William W. Alexander
William W Alexander was born June 20, 1927 to William J. and Doris
Alexander and passed away October 1, 2011 of advanced cancer in Overland,
Missouri at the age of 84 years.
He grew up in Dorchester, Illinois and was a graduate of Shipman Community
High School in 1945.
In 1945 he entered the US Navy Aviation program and began a lifelong
military career. He served in World War II, Vietnam, the Korean and Cuban
Conflicts. He retired in 1976 with the Rank of Commander.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Doris Alexander.
He is survived by his companion, Marlene Dent of Overland Missouri; his
children, Wendy Bingesser, Wesley, Scott and William J. Alexander; six
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Burial will be performed at sea by the US Navy.
Roy James Catlett
Roy James Catlett of Potosi, Missouri was born August 23, 1942 in
Blackwell, Missouri to William Henry and Sara Christine Richardson Catlett
and passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at his home at the age of
69 years.
Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman and was really good at getting his
catch of fish. He was a talented artist and loved to draw. In his spare
time, he enjoyed listening to country music and working on the computer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Sara Catlett; one
brother, Joe Catlett; one sister, Elizabeth Hodges; and four brothers-in-law,
Jack Adams, Jim Bailey, Bill Amos and Walter King.
He is survived by two brothers, Michael Catlett and wife Anna of Cuba,
Missouri and Edward Catlett of California; six sisters, Virginia Bailey and
companion Jim of Steelville, Missouri, Margie King and Pauline O’Brien and
husband Andrew, all of Cuba, Missouri, Catherine Amos of St. Peters, Missouri,
Gertrude Moses of Edmond, Oklahoma and Veronica Adams; brother-in-law, Robert
Hodges of Festus, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
It was his wishes to be cremated. Arrangements under the direction of the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Robert William Davis
Robert William Davis was born on November 14, 1926, in Grand Island,
Nebraska. He passed away in Sullivan, Missouri, on October 3, 2011, at
the age of 84 years.
Bob graduated from Sullivan High School on May 16, 1945, and was inducted
into the U.S. Army on May 30, 1945. He celebrated his 19th birthday aboard
a troop ship in the Atlantic Ocean en route to Europe. He was attached to
the 24th Quartermaster Company and served as a jeep driver for long-distance
trips for U.S. 3rd Army headquarters personnel in Bad Tolz and Heidelberg,
Germany. For the last two weeks of his tour in Germany, he served as a motor
pool security guard and a non-commissioned officer club bouncer. He
was honorably discharged on October 19, 1946.
He moved his family from Sullivan to Florissant, Missouri, in 1957 and was
employed as an expeditor at McDonnell-Douglas. In 1967, he and his family
returned to Sullivan and purchased the Montgomery Ward Sales Agency, which
they operated until 1976. He was elected to the Sullivan School District
Board of Education in 1968 and served for nine years.
Throughout his life, Bob had a variety of interests. As a young man, he
hunted and fished, enjoying the outdoors and nature. Later in life, he
enjoyed motorcycling, boating, flying airplanes and he always loved his cars.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Fae Winn and his great
grandson, Joshua Heinle.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ellen (nee Rushton) of the family
home; son, Michael Davis of Sullivan, Missouri; daughter, Sue Davis of
Sullivan, Missouri; daughter, Barbara Heinle and husband Robert of Bourbon,
Missouri; grandson, Jim Heinle and wife Shannon of Sullivan, Missouri;
grandson, Steve Heinle and wife Sherri of Imperial, Missouri; grandson, Bill
Heinle of Sullivan, Missouri; five great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Memorial funeral services with full military honors were held at 2 p.m. in
the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home on Sunday, October 9, 2011.

Helen K. Dilg
Helen K. Dilg (nee Klasek) of Cuba, Missouri was born to William F. and
Helen (Sanders) Klasek on February 14, 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri and
passed away Friday, October 7, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Baptist Medical
Center in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 79 years.
Helen retired from Monsanto as a secretary after many years of dedicated
service. Helen could usually be found at the Cuba Senior Center on most
days, as this became her second home. She enjoyed being around others and
helping out. In her spare time she enjoyed working crossword puzzles.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William F. and Helen Klasek.
She is survived by her four children, Gary Dilg of St. Louis, Missouri, Marie
Dilg of St. Louis, Missouri, Glenn Dilg of Cuba, Missouri and Jackie Dilg of
St. Louis, Missouri; nine grandchildren Elizabeth, Christine, Nicole, Casey,
Lucas, Alex, Shane, Sam and Noah; other relatives and friends.
Cremation services were provided by the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba,
Missouri.

