Rosemary Minnie Barnes
Rosemary Minnie Barnes of St. Clair, Missouri, formerly St. Louis, Missouri,
was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 13, 1924 to Jack and Alice Rose
(nee Nunn) Ford and passed away Friday, September 21, 2012 in St. Clair,
at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 8 days.
On July 30, 1942, she married Robert Earl Barnes, Sr. and seven children
came to bless this union.
Rosemary was a Christian and was of the Catholic faith. During her younger
years, she had been a member of the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and
the VFW Ladies Auxiliary, Post 37, both in St. Louis, Missouri. From 1938
to 1940 she worked at the Small Arms factory in St. Louis, Missouri. She
was later employed for about 20 years by Midwest Card Factory in St. Louis
as a laborer and packer. For the next 13 working years, she was employed
as a waitress at the Casaloma Ballroom in St. Louis, retiring in 1994.
Rosemary had a variety of interests and hobbies throughout her life
including gardening, dancing, playing bingo and especially going to
“The Boat.” Spending time outdoors was a favorite pastime. What meant the
most to Rosemary was time spent with her family. Her children and grand-
children held a special place in her heart, as she did in their hearts. The
many precious memories they created will forever be cherished by them all.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Alice Ford; her husband,
Robert Barnes, Sr.; two sons, John H. Barnes and Robert Barnes, Jr.; two
daughters-in-law, Glenda Barnes and Florence Barnes; two grandsons, Joseph
Michael Barnes, Jr. and John M. Nash; and one great grandson,
Kelsoe Foster, Jr.
She is survived by three sons, Eddie Barnes of St. Louis, Missouri, Louis
Barnes and wife Patricia of Montgomery City, Missouri and Joseph Michael
Barnes Sr., known to most as Mike, and wife Shelly of Fredericktown,
Missouri; two daughters, Margaret Nonn and husband Melvin of Piedmont,
Missouri and Tina Barnes and companion Randy Nash of St. Clair, Missouri;
18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012
at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri with the
Pastor Ronald Knapp officiating.
Interment was in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis,
Missouri.

Walter Joseph Harmon, Jr.
Walter Joseph Harmon, Jr. of Leasburg, Missouri was born to Walter Joseph
and Helen M. (Grueber) Harmon, Sr. on August 27, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri
and passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 83 years.
Walter was united in marriage to Isabelle M. Narrow on April 3, 1948 in
Richmond Heights, Missouri and to this union seven children were born.
Walter retired from Paramount Apparel Company as a Production Manager after
many years of dedicated service. He served his Country honorably in the
U.S. Navy. He enjoyed baseball, fishing, hunting, bowling, genealogy and
hummingbirds, but most of all he enjoyed being a husband, father, grand-
father and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Helen Harmon, Sr.; his
daughter, Lisa Bruning; one grandson, Keith Harmon.
He is survived by his wife, Isabelle M. Harmon of Leasburg, Missouri; six
children, Walter and wife Betty Harmon, III of High Ridge, Missouri,
Patrick “Pat” and wife Judy Harmon of Hillsboro, Missouri, Steve and wife
Linda Harmon of Sullivan, Missouri, Kathleen and husband Terry Parnell of
Bourbon, Missouri, Kevin and wife Karen Harmon of Festus, Missouri, Kenneth
and wife Tammy Harmon of Leasburg, Missouri; son-in-law, David Bruning of
Japan, Missouri; 23 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; one great great
grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. at the
Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held on Thursday, September 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. at the
Mizell Funeral Home with Father James Finder, officiating.
Interment with full military honors followed at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba,
Missouri.

