Robert F. Boren
Robert F. Boren of St. James, Missouri was born December 1, 1931 in
St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Clara (Salzmann) Boren and passed away
at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age
of 78 years.
Robert was united in marriage to Helen (Hughes) Boren on October 13, 1951
and to this union five children were born.
Robert was a carpenter by trade and spent his life in the construction
industry; he also spent many years in Ballwin, Missouri where he was a
proud member of the volunteer Fire Department. He loved spending time with
his family and friends playing pool, horseshoes, and trip’s to the bowling
alley were always a guaranteed good time. He also enjoyed putting puzzles
together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara Boren; son, Mark;
two brothers and one sister.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Helen; children, Deb Chick and
husband Jim of St. James, Missouri, Michael Boren and friend Sandy of
Madison, Wisconsin, Cathy Shaw and friend Harry Hegger of St. James,
Missouri, Shelia Frisch and husband Rich of House Springs, Missouri, Jan
O’Malley and husband John of Ballwin, Missouri; sisters, Florence Boyd of
Eureka, Missouri and Betty Crable, of Ballwin, Missouri; six grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Graveside service was Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 2 p.m. in the Gorman
Cemetery, St. James, Missouri with Pastor Phil Cox officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary, St. James,
Missouri.
Roger Golden Brockes
Roger Golden Brockes of Cook Station, Missouri was born on Friday,
September 26, 1941 to Henry Golden and Mary Opal Fancher Brockes and passed
away on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Phelps County Regional Medical
Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 11 months and 22 days.
He married Carol Ann Scronce on January 28, 1961 in Valley Park, Missouri
and to this union one daughter was born.
He owned a retail car business before retirement. His hobbies were fishing
and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Mary Brockes; brothers,
Henry, Dorsey, Bill and Redith Brockes; sisters, Ivy (Tommy) Sullivan and
Beverly Sue Brockes; brothers-in-law, Robert and Richard Scronce and
sister-in-law, Sherry Scronce.
He is survived by his wife, Carol; daughter, Sheri (James) Elkins of
Steelville, Missouri; sister, Edith (Tom) Dutridge of Wauseon, Ohio;
grandson Daniel (Charlene) Elkins of Steelville, Missouri; great grand-
daughter, Elizabeth Elkins; sister-in-law, Pauline Vasey of Green City,
Missouri and Ronald Scronce of High Ridge, Missouri; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 21, 2010 from 11 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and
funeral service on Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 1:30 p.m. at the Hutson
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.
Burial at the Bethany Cemetery, Iberia, Missouri.

Elsie Irene David
Elsie Irene David (nee Nash) of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on
January 29, 1930 in Iron Mountain, Missouri to Zeno Clint and Beulah Irene
(Snow) Nash and passed away Friday, September 17, 2010 at the age of 80
years.
She loved to cook and made it a career most of her life. She also enjoyed
the out of doors, fishing, and camping especially; and was still splitting
wood into her mid 70’s. She loved spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas David; daughter,
Kathy Parker; 11 other children; her parents, Zeno and Beulah Nash; and
six siblings, Harry, Fred, Joseph, and Clifford Nash, Evelyn Davis and
Edna Miller.
She is survived by a daughter, Glenda Stroup of Sullivan, Missouri; sons,
Zeno Ellis of Bourbon, Missouri, Jeffery Wayne Ellis of the state of Texas,
Kenneth Sartors of St. Louis, Missouri, and Darren Sartors of Lake of the
Ozarks, Missouri; four step children, Mildred Graham and John David of
Sullivan, Missouri, Jacky David and Tom David of Rolla, Missouri; sisters,
Ethel Parrick of Kansas City, Missouri and Essie Bowers of Sikeston,
Missouri; grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside funeral services were conducted at 5 p.m. on Wednesday,
September 22, 2010 at the Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Blanche M. Feeler
Blanche M. Feeler of St. James, Missouri was born May 1, 1912 in Hot Springs,
Arkansas to Walter and Audrey (Carpenter) Spurlin and passed away
September 19, 2010 at the Golden Living Center in St. James at the age
of 98 years.
Blanche was united in marriage to Wayman Feeler and to this union four
children were born.
Blanche and her family shared their home with foster children for many
years. She always believed in sharing and gave of herself freely spending
many hours volunteering, the family always had a big garden and Blanche
would can and make jelly. She enjoyed quilting; the greatest joy came
from giving away the fruits of her labor; whether it was the gift of one
of her handmade quilts or a delicious jar of jelly. When you came to
Grandma’s house you never left empty handed. She was a Christian with a
longtime love for the Lord as demonstrated in her decades of generosity and
kindness; she was a long time member of the First Christian Church in
St. James, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Audrey Spurlin;
husband, Wayman who passed away June 18, 1986; son, Eliza Harvey and
daughter, Marilyn Roellchen.
She is survived by her children, Irene Washburn of St. James, Missouri,
Virginia Tucker and husband Richard of St. James, Missouri, Jim Feeler of
Texas and Joey Feeler of Salem, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 36 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:30 until service time
at 11 a.m. Friday, September 24, 2010 at the St. James Chapel of the
James & Gahr Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary, with Pastor Aaron Jeffers
officiating.
Interment will be in the James Community Cemetery.

