MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 3, 2018 Joy Renae Asher Joy Renae Asher of Steelville, Missouri was born on March 28, 1962 at St. Mary's Hospital in Clayton, Missouri to Fritz William Asher and Ann Lee (Jenkins) Asher and passed away on Tuesday, S eptember 25, 2018 at the age of 56 years, 5 months and 28 days. Joy attended Steelville Schools and graduated in the class of 1980. She joined the Air Force afterwards for 4 1/2 years. In 1991 she graduated with an Associates Degree in Applied Science and Marketing Management from Belleville Area College. Later, she worked at various car dealerships as a customer service representative. She had attended the First Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri. She enjoyed to travel, to go camping and go fishing. She also enjoyed baking and cooking. She loved her cat Cuddles. Joy was such a giving person and always gave things to those she loved. She was preceded in death by grandparents, William and Hazel (Worley) Asher and Paul and Anna (Bailey) Jenkins. She is survived by her parents, Fritz and Anna Asher of Steelville, Missouri; sister, Carol Harwood of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Celebration of Life with full military honors followed at 6:30 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Beers and Pastor Darrell Nichols officiating. The family chose cremation as the final disposition. Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Donna Lee Cunningham Donna Lee Cunningham (nee Payne) of Nixa, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born January 23, 1932 in Browning, Missouri to Alfred B. and Rebecca Baker Payne and passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 86 years. She married Sherman Cunningham in 1948. Donna graduated from Steelville High School. She worked until retirement at the University of St. Louis in data processing and later moved to be near her family in the Springfield, Missouri area. Donna attended the Nixa Assembly of God Church and enjoyed spending time at the Nixa Senior Center. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Rebecca Payne; sisters, Lois Terry and Iva Clark; and brothers, Victor and Gerald Payne. She is survived by one son, Ronald A. Cunningham and wife Joi of Sagamore Hills, Ohio; one daughter, Carol Ansley and husband David of Springfield, Missouri; one brother, Eugene Payne of Bourbon, Missouri; one sister, Margaret Beasley of Valley Park, Missouri; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from noon until the graveside service on Saturday, September 29, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. at the Steelville Cemetery with son, Ron Cunningham giving the eulogy. Special music of "Amazing Grace" was sung by Family and friends. Billy Joe Dicus Billy Joe Dicus of Cuba, Missouri was born October 30, 1945 in Steelville, Missouri to Fred and Hazel Humphrey Dicus and passed away Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 72 years. Billy married Bonnie Shoen. Billy served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was employed at the Chrysler Plant in St. Louis, Missouri retiring after 30 years. He attended the Coffee Community Church and enjoyed fishing, riding in the pontoon boat and tinkering with lawn mowers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Hazel Dicus; step-son, Keith Smith; and three brothers, Richard Dicus, Louis Dicus and Allan Dicus. Michelle Fowler Michelle Fowler of Sullivan, Missouri, was born on September 18, 1966 in Ellisville, Missouri, to Curtis and Ruby (Layne) Palmer and passed away on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at the age of 52 years. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan, Missouri, graduating in 1984. Michelle married Mike Fowler in 1987. They settled in the Sullivan area and Michelle worked at various factory jobs, including Harmon Becker. She was a manager at the Mobil gas station on Springfield Road for a while and then she worked at Henniges Automotive in New Haven, Missouri until she was no longer able to work due to her illness. Michelle had many hobbies, which included gardening, camping and swimming. She loved spending time outdoors and was always mentioning that she couldn't get enough sunshine. She enjoyed attending concerts and had a very special love for her cat, Roger. Her most recent highlight was this past July, when she enjoyed her first trip to the beach with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curtis and Ruby Palmer; one sister, Cathy Moss; and sister-in-law, Kathy Palmer. James Edward Joiner James Edward Joiner of St. James, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born September 28, 1952 at Paducah, Kentucky to Lawrence and Shirley (nee Rushing) Joiner and passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at the age of 65 years. James served in the United States Army from November 23, 1982 till November 22, 1986. He earned the Army Service Ribbon, Army Lapel Button, Army Good Conduct Medal, Marksman Qualification Badge M-16 Rifle and the Sharpshooter Qualification Badge Hand Grenade. He was a General Construction Equipment Operator for three years and eight months while serving the Army. He worked at Can-Tex in Rolla, Missouri for several years before going to work in Sullivan, Missouri at Aerofil Technology. James worked at Aerofil until his health began to decline. James and Mary moved to St. James, Missouri after he retired. He spent hours watching basketball and wrestling. He was an avid motorcycle enthusiast and he collected all kinds of motorcycle memorabilia. James favorite past time was spending time and going for walks with his poodle Spike. James married Mary A. Whiteside Koch on May 18, 1985 at Cuba, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Joiner; one brother, Jeffery Joiner; and step daughter-in-law, Julie Koch. Jackie Myers Jackie Myers (nee Walton) of Owensville, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born on August 26, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frances E. and Jean Lupardus Walton and passed away on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the age of 87 years and 29 days. Jackie married David A. Myers on March 27, 1948 in Murry, Kentucky Jackie worked at Mar-Bal, Inc. in Cuba, Missouri for many years. She previously was an active member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Cuba, Missouri. Her hobbies were sewing, crafts and camping. She had attended the St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Cuba, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Jean Walton; husband, David A. Myers; brothers, Stanley Perdue, Pat (Carol) Perdue, Michael Perdue, Danny Perdue and Monte Perdue; sisters, Frances Scholl, Judy (Al) Puddy, Linda McConnell and Cynthia Chapman; sister-in-law, Sara Perdue; brothers-in-law, Paul Myers, Leroy Myers, Joe Myers and Red Eaton; and great granddaughter, Stacy Boyer. Steven Franklin Williams Steven Franklin Williams of Rolla, Missouri was born to Richard Franklin and Alberta Maxwell Williams on July 12, 1963 in Rolla, Missouri and passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the age of 55 years. He was united in marriage to Liz Tomek. Although his body was toughened from the many years of weight lifting, he had a very tender heart. He worked as an electrician for Cypress Fairbanks School District in Texas for 23 years. He loved spending time with his family and being outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, hunting deer and turkeys, camping and floating. He was a member of the Grace Bible Church in Rolla, Missouri. He had just accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard; brother, Gregory Albert Williams; and nephew, Cooper Dean Williams. He is survived by his mother, Alberta; his wife, Liz; two sons, Tyler Williams of Waynesville, Missouri and Travis Williams; granddaughter, Tallulah Belle Williams of Charleston, South Carolina; brother, Mark Richard Williams and wife, Rachael; nephew, Isaac Williams; other relatives and friends.
