Dotson Chandler and passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the age of 71 years, 4 months and 19 days. Montie married Etta Watts in Wheaton, Illinois on February 17, 1982. For several years he worked as a machinist in the tool industry, manufacturing fasteners. His hobbies were deer hunting, fishing and enjoyed singing. He was a born again Christian and had attended Trinity Chapel in Leasburg, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Don, Claude and Norman Chan-dler; sister, Lorrie (Frank) Jelinek and Donna Willhite; brothers-in-law, Bill Caulder, Gene Dicus, Elmer Pyatt and Lawrence Stricklin. Irma Irene Cottrell Irma Irene Cottrell of Florissant, Missouri, was born October 1, 1926 in Davisville, Missouri, the daughter of Claude Albert and Effie Louisa (Harris) Martin and passed away Friday, September 14, 2007 at the age of 80 years. On July 1948, Irma was united in marriage to Burton Cottrell and to this union one daughter was born. She was employed as an office manager in the home building trade in St. Louis for many years. She was a member of the Florissant Assembly of God Church and a member of Missouri Legionettes. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Merle Martin and one sister, Shirley Schirmer and husband Richard. She is survived by her daughter, Judith Cottrell of Florissant, Missouri; one brother, Herschel Martin and wife Betty of O’Fallon, Missouri; one sister, Mary Lucille Turnbough of Pevely, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Alline Cottrell of Steelville, Missouri and Rilma Mash and husband Tom of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Bill Cottrell of St. Clair, Missouri and Ronald Cottrell of Florida; other relatives and friends. Hartung was born in Crawford County, Missouri, near Steelville, Missouri, in April of 1938 to Willard and Oma (Richardson) Hartung and passed away Saturday, September 1, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Chesterfield, Missouri at the age of 69 years. He was a graduate of Bourbon High School, after which he was inducted into the U.S. Air Force where he honorably discharged. He worked for a time at the Bourbon Ready Mix and later became a truck driver through Teamsters Local No. 600. After a time he became an owner/operator of his own trucking company and later took a disability retirement. September 7, 1968 he was united in marriage to Barbara McKee in Overland, Missouri and to this union three sons were born. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Willard Hamilton Hartung in infancy; a brother, Martin Hartung and a sister, Joan Summers. James Riley Jose James Riley Jose was born March 26, 1939 to Louis Michael and Evelyn (Hampton) Jose and passed away at his home in St. James, Missouri, September 3, 2007 at the age of 68 years, 5 months and 8 days. He served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1963. He loved to hunt and fish and also enjoyed woodcrafts. He was preceded in death by his parents. Robert Cecil Martin Robert Cecil Martin was born January 14, 1929, the son of Robert Clark “Dick” and Frona May Trask Martin and passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at his home at the age of 78 years. He was united in marriage to Floye “Flo” Irene Bryant on September 1, 1951 in Davisville, Missouri. He was a faithful member of the Center Ridge Pentecostal Church in Cherryville, Missouri. He worked at Cupples Corporation and Chrysler. Later they purchased the Ozark Café in Steelville and he became known as a professional pie maker. He would get up early in the mornings and make pies for the restaurant. Cecil and Flo sold the restaurant in 1972 and he went to work for the State Highway Department in Cherryville, Missouri. He served in the US Army from 1951 to 1953. For many years he served as a member of the Steelville Fire Protection District, Cherryville House Two. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda Fae Brown and sister, Anna May White. He is survived by his wife of 55 years; one son, Bobby Martin and wife Vicky of Cherryville, Missouri; two grandchildren, Stacy Lynn Brown of Cuba, Missouri and Cody Martin of Cherryville, Missouri; three brothers, Albert Martin and wife Lorene of Steelville, Missouri, Henry Martin and wife Bonnie of Davisville, Missouri and Jim Martin and wife Betty of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters, Roberta White and Mabel Volner, both of Steelville, Missouri. William Charles Maxey William Charles Maxey of Sullivan, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Harry H. and Delhia (Barrett) Maxey on June 2, 1914 in Dalton City, Illinois and passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 in St. Clair, Missouri at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 9 days. He retired after many years as a cattle rancher. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Rick and Edwin Maxey; four brothers, Hurshel, Melvin, Omer and George Maxey; three sisters, Ruby Shelton, Georgia and Lorraine Maxey. Jesse loved bull riding, going on mud runs and four wheeling. He was employed as a tree trimmer for Hentges Tree Service in Warrenton, Missouri. Jeffrey David Ruwwe Jeffrey David Ruwwe was born on August 1, 1964 and passed away after a long illness on August 29, 2007 at the age of 43 years. Lawrence Allen Storey Lawrence Allen Storey of Steelville, Missouri was born Saturday, June 26, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri the son of Claude Albert and Elizabeth (Cox) Storey and passed away at his home on Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the age of 59 years. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Leisler on July 12, 1969 and to this union three children were born. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Theodore Michael Storey. He is survived by his wife; two sons, Joseph Storey and wife Mary of Steelville, Missouri and Lawrence Allen Storey Jr. and fiancé Linda of Cuba, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kevin Davis, Amanda Davis, Amanda Johndrow and James Derleth; two great grandchildren, Jada Schmidt and Addison Sanders. Strauser of Sullivan, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri to Norman M. and Alice (Collins) Strauser and passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital Saturday, September 8, 2007 at the age of 79 years. He was a graduate of Sullivan High School in 1946 and later attended Missouri University of Rolla. On December 20, 1946 he was united in marriage to Barbara J. Cartwright and to this union five children were born. For a time he was in a partnership with his brother as an owner and operator of the former Champion Roller Mill. In 1966, he formed the Maramec Valley Broadcasting Company with his brother-in-law and created KTUI Radio in Sullivan, Missouri. He was elected an alderman for 14 years and later elected mayor of Sullivan, Missouri, which he served 10 years. During his years as alderman, he worked with the city council to bring about the construction of the former Sullivan Community Hospital now known as Missouri Baptist Hospital-Sullivan. While he retired from the city’s political scene, he still farmed some 350 acres of land and until recently, was the Sunday morning voice of KTUI radio. He received the Distinguished Service Award from the Junior Chamber of Commerce and later received the Pioneer Award from the Sullivan Chamber of Commerce. He was a member and Past Master of Sullivan Lodge #69 A.F. & A.M. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Geoffrey David and a brother, Claude “Tuck” Strauser. He is survived his wife; three sons. Greg Strauser of St. Louis, Missouri, Doug Stauser and wife Joan of Sullivan, Missouri and Tom Strauser also of Sullivan, Missouri; one daughter, Trish Lueken and husband Steve of Eureka, Missouri; three sisters, Kate Klauser of Sullivan, Missouri, Louise Rice of St. Louis, Missouri and Grace Ann Newman of Sullivan, Missouri; nine grandchildren; other relatives and friends. He had been employed as a mechanic in the tractor equipment business. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Carl, George and Donny Zorn; three sisters, Mary Lee Overy, Gloria Ann Steed and Lena Zorn.