Mary Elizabeth Fey
Mary Elizabeth Fey of Cuba, Missouri was born Wednesday, June 14, 1939 at
Ste. Genevieve, Missouri to Austin and Alvena (nee Roth) Morice and passed
away Saturday, September 11, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of
71 years, 2 months and 27 days.
Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth William Fey September 5, 1945 at
St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mary retired in 1996 after 25 years of dedicated service as a manager for
Food Service of America.
In her spare time and especially after retiring she has enjoyed fishing,
gambling, reading, scrap booking, four wheeling, computer games, garage
sales, auctions, shopping, crossword puzzles, jig saw puzzles and every
Christmas Eve.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Alvena Morice; one
great grandson, Drake Fey; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Kenneth W. Fey of Cuba,
Missouri; four children, Joe Fey of Cuba, Missouri, Kelly and husband
Everett Uhl of Cuba, Missouri, Kurt “Bud” and wife Missy Fey of Barnhart,
Missouri and Mike and wife Tammie Fey of Cuba, Missouri; nine grandchildren,
Joseph Fey, Kasse Fey, Shannon and husband Chad Caron, Michael Uhl and
girlfriend Lindsey Verble, Christy Fey and fiancé Darren Clifford, Ashley
Barbey and friend Marissa, Jennifer and husband Daniel Garbo, Michael Fey
and Tara and husband Nick Weber; nine great grandchildren, Cameron, Skylar,
Naythan, Courtney, Mya, Jadelyn, Blaze, Jackson and Hunter; other relatives
and friends.

Special music was “What a Wonderful Life” and “Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain.”

Chester E. Gargus
Chester E. Gargus of Bourbon, Missouri was born to Earl and Edna (King)
Gargus on March 27, 1930 at Sullivan, Missouri and passed away at Cuba
Manor, Cuba, Missouri on Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the age of
80 years.
He worked in timber the majority of his life.
On March 16, 1955 he married Jenny King at Steelville, Missouri.
Chester honorably served his country during the Korean War with the U.S.
Army. Chester was known as a physically strong man who worked hard and was
a good provider.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Edna Gargus; a brother,
Howard Gargus and three sisters, Violet Studdard, Beulah Burgner and Pearl
Honea.
He is survived by his wife Jenny of the family home; five sons, Daniel
Gargus and wife Joy of Sullivan, Missouri, Kenny Gargus of Rolla, Missouri,
Ronnie Gargus and wife Leigh Anne of Bourbon, Missouri, Scott Gargus and
wife Lori of Owensville, Missouri and David Gargus and wife Charlotte of
Bourbon, Missouri; one daughter, Janet Byers and husband Gary of Sullivan,
Missouri; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; one brother, Robert
Gargus and wife Bertha of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Evelyn Simmerly
and husband Junior of Bourbon, Missouri and Kathryn Flores of Harbor City,
California; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on
Tuesday, September 14, 2010 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan,
Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 14, 2010
from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri, with Michael Delashmit
officiating.
Interment with full military honors was in Reedville Cemetery.

