Michael T. Brinkman
Michael T. Brinkman was born in Clayton, Missouri on February 12, 1966 to
William Brinkman and Beverly Joann (Clark) Bishop and passed away
October 2, 2009 in West Carrolton, Ohio at the age of 43 years.
At the time of his death Michael was attending culinary school. He loved
cooking and entertaining family and friends. He was known for his kind heart
and gentle spirit, taking care of those he loved when they needed him.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Brinkman and grandfather,
Joseph Norris.
He is survived by his mother, Joann Bishop and step father Dallas Bishop of
Ballwin, Missouri; brother, David Brinkman and wife Karen of Ballwin,
Missouri; sister, Nicole Wissler of Chesterfield, Missouri; grandmother,
Doris Norris of Kirkwood, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral service on Thursday, October 8, 2009 at 1 p.m. in the St. James
chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor C.R. Curtman officiating.
Interment in the St. James Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary, St. James,
Missouri.
Harold E. Carroll
Harold Everett Carroll, of Dixon, Missouri, was born on March 13, 1924 at
Iberia to John Marion and Emma Victoria (McMillian) Carroll, and passed
away Wednesday, September 30, 2009, in the Phelps County Regional Medical
Center, Rolla at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 17 days.
Harold was united in marriage on January 8, 1949, at Waynesville to Ruby
Lee Creamer.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Dixon. He was a United States
Army veteran and a member of the Leismann-Roberts American Legion
Post No. 298, Dixon, for 62 years. He had worked for the Post Engineers,
Fort Leonard Wood, retiring after 25 years. He enjoyed the maintenance and
repairing of lawn mowers, traveling, playing cards and other games.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Emma Carroll; two
brothers, Ernest Carroll and David Carroll; two sisters, Lorene Anderson
and Clara Moss.
He is survived by his wife, Ruby Carroll of the home in Dixon, Missouri;
three brothers, Sidney Carroll of Ft. Worth, Texas, Ralph Carroll of Cuba,
Missouri and Bob Carroll of Dixon, Missouri; four sisters, Dorothy Curry
of Crocker, Missouri, Blanche Barnett and Betty Cross, both of Dixon,
Missouri and Jane Rigsby of Springfield, Missouri; other relatives and
friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2009 in the
Dixon Chapel of the Birmingham-Martin Funeral Homes with Rev. Brandon
McCombs, pastor First Baptist Church, Dixon and Bro. Rocky Carroll,
officiating.
Rocky Carroll sang “Amazing Grace” and a selection of “Go Rest High On That
Mountain” was played for the funeral service.
Interment with full military honors under the auspice of the Leismann-
Roberts American Legion Post No. 298, was in the Dixon Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Zach Shepherd, Kevin Shepherd, Jeffery Creamer, Dennis Cross,
Sam Hayes, Lynn Whitten, Tony Stevens, Mike Barnett, Rob Bowling and Randy
Terry. Honorary pallbearers were Corey Terry, Chad Terry, Kyle Terry and Carl
Shepherd.

Martin Funeral Homes.
Gerald Wayne Copeland
Gerald Wayne Copeland of St. James, Missouri was born September 24, 1941 at
St. James, Missouri to Leslie and Ruth (Jones) Copeland and passed away at
his home on October 1, 2009 at the age of 68 years and 7 days of age.
On September 24, 1975 at St. James, Missouri, he was united in marriage to
Jane (Hanes) Copeland.
He is survived by wife, Jane Copeland of St. James, Missouri; daughters,
Gracie Price and husband Allen of Belle, Missouri, Anna Power and husband
Martin of St. James, Missouri; sons, Randall and Timothy Copland; brothers,
Hughie Copeland and David Copeland, both of St. James, Missouri; four
grandchildren, Rorie, Merandie and Sonya Copeland and Max Power.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2009 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 11 a.m. on Saturday October 3, 2009 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri, with Phil Cox officiating.
Burial with full military honors were at the family plot at the Miles
Cemetery near St. James, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Rose Ann Gilliam
Rose Ann Gilliam (nee Killeen) of Cuba, Missouri was born to Joseph A. and
Mabel I. (Short) Killeen on August 11, 1925 at Cuba, Missouri and passed away
Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 84 years, 1 month
and 18 days.
Rose was united in marriage to James A. Gilliam, Sr. on May 31, 1947 at Cuba,
Missouri.
Rose helped operate the Annex Cafe in Cuba for several years and later became
a homemaker. She was a parishioner of Holy Catholic Church and a member of
the Altar Society. In her spare time she enjoyed dancing, playing cards and
yard sales.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph A. and Mabel I. (Short)
Killeen; husband, James A. Gilliam, Sr.; one son, William Joseph Gilliam;
three sisters, Virginia Spencer, Sarah Prickett and Mary Carey; four brothers,
Arthur, Charles, Paul and Edwin Killeen.
She is survived by her son, James A. and wife Debbie Gilliam, Jr. of Cuba,
Missouri; daughter, Joan Krulik of Cuba, Missouri; brother, George Carey of
Eureka, Missouri; sister, Christine Gideon of Rolla, Missouri; six
grandchildren, Rhonda Ogden of Bourbon, Missouri, Donald Krulik, II of Cuba,
Missouri, Michelle Gilliam of Crestwood, Missouri, Jaclyn, James III and
Jilliann Gilliam, all of Cuba, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Lauren
Hernandez and Justin Gilliam; one great great grandson Dylan Hernandez;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 2, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. with a prayer
service at 6 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was held on Saturday, October 3, 2009 at Holy Cross Catholic
Church with Rev James Finder as the celebrant. Interment will follow at
Holy Cross Cemetery.

