robert D. David Linn Branson David Linn Branson of Leasburg, Missouri was born on April 9, 1962 in Sullivan, Missouri to Donald D. and Ruth A. (Richters) Branson and passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 55 years. He attended and graduated from Bourbon High School class of 1981. David owned and operated Branson Excavating for many years, which he purchased from his dad. Most recently he was employed by Darrah Construction as an operator. David was a generous person who loved the outdoors and animals. He could tear anything apart and put it back together. He loved his Rottweiler Dominic, Harley Davidson motorcycles, giving people a hard time and getting it back. He was a "David" who pretended to be Goliath, but he was really kind and loving on the inside. David was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Bourbon and will be missed by his family who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Branson and his Rottweiler, Dominic. George "Calvin" Fowler of Bourbon, was born on September 6, 1926 to George and Ellen (Simmons) Fowler in Stanton, Missouri and passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at the age of 91 years. On April 5, 1953, George married Norma Garrison at the Bourbon First Assembly of God. Reverend Fowler was an ordained minister with the Assembly of God denomination for 61 years. He was a Pastor for nearly 50 years, pastoring in several locations in Missouri, Iowa and Illinois. Reverend Fowler was a humble, caring, hard-working man of God. He ministered to and touched the lives of hundreds of people throughout his long life. He was known for his jolly personality, his wonderful sense of humor and infectious laugh. He taught through his example to give the needs of others priority over all else. His ministry was marked by self-sacrifice for the care of people. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ellen Fowler; and three sisters: Helen Ruble, Corrine Ruble and June King. Wanda Irene Hawkins Wanda Irene Hawkins (nee Hutchings) of Steelville, Missouri was born in Banner, Missouri on Thursday, February 9, 1933 to Gentry Willard Hutchings Sr. and Ester Trula (Fryman) Hutchings and passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2017 at the age of 84 years, 7 months and 3 days. Wanda accepted the Lord early in life and joined the Church of Christ in St. Louis, Missouri. Her first job as a teen was working for Sunshine Biscuit Company in St. Louis, Missouri. She later worked for Carter Carburetor Company in St. Louis and after that Chevron Chemical Company in Maryland Heights, Missouri. She married Junior Lond Beers in 1954 and to this union one son was born. On August 27, 1960 she married George Elvin Hawkins and to this union one daughter and one son was born. After moving to Steelville, Missouri she worked for the San Val Book Binding Factory until retirement. In her spare time she enjoyed all sorts of crafts including painting, ceramics, sewing, and macrame. She also loved her TV programs. She was preceded in death by her parents, Gentry and Ester Hutchings; husbands, Junior Lond Beers and George Elvin Hawkins; infant son, Eric George Hawkins, brother, Rick Hutchings, two sisters, Sybil (Jim) Ogrzewalla and Charlene Amburgy; two brothers-in-law, Darald Evans and Odell Evans. Pat O'Daniel King Pat O'Daniel King of Sullivan, Missouri was born on November 10, 1943 to Perry and Virginia (Keech) King in Pocahontas, Arkansas and passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at the age of 73 years. He grew up and graduated from Pocahontas High School in Arkansas. After graduation, Pat moved to the St. Louis area, where he met his future wife, Cecilia Vivrett. Pat and Cecilia had two daughters. They started their family in Fenton, Missouri and later relocated to Sullivan, Missouri. Pat worked at Sullivan Precision Metal and later, Ozark Mountain technologies in Cuba, Missouri from which he retired. In his younger days, he enjoyed hunting with his brother-in-law, Doug and on Saturday mornings, he could always be found at the Bobber Cafˇ drinking coffee with his buddies. Pat was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed entering his '68 Camaro in car shows. Pat loved his kids and grandkids and cherished time with his family and in the outdoors barbequing. He was known to cook a "mean" pork steak. He was preceded in death by his parents, Perry D. and Virginia L. King; one brother, Jerry King; and one great-grandson, Diego Barch. Marguerite Joyce Nichols Marguerite Joyce Nichols (nee Davidson) of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Farmington, New Mexico was born on Monday, April 6, 1931 in Ardmore, Oklahoma to Robert Davidson and Bycie (Ford) Davidson and passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at the age of 86 years, 5 months and 10 days. Marguerite accepted the Lord when she was five years old and was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She married Walter W. Nichols on May 25, 1948 in Lubbock, Texas. She was a businesswoman, as a bookkeeper and accountant for General Tire and for Sherwin Williams in Farmington, New Mexico. Later, she opened her own business, Joyce's Boutique in Farmington, New Mexico. Marguerite loved to knit, crochet, sew, garden and camp. She also loved to cook and would make the grandchildren's favorite meals on their birthdays. She was very active in church work. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bycie Davidson; sisters, Virginia (Sherman) Edwards and Darlene Patterson; step-brother, Wendy (JoAnn) Cribbs; step-sister Imogene Ackley; and sister-in-law, Athelene Cribbs. Laura Nicoletti Laura (Ruwwe) Nicoletti of Imperial, Missouri was born April 16, 1962 in St. Louis, Missouri to Donald and Chleo (Marsh) Ruwwe and passed away unexpectedly Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the age of 55 years. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan, St. Louis and Rolla, Missouri. She became a mother early in her life, giving birth to her daughter, Shandi. Together they lived in various states before returning to Missouri where they settled in the Fenton area. Through the years Laura worked as a bartender, waitress and a seamstress. She was gifted at sewing many things including clothing. Laura was also good at cooking and enjoyed making meals for family and friends. Over the years, she enjoyed playing frisbee, "yard saling" and playing billiards. Many who knew her will remember that she loved the color pink! She was preceded in death by her mother, Chleo Ruwwe; and nephew, Brian McCance. Robert Gerald Romine Robert Gerald Romine of Bourbon, Missouri was born on July 15, 1925 to Walter and Florence [Goodacre] Romine in Dillon, Missouri and passed away on Sunday, September 10, 2017 at the age of 92 years. He grew up and attended Oak Ridge Elementary School in Chesterfield, Missouri and several others. He honorably served his country in the United States Army from July 1944 to June 1946. He served in France and Germany during WW II. On September 5, 1952, Robert married Helen Leona Ridgley at the Antioch Baptist Church in Chesterfield, Missouri. They resided in Kirkwood, Missouri for 20 years. Robert attended and was baptized at the Kirkwood Baptist Church. Robert's first job was as a carpenter for Apex Construction. He then worked for his brother Ralph, before Helen and him started the Robert G. Romine Building Company. They built many homes in Kirkwood, Missouri. Later, they moved to Pacific, Missouri where Robert and Helen owned and operated Country Aire Mobile Home Park for 15 years, until his retirement in 1984. Upon retirement, they moved to Sullivan, Missouri and spent their winters in Holiday, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Florence Romine; three brothers, George, Ralph and Donald Jack; and three sisters, Dorothea Blanner, Helen Arft and Norma Glenn. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen L. She retired from Dollar General as manager just five years ago. Virginia enjoyed talking to people and socializing with her friends. Jim married Virginia Frances Conduitt on July 2, 1961 at Delhi Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Jim retired as a Personnel Director after serving his country honorable 21 years in the United States Air Force. He later drove for Motor Coach Company for many years, which allowed him to travel throughout the country. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri where he had at one time been active singing in the church choir, working with the Royal Ambassador boys and the Senior Adult Sunshiners. He also was a member of the American Legion, VFW, and DAV of Cuba, Missouri and Air Force Sergeant's Association.
