She graduated from Union High School in 1938. On June 22, 1940 she married Raymond Herman Birkmann of Beaufort, Missouri and he preceded her in death in 1985. Helen was a well-loved resident of Cuba Manor in Cuba, Missouri since 2004. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. She is survived by one son, Kenneth Birkmann and wife Deborah of Bourbon, Missouri; sister, Irene Hood of Elko, Nevada; six grandchildren, Jennifer Kingery and husband Brian of St. Louis, Missouri, John Birkmann and wife Lindsay of St. Louis, Missouri, Terri Mullen and husband Bob of Kansas, Justin Mueller and wife Maggie of Bourbon, Missouri, Janet Payne and husband Andrew of Leslie, Missouri and Amber Weakley and husband Rodney of Sullivan, Missouri; 16 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 4:30-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. Funeral services were conducted at noon on Wednesday, October 8, 2008 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaufort with interment in the church cemetery. Ksenia Kimberly Bryan Ksenia Kimberly Bryan of Steelville, Missouri was born February 16, 1992 in St. Petersburg, Russia and passed away Tuesday, October 7, 2008 from the result of a car accident in Phelps County at the age of 16 years. Ksenia was a junior at the St. James High School and was an active member of the Honor Choir, the first chair on saxophone, a member of the Debate Team and Speech Team. She attended the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. James, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Everett and Justina Tasset. McCoy of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, November 15, 1953 at St. Louis, Missouri to the union of Robert William Schwaegerle and Sylvia Evotte (nee Snider) Schwaegerle and passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 54 years, 10 months and 26 days. Judy was the owner/operator of her own cleaning service for many years in the Cuba area. In her spare time she enjoyed puzzles, candles, gardening, flowers, fishing and camping. But what was always most important to her was her family and spending time with them. She was preceded in death by her father; mother, Sylvia Evotte Pasch; one brother, Robert Schwaegerle; other relatives and friends. Norman Ray Nance Norman Ray Nance was born March 24, 1940 in Alton, Missouri to Epter and Alma (Bettis) Nance and he passed away Thursday, October 9, 2008 at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 68 years. Norman served his country in the United States Marine Corps from December 3, 1958 to December 2, 1964. He moved to Poplar Bluff, Missouri on the Black River so as a young boy he learned to love the river and all it had to offer, from swimming to gigging and fishing. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed gardening and raising peaches, always ready to share the bounty with friends and family. He was a member of the Winkler Baptist Church. Obermeyer William “Billy” A. Obermeyer passed away suddenly Sunday, October 5, 2008 in Bishopville, South Carolina at the age of 81 years. He was the husband of the late Evelyn (nee Overmann) Obermeyer. They were long time residents of the Cuba, Steelville and Leasburg area. Bill and Evie moved to this area in the early 1960’s from St. Louis, Missouri. He was a truck driver and lived on several farms over the years before moving to Leasburg. He was a disabled Army veteran and served September 1950 to October 1952. He moved to Bishopville, South Carolina in the late 1989/1990. He is survived by brother, sister and numerous nieces and nephews. Dorothy May Sutton Dorothy May Sutton of Louisiana, Missouri formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Charles Lauth, Sr. and Luella (Thomasee) Lauth on August 22, 1926 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Saturday, October 11, 2008 in Louisiana, Missouri at the age of 82 years, 1 month and 20 days. Dorothy was united in marriage to David O. Sutton on June 26, 1975 in Overland, Missouri. She retired as a Machine Operator from Lincoln Manufacturing Company in St. Louis, Missouri. In her spare time she enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, crocheting, planting flowers and going camping. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Charles, James and Russell Sutton and one sister, Marie Hassler.