Missouri.
Rodney Leroy Light
Rodney Leroy Light was born on July 16, 1958 to Ronald Leroy and Marcella
June (Jackson) Light and passed away on Monday, September 28, 2009, as a
result of a motorcycle accident near Jerome, Missouri at the age of 51 years,
2 months and 12 days of age.
Rodney was united in marriage to Kelly Clark at the Church of God in
St. James, Missouri on July 16, 1981. To this union one daughter was born.
Rodney was a veteran and served his country and attended Solid Rock Christian
Church in St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella June (Jackson) Light and one
brother, Craig Light.
He is survived by his wife Kelly of the St. James, Missouri; one daughter,
Kara Light of St. James, Missouri; father, Ronald Leroy Light and wife Bonnie
of Hamburg, Iowa; three brothers, Roger Light of Fairfield, Iowa, Steve Light
of Rolla, Missouri and Bill Light of Salem, Oregon; three sisters, Juli James
and Debbie Stephens, both of Columbia, Missouri and Linda Light of Rolla,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service was conducted on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the
Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Craig Rippy officiating.
Songs were “Go Rest High On That Mountain,” “Stairway To Heaven” and “Three
Wooden Crosses.”
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Vena G. Romine
Vena G. (nee Kaiser) Romine of Steelville, Missouri, was born
January 27, 1919 in Owensville, Indiana to Edward Ernest Kaiser and Ella
Lampkins Kaiser and passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2009 at Gibbs Care
Center in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 90 years.
Vena was united in marriage to Dwight Romine.
Vena graduated from Steelville High School and afterwards attended and
graduated from University of Missouri at Columbia.
She was a schoolteacher in the public schools and started her teaching career
in Crawford County. She retired in 1978 from the Indiana School System.
In her spare time, she loved to travel and was an avid reader. She was a very
generous person to her family and supported Fairview Baptist Church and
numerous charities faithfully.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight; one brother, Cletus Kaiser
and wife Nellie; two sisters, Gladys Isgrig and husband Guy and Frieda
Hibler and husband Ralph.
She is survived by her two step sons, Ron Romine of Cincinnati, Ohio and
Jim Romine of Portland, Indiana; one step grandson, Jason Romine; 14 nieces
and nephews, Cecil Kaiser, Theresa Kelley, Jerry Kaiser, Dennis Kaiser,
Lois Richardson, Brent Kaiser, Lisa Kaiser, Dean Wymer, Diane Morhaus,
Melvin Isgrig, Neil Isgrig, Donna Isgrig, Keeven Isgrig and Alan Isgrig;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from noon until service time on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, October 1, 2009 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating. Special music of
“Wish You Were Here” and “At the Crossing” was sung by Alan Isgrig with
Mavis Vancil on piano.
Casket bearers were Dean Wymer, Diane Morhaus, Alan Isgrig, Andy Isgrig,
Cecil Kasier and Brent Kaiser.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Fairview Cemetery.

Steelville, Missouri.
Pauline “Alma” Thurmond
Pauline “Alma” Thurmond of Cuba, Missouri, was born November 22, 1954 at
Old Mines, Missouri to Harold and Gladys (Haffer) Hammond and passed away
Sunday, September 27, 2009 at St. John’s Hospital in Washington, Missouri
at the age of 54 years.
On March 24, 1974, she was united in marriage to James “Jim” Thurmond.
For several years, Alma delivered flowers throughout Missouri and Illinois
and also spent time as a cake decorator. In her spare time, she enjoyed
quilting, watching TV and playing bingo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Hammond; two brothers,
Harold Steve Hammond and Dennis Paul Hammond; and two sisters, Ina Laverne
Hammond and Ida Louise Willard.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, of Cuba, Missouri; her mother, Gladys
Hammond of Irondale, Missouri; one son, Keith Hammond of Cuba, Missouri;
one sister, Gladys Marie Woods of Irondale, Missouri; and one grandson,
Austin Michael Hammond.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until service time on Wednesday,
September 30, 2009 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville,
Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Billy Gowers
officiating.
Special memories were given by her son, Keith Hammond. Music of
“Dream On,” “Angel” and “Amazing Grace” was played.