Wilma Hoehne-Petrungaro
Wilma Hoehne-Petrungaro of Sullivan, Missouri, was born at Butts, Missouri
on December 31, 1936 to Elmer and Florence (Doss) Harmon and passed away
at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, in Town and Country, Missouri on
Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 22 days.
She had lived the majority of her life in the Sullivan area and was self-
employed many years as an antique dealer. She was an adventurous woman who
enjoyed traveling all around the country and found enjoyment in hunting and
fishing. She was a loving and caring mother who helped others and would
“give the shirt off her back” before helping or doing for herself. She was
known as a great cook and her specialty was fried chicken and enjoyed having
her family together in her home on holidays. Wilma also had fun playing
bingo and going to yard sales. She was a born again Christian and a
spiritual woman. Wilma was also a member of the Sullivan Rebekah Lodge #319.
On September 13, 2002 she was united in marriage to Carmen Petrungaro in the
state of Arkansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Florence Harmon; a
daughter-in-law, Patricia Hoehne; two brothers, Arthur and John Harmon; a
sister in infancy, Imogene Harmon; and son-in-law, Rodger McMann.
She is survived by her husband, Carmen of the family home; one son, Keith
Hoehne of Bourbon, Missouri; two daughters, Rebecca Ann Hoehne of Gardner,
Colorado and Diane Sue Borkowski of Salt Lake City, Utah; one brother,
Paul Harmon and wife Betty of Bourbon, Missouri; three sisters, Norma
Compton and husband Harvey of Potosi, Missouri, Geraldine McMann of
Sullivan, Missouri and Joyce Snyder and husband Kenny of Cape Girardeau,
Missouri; one grandson, Joshua Hoehne of Old Monroe, Missouri;
sister-in-law, Dona Harmon; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until
time of service at 11 a.m. at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 26, 2012
from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with interment in the
Oddfellows Memorial Cemetery.

Gilbert B. Malone
Gilbert B. Malone of Seaton, Missouri was born in Seaton, Missouri on
January 17, 1939 to Bert and Nora (Burleson) Malone and passed away
Sunday, September 23, 2012 at his home at the age of 73.
Gilbert was united in marriage to Frances Ness in 1962 and to this union
two sons were born.
Gilbert proudly served his country in the United States Army. After
returning home he returned to Seaton where he and his family enjoyed
working the farm.
He worked for several years at the Holsum Bread Company in Rolla, Missouri.
He then went to work for USGS as a Water Technician he worked for 27 years
until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed deer hunting. He
was especially close to his only grandson enjoyed every moment he was able
to spend with him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Nora Malone; brother,
Wilbert Malone and sister, Kathleen Rigsby.
He is survived by his wife, Frances of the home; sons, Kyle Malone and
wife Mary of Seaton, Missouri and Matt Malone of Mineral Point, Missouri;
brother, Albert Malone and wife Laurabell of Elk Prairie, Missouri;
grandson, Levi Malone of Seaton, Missouri; brother-in-law, Armin Rigsby;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, September 25, 2012 from 5-7 p.m.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Reverend Norman
Cartwright officiating.
Music was provided by organist, Connie Rhea, and soloist, Mary Lou
Castleman.
Interment followed at the Morrison Cemetery in Dent County Missouri.

Mary Maxine Mitchell
Mary Maxine Mitchell, nee Minor, was born December 18, 1937 to William
and Bessie Genevieve Talbert Minor and passed away Thursday,
September 27, 2012 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at
the age of 74 years.
On September 17, 1955 in Mississippi she was united in marriage to Paul
Mitchell. Mary worked for the Little Sisters of the Poor in the
housekeeping department. She loved going to yard sales, cooking and time
spent with family at her home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Bessie Minor; her
husband, Paul; one son, Junior Dale; one sister, Deloris Jacques; and
one grandson, Paul Manuel.
She is survived by two sons, Paul Mitchell and wife Sandra of Cherryville,
Missouri, James Mitchell and wife Karen of Pocahontas, Illinois; four
daughters, Gayla Brock and husband Ricky of Cherryville, Missouri, Pam
Dinsmore and husband James of Arnold, Missouri, Kay Kennedy and husband
Charlie of Cahokia, Illinois and Patty Jones and husband Howard of
St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Imogene Bradley and husband Mason of
Narrows, Virginia; 15 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday,
September 29, 2012 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor
Larry Buettner officiating.
Special music of “I Will Rise,” “Sissy’s Song” and “When I get where
I’m going” was played.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Cherryville Baptist Church
Cemetery at Cherryville, Missouri.
Casket bearers were Matt Brock, Bryan Brock, Charlie Kennedy, Josh
Mitchell, Michael Mitchell and Brenden Mitchell.

