Tyler Lee Christie
Tyler Christie was born on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 in Rolla, Missouri to Ted
Christie Jr. and Kammy Evans of Steelville, Missouri and passed away at his
home in Steelville, Missouri on Monday, October 12, 2009 at the age of 3
months and 11 days.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Wanda and Richard Evans,
Polly and Stanley Haddox, Ruth and Paul McGruder; great uncles, Ronald Evans
and Roger Gruber.
He is survived by his parents, Ted Christie Jr. and Kammy Evans; four
brothers, Dakota Brooks, Seth and Andrew Wideman, and Ted Christie, III; two
sisters, Katilynn and Amber Christie; grandparents, Rita Evans, Larry and
Ruthann Myers, all of Steelville, Missouri, Daniel Haddox and Lora Butler of
Owensville, Missouri, Ted Christie, Sr. of Arnold, Missouri; and great
grandparents, Louise and Donald Christie of Arnold, Missouri.
Visitation was Thursday October 15, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral
Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Friday October 16, 2009 at 10 at Hutson Funeral Home in
Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Paul Davis officiating.
Burial at the Boss Cemetery, Boss, Missouri.

Herbert L. Crist
Herbert L. Crist, was born and grew up in St. Louis, Missouri. He passed
away September 29, 2009 in Ashland Ohio at the age of 57 years.
Herb grew up in St. Louis, Missouri and later settled with his wife and
children in Doolittle, Missouri.
He was well known for his work as a radio DJ for KZNN, KTTR, and KBCC and
later became the general manager for KMYB in Pawhuska, Oklahoma.
Herb’s love for music led him to play drums and sing in a variety of bands
and shows including the Steelville music show, community fairs, and the
Steelville Assembly of God church quartet.
He also worked with developmentally challenged and handicapped adults at
the Choice for People school in Rolla, Missouri.
Herb donated his body and organs to Med Cure for further research of
parkinsons disease as he wanted to do his part in helping to find a cure
for this disease.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Crist and Margaret Meyer;
mother-in-law, Carol McMillian; brother, Ted Crist; sisters-in-law, Leanne
Crist and Jeanie Crist; brother-in-law, Brian Conaway; niece, Tiffany
Williamson and best friend, Jim Clark.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Linda Crist of Ashland, Ohio;
daughter, Angele Crist-Ojo (Samson) of Ashland Ohio; daughter, Emily
Crist-Vick (Justin) of Rochester, New York and daughter, Holly Crist-Evans
of Louisana and special friend known as his son, Randall Hanks of Ashland,
Ohio; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Leighton, Jackson, Ally, Sophie
and Brianna; two sisters, Ginger Graham (John) of Florida and Mitzi Guerioss
of St. Louis, Missouri; two brothers, Kenny Crist (Anita) of St. Louis,
Missouri and Chuck Crist of Sikeston, Missouri; brother-in-law, Mike
Conaway (Tammy) of St. James, Missouri and sister-in-law, Brenda Jeffries
(Tony) of Stanton, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service has been scheduled for November 7, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the
Steelville Assembly of God Church. A special wake has also been scheduled
to take place at The Rose on November 6, 2009 beginning at 7 p.m. where
friends and family will gather to sing Herb’s favorite music, and celebrate
his life. All who knew Herb is invited to attend both services.
Orville Eugene Dunlap
Orville Eugene Dunlap was born August 7, 1936 in Doniphan, Missouri to
Everett and Garnet (Holiday) Dunlap and passed away on Friday,
October 9, 2009 at Stonecrest Nursing Home in Viburnum, Missouri at the
age of 73 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Garnet Dunlap.
He is survived by several cousins and friends.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until noon at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home
in Steelville, Missouri.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. at the Viburnum Cemetery in Viburnum,
Missouri. Committal prayer and scripture were by Bill Bennett.
Casket bearers were Matt Dunlap, Terry Dunlap, Ken Halbert, Lane Bennett,
Ron Hallum and Harold Laramore.

