Bradley Edward Brawner
Bradley Edward Brawner, Jr. of Steelville, Missouri was born May 29, 1990 in
St. Louis, Missouri and passed away, Saturday, September 27, 2008 in St. Louis,
Missouri at the age of 18 years.
During high school, Bradley had been a member of the Sports Club and FFA. He
enjoyed skeet shooting while he was at the Steelville High School and in his
spare time he loved to hunt.
He is survived by his grandmother, Laura Schreiner of Steelville, Missouri;
his aunt Kelly Garrett of Steelville, Missouri; a cousin, Earon Schroeder of
Steelville, Missouri; his mother, Melissa Hart of St. Louis, Missouri; his
father, Bradley Edward Brawner Sr., of St. Mary’s, Missouri; two half-sisters,
Tonia Hart and Briana Weaver; grandmother, Nana Steelman; great grandfather,
James R. Green of Washington, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
A Memorial visitation was held on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
There will be private family burial.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Bernard Richard Brinker Jr.
Bernard Richard Brinker Jr. of Cherryville, Missouri was born on Wednesday,
August 19, 1931 to Richard Brinker, Sr. and Thelma Ann Hoppe Brinker in
St. Louis, Missouri. He passed away in his home on Thursday, October 2, 2008
at the age of 77 years, 1 month, and 13 days.
Bernard served his country honorably in the United States Navy.
He married Dolores Helen Schildroth on September 1, 1951 at St. Francis De
Sales Catholic Church, St. Louis, Missouri and to this union two children
were born.
He was a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 11th and 12th Districts
and at one time was Legionnaire of the year. He previously worked as a
foreman of the Laclede Gas Company. He enjoyed living in the country, fishing,
traveling, and spending time with family and especially grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; brothers-in-law and
sisters-in-law.
He is survived by his daughter, Debbie Susan (Rick) Land of Cherryville,
Missouri and son, Bryan (Pat) Brinker of Oakville, Missouri; grandchildren,
Gregory (Donna) Brinker of Ridgeland, South Carolina, Kimberly (Cameron)
Berry of Arnold, Missouri, and April Land of Cherryville, Missouri; great
grandchildren Alexis, Jacob and Abigale; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services and burial were Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 1:30 p.m. in
Jefferson Barracks Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors.
All arrangements are under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
Gary Lee Carey
Gary Lee Carey was born at Sullivan, Missouri on October 7, 1953 to Paul
James and Helen Loraine (Strauser) Carey and passed away at his home on
Monday, September 29, 2008 at the age of 54 years.
On November 7, 1970 he was united in marriage to Linda Gehlauf at the First
Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri and to this union three daughters were
born.
He was a 1971 graduate of Sullivan High School after which he become employed
with Community Auto Parts, working for his father-in-law as a parts manager.
He loved hunting and fishing, horseback riding and gigging with his friends.
Gary was also fond of going on Sunday afternoon rides in the country with his
family.
Gary coached his girls Khoury League team for several years and enjoyed sports
of all venues. He found pleasure in playing his guitar on Friday nights with
his friends. He also liked to put in a huge garden and growing and canning his
own tomatoes.
He was baptized into the Christian faith at First Baptist Church and was a
member there. He was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a guest
member of the Sullivan VFW.
On February 14, 2002 Gary was married to Sandra Davis at Union, Missouri.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Robert James Carey and a
sister, Mary Ann Carey.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; daughters, Tricia Blankenship and husband
Mike, Holly Blanton and husband John and Jannel Carey, all of Sullivan,
Missouri; two sisters, Betty Byrd and husband Harold of Leasburg, Missouri
and Linda Weiskopf and husband David of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren,
Addie, Zachary, Emmie, Ashley, Kobie and Kloey; sister-in-law, Dora Carey of
Panama City, Florida; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 from
Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Scott Perry
officiating. Interment was in Cave Spring Cemetery, rural Sullivan, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan,
Missouri.
Ruth Jeanette Carmack
Ruth Jeanette Carmack of Steelville, Missouri was born August 2, 1927 to
Alfred and Connie (Cole) Achurch and passed away on Monday,
September 29, 2008 at St. Johns Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age
of 81 years.
On January 4, 1946 in Steelville, Missouri, she was married to William “Bill”
Carmack who preceded her in death on October 8, 1986.
In her early years, she taught school at Westover in Crawford County.
Ruth and her husband Bill spent 19 months in Sasebo, Japan while he was a
chief petty officer in the U.S. Navy. She took her three children, ages six,
three, and nine months with her. After their time in Japan, they came back to
the U.S. in January of 1955 on a Navy transport ship. They stopped in Alaska
and went on to Seattle, Washington. Ruth and the three children went back on
a train to Missouri while her husband, Bill went back to sea.