Billie “Uncle Bill” Richard Ransom
Billie “Uncle Bill” Richard Ransom of Steelville, Missouri was born on
Sunday, June 16, 1935 in Steelville, Missouri to James Dewey and Nora Edna
Brown Ransom and passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2012 at the age of
77 years, 3 months and 14 days.
Bill married Marilyn Hamilton on March 20, 1959 in Potosi, Missouri.
They lived in Florrisant, Missouri most of their married life and came
out to the country most weekends. He worked as a welder at MO Boiler and
Tank Company where he served as shop steward for several years with Local
#27 of the Boiler Makers Union. He retired from MO Boiler and Tank Co. in
1995 and moved to Steelville full time. His hobbies were hunting, fishing,
running his dogs, riding horses, boat racing on the Missouri River, hot
rodding his cars and trucks, riding his 4-wheeler, Polaris RZR Razor, and
wave runner, camping, traveling in his 5th wheel trailer, and working on
his hunting farm in Cook Station.
Bill enjoyed entertaining folks and telling wild stories. He was known to
be a little bit of a practical joker and loved the reaction factor from the
wise cracks he would make. He loved to make people laugh and had his sense
of humor right up till the end.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nora Ransom; son, Kevin
Ransom; brother, James Leroy Ransom and sister, Ava Viehman.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Ransom of Steelville, Missouri; special
nieces, Erica (Justin) Mincks of Rogersville, Missouri and Erin Ransom of
Wentzville, Missouri; brothers, Lawrence Dewayne “Murf” Ransom, Steve
(Linda) Ransom, Larry (Tina) Ransom all of Steelville, Missouri, Jeff Ransom
of Viburnum, Missouri; sisters Wanda (Bill) Bogue of Cuba, Missouri, Janet
(Steve) Eckert of Steelville, Missouri and Pat (Alan) Brown of Cherryville,
Missouri; brother-in-law, Bud Viehman; sisters-in-law, Elaine Ransom and

Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson and Rev. Mike Cooper

Ernest G. Reed
Ernest G. Reed of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 4, 1932 in
Poplar Bluff, Missouri to Floyd Rollo and Laville Maddox Reed and passed
away in his home on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 at the age of 79 years and
9 months.
Ernest achieved his Masters in Education and taught elementary children
in the Viburnum Public School for 33 years. He taught three generations
of children and was beloved by many students throughout the 44 years of
his teaching career. He also, had served as a Boy Scout leader for
several years. His hobbies were fishing, canoeing, floating the rivers,
shooting pool and watching the St. Louis Cardinal ball team.
He married Joan Lee Sherman on October 4, 1980 in Florissant, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Laville Reed.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Sherman Reed of Cuba, Missouri;
children, George Ernest Wilson of Dallas, Texas, Frank Sherman (Eileen)
Davis of Lindenhurst, Illinois, Marty (Lorna) Reed of St. Ann, Missouri,
Charles Phillip (Linda) Davis of Boulder, Colorado, Rachel (Craig)
Goeckeritz of San Antonio, Texas, Linda Rios and Michael (April) Reed
of Los Angeles, California; sister, Floy (Mason) Wheeler of Marion,

Marion Dale Rotz
Marion Dale Rotz of Davisville, Missouri was born on Tuesday,
July 4, 1939 in Moline, Illinois to Herbert and Eula Bell Taylor Rotz
and passed away in his home on Sunday, September 23, 2012 at the age
of 73 years, 2 months and 19 days.
He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. He worked
as a mechanic for the railroad and was a former union steward for I&M
Rail link. He was a member of the Brotherhood of the 3rd Wheel Trike
Club and Tropical Fish Club. He moved seven years ago from Rock Island,
Illinois to property near Viburnum, Missouri.
He married Carol Ruth Sackett on March 26, 2005.
He enjoyed working on engines and was proud of his mechanical ability.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Eula Rotz.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Rotz of Davisville, Missouri; children,
Bryan Rotz of Knoxville, Iowa, Marion (Jessica) Rotz of Guernsey, Wyoming,
Heather Rotz of Dixon, Missouri, Julia (Doug) Harrison of Cabool,
Missouri and Diane (Sam) Hill of Eunice, Missouri; siblings, Sherman
(Carmelle) Rotz and Joyce (James) Lenth of Moline, Illinois and David

