MO Local Obituaries for the Week of September 30, 2009 Richard Thomas Bohnenkamp Richard Thomas Bohnenkamp was born September 22, 1935 in St. Louis, Missouri to Elmer and Jean Bohnenkamp and passed away on Friday, September 25, 2009 at his home in Cherryville, Missouri at the age of 74 years. On September 14, 1982, he was united in marriage to Dorothy (Dottie) Townsley in Cherryville, Missouri. Richard was a firefighter in the city of St. Louis, Missouri and retired in August of 1986 after 26 years. He is survived by his wife, Dottie of the home; three sons, Dan Bohnenkamp of St. Charles, Missouri and Mike Bohnenkamp of O’Fallon, Missouri and Mark Evans and wife Rosa of Rolla, Missouri; one daughter, Diana Lea and husband Rick of Cuba, Missouri; nine grandchildren; three great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. A private family burial was held Sunday, September 27, 2009 at Freeman Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri. Prayers were by Father James Finder. Edith Cornick Edith Cornick nee Hutson of Steelville, Missouri was born on Wednesday, November 20, 1940 in Steelville, Missouri to Santa Hutson and Rose Oxendine Hutson and passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Missouri Baptist Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 68 years, 10 months and 3 days. Edith was united in marriage to William David Cornick on May 24, 1969 at the Steelville Presbyterian Church, by Rev. Charles Likely and to this union four children were born. As a child she attended First Baptist Church in Steelville. Edith worked many years at Brown Shoe Factory and San Val Inc. in Steelville, but most importantly she was a homemaker. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Santa and Rose Hutson; sister, Grace Rogers and brothers-in-law, Ward Finney and Ed Conaway. Curtis Morton Eells Curtis Morton Eells of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 27, 1931 in Seattle, Washington to Curtis Robert Eells and Dorothy Helen Hornum Eells and passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 23 days. Curtis married Marilyn Hager in 1954 and to this union four children were born. Curtis previously lived in Cottage Grove, Oregon where he retired from the U.S. Forestry Service as a forest ranger. He married Irene Frances Sindelar in Yahats, Oregon on August 27, 1995. He enjoyed gardening, hiking, and outdoor photography. He was a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and attended Change of Heart Church in Cuba, Missouri. Curtis was always helping others in their time of need. He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Dorothy Eells and wife, Marilyn Eells. Joseph John Schlueter Joseph John Schlueter of Cuba, Missouri was born on December 13, 1948 to John J. Schlueter and Marie Maloney Schlueter in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2009 at the age of 60 years. Joseph married Charlene Henson on October 25, 1975 in Ozora, Missouri. He worked as a Geologist for the Missouri Department of Natural Resources. He was an avid outdoorsman and a loving family man. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Marie Schlueter and brother, John Schlueter. He is survived by his wife, Charlene of the home; sisters-in-law, Sharon Schlueter of Bellflower, Missouri, Mary Beth Lumpkin of Camdenton, Missouri and Janet Beall of Georgia; brother-in-law, Mathew Henson of Minnith, Missouri; nieces and nephews, John, Joseph, Thomas, and Michael Schlueter, Beth and Dane Basler, Drue and Jared Spiers, Jackie Beall, and Denise Nitchlos; other relatives and friends. Marseda Elizabeth Sherman Marseda Elizabeth Sherman of Suwanee, Georgia, was born in Cuba, Missouri on March 19, 1924, to Edward and Sallie Mae (Crowder) Souders and passed away Monday, September 21, 2009 at Northside Hospital in Atlanta at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 2 days. On May 28, 1949 she was united in marriage to Chester W. Sherman. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She taught elementary school for 38 years in Owensville, Cuba and Ellisville. She moved to Georgia five years ago to live with her son and family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester and brother, Don Souders. She is survived by her son, John Sherman and wife Linda of Suwanee, Georgia; grandchildren, Matthew Sherman, Carrie Woodard and Adam Sherman; great grandchildren, Carson and Olivia Woodward, Tristan Sherman and Kathryn Sherman; sister, Augusta Thiess of Chicago, Illinois; other relatives and friends. Tomazi of Rosati, Missouri, was born on June 24, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Leon R. and Viola Morris and passed away Saturday, September 26, 2009 at her home at the age of 63 years. Jane grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and moved to the Rosati area in 1969 and has been a member of St. Anthony’s Parrish since that time. She worked at Leo Cardetti’s Restaurant in Rosati and Rolla as a cook and manager for many years. She was well known for her cakes and chocolate candies. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon and Viola Morris. She is survived by four children, Brian Tomazi and wife Brenda Carrell of Cuba, Missouri, Caroline Parlor and husband Danny of Florida, Jason Tomazi and Sarah Tomazi of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, Jim Morris and wife Sandy of St. Charles, Missouri and Mike Morris and wife Christine of Isanti, Minnesota; three sisters, twin sister Joyce Wiese and husband David of Camdenton, Missouri, Kathline Remstedt of Wentzville, Missouri and Marie Payne and husband Denver of Advance, Missouri; three grandchildren, Leanne and Sophia Parlor of Florida and Burke Carrell and wife Darcy of St. James, Missouri; great grandchildren, Ava and Cady Carrell of St. James, Missouri. Willadean Walker Willadean Walker of Rolla, Missouri formerly of St. James, Missouri was born in Everton, Arkansas on October 16, 1946 to Oda and Etta (Mills) Moore and passed away September 21, 2009 in Union, Missouri at the age of 62 years. Willadean was the youngest child in a family of 10 children. Growing up on a farm in Searcy County, Arkansas provided her with a range of beautiful images from which to begin her creative lifestyle. After graduating high school, she attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago where she earned her degree in Christian Education. She was united in marriage to Wayne Walker on May 29, 1968 and to this union three children were born. Willadean was a member of the Weston Grove Baptist Church; she also attended the Rolla Bible Church. She loved to write poetry and after writing several poems she had her book published. She worked for the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri until her retirement after 23 years of dedicated service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oda and Etta Moore; four brothers; two sisters; one granddaughter, Brittany Walker. She is survived by her husband, Wayne Walker of their home in Rolla, Missouri; children, MaLisa Toddy and husband Terry of Steelville, Missouri, Karen Walker of St. James, Missouri, Stephanee Walker of Rolla, Missouri; brothers, Ray Moore and wife Robbie of Everton, Arkansas, Elmer Moore and wife Evalee of Harrison, Arkansas; sisters, Kathleen Ramsey of Western Grove, Arkansas, Jaqueline Tennison and husband Carnell of Harrison, Arkansas; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; other relatives and friends. Crabtree and Emma (Turnbough) Crabtree and passed away September 12, 2009 at the Community Care Center of Lemay, Missouri at the age of 94 years, 11 months and 21 days. She was preceded in death by her parents, Carac and Emma Crabtree; her husband, Harry L. Wood; son, Bill Wood; brother, Orville Crabtree; two brothers-in-law, Harold Turnbough and Jake Adams.
