Linda Fay Green Linda Fay Green (nee Hanna) of Steelville, Missouri was born December 10, 1949 in St. Louis, Missouri to Eugene and Mabel Ballard Hanna and passed away Monday, September 14, 2020 at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 4 days. On December 19, 1964 in Cherryville, Linda married Daniel Green. Linda attended Rivers of Life Church for several years and was a youth group Sunday school teacher. She was on the selective service board. Linda had been employed as the office manager for the Crawford Mirror and a floor sales rep lead for Perkins Lumber Company and later retired after working 20 years as a clerk for the US Postal Service. Early on, she had given up an opportunity for a music career to raise her daughters as they were her first priority in life. Linda was an accomplished seamstress, but especially enjoyed making quilts and working with beads to make necklaces and other jewelry. She loved traveling and enjoyed her visits to Ireland, England, Hawaii and Scotland. She was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Mabel Hanna; and one sister, Debbie Aksoy. Dolores was raised in St. Louis, Missouri and lived and worked there as a cook and waitress, first at the Salad Bowl and later at Miss Helens. She made her home in the Bourbon, Missouri area for the last 30 years ago and was employed at Paramount Cap in Bourbon, Missouri and Richards Restaurant. Dolores enjoyed sewing, baking cookies and yard sales. She was also a dog lover, B.J. being her favorite furry friend. Dolores was of the Catholic faith. Jesse Cletis "Skeets" Howdeshell Jesse Cletis "Skeets" Howdeshell was born in Dillard, Missouri on December 27, 1932 to Frank and Annie Howdeshell (nee Askins) and passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Skeets, or as some people referred to him as, "Jess or Cletis," attended a one-room grade school in Dillard, Missouri from which he graduated the eighth grade. He married Loretta Gibbs on September 9, 1952. He joined the United States Navy in June 1952 and served four years until May 1956. After the Navy, he made a career in the United Food & Commercial Workers International Union and retired from Schnuck Markets in 1995 after working there for nearly 40 years. He followed the Assembly of God faith and the word of Jesus in all that he did. As a young man, he was a gifted baseball player who tried out for the St. Louis Brown's. Aside from his love of baseball, he also loved to play a game of horseshoes. He liked to keep busy. Well into his 70's, he could be found on his roof, climbing a tree or splitting wood. He especially loved Grandma's cooking and enjoyed his favorite snack of cornbread and milk He was preceded in death by his oldest daughter, Jeanne Mertz; parents, Frank and Annie Howdeshell; two sisters, Hildred Setzer and Reba Brand; and one brother, Lee Howdeshell. Jean, or Jeano as he was known in Salem, Missouri was a 1954 graduate of the Salem High School in Salem, Missouri. He was drafted into the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War. He was an independent over the road truck driver for over 45 years, driving over three million miles. He retired from trucking in 2010. He was a devout member of the Bolivar Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bolivar, Missouri for the last 15 years where he served as Deacon and Sabbath School teacher. Jean enjoyed collecting cast iron, tractors, mixers and anything else he could get a good bargain on. He loved going to Lamberts for Father's Day and his birthday, attending the annual family reunion on Labor Day weekend, tinkering on cars even though he wasn't a mechanic, buying and selling old tractors and reading his bible daily. In 1972 Linda married Delmar McKellips in Murphysboro, Illinois. Linda attended Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. She spent several hours volunteering for hospice with different organizations and volunteering at the St. James Veterans Home. She had a green thumb and loved having a flower garden and vegetable gardening. She enjoyed being a caretaker of animals along with fishing, crocheting and hunting rabbits and squirrels. Some of her fondest memories were snow sledding down the hills with her children. He attended and graduated from Sullivan High School Class of 1952. Kenny honorably served his country in the United States Navy from 1952 to 1955. Kenny was employed by McDonald Aircraft for a time and later co-owned and operated Ken-Mar Texaco Service Station. For 23 years, Kenny worked for the former Meramec Mining company. After he retired Kenny enjoyed traveling with Mary in his RV. Everyone who knew Kenny, knew two things about him, he was "one of a kind" and a Republican. She married Jr. Ernest Gibson and to this union seven children were born, John Ernest Gibson, Bonnie Marie Francis, Martin Robert Gibson, Ronnie Gibson, Howard Mark Gibson, Orville Ernest Gibson and Jay Alfred Gibson. She married Ernest Lacy and to this union one son was born, Calvin Lacy. Her longtime companion and friend, Andy Adams, who preceded in death. On February 28, 2013 she married Ivan Sieber. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mildred Fanger; three sons, infant son Ronnie Gibson, Calvin Lacy and Orville Gibson; brother, Everett Fanger; sister, Virginia Saroch; and son-in-law, Jim Francis. Her family traveled and lived all over the country as her father was serving in the United States Air Force. Wannette attended Greenpark Lutheran Grade School and Lutheran South High School. She went on to earn a teaching degree from UMSL. Wannette married Wayne Sutton on November 9, 1968 at the Peace Lutheran Church in St. Louis, Missouri. Wayne preceded her in death on March 29, 2003 at the age of 54 as the result of an automobile accident. Wannette remained in the family home on Lodge Road until her passing. Wannette was employed as a kindergarten and first grade teacher for eight years at St. John's in Arnold, Missouri and for Bourbon School District for 32 years. Wannette was loved by her students and respected by her peers. In her free time Wannette enjoyed spending time with her family and traveling. She was a devoted member of Concordia Lutheran Church of Bourbon, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Sutton; and her parents, Raymond and Wilma Moeckel. She is survived by her children, William Sutton and wife Amy of Steelville, Missouri, Wade Sutton and wife Jessica of Bourbon, Missouri and Walt Sutton and wife Mary of Bourbon, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jake, Luke and Bo Sutton of Steelville, Missouri, Avery, Allie and J. W. Sutton, all of Bourbon, Missouri; three brothers, Ron Moeckel and wife Becky Olympia, Washington, Randy Moeckel and wife Patti of Millstadt, Illinois and Robert Moeckel and wife Sharon of Eldon, Missouri; three sisters, Lil Lutker and husband Gary of Eldon, Missouri, Lorene Mazdra of St. Louis, Missouri and Sherry Zehnde and husband Jim of Dimondale, Michigan; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri Funeral services were private. Burial was in the Metcalf Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
