MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 16, 2019 AnnaLytia Nickels Bahr AnnaLytia Nickels Bahr was born on December 9, 1957 in Waynesville, Missouri to James and Joyce Nickels and passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the age of 61 years, 10 months and 29 days. They lived in Laquey, Missouri near her beloved grandma and other family members. Shortly before starting the third grade, her family moved to Rolla, Missouri. Because their home was on Salem Ave., AnnaLytia attended nearby Mark Twain Elementary School and then continued on to Rolla Junior High, Rolla Freshman High, and Rolla High. Although she was officially a member of the graduating class of 1976, she completed her coursework in December of 1975. AnnaLytia liked horses, music and reading; as often as possible, she escaped to a branch in a tree and got lost in a book. During her childhood summers, she enjoyed trail rides and church camps. From her parents, she learned the value of hard work and was a popular and very busy babysitter. In the same month that she finished high school, she married Bill Bahr. Besides supporting her husband with his work and running their household, AnnaLytia also took the lead developing the Timberline subdivision off Soest Rd. After the boys had left home, she started to work for Rolla Public Schools as the Title I Parent Involvement Coordinator. AnnaLytia was appreciated by parents and teachers and adored by the elementary school students. At work and play, she was social, thoughtful, generous, extremely strong and loads of fun; in fact, her grandchildren were amused by MeeMaw's silliness. She took pleasure in antiques, auctions, driving back roads, cooking, entertaining and connecting with distant relatives. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Joyce Nickels; brother, Charlie Nickels; and nephew, Rodney Wilson. She is survived by her husband, Bill; sons, Charlie and wife Crystal, Travis and wife Amanda (Mandy), Ben and wife Traci and Jared and wife Melissa; grandchildren, Piper, Tinsley, Owen, Truitt, Genevieve, Jocelyn, Wyatt, Lily, Adeline, Mabel, Hadley and Knox; sisters, Marlene Gorman, Barbara Wilson, Connie Simmons, and Jayma Nickels; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, October 11, 2019 at the Greentree Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2019 at the Greentree Christian Church in Rolla, Missouri. Burial was in the Idumea Cemetery in Laquey, Missouri. Farris of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of Bland, Missouri, was born on December 14, 1933 to Floyd N. and Lora S. (Jett) Farris and passed away on October 9, 2019 at the age of 85 years. Harvey attended Owensville High School and served his country in the United States Marine Corp. On November 23, 1956, Harvey married Ida Viola Shockley. He was employed at Cassen Transport in Fenton for many years loading cars for taking to dealerships. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Union and was a Shriner. Harvey was a working man and liked to stay busy and he enjoyed hunting and fishing when he had the time. Harvey had a natural talent for playing any instrument and enjoyed playing music. He liked to watch boxing matches on TV. He was preceded in death by his wife on April 23, 2016; and four brothers and sisters. He is survived by two sons, Randy Farris of Bourbon, Missouri and Timothy Farris of Union, Missouri; three grandchildren; three great grandchildren; eight brothers and sisters; other relatives and friends. Adam Daniel Herr Adam Daniel Herr of Cuba, Missouri was born on Thursday, July 19, 1979 in Washington, Missouri and passed away on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the age of 40 years. Adam was a Journeyman Carpenter for Brock Scaffolding Company, Labadie, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and being outdoors. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan. He loved being with and spending time with his children. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Leon Herr; and grandparents, Dorothy Cram and Arthur Harold Herr. Everett Wayne Hogue Everett Wayne Hogue was born October 19, 1937 to Everett and Frances (Sullivan) Hogue in Sligo, Missouri and passed away September 19, 2019 at the age of 81 years and 11 months. Wayne attended Cook Station Elementary School and graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1955. Soon after high school he attended school in Colorado where he was educated in telegraphy and subsequently went to work for the railroad in Seneca, Illinois. In 1956 he joined the Army and was stationed in Columbia, South Carolina for two years after which time he returned to St. Charles, Missouri. Wayne held several jobs in St. Charles and went to work for McDonnell Douglas where he retired after 37 years. Wayne was an active member of the First Assembly of God Church where he was an elder and member of the choir and volunteered for 18 mission trips throughout Latin America. He also volunteered many hours for Habit for Humanity. He loved to play baseball in his younger years, loved all sports and expecially enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Frances Hogue; two brothers, Harold Gene Hogue and William Monroe Hogue; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Eaker and Thomas Buckingham; and two nephews, Ricky Hogue and Danny Hogue. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Arlene (Bernard) Hogue; two daughters, Lynne (Dewayne) Meyer and Dana (Mike) Klingerhammer; two step daughters, Renae Fletcher and Traci (Bob) Bannister; four grandchildren, Lauren Meyer, Kara Meyer, Shelby (Ben) Lassanske and Jake Klingerhammer; four step grandchildren, Jeremy Nelson, Noah, Robert and Gordon Fletcher; two great grandchildren, Abigail and Benjamin; brother, Gary (Kelly) Hogue; two sisters, Ruth Ann Eaker and Linda Buckingham; one sister-in-law, Nadene Hogue; other relatives and friends. Tressie Elizabeth Humphrey Tressie Elizabeth (nee Butt) Humphrey of Highlandville, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri was born May 3, 1918 in Steelville to Henry and Zelma Slowensky Butt and passed away Thursday, October 10, 2019 at the age of 101 years, 5 months and 7 days. On May 4, 1937 Tressie married Luther T. Humphrey. Tressie graduated from Steelville High School, earned her teaching certificate and taught one year at Slowensky School. She then went to work at Scott's Steelville Supply in 1943 and retired from there in 1983. Tressie was a 50 year member of the local Order of the Eastern Star. She spent many hours gardening, working on her farm and taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Zelma Butt; husband, Luther Humphrey; one daughter, Loretta Mae Weber; infant brother, Joseph Henry Butt; a half-brother, Chester Jewell Butt who died in France in the Battle of Argonne, November 1918; and a half-sister, Mabel Butt. She is survived by her daughter, Selma "Jean" Humphrey Dulany and husband Ray of Highlandville, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; 20 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Kenneth Milton Moreland Kenneth Milton Moreland of Vienna, Missouri was born on August 16, 1927 at Vichy, Missouri to William Elmer and Gladys Mae (Cook) Moreland, and passed away on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 20 days. He married Rachel Margaret Thebeau on September 1, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. On August 12, 1952 at St. Louis, Missouri joined the Army and served until August 4, 1954 when he was honorably discharged at Camp Carson, Colorado, at the rank of Corporal (CPL T). During his military career, he had successfully completed training courses at the Engineer School, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, for the use of camouflage in combat tactics and was awarded and entitled to wear the Korean Service Medal with one Bronze Star, the United Nations Service Medal with two Overseas Bars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Republic of Korea Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. During most of his working life, he had been employed as a truck driver for Cassens Auto Transport Company, St. Louis, Missouri for 32 years, prior to his first retirement. Kenneth and Rachel lived on their farm near St. James, Missouri before they purchased the James Resort, on the Gasconade River, near Vienna, Missouri in 1980, which they operated as Morelands Resort and Catfish Restaurant until their final retirement. He was a member of the Coffey Brothers Memorial American Legion Post 12, Vienna, Missouri for more than 28 years and was a life member of the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Rachel; daughter, Shirley Mae DiNatale; son, James Michael Boyster; grandchildren, Taylor Marie Moreland and Rob Boyster; great grandchild, T.J. Hayes; brother, Robert "Bob" Moreland; and brother-in-law, Julius "June" Feeler. Logan Thomas Runyon Logan Thomas Runyon was born on January 6, 1991 to Nancy and Stanley Runyon and passed away on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the age of 28 years, 9 months and 1 day. Logan grew up and lived in Rolla, Missouri, where fishing, canoeing, hunting, being outside and playing with his army guys were the things that most marked his childhood. He picked up a guitar for the first time at 15 years old and played for the rest of his life. He was a gifted musician, with long fingers that flew down the guitar neck and a full, deep singing voice that only the most fortunate of people ever heard. Logan didn't speak unless he had something to say. When he did, it was smart, thoughtful and endlessly witty. Seeing him grin felt like you had won the very best prize. Logan enjoyed traveling with his sisters and exploring new places. Throughout his life, Logan was always looking for ways to better the world around him and he had the intelligence, courage, ingenuity and compassion to do it. From helping other people, to protecting the natural environment, to changing society for the better, when he did something, he gave his whole heart to it. Of everything that Logan did and was, above all he was kind. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lawrence C. and Mary Jane (Hessel) Ford; great grandparents, Phyllis and Iola (Griffey) Thomas; aunt and uncle, Art and Phyllis (Ford) Robertson; and brother-in-Christ, Troy Edward Parker.
