MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 8, 2007 Jean Ann Brewer Jean Ann Brewer of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday July 7, 1947 at Highland, Missouri to the union of Wilber and Alberta (nee Mugler) Weber and passed away Wednesday September 26, 2007 at her home in Indian Hills at the age of 60 years,2 months and 19 days. Jean was united in marriage to Kendal Brewer on June 18, 1967 at Marine, Illinois and to this union two daughters were born. She worked as a cashier at Voss Trucking Port for several years. She enjoyed her friends at Indian Hills, shopping, butterflies, flowers, gardening but what was most important to her was her family and spending time with her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by her husband of 40 years; two daughters, Kendra and husband Andy Bylo of Sullivan, Missouri and Koren Brewer of Cuba, Missouri; her mother, Alberta Weber of Marine, Illinois; one sister, Donna Brendel of Highland, Illinois; three grandchildren, Madison, Tyler and Alex; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Thursday, September 27, 2007 from 5 till 8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 28, 2007 at Britton Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Lathum officiating. Special music was “Amazing Grace,” “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Can I Have This Last Dance.” Burial at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Paula Darlena Chumley Paula Darlena Chumley of Cuba, Missouri was born May 26, 1953 at Rolla, Missouri to the union of Darrell and Olivia (nee Hamilton) Chumley and passed away Tuesday, September 25, 2007 at the age of 54 years, 3 months and 29 days. Paula graduated from Metro Business College in Rolla, Missouri with a degree in accounting. She worked as a bakers assistant for several years and was a member of TOPS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell "Polly" and Olivia Chumley; brother, William Sumner and sister, Janet Moss. She is survived by her sister, Pamela and husband Gary Watt of Cuba, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Veronica Sumner of Cuba, Missouri; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends. Woodrow Wilson Hall Woodrow Wilson Hall of Cherryville, Missouri was born on Tuesday, December 24, 1918 in Bismarck, Missouri, to Charles T. Hall and Mary Dyer Hall. He passed away on Monday, September 24, 2007 at the age of 88 years and 9 months. Woodrow married Dorothy Lee Spearman on March 27, 1948 in St. Charles, Missouri and to this union three children were born. He served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He worked as a mechanic in the automotive industry most of his adult life. He was a member of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers Union, District 9. His hobbies were hunting, fishing, gardening and canoeing. He loved his church, First Assembly of God, and especially his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Roy and Charlie Hall; two sisters, Emma Murphy and Wilma Evans; granddaughter, Danielle Stricklin; great grandson, Michael Lee Richardson; brothers-in-law, Robert Spearman and James (Loretta) Spearman. Glen Pasch of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday, May 1, 1927 in Cuba, Missouri to John Pasch and Etta Mae Monda Pasch. He passed away at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri on Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 25 days. Glen married Rose Jane Shockley on March 20, 1954 at First Baptist Church in Cuba, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born. He served his country honorably in the United States Army following World War II. He owned his own business operating a dump truck and dozer for many years. Those who knew Glen knew he loved to work. He enjoyed teasing people and had nicknames for many of his friends and family. His dependability and love of work, brought him back to many families in Crawford County for their projects through the years. He also appreciated nature and loved mushroom hunting. He would often drive the back roads of Cuba so he could look for deer, snakes and other wildlife. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Gladys (John) Harmon; brother-in-law, Mick (Eleanora) Shockley; and father-in-law, Bill Shockley. He is survived by his wife; daughter, Vicky (Gary) Killeen; sister, Eva June Pasch; step mother-in-law, Ann Shockley, all of Cuba, Missouri; granddaughters, Dawn (Matt) Kamler of Cuba, Missouri and Molly Killeen of St. Louis, Missouri; great grandchildren, Isabella and Lincoln Kalmer; brother-in-law, Jim (Betsy) Shockley; sister-in-law, Ruth (John) McQuaide of Chesterfield, Missouri; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Shapiro of Albany, New York, formerly of Cuba, Missouri and New Smyrna Beach, Florida, was born on August 18, 1946 in St. Louis, Missouri to Edward L. and Mildred L. Shapiro and passed away on Tuesday, August 28, 2007 in Schenectady, New York at the age of 61 years and 10 days. Bruce graduated from O’Fallon High School, O’Fallon, Missouri in 1965. He served his country in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was the previous co-owner of Mechanics Tool Sales, Inc. in Cuba, Missouri and retired as a top salesman from Matco Tools of Albany, New York in 1992. He was a member of the American Legion Post in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and of Albany, New York. He was also a previous member of the U.S. Military Vets Motorcycle Club in New Smyrna Beach, Florida. He was an avid fan of dog racing, horse (harness) racing and Nascar. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife of 28 years, Joann Mettlach-Shapiro of Silver Spring, Maryland; four children, Bruce “Cam” Shapiro and fiancée Tammy Nolan of Breingsville, Pennsylvania, Samantha Kay Shapiro-Fagan and husband Jerry, Niki Ann Shapiro and Zachary Joseph Shapiro and companion Lori Bertrano of Albany, New York; brother, E. “Sam” Shapiro and wife Raylene of Circleville, Ohio; sister, Kathryn Marie Shapiro-Hempe and husband Mark of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; grandchildren, Eric, Jeremy and Daniel Fagan; nieces and nephews. Funeral and graveside services were at 1 p.m. August 31, 2007 at the Gerald B.H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, New York with full military honors.