As long as Ruth was able to drive, she attended church at Midland Pentecostal
Assembly with her daughter. In her later years, she started going to church
with two of her granddaughters at Faith Pentecostal Assembly.
In her spare time, Ruth loved to crochet.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and one son, Jon
Steven Carmack.
She is survived by her two sons, Bob Carmack and wife Ester of Steelville,
Missouri and Bill Carmack and wife Kathy of Lafayette, Indiana; one daughter,
Barb Turnbough and husband Don of Davisville, Missouri; one brother, Bill
Achurch and wife Jane of Steelville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, William
Paul Carmack and wife Kimberley, Rachel Van Dyke and husband Tony, Robert
Carmack, Jr., Chanda Schaefer and husband Tim, Jeff Turnbough and wife Norma,
Angie Turnbough, Jane Bullock, Debbie Shasserre and Brad Turnbough and wife
Tanya; 23 great grandchildren, Justin, Dalton, Alicia, Ryan, Dusty, Trevor,
Luke Brian, Brittany, Benjamin, Emily, Raquel, Chella, Landon, Nicholas,
Ryan, Jessi, Shannon, Nathan, Jordon, Justin, Ryan and Bobbi Jo; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Larry Martin
officiating. Special music of “You Were There for Me,” “I Want Us to be
Together” and “Amazing Grace” were sang and played by a trio from Faith
Pentecostal Assembly Church.
Casket bearers were Jack England, Dusty Bullock, William Carmack, Jr., Roger
Achurch, Robert Carmack, Jr., Trevor Bullock, Bradley Turnbough and Luke
Bullock.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Schwieder Cemetery in Steelville,
Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Derek Joseph Eaton
Derek J. Eaton of Leasburg, Missouri was born August 21, 1981 at Farmington,
Missouri to the union of Joey Eaton and Tammy (nee: Chilton) Eaton and
passed away Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the age of 27 years, 1 month and
14 days.
Derek is preceded in death by his Grandma and Grandpa Eaton; aunt, Claudia
Helfenstein and other family and friends.
He is survived by his father of Farmington, Missouri; his mother of
Farmington, Missouri; his foster mom and dad, Wanda and Jack Powell of
Leasburg, Missouri; one sister, Jennifer Eaton; grandparents, Mike and Jan
Chilton of Farmington, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, October 6, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home
of Cuba, Missouri.
A Celebration of Life Service was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, October 7, 2008
at Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Louis.

William D. Lemons
William “Bill” David Lemons of Cuba, Missouri was born Monday,
August 21, 1950 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Samuel and Edith
Loretta (nee Hammack) Lemons and passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 58 years, 1 month and 11 days.
William served in the United States Army during Vietnam where he earned the
Vietnam Service Medal with two Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam
Campaign Medal, Expert Rifle M-16 and the Marksman medals.
He was united in marriage to Sallye DeBeaux on August 16, 1976 in Arkansas.
He was a member of the American Legion of Cuba, Cuba VFW Post 7147, Hunting
and Fishing Association and the NRA.
William worked as an auto and diesel mechanic for most of his life and he
last worked at the Cuba Brake Parts as a trainer for the assembly line. In
his spare time he enjoyed fishing, being a master chef, playing his guitar
and singing in the band with his friends, hunting, reading and wood working,
but what was always most important to him, was his family and spending time
with them.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Rebecca Sue Lemons;
one son, Edwin (Ted) Worthen III; other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his wife of Cuba, Missouri; two sons, Donald and wife
Patty Worthen of St. James, Missouri and Jeff and Janelle Worthen of Rolla,
Missouri; three daughters, Lorri and husband Craig Hall of Rolla, Missouri,
Amanda “DeeDee” and husband Jim Mitchell of Cuba, Missouri and Lisa Lemons;
one brother, Joe and wife Loretta Lemons of Cuba, Missouri; 13 grandchildren,
Brandi, Stephen, Autumn, Audrey, Mathew, Christopher, Zackary, James, Jr.
“Mitch”, Krissy, Bethany, Josh, Dawn and Amber; nine great grandchildren
Alaysha, Tori, Alexa, Nevaeh, M.J., Nathan, John, Seth and Kaelyn; other
relatives and friends.
Memorial visitation was held Saturday, October 4, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. at
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Memorial service was at 2 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.

Philip Robert Miloshewski
Phillip Robert Miloshewski of Sullivan, Missouri was born on April 6, 1956
in St. Louis, Missouri to Alvir D. and Pauline Z. (Beers) Miloshewski and
passed away on Friday, September 26, 2008 at the age of 52 years.
He was a quiet man who enjoyed the outdoors, his work at Hussmann
Corporation, attending air shows and studying airplanes, collecting CDs
and albums, and mostly spending time with his son.
