MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 4, 2017 Helen Loretta Baker Helen Loretta Baker of Rolla, Missouri, formerly of Salem, Missouri and Wynne, Arkansas, was born on Thursday, July 13, 1944 in Wynne, Arkansas to John Charles and Laura Mae (Reynolds) Baker and passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the age of 73 years, 2 months and 14 days. Helen accepted the Lord at a young age and attended Assembly of God Churches. She was a member of Levesque Assembly of God Church, Wynne, Arkansas. She married Douglas Hand and to this union one daughter was born. On November 26, 1965 she married Eddie Arnold Carpenter and to this union three daughters were born. She spent most of her adult life in Wynne, Arkansas where she worked at Levi Strauss and Company. She later moved to Salem, Missouri and resided there for four years, then spent three years in Camden, Tennessee before ending up in Rolla, Missouri. Her hobbies were fishing and crossword puzzles. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Laura Baker; husband, Eddie Arnold Carpenter; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Carpenter and Earnestine Carpenter; and an infant brother. Bonnie Mae Barton Bonnie Mae Barton (nee Harris) of Cherryville, Missouri was born May 13, 1931 in Davisville, Missouri to James "Tommy" and Bessie Jane Bettorf Harris and passed away Saturday, September 30, 2017 at the age of 86 years, 4 months and 17 days. In June of 1948 she married Eldon Barton. Bonnie attended Midland Pentecostal Assembly Church for many years. She enjoyed traveling, flower gardening, crocheting, quilting and embroidering. She loved to sing and play the piano since she was 13 years old. Malikai Andrew Friedmann Malikai Andrew Friedmann of Steelville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, September 16, 2014 in Washington, Missouri to Alan and Chelsey M. (Martin) Friedmann and passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the age of 3 years and 11 days. Malikai was all boy and full of zest for life. He loved airplanes and tractors. Like most boys, he hated baths with the same passion with which he enjoyed playing in the dirt. He enjoyed playing with the kitty cats. He loved his blanket, affectionately dubbed "Night Night", and he took it with him everywhere. He was always excited and appreciative when Night Night got a fresh washing, even as he headed straight out to the dirt with it again. James married Mary Ellen Wilson on July 27, 1962 in Dittmer, Missouri and to this union two children were born. He retired as an electrician at Sachs Electric Co. in St. Louis, Missouri and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Union Local No. 1. He made his home in Cuba, in 2003. After Mary Ellen's passing in February 28, 2015 he married Melba Barks on March 18, 2017 in Sullivan, Missouri. His passion was reading and studying his Bible. He retired in March as the pastor at True Vine Baptist Church, Sullivan, Missouri after eight years and taught Bible classes there as well. He enjoyed woodworking, auctions, flea markets and antique collecting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Lydia Sanders; parents-in-law, Thomas and Mary Wilson; first wife, Mary Ellen Sanders; and brothers-in-law, Floyd Wilson and Melvin Eftink. Shaw of Cuba, Missouri was born October 9, 1921 at Leslie, Arkansas to Hughie and Arkie (nee King) Rains and passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the age of 95 years. Greeba was united in marriage to Floyd M. Shaw on February 22, 1946 at Marshall, Arkansas. They were happily married for 69 years before Floyd passed away February 20, 2015. Greeba spent her life taking care of her family and home. Her smile would light up a room especially when she was holding a baby. Every spring she would be outside working in her garden and her flowers were the prettiest ones on the block. She would spend hours every summer canning vegetables from the garden. In her younger years Greeba sewed and embroidered. Her embroidered blocks were made into beautiful quilts. She attended the Church of God World Wide for many years, she read her bible daily and was very devout in her faith. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hughie and Arkie Rains; husband, Floyd M. Snair of Peoria, Arizona was born in Alanthus Grove, Missouri and passed away Sunday, September 24, 2017 at the age of 87 years. Shortly after her birth her parents moved to Goff, Kansas where Betty attended elementary and high school. In 1952 Betty moved to Kansas City, Missouri where she met and married Robert D. Snair. They observed their 64th wedding anniversary on September 4. Betty and Robert owned the St. James Leader-Journal from 1979-1989 when they then retired and moved to Arizona. They were members over 20 years of the Unity of Phoenix Spiritual Center. Norman Ray "Hagen" Woodall Norman Ray "Hagen" Woodall was born on Thursday, March 26, 1942 in Gorman, Texas to Norman Franklin and Corene Bernice (Stacy) Woodall and passed away on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at the age of 75 years, 6 months and 1 day. Norman accepted the Lord at a young age and attended St. Joe Baptist Church in DeLeon, Texas. He served our country in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Viburnum, Missouri. He married Mary Elizabeth Maize on June 8, 1961 in Eastland, Texas and to this union of 42 years, three children were born. He married Pam Woodall on April 9, 2014 at Coffee Community Church in Steelville, Missouri. Ray had many hobbies including calligraphy, journaling, weight lifting, stock car dirt track racing, building, making ropes and other crafts. His greatest passion was motorcycles. He restored motorcycles, cars, tractors and more. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Corene Woodall; sister, Margaret Ann (Jackie Ray) Abbe; grandsons, Dillon Ray Woodall and Norman Zachary "Zack" Huffman; and great grandson Jayden Ray Woodall.