Lori Marie Gray
Lori Marie Gray of St. James, Missouri was born June 21, 1980 in Rolla,
Missouri, and passed away September 29, 2011 in Columbia, Missouri at the
age of 31 years.
Lori was a graduate of UMR. She was a proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous.
She served on the committee for Relay for Life and was a Domestic Violence
advocate.
She was preceded in death by grandparents and uncle, Leonard Ternes.
She is survived by her parents, Larry and Anna Marie Gray of Rolla,
Missouri; sister, Julie Anne Ternes-Gray of Rolla, Missouri; life partner,
Katy Gaskins and her son Jordan Gaskins of Rolla, Missouri; nieces, Amanda
Perera, Brandalynn Perera and Julian Allen; nephew, Thomas Hogland; other
relatives and friends.

Griswold, Jewell and Alta Lyons and Millicent “Penny” (Miller) Badley.

Garry Wayne Ivie
Garry Wayne Ivie of Bourbon, Missouri was born in Washington, Missouri on
March 13, 1960 to A.B. and Dorothy (Wymer) Ivie and passed on Wednesday,
September 28, 2011 at the age of 51 years.
He lived in Bourbon his entire life, though he spent much of his time
traveling the country as a professional driver for Huellinghoff Trucking
of Drake, Missouri. His time at home was spent enjoying family and
friends, hunting, camping, boating, mud-trucking with his two trucks
“Just Foolin’ Around” and “Still Foolin’ Around,” and building his ’72
Chevelle. Most of all, he enjoyed playing music. Garry “Stix” Ivie was
known throughout the area and through the years as a talented drummer and
vocalist in “The Bootlegger Band,” “Backroads” and most recently with the
band “The Milestones” with his son Jarrod. He was well known in the
community through his music, and through his unrivaled generosity. He
could always be counted on to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and
didn’t know the meaning of the word “stranger.”
He is survived by his wife Jackie of the family home; two sons, Austin
Missey and wife Rebecca of Vivian, Louisiana and Jarrod Ivie of Sullivan,
Missouri; five daughters, Tricia Cobb of Leasburg, Missouri, Misty Bouse
and husband Stephen of Bourbon, Missouri, Cheyann Woodcock of Bourbon,
Missouri, Brandi Benton and husband Josh of Sullivan, Missouri and Amber
Woodcock of Bourbon, Missouri; one brother, Red Ivie and wife Karen of
Bourbon, Missouri one sister, Rhonda Cline of Sullivan, Missouri; 15

Brett L. Jensen
Brett L. Jensen of Bourbon, Missouri was born on March 8, 1970 at
Sullivan, Missouri and passed away on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at the age
of 41 years.
He was a long-time resident of the Sullivan and Bourbon areas. He
commercial
attended Sullivan High School and later attained his CDL license for
truck driving. Brett drove for Paramount Headwear Company of Bourbon and
was a farm hand for Stanley Isgriggs.
Brett loved the outdoors and the country. He was not afraid of work and
he loved motorcycles and hunting. He was known as a simple man and was
loved by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jennifer Counts.
He is survived by two sons, Cody Counts of Sullivan, Missouri and Chase
Jensen and fiancée Latasha McEuen of Sullivan, Missouri; a daughter,
Cassandra Counts and fiancé, Chad Funkhouser of Sullivan, Missouri; his
mother and step father, Connie and Doug Pennock of Bourbon, Missouri;
two sisters, Jill Lampkin and husband Chuck of Sullivan, Missouri, Erica
Joslin and husband Kenny of Jefferson City, Missouri; one step sister,
Jana Pratt and husband Anthony of Bourbon, Missouri; step grandparents,

Richard Lee McWhorter
Richard Lee McWhorter was born in Pulaski County, Missouri on
July 29, 1952 to Charles Alfred (Mac) and Virginia
Ruth (Davis) McWhorter and passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the
age of 59 years.
Richard graduated from Rolla High School before attending Linn Technical
School. Richard had a very successful career as a Research Engineer working
for the University of Missouri at the Rolla and Columbia, Missouri campuses.
On July 18, 1984 Richard was united in marriage to Lucy Hughes. Richard
loved the outdoors and hunting and fishing; he was a master woodworker.
He is survived by his wife, Lucy of Fulton, Missouri; daughter, Tracy
Isaak and husband Rob of Tampa, Florida; mother-in-law, Mabel Hughes of