Mary Lou Trask
Mary Lou Trask formerly of Cuba, Missouri and Sullivan was born
September 23, 1927 at Chesterfield, Missouri to Albert and Mary Edith
(nee Strauser) Moss and passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Conroe,
Texas at the age of 85 years and 4 days.
Mary was united in marriage to Harry Eugene Trask on September 3, 1948
at St. Louis, Missouri and to this union four children were born.
Mary had worked as a nurse’s aide at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in
Sullivan before retiring. Several years after retirement Mary and Harry
moved to Texas to be closer to their family. Mary could sew any style of
clothing and was known for her excellent cooking, especially her baking
of bread, pies and cakes. What she always enjoyed most was spending time
with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Mary Edith Moss;
husband, Harry Eugene Trask in May 2008; daughter-in-law, Doris Trask;
two brothers, Wilson Daniel Moss and Daniel A. Moss; two sisters, Wilma
Wheeler and Alma Armstrong; brother-in-law and Robert “Bob” Trask.
She is survived by her children, Mark Trask of Greenfield, Missouri,
Jim Trask of Meteetse, Wyoming, Fonda and husband John Phillips and
Shauna and husband Neil Jacobs, all of Conroe, Texas; sister, Adele
Landers of Nixa, Missouri; brother-in-law, Albert and wife Elsie Trask
of Litchfield, Illinois; sisters-in-law, Audrey Hubbard of St. Louis,
Missouri and Doris and husband Harry Lott of Michigan; 11 grandchildren;
24 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 5, 2012 at
the Cave Springs Cemetery, Spring Bluff, Missouri.

Samuel Melvin Witt
Samuel Melvin Witt of Sullivan, Missouri was born September 18, 1924
in the Pea Ridge area near Sullivan, Missouri to John Edward and Dora
Josephine Dilks Witt and passed away at his home on Saturday,
September 29, 2012 at the age of 88 years.
Samuel joined the U.S. Army in January 1943 at the age of 18 and served
in Europe receiving three Bronze Stars for campaigns in Rhineland,
Normandy and Northern France.
He and Fern Marie Bandy were married August 8, 1947 in Sullivan,
Missouri.
He was a member of the 1st Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
Samuel worked as an aircraft inspector for what is now the Boeing Co.
from 1952 until his retirement in 1984. He was known as Mr. Fix-it to
his family and friends and loved to work with wood, he would whittle
hickory whistles for the kids. He also enjoyed traveling, he and Fern
traveled to England, Hawaii, Guam and Okinawa. But mostly he loved his
children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He gave his children
his love for the woods. Spring was for mushroom hunting, listening to
peep-frogs and sassafras tea.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Dora Witt; a son,
Samuel Stephan; three brothers, Walter, Charles (Bud) and Bruce Witt
and a grandchild, Patrick Witt.
He is survived by his wife, Fern of the home; four sons, Sam Witt and
wife Bonnie, Larry Witt and wife Peggy, Mark Witt and wife Tina, all of
Sullivan, Missouri and Steve Witt and wife Richelle of Camirillo,
California; two daughters, Linda O’Brien and husband John of Sullivan,
Missouri and Jill Butters and husband Michael of Sarasota, Florida; four
brothers, his twin Richard Witt of Waterloo, Illinois, Harry Witt of
Tacoma, Washington, Donald Witt of Warrenton, Missouri and Jerry Witt of
Cuba, Missouri, a sister, Josephine Witt of Sullivan, Missouri;
18 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 6, 2012
at the First Baptist Church in Sullivan with the Rev’s Kirk Parnell and
Ted Hurley Officiating.
The family will be receiving guests from 9 a.m. till service time.
Military honors will be provided by the Missouri Honors Team.