He is survived by one son, Philip Michael Richard Miloshewski of Sullivan,
Missouri; two brothers, Anthony Miloshewski of Rolla, Missouri and Ray
Miloshewski and wife Laura of Florissant, Missouri; other relatives and
friends.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 2, 2008 at the
Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Father Dennis
Zacheis officiating.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home of Sullivan,
Missouri.
Geneva Marie Scott
Geneva Marie Scott of Viburnum, Missouri, formerly of Cahokia, Illinois was
born September 3, 1918 at Huzzah, Missouri to Minus and Lottie (Bays)
Turnbough and passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at Stonecrest Healthcare
in Viburnum, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Geneva was united in marriage in 1936 at Goodland, Missouri to Herschal
“Herk” Scott who preceded her in death on February 1, 1969.
For several years, Geneva worked as a photo developer in St. Louis, Missouri.
She was a member of the Jerome Lane Baptist Church in Cahokia and attended
the Freewill Baptist Church of Viburnum, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Bill Scott;
one brother, Kenneth Turnbough; two sisters, Dolly Dudley and Rowena Huitt
and three brothers-in-law, Sonny Cole, Joe Dudley and Granville Huitt.
She is survived by one brother, Jim Turnbough and wife Opal of Fenton,
Missouri; one sister, Rose Cole of Viburnum, Missouri; one sister-in-law,
Helen Turnbough of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2008 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Turnbough and Rev. Cletis
Nichols officiating. A special poem was read by great niece, Jamie Rowe.
Special music of “I Know A Man Who Can” was sang by Micah and Bruce
Turnbough and “Precious Lord, Take My Hand” was sang by Bruce Turnbough
with JoAnn Jinkerson accompanying on piano. “How Great Thou Art” was played
by Kendall Turnbough. “Amazing Grace” was played by JoAnn Jinkerson while
friends and family joined in.
Casket bearers were David Cole, Rob Rowe, Chuck Jinkerson, Glenn Netemayer,
Lovall Scott and Kendall Turnbough.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Shoal Creek Cemetery. “Go Rest High”
was sang by Bruce Turnbough and Rev. Jerry Beers.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Peggy Ann Weaver
Peggy Ann Weaver was born on February 27, 1952 in Rolla, Missouri to George
and Myrtle (Copeland) Rinehart and passed away at her home in Hawk Point,
Missouri on Wednesday, September 24, 2008. She was 56 years, 6 months, and
28 days of age.
She was united in marriage to Wilbur Weaver on June 11, 1979 in Lancaster,
Massachusetts.
Peggy worked many years for Wal-Mart. She was baptized at the Broadway
Baptist Church in rural St. James years ago. She enjoyed collecting sheet
and vinyl records and cassettes. She also loved to work on puzzles. She was
a very good seamstress. She made her own clothes.
She was preceded in death by her father and brother-in-law, Jim Watson.
She is survived by her mother of St. James, Missouri; dear husband, Wilbur
Weaver of Hawk Point, Missouri; one son, Willie Malone of Salem, Missouri,
one daughter, Charity Jenkins of Owensville, Missouri; three sisters,
LaDonna Gregory and husband Art of Steelville, Missouri, Linda Watson of
St. James, Missouri, and Kathy Meizere and husband Ron of Manhattan, Kansas;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, September 30, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were Wednesday, October 1, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Pastor Jerry Baumann officiating.
Pallbearers were Darel Speinhardt, Willie Malone, Ronnie Meizere, Jeffrey
Watson, George Watson and Clayton Deese.
Burial was in the family plot in the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery in
rural St. James, Missouri.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Candice L. White
Candice Lynne White of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, March 14, 1981 at
Washington, Missouri to the union of Joseph White and Carolyn
(nee Vandervoort) Wells and passed away Monday, September 29, 2008 at
Rolla, Missouri at the age of 27 years, 6 months and 15 days.
Candice enjoyed music of all kinds, rode trips to the Lake of the Ozarks,
singing, cooking, shopping and hanging out with her friends. But what was
the most important thing to her was family and spending time with them.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Loretta White, William
Vandervoort and Dempsey Wells; other relatives and friends.
She is survived by two sons, Cameron William Britt and Zachery Joseph
Thurmond; parents, Joseph M. White (Michelle) of Bourbon, Missouri and
Carolyn and husband Charles Wells of Cuba, Missouri; one sister, Amanda
Barnett of Columbia, Missouri; two half-sisters, Gail White of Cottage
Hills, Illinois and Alyssa White of Bourbon, Missouri; grandparents, Leila
Vandervoort of Cuba, Missouri, Joseph White of Leasburg, Missouri and
Jackie Wells of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 2, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 3, 2008 at Britton Funeral
Home of Cuba with Pastor Gary Mace officiating. Special music for the service
is “When I Get to Where I’m Going” and “Remember When.”