Effie Neff
Effie Neff of Cuba, Missouri was born January 20, 1923 at St. Louis,
Missouri to Jesse and Bessie (nee Harris) Wilkinson and passed away
Saturday, October 8, 2011 at the Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan,
Missouri at the age of 88 years, 8 months and 19 days.
Effie was united in marriage to Ocie Allen Neff on January 28, 1940 at the
Davisville Assembly of God Church and to this union seven children were
born.
Effie spent her life taking care of her family. She was known for her
wonderful cooking and baking especially her yeast rolls, German Chocolate
Cake, chicken and dumplings, Pecan Pie and Carrot Cake just to name a few.
She enjoyed reading, crocheting, sewing, canning, playing Skip-Bo and
attended the Calvary Apostolic Church in St. James for 20+ years.
She was preceded death by her parents, Jesse and Bessie Wilkinson;
husband, Ocie Neff; one son, Ocie L. Neff; two brothers, Chester and Fred
Wilkinson; one sister, Leora Collier; one son-in-law, Willard Worley and
other relatives and friends.
She is survived by her children, Lucy and husband John Bates of Cuba,
Missouri, Gloria Worley of Cuba, Missouri, Wanda Hardin of Sullivan,
Missouri, Ronnie and wife Debbie Neff of St. Louis, Missouri, Keith and
wife Brenda Neff of Cuba, Missouri and Sheila Neff of Cuba, Missouri; one

Henrietta Ness
Henrietta Ness was born in Knobville, Missouri on August 25, 1943 to
Henry and Hazel (nee Mizell) Klein and passed away on Sunday,
October 2, 2011 in Washington, Missouri at the age of 68 years,
1 month and 7 days.
On December 9 1961 she was united in marriage to Raymond Leroy Ness,
known to most as Leroy, and three children were born.
She was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church in
St. Clair, Missouri. She was a devoted member of the churches Leroy
served over the years and always served as a Sunday school teacher. She
was a certified medical technician and for many years had been employed
in the nursing home industry.
She loved animals and enjoyed the companionship of her two basset hounds,
Sprinkles and Cena. She enjoyed the outdoors and spending time on the
river with her family was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed going to
craft shows with Leroy and doing word search puzzles. Above all else,
she cherished the time spent with her grandson, Tyler, especially when
they were watching wrestling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Hazel Klein and one
brother, Howard Klein.
She is survived by her husband, Rev. Leroy Ness of Union, Missouri; three
children, James Ness of Union, Missouri, Sandra Law and husband Thomas of
Union, Missouri and Kristy Ness of Union, Missouri; one brother, David
Klein of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters, Violet Hanks of Steelville,
Missouri and Pauletta Sagers of Le Claire, Iowa; one grandchild, Tyler

Lucille E. Schiller
Lucille E. Schiller of Sullivan, Missouri was born on October 22, 1918
at Hermann, Missouri to Daniel and Nora (Deppe) Kallmeyer and passed
away Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at the age of 92 years.
She was raised in the Wellston area in St. Louis, Missouri.
In 1942, she was united in marriage to William H. Rogers who passed away
in 1960. Lucille later married Ferdinand Schiller in 1983.
Lucille was a retail manager of the Pepperidge Thrift Store and was also
an accomplished seamstress. She enjoyed entertaining friends in her home,
playing cards and was fond of traveling and senior citizens dances.
Lucille was a born again Christian and was a former member of the First
Baptist Church of Ferguson and currently a member of Temple Baptist Church
of Sullivan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Daniel and Nora Kallmeyer;
husbands, William Rogers and Ferdinand Schiller; son, Daniel W. Rogers
and a brother, Raymond Kallmeyer.
She is survived by two daughters, Donna Clinard and husband Gary of
Bourbon, Missouri and Linda Magruder and husband Dennis of Sullivan,
Missouri; two sisters, Dollene Langley and husband Donald of St. Louis,
Missouri and Shirley Smith and husband Gene of Florissant, Missouri;
four grandchildren, Michelle Magruder, Dawn Parsons and husband Shannon,
Amy Miller and husband Thomas and Aaron Magruder and wife Kelly; one
great grandson, Damon Miller; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 6, 2011 from 10-11 a.m. at the
Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri. Funeral

Rosa Mae Seddon
Rosa Mae Seddon was born May 6, 1923 in Owensville, Missouri to William
Jacob and Susan Emily (Morgan) Garrett, and passed away October 1, 2011
at the age of 88 years, 4 months and 24 days.
On October 2, 1943 Rosa Mae Garrett was united in marriage to Fred
Leslie Seddon.
Shewas preceded in death by her parents, William and Susan Garrett;
husband, Fred Seddon in 1996; brothers, Kenneth, Leroy Freddie and
Marion Garrett and sister, Beatrice Forrester.
Being outdoors and working in her gardens, both vegetable and flower,
was a favorite pastime. She enjoyed jig-saw puzzles and in the morning
with her coffee she would always spend a hour or so with a word search
book, on the top of those word search pages she would write down what the
weather was like on that day along with the deaths that she heard on
Regional Record, which later she would post into a journal. Rosa was also
very fond of country and gospel music, she regularly watched CMT. Rosa
loved her rose garden, feeding the birds and the squirrels. She loved her
flower gardens, most importantly the roses. She had a green thumb and
could grow anything.
She is survived by children, Julia M. McCrite and husband Lloyd of
St. James, Missouri, Mary L. Teague and husband Richard of Carbondale,
Colorado, Sharon K. McCrite and husband Donald of Rolla, Missouri,
Pete H. Seddon and friend Barb Trusy of Cuba, Missouri, Patsy L. Hausner
and husband Stephen of Rolla, Missouri, James L. Seddon of St. James,
Missouri, Paul W. Seddon and wife Sharon of St. James, Missouri,
Pamela S. Bick and husband Andy of Cuba, Missouri; brother, Lyndon Morgan
of Owensville, Missouri; sister, Marie Niedert of St. James, Missouri;