Eunice Pearl Hill
Eunice Pearl Hill nee Johnson of Rolla, Missouri formerly of Steelville,
Missouri was born to Eldon A. Johnson and Lola Marie Bowen Johnson on
January 10, 1927 in Carrollton, Missouri. She passed away on Sunday,
September 12, 2010 at the age of 83 years.
She married Dellis J. Hill on December 25, 1948 in Steelville, Missouri
officiated by Rev. Sam Roper and to this union two children were born.
Eunice worked as a bank teller for several years. She enjoyed riding
horses, crocheting, making afghans, working crossword puzzles, gardening,
cooking, and watching St. Louis Cardinal baseball.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepdad, Everett Cook; son, Jimmy
Dale Hill; brothers-in-law, Virgil Hill, Clinton (Lucille) Hill, and Clyde
(Elsie) Hill; sister, Betty Hill of Festus, Missouri; and niece, Yvonne
(Greg) Fulton.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna and husband Robert Bales of Rolla,
Missouri; grandchildren, Dwayne LaBarge of Rolla, Missouri, Stacy LaBarge
of Blue Springs, Missouri and Waylon Bales of Newburg, Missouri; great
grandchildren, Ashley, Carson, and Isabella; brothers, Charles (Nellie) Cook
of Ballwin, Missouri, Everett “Ernest” (Janet) Cook of Maryland Heights,
Missouri, Arthur (Rusty) Cook and Gerald (Sandy) Cook all of Steelville,
Missouri; brother-in-law Elgie (Ruth) Hill of Cuba, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.

Funeral service at 2 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with

Leonard Knepper
Leonard Knepper of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, January 25, 1924 to
Fredrick and Mary (nee Scharff) Knepper at Greenville, Illinois and passed
away Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of
86 years, 7 months and 22 days.
Leonard proudly served in the United States Army from 1942 till 1945
reaching the rank of Tech 5. He was in the Battle of the Bulge serving under
the direction of General Patton.
Leonard was united in marriage to Dorothy Lee Huskey on November 2, 1968.
He worked for over 50 years as an auto body repairman. He was a lifetime
member of the Cuba VFW Post 7147. Leonard spent his life working and taking
care of his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Mary Knepper; wife,
Dorothy Knepper; daughter, Linda Scego; three brothers, Fred, Roland and
William “Bill” Knepper; two sisters, Elvera Knepper and Viola Walthes;
other relatives and friends.
He is survived by two sons, James Knepper of Steelville, Missouri and
William “Bill” Knepper of Cuba, Missouri; son-in-law, Doug Scego of Cuba,
Missouri; one sister, Marie of Ewing, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Monday, September 20, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Graveside service with full military honors was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday,
September 21, 2010 at the Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Pastor
Norman Heironimus officiating.

Clarence “Bill” Lause
Clarence “Bill” Lause of Cuba, Missouri was born on March 28, 1932 in
Washington, Missouri to William and Sophia (Elbert) Lause and passed away
Saturday, September 11, 2010 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 78 years.
Bill was a retired pipefitter for Laclede Gas Company in St. Louis, Missouri.
He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His
hobbies included gardening, being outside, hunting, fishing and being a
loyal Chicago Cubs Fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sophia Lause; step-
daughter, Joyce Deardeuff; two sons-in-law, Phinis Deardeuff and Allen
Potter; one brother, Maurice Lause; three sisters, Hermie Shephard, Paul
Lause, Lucille Lause; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Louise M. Lause (nee Gruver) of Cuba, Missouri;
four step children, John and wife Tammy Copling of Cuba, Missouri, Judy Gunn
of Leasburg, Missouri, Karen and husband Mike Garrison of Cuba, Missouri and
Vicky Arnett of House Springs, Missouri; one brother, Julius Lause of Sun

