MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 17, 2018 Joe Edwin Baker Joe Edwin Baker of Davisville, Missouri was born January 28, 1928 in Davisville to parents, Raymond and Dora Ethel Martin Baker and passed away Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 10 days. In 1947 in St. Louis, Missouri he married Wilma Bolling. Joe proudly served his county in the U.S. Army. He and Wilma along with his brother Bill owned the Baker Feed Store in Davisville, Missouri for a few years. Joe also farmed and raised cattle for many years, hauled cattle to the stockyards in St. Louis, Missouri and used his knowledge of welding to fabricate different pieces of equipment. He also built many houses in the community and always enjoyed his time building. Joe also was employed as a hoist engineer for Doe Run retiring from that position after several years. He attended the Davisville Church for over 83 years and Joe's father, Raymond, gave the land for that church's beginning many years ago. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Dora Baker; three sisters, Nadine Watson and husband, Ray, Virginia Wilson and husband Elba and Naomi Halbert and husband Welbon. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wilma Baker of Davisville, Missouri; two sons, Roger Baker and wife Nancy of Davisville, Missouri and Rodney Baker and Heather, significant other, of Ballwin, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kathleen Donnell, Charlene Baker, Andrew Baker and Amber Baker; two great grandchildren, Bethany and Benjamin Donnell; two brothers, Jim Baker and wife Kathy of Cuba, Missouri and Bill Baker of Davisville, Missouri; one sister, Betty Sue Gremaud and husband Pete of Pacific, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Harrison Brown, Rev. Bob Coleman and Rev. John Slade officiating. Special music of "Sheltered in the Arms of God" was sung and played on violin by Mitch Davis and "I'll Fly Away" and "Beulah Land" was sung by Bob and Carol Coleman with Shirley Brown on piano and Bob Coleman on guitar. Committal prayer and interment with full military honors by the U.S. Army were in the Davisville Cemetery. The U.S. flag was presented to Mrs. Baker by a great nephew, SPC John Hanneken II. Donald Eldon Benton Donald Eldon Benton of Steelville, Missouri was born August 22, 1938 in Rolla, Missouri to James D."Bus" and Virginia D. Stewart Benton and passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the age of 80 years. On July 20, 1956 he married Patrcia D. Haines, at Dixon, Missouri. Don and Patricia enjoyed 55 years together, before her passing on September 11, 2011. Don loved to talk to people and never met a stranger. He loved to be around people. He loved to garden and was successful in starting the Steeville Community Garden, where he met many friends. He loved his animals and had several goats and rabbits. He was a board member of the Pleasant Hill Cemetery where he had many family members buried. Jeff Jones always said when he had a burial at the cemetery Don was always waiting on him to help him find the grave and of course have a visit. Don retired from Rockwood School District in St. Louis, Missouri where he drove a school bus and was a custodian. Don was more than a Bus driver or someone to clean the building, he was a close friend to the administration, Don was well respected and was called on to help make decisions that impacted the development of the district. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat; son-in-law, Bob Morris; and two sisters, Mae Haines and Delorse Jordon. Mayo married Amos Everett Busbey on September 27, 1941 in Salem, Missouri. Mayo was a homemaker. In her earlier years, she worked at Boeing, Wagon Wheel Restaurant and Cuba Hotel. She enjoyed crafts of all kinds, crocheting, sewing, quilting and reading. Thomas Michael "Tom" Conduitt Thomas Michael "Tom" Conduitt of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, February 23, 1941 at Cuba, Missouri to Roy F. and Lillian R. (nee Bousser) Conduitt and passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the age of 77 years. Tom honorably served in the United States Air Force from 6 August 1959 till 13 February 1963. He married Donna Counts on August 12, 1967 at Cuba, Missouri. Tom worked as a shipping clerk for Echo Supply for 27 years. After Echo Supply closed, Tom took some time off before going to work for MEPCO. He retired in 2008 after 16 years of d edicated service from MEPCO. Tom was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He attended grade school at Holy Cross School and he graduated from Cuba High School. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball, St. Louis Blues hockey and the NCAA basketball. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and playing cards. When sports weren't on TV, Tom watched MASH and Hill Street Blues. What he truly loved most in life was spending time with his family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Lillian Conduitt; one brother, Richard and wife Barbara Conduitt; and one sister, Nancy Conduitt. Harpo, as he was known by, had been a Tool & Die Machinist for several years before his health began to decline. He spent hours shooting pool and fishing. His favorite hobby was tinkering on automobiles. He was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and June Cunningham; and one brother, Michael Cunningham. Gregory Willaard Klouzek Gregory Willard Klouzek of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday, September 27, 1954 in Rolla, Missouri to Willard James and Rose Marie Kamler Klouzek and passed away on Friday, October 5, 2018 at the age of 64 years and 8 days. Greg graduated from Cuba High School in 1972 and attended Southwest Baptist College, Bolivar, Missouri. He worked as an auto parts service expert for Al West Chrysler in Rolla, Missouri for several years. He was a lifelong, talented and respected musician playing lead guitar. He enjoyed metal detecting. He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Marie Klouzek; and nephew, Lucas Klouzek. Kimiko Lambert Kimiko Lambert of Cuba, Missouri was born to Yasohach and Momono Iketani on February 17, 1929 in Yokohama, Japan and passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at the age of 89 years. Kimiko Iketani married Leonard Lambert on November 19, 1957 in Yokohama, Japan. Kimiko was a homemaker, she enjoyed taking care of her home and sewing. She was a member of the SGI-USA Ozark Chapter in Rolla. She was preceded in death by her parents, Yasohach and Momono Iketani; and husband, Leonard Lambert. She is survived by two children, Kenneth Lambert of Washington, Missouri and Patricia Wagner of Clarksville, Tennessee; three grandchildren, Mat, Hana and Akane; one sister-in-law, Nadine O'Dell of Indianapolis, Indiana; special friends, Harumi Wakisaka and husband Tom Krolak of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Charles Glen Lawson Charles Glen Lawson was born in 1922 and passed away on September 24, 2018 at the age of 96 years. Glen, as he was known by his friends and family, attended Roosevelt High School in St. Louis, Missouri and met his future bride, Dorothy, at South Side Baptist Church. Glen served in WWII as a combat engineer with the Rainbow Division and received two bronze stars participating in the Battle of the Bulge. He was not one to talk about the war, but wrote a quite a funny saga of his experiences at the request of his grandchildren. He avoided telling the awful parts. After the war, Glen began working as a welder at a boiler manufacturing plant. Later he helped his father-in-law as a mechanic and later worked at McMann Pontiac where he worked on Stan Musial's car on occasion. He later moved his family to California and worked as a draftsman for the city. Glen could fix almost anything around the house. Glen will always be remembered for his wit, his faith and his long conversations in which we sometimes had to rescue the victim. He taught his children that they always be true to their word and to always return anything borrowed in as good shape, or better, when returning it. He enjoyed vacations to national parks, listening to the St. Louis Cardinals and visiting relatives. He was a devout Christian and attended the Rolla, Seventh Day Adventist church where he was an active member. He was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth; and brother, Darwin "Corky". He is survived by his children, Lary (Lori), Gary (Gini) and Karen; six grandchildren, Julie, Steve, Jennifer, Kelly, Blake and Clint; eight great grandchildren; sister, Loraine; other relatives and friends. Joe married Lorette Bridges on December 24, 1981 in Steelville, Missouri. Joe worked in masonry for many years and was a member of Bricklayers Local 1. He enjoyed drawing, woodworking, fishing, football and riding motorcycles. Doris Mae "Dot/Dottie" Pryor Doris Mae "Dot/Dottie" Pryor of Overland, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born Saturday, October 1, 1927 at Madison, Illinois to Rex and Hadassa "Dassie (nee Haus) Worley and passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the age of 91 years.Dottie married Euel "Pete" Pryor on December 27, 1945 in Fulton, Arkansas. She spent her life taking care of her family and home. She was an excellent seamstress in her younger years. She enjoyed making angels, doing crafts, shopping and was a former member of the Cuba Eastern Star. Dot was known for her cooking and during the years that they went camping, Dottie would cook a big breakfast every morning for everyone. She spent hours volunteering for the Shriner's and she loved working in the nursery at Trinity Chapel. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rex and Dassie Worley; husband, Euel "Pete" Pryor; one sister, Leah and husband Zan Cason; two brothers-in-law, Waldern Pryor and Ray Pryor; and two sisters-in-law, Ada Gray and Juanita Whitman. Dolores Marie Tayloe Dolores Marie Tayloe of Rosebud, Missouri was born on November 15, 1928 in Sullivan, Missouri, to Joseph and Clara Rebura and passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2018 at the age of 89 years. She grew up and attended school in Sullivan, Missouri. Dolores began her 43-year long career at Crawford Electric in 1965. She married Bransford Tayloe in 1967. Dolores retired from Crawford Electric in 2008. She enjoyed embroidery, quilting, gardening and canning. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bransford; parents, Joseph and Clara (Mueller) Rebura; and brother, Marvin Rebura.