Woodrow W. Stroup
Woodrow W. Stroup of Montrose, Colorado, formerly of Sullivan, Missouri
was born in Crawford County, Missouri on September 3, 1921 to Albert and
Bertha Ann (Campbell) Stroup and passed away Sunday, October 2, 2011 at
the age of 90 years.
He was raised in this area and later became employed as a machine operator
with the Frisco Railroad. He was known as easy going and loved animals of
all kinds and enjoyed farming. He was a member of the Pentecostal faith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Bertha Stroup; two
sons; five brothers and four sisters.
He is survived by eight children; one sister, Martha Miller of Bourbon,
Missouri; several grandchildren; many great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011 at the
Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.

Mae L. Thorpe
Mae L. Thorpe of Indian Hills in Cuba, Missouri was born to Austin and
Millie (Gargus) Russell on March 14, 1940 in Steelville, Missouri and
passed away Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 71 years.
Mae was united in marriage to Ralph E. Thorpe on October 15, 1955 in
Bourbon, Missouri and to this union five children were born.
Mae was a homemaker and was known as a great cook, she enjoyed watching
the “Young and the Restless” and spending time with her children and
grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Austin and Millie (Gargus)
Russell and one brother, Jim Russell.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph E. Thorpe of the home; five
children, Lonny and wife Lisa Thorpe of Old Monroe, Missouri, Jerry and
wife Judy Thorpe of Jonesburg, Missouri, Tina and husband Tracy Dykema of

Visitation was held on Sunday, October 9, 2011 from 1 p.m. until time
of service 3 p.m. at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Cremation followed the services.

Austin Thomas Wilder
Austin Thomas Wilder was born on August 27, 1988 in Houston, Texas and
passed away September 25, 2011 in St. James, Missouri.
Austin attended the University of Texas, was taking classes at East
Central College and was a well-respected employee at Tacony Manufacturing.
He was a talented actor, writer and speaker. He had a dry wit and a
brilliant mind that never ceased to amaze those around him.
Austin was fascinated by anything mechanical, especially vacuum
cleaners, washing machines and small appliances. He became an avid
collector of all of these and proudly posted many of his videos on
YouTube.
His friends and mentors, Tom Gasko and Nancy Montgomery, saw his
unlimited potential, took a leap of faith and hired him at Tacony
Manufacturing to work with vacuum cleaners. He loved his job and he
loved the people that he worked with.
On Austin’s Google profile page he wrote, “I am one of the people who
works in their true field of interest. I’ve been fascinated by the
mechanical design of household appliances for more than 20 years.”
He is survived by his parents, Tom and Venus; sister, Hayley, all of
Bellville, Texas; grandmothers, Rita and Ann; his many friends at Tacony;
other relatives and friends.
A celebration of his life was held on September 30, 2011 at Wilson
Mortuary in Salem, Missouri.
Gladys I. Wymer
Gladys I. Wymer of Bourbon, Missouri, was born at Hinch, Missouri to
Charlie and Elva (Richards) Summers on October 1, 1926 and passed away on
Friday, September 30, 2011 at the age of 84 years.
In 1945 she was united in marriage to Ovie E. Wymer and to this union
three children were born.
She enjoyed traveling with friends, square dancing and bluegrass music.
She also was fond of auctions and would bid on various nick-nacks for her
collection. Gladys attended the Pea Ridge Pentecostal Church.
She is survived by two sons, Carroll Wymer and wife Sally of Bourbon,
Missouri, and Vernon Wymer and wife Cathy of St. Clair, Missouri; one
daughter, Linda Griffith and husband Gary of Sullivan, Missouri; one
brother Charles (Chuck) Summers and wife Dixe of Richland, Missouri; five
grandchildren, Richard, Brian, Gary, Falecia and Matthew; seven great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the Eaton Funeral
Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2011
from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Floyd Starks
officiating.
Interment was in the Bourbon Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of Eaton Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
