Marie T. Cottrell
Marie T. Cottrell, 89, Dillard, Missouri, passed away
Saturday, September 23, 2006 at the Gibbs Care Center in Steelville,
Missouri. She was born Wednesday, June 13, 1917 in Dillard,
Missouri, the daughter of James and Rebecca Worley Setzer.
Marie was united in marriage on November 16, 1935 to
Cletis W. Cottrell in Dillard, Missouri and to this union two sons,
Bob and Jim and one daughter, Geraldine were born. Cletis preceded
her in death on May 3, 1985.
She and her husband owned and operated the Dillard Store
for almost 50 years. She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian
Church in Dillard, Missouri. She enjoyed fishing with her
grandchildren and Dillard Mill. She enjoyed gardening and was eager
to show you her beautiful garden. She enjoyed cooking and shared
many memories with her kids and grandkids around the table at her
home in Dillard over wonderful home cooked meals.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her two sons,
Bob and wife Karen Cottrell of Steelville, Missouri and Jim and wife
Joyce Cottrell of Cherryville, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Holly
Cottrell, Julie Bass and husband Stephan, Corey Cottrell and wife
Tonya, Colin Cottrell and wife Stephanie, Karey Franz and husband
Jess, Lance Cottrell and wife Jodie, and Shannon Harmon and husband
Lance.
Seven great grandchildren: Paige, Hannah, Cayman, Lainee
and Chase Cottrell and Brendan and Trent Bass; one sister, Loie and
husband Marvin Dicus of Steelville, Missouri and one sister-in-law,
Jean Setzer of Cuba, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Geraldine
Markel; one granddaughter, Christina Markel; three brothers, James
Setzer, George Setzer and Kenneth and wife Thelma Setzer.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, September 25,
2006 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
Special music of "How Great Thou Art" and "Amazing
Grace" was sung by Joyce Vaught with Jerry Beers accompanying.
Serving as casket bearers were Lance Cottrell, Colin
Cottrell, Corey Cottrell, Stephan Bass, Holly Cottrell, Shannon
Cottrell Harmon, with committal prayers and burial in the Maple
Grove Cemetery near Dillard, Missouri.
The family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral
Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Norris Dale Eaton
Norris Dale Eaton, 70, of St. John, Missouri passed
away Sunday afternoon, September 24, 2006 at the St. John's Place.
He was born Friday, November 1, 1935 in Davisville, Missouri, the
son of Lawrence W. and Pearl Anna Martin Eaton.
He was united in marriage to Diane Price December 1,
1956 in Cherryville, Missouri.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Diane;
three sons, Dale and wife Teresa Eaton of Steelville, Missouri,
Duane and wife Kelly Eaton of St. Ann, Missouri and David of the
home in St. John, Missouri.
Five grandchildren, four step grandchildren, one foster
granddaughter, one great grandchild, two step great grandchildren,
three foster great grandchildren; three brothers, Noel and wife Tony
Eaton of Patterson, Missouri, Norman and wife Margie Eaton of
Steelville, Missouri, Garland and Rayelle Eaton of Cherryville,
Missouri and one sister-in-law, Ruth Eaton of Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, September 27, 2006
in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Coleman
officiating.
Special music of "Amazing Grace" and "Where Could I Go"
was sung by Carol and Bob Coleman.
Serving as casket bearers were Aaron Eaton, Chad Eaton,
Matt Eaton, Adam Marquez, Victor Marquez and Thomas Eaton with
committal prayers and burial in the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery in
Cherryville, Missouri.
The family was served by the Britton-Bennett of
Steelville, Missouri.
LaVerna Harper
LaVerna Harper, nee Coleman, passed away at the age of
101 at Chesterfield, Missouri, Thursday, September 21, 2006.
LaVerna was born October 30, 1904 at Huzzah, Missouri to
Samuel Blake Coleman and Ida Mae Coleman Huitt.
Survivors included a son, Ken and wife Zelma Harper.
Preceding her in death were her daughter, Alberta Harper; brothers,
Haskell Coleman and Clarence Coleman; sisters, Opal Stotler, Beulah
Benson, Geraldine Wilkerson and Matred Rand.
She had three grandchildren, Deborah and Chuck Cotner,
Tami and Tony Ricks, Lorna and Bob Jaegers. She had five great
grandchildren.
Mrs. Coleman was baptized into the hope of Christ's
Resurrection Thursday, September 21, 2006.
Funeral services were at Schraeder Funeral Home,
Manchester Road at Holloway, in Ballwin, Missouri, on Monday,
September 25, 2006 at 11:30 a.m. Interment was at Lakewood Park
Cemetery. Visitation was Sunday, September 24 from 3-8 p.m.
Dollie M. Henry
Dollie M. Henry, daughter of the late Frank Burke and
Lola (Prater) Burke, was born on May 20, 1939 in Gladden, Missouri,
and passed away September 30, 2006 at the age of 67 years, 4 months
and 10 days. She married Louie Henry on November 4, 1957 and to this
union four children were born.
Preceding her in death was her parents, Frank and Lola;
five brothers; four sisters; one grandchild and two great
grandchildren.
Dollie M. Henry was dearly loved and will be greatly
missed by her surviving family: husband, Louie, of the home in Cook
Station, Missouri; sons, Louie Henry Jr., and wife Wanda of St.
James, Missouri, Kenneth Henry and friend Shelby Shepherd of St.
James, Missouri, Frankie Henry and wife Carol of Cook Station,
Missouri; daughter, Peggy Coppedge of Cook Station, Missouri.
Brothers, Johnny Burke and wife Christy of Rolla,
Missouri, Marion Burke and wife Patsy of Fulton, Missouri and Emory
Burke and wife Carolyn of Georgia. Sisters, Gracie Tumelson and
husband Bob of Salem, Missouri, Mary Conaway and husband Johnny of
St. James, Missouri.
Grandchildren, Jamie and Elizabeth Henry, Dewayne and
Stacy Henry, Shelly, Casey, Sheena, Samantha (fiance') Zach and
Tabitha Henry and Bobbi Coppedge. Great grandchildren, Enyssa, Zoie,
Hunter, Landon, Paige, Blake Henry, Taylor Gray, Gauge Mundale and
Coby Pitts.
Visitation for family and friends was on Monday, October
2, 2006 from noon-2 p.m. prior to the service at the James & Gahr
Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Monday, October 2, 2006 at
2 p.m. at the James & Gahr Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Pastor
Casey Reed officiating.
Pallbearers were Billy Henry Jr., Billy Henry III, John
Henry, Jesse Henry, Zach Hoss, Steve Henry and DJ Henry.
Interment was at the Carr Cemetery in Crawford County.
All arrangements were under the direction of James &
Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