Robert N. Lincoln
Robert N. Lincoln was born in Sacramento, California on September 8, 1930
to John and Marie (Maderos) Lincoln and passed away September 14, 2010 at
his home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
Robert was united in marriage to Dolores (Sandy) Sanwald on
November 20, 1954 and to this union four children were born.
Robert was a longtime member of the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rosati,
Missouri; and was a 4th Degree Knight is the Knights of Columbus. He loved
to hunt, fish and spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Lincoln.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandy of the home; children, Mark
Lincoln and wife Rose of Rolla, Missouri, Alisa Colbeck and husband Tom of
O’Fallon, Missouri, Tim Lincoln and wife Amanda of Cuba, Missouri and
Matthew Lincoln of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Norman Raymond and wife Audrey
of Detroit, Michigan; eight grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Friday, September 17, 2010 from 5-8 p.m. at the St. James
Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was Saturday, September 18, 2010 at 11 a.m. in the
St. Anthony Catholic Church in Rosati, Missouri with Father Charles
Pardee officiating.
Interment followed in the St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery.

Lilly Jane Pidcock
Lilly Jane Pidcock of Steelville, Missouri was born on January 16, 1936 at
Cadet, Missouri to Jess and Ellen (Emily) Eckhoff and passed away
September 11, 2010 at her residence having at the age of 74 years,
7 months and 2 days.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jess and Ellen Eckhoff; her
husband, Walter E. Pidcock; daughter, Lilly Diane Eckhoff; three sons,
David Pidcock, Walter Pidcock and Jimmy Dale Pidcock; brother, Jesse
Eckhoff; two sisters, Mandy Missey and Marjorie Jackson.
She is survived by a son, Michael Pidcock and wife Evelyn of Cadet,
Missouri; four daughters, Ellen Halbert and husband Donnie of Steelville,
Missouri, Sally Brooks and husband Wayne of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Jenie
Hanson and husband Robert of Indiana and Jennifer King and husband Brian
of Kansas City, Missouri; three brothers, Willard “Bub” Eckhoff and wife
Theresa of Cadet, Missouri, “Dag” Eckhoff of Cadet, Missouri and Gary
Eckhoff of Cadet, Missouri; 18 grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Monday September 13, 2010 at 11 a.m. at
the DeClue Chapel with Rev. John Frazier officiating.
Pallbearers were Donnie Halbert, Robert Henson, Jim Robart, McKinley
Griggs, Matthew Eckhoff and Wayne Brooks.
Interment and final prayers were held at Redbud Memorial Gardens.

Michael Dean Summers
Michael Dean Summers of Cuba, Missouri was born October 1, 1956 in Desloge,
Missouri to Dale W. and Edna (Powell) Summers and passed away Wednesday,
September 15, 2010 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 53 years.
Michael was united in marriage to his soul mate Pamela “Irene” Johansen
on September 11, 1975 and to this union two sons were born.
Michael was a Lab Technician for 33 years at BIPACCO Coatings in Cuba. He
enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, camping and spending time and taking
care of his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dale W. and Edna Summers; one
brother, William D. Summers; mother-in-law, Patricia Omstead; other
relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Pam “Irene” Summers; two sons, Chris and wife
Sara Summers and Jeremy Summers; two grandchildren, Cheyenne and Chase
Summers, all of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, Don and wife Tiny Summers
of Nixa, Missouri and Jerry and wife Connie Summers of Cuba, Missouri; one
sister, Barbara Short of Leasburg, Missouri; father-in-law, Don and wife
Nancy Johansen of Chicago, Illinois; two brothers-in-law, Steve and wife
Joby Omstead and Herman Omstead, both of Coffeville, Kansas; other relatives
