MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 9, 2013 Zelma “Lorene” Butts Zelma “Lorene” Butts of Cuba, Missouri was born November 30, 1917 at Max, Missouri to James Edward and Johnnie May (nee Ball) Biggs and passed away Saturday, October 5, 2013 at St. Charles, Missouri at the age of 95 years. Lorene was united in Marriage of Vondell Butts on January 31, 1936 at Salem, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Lorene worked as a beautician for many years before she retired. She attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church of Cuba, Missouri. Lorene was known for her fried chicken and chicken and dumplings. She was an excellent seamstress, made quilts and enjoyed doing ceramics. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Edward and Johnnie May Biggs; her husband, Vondell Butts; one daughter, Evelyn Thomure; two grandchildren, Michael Smith and Debbie Umfleet; one brother, Gail Biggs; brother-in-law, Zell and wife Wilma Butts. She is survived by her children, Richard Butts and wife Cindy Ehlke of Seattle, Washington and Ellen and husband Rich Fahr of O’Fallon, Missouri; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth and wife Anna Mae Biggs of Overland, Missouri, Orin and wife Clarinda Biggs of Steelville, Missouri and Dan and wife Carlena Biggs of Salem, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Allen Teal officiating. Special music was “We Shall Meet,” “In the Sweet Bye and Bye” and “Amazing Grace.” Interment and prayers followed at the Sligo Cemetery, Sligo, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Ada Dunivin Ada Dunivin of Owensville, Missouri, formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born in Argo, Missouri on May 25, 1917 to the late Edward and Minnie (Grob) Strothcamp and passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 at the PCRMC in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 96 years. Ada was united in marriage to Lee Dunivin. Never having children of their own, Lee and Ada devoted themselves to their nieces and nephews. Ada worked for many years as a retail clerk never letting that interfere with her love of her yard or her husband; She loved planting flowers and always had a big garden to share, but her greatest joy was taking care of Lee. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Minnie Strothcamp; husband, Lee; brothers, Adolph, Fred, Ben and Arthur Strothcamp; sisters, Ethel, Esther and Ruth. She is survived by her sister, Freida Weiskopf of St. Louis, Missouri; sister-in-law, Virginia Strothcamp of Sullivan, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held prior to the service from 10 a.m. until service time. Funeral services was Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Aaron Kotila officiating. Interment was in the Old Argo Cemetery in Franklin County, Missouri with Ronald Strothcamp, Danny Sumner, Travis Sumner, Trevor Sumner, Kent Jones and Ryan Jones serving as pallbearers. Eula Little Eula Little of Owensville, Missouri, formerly of St. James, Missouri, was born in Maries County, Missouri on January 7, 1921 to Ivey and Lois (Risz) James and passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at the Frene Valley Nursing Center in Owensville, Missouri at the age of 92 years. Eula was united in marriage to Ernest Little and to this union two children were born. Eula was a member of the Vichy Community Church. She loved gardening, sewing, going to garage sales, spending time with family and friends, and the Democratic Party. Eula was a licensed real estate agent and enjoyed helping families in finding that “perfect home.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivey and Lois James; husband, Ernest Little in 2006; son, Keith Little; brothers, Charley and Leo James; grandson, Gregory Little. She is survived by her son, Roger Little of Manchester, Missouri; sister, Virginia Todd and husband Frances of Warrenton, Missouri; grandchildren, Stacey Walker, Lindsay Dittmer, Tracey Weston, and Brad Jayhan Little; other relatives  and friends. Robert Wayne Radford Robert Wayne Radford of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday, September 12, 1982 in Stuttgart, Germany to Furman Eugene and Jeannie Louise (nee Rule) Radford and passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013 in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 31 years and 18 days. Robert was a member of the Center Point Baptist Church, Steelville, Missouri. He enjoyed riding his bike, watching DVD movies, working word puzzles, and going for car rides. He loved being around people and making new friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Furman Bob Radford; grandparents, Dick and Bessie Rule; sisters, Nancy and Penny Radford; and uncle, Richard B. Rule. He is survived by his grandmother, Juanita Hinch Radford of Steelville, Missouri; father, Furman Eugene Radford of Steelville, Missouri; mother, Jeannie Reynolds of Butte, Montana; brother, Jason (Lucinda) Radford of Queen City, Texas; uncle, Phillip (Rita) Radford of Steelville, Missouri; aunt, Linda Haynes of Louisiana; other relatives and friends. Audie Ray Tyree Audie Ray Tyree of Bourbon, Missouri was born on March 28, 1958 in Sullivan, Missouri to Billy Ray Sr. and Dorann Catherine Sibole Tyree and passed away at his home on Saturday, September 28, 2013 at the age of 55 years and 6 months. He attended and graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1977.   Audie lived and worked in the Sullivan area all of his life and was employed as a waiter in local restaurants.  However, most recently he was employed in home health care as a caregiver.  He was an individual who enjoyed making people happy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Billy Sr. and Dorann Tyree; and two brothers, Billy Tyree, Jr. and Lance Tyree. He is survived by his step-mother, Mary Tyree; a special niece, Shasta Tyree-Lynch and husband Matt of St. Charles, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Callee and Blaine Tyree of Lonedell, Missouri and Tiffany Ennis of Washington, Missouri; his long-time companion, Roger Koening of Bourbon, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Cherry R. West Cherry R. West of Cuba, Missouri was born August 9, 1957 at St. Louis, Missouri to Marion G. and Blanche R. (nee Barton) West and passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at her home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 56 years. Cherry had worked for the Post Office as a letter carrier and retired in 2009 after nearly 20 years of dedicated service. She worked at Mace Supermarket from 2010 until early this year. During Cherry’s life she worked as a waitress, tended bar and cleaned homes and business. She was always working two or three jobs so she could take care of her children and spoil her grandchildren. Cherry was a member of the Country Club in Steelville. She enjoyed reading, making soap, doing puzzles, baking and buying toys for her grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Blanche West. She is survived by her five children, Kristy West of Cuba, Missouri, Richy West of Cuba, Missouri, Misty and husband Stephen Hutchcraft of St. James, Missouri, Jimmy West of Cuba and Cody West of Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren, Tristan Morgan, Ethan Overshon, Kyra West, Ryder Hutchcraft and Piper Hutchcraft; three sisters, Cindy and husband Mike Medlock of Cuba, Missouri, Betty and husband Doug Brock of Kansas City, Missouri, Janey and husband Ernest Crider of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Scotty and wife Kayla West of Cuba, Missouri; long time friend, Earl Hoerr; other relatives and friends. A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Recklein Auditorium, Cuba, Missouri. Cherry spent her entire life helping others and in death she continues helping others by gifting her body to science, so that one day they may find a cure for cancer.