Juanita M. Hughes
Juanita M. Hughes of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, December 20, 1925 at
Cuba, Missouri to Wilson and Effie (nee Monda) McIntosh and passed away
Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 83 years,
9 months and 27 days.
Juanita was united in marriage to Raymond L. Hughes on May 18, 1945 at Cole
County, Missouri and to this union one daughter was born.
Juanita spent her life taking care of her family and her home. She enjoyed
working in her garden, knitting and puzzle books. She was a member of the
First Presbyterian Church of Cuba for many years. She enjoyed being part of
the “Lunch Bunch” and she was an avid “St. Louis Cardinal’s” fan.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilson and Effie McIntosh; husband,
Raymond L. Hughes; brother, Gene McIntosh; sister, Helen Brennan; other
relatives and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Jan Shafferkoetter of Florissant, Missouri;
four grandchildren, Janette and husband Jared Vetter of Jerseyville, Illinois,
Daniel Shafferkoetter and family of Florissant, Dana Shafferkoetter and family
of St. Charles, and Dustin Shafferkoetter of Florissant; eight great
grandchildren, Justin, Jeremy, Joshua, Regan, Jessica, Lexie, Jordan and
Alyssa; five brothers, Bill McIntosh of Rolla, Missouri, Dave McIntosh of
Chicago, Illinois, Walter and wife Shirley McIntosh of Cuba, Missouri, Jerry
and wife Lorraine McIntosh of Chicago, Illinois and Dale and wife Pat McIntosh
of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Monday, October 19, 2009 at the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral service was at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Gary Mace officiating. Interment
followed at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Levi William Hunter
Levi William Hunter of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, October 6, 2009
at MO Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri to Zachary and Hannah Hunter and
passed away at St. Louis Children’s Hospital on Thursday, October 15, 2009
at the age of 9 days.
He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Herman and Betty Hughes,
Donald and Georgia Kline, William E. Hunter, Sr., and Bob and Irma Allen.
He is survived by his parents; brothers, Landen Hunter of Cuba, Missouri and
Samuel Henderson of Salem, Missouri; grandparents Steve and JoAnna Bach,
Patsy Hunter, Russell Allen and Vicki Bridgeman, all of Cuba, Missouri,
Randy and Karen Hunter of Leasburg, Missouri; great grandparents, Aileen
Hunter of Bourbon, Missouri, Tom and Betty Bach of Cuba, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was Saturday, October 17, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral service
was Sunday, October 18, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri with Rev. John Breese officiating.

Mary M. Land
Mary Magglena Land of Salem, Missouri was born February 28, 1925 and passed
away October 17, 2009 in Rolla, Missouri at the age 84 years,
She is survived by three children, Austin Land and Debbie Parker of Salem,
Missouri, Rodney Land and wife Shelley of Salem, Missouri and Jennifer Frey
of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers, Herbert Parker of Licking, Missouri and
Arley Parker and wife Diane of St. James, Missouri; two sisters, Blanche
Pryor of Salem, Missouri and Lois Stephens of Salem, Missouri; 12 grand-
children; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, October 19, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. at the Wilson
Mortuary Salem Chapel.
Funeral service was Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the Wilson
Mortuary Salem Chapel. Interment in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.

Monica L. McClearn
Monica Lynn (Harvey) McClearn of Owensville, Missouri was born on
July 10, 1972 at Sullivan, Missouri and passed away Thursday,
October 15, 2009 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 37 years.
Monica was a homemaker and a member of Grace Bible Church of Owensville,
Missouri. She enjoyed writing poetry, singing, scrapbooking and taking care
of her children.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Lee Harvey, Sr.; grand-
parents, Eugene “Geno” Niedbalski and Carroll Marchlowski; stepson, Michael
McClearn, Jr.
She is survived by her husband, Michael McClearn of Doolittle, Missouri;
parents, Charles and Susan Phillips of Orlando, Florida; five children,

Charles M. Moehlmann
Charles Marvin Moehlmann of St. Louis, Missouri was born on January 10, 1935
in Cuba Missouri and passed away on Friday, October 16, 2009 at St. Louis,
Missouri at the age of 74 years, 9 months, 6 days.
Charles was united in marriage to Edeltraud (Dauber) Moehlmann on
March 13, 1959 in Germany.
Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1957-1959. He
enjoyed fishing, hunting, the outdoors, gardening and building model cars
and planes.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, John and Nellie Moehlmann; three
sisters, Dorothy Manger, Alice Moehlmann, and Gloria Dillard; two brothers,
John and Roy Moehlmann and grandson, Johnny A. Cramer.
He is survived by his wife, Edeltraud Moehlmann of the home in St. Louis,
Missouri; three children, Charles and wife Christene Moehlmann, Nellie and
husband Steven Studt of St. Louis, Missouri, Deborah and John Cramer of
Cuba, Missouri; five grandchildren, Joseph and Jason Schultz of St. Louis,
Missouri, Heather and husband Martin Miller, Wendy and Bridget Cramer;
great granddaughter, April L. Miller of Cuba, Missouri; four siblings,
Vernon Moehlmann, Russell Moehlmann, Larry and wife Judy Moehlmann, and
Margaret (Peggy) Wright, all of St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 20, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Graveside service was held on Wednesday October 21, 2009 at 11 a.m. at
Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri with Rev. John Cramer, officiating,
followed by full military honors.
Serving as pallbearers were Charles Moehlmann Steven Studt, John Cramer,
Joseph and Jason Schultz, and Martin Miller.

William V. Ownby
William Ownby of Bourbon, Missouri was born on February 24, 1935 to William
and Irene (Vansickle) Ownby and passed away at his home on Monday,
October 12, 2009 at the age of 74 years.
On July 2, 1955 he was united in marriage to Jeannine D. Brown in the state
of Mississippi and to this union seven children were born.
William was employed for over 30 years at General Motors in St. Louis,
starting on the assembly line and working his way to inspector. He was known
as an individual who would give the shirt off of his back and help anyone in
need. He enjoyed working on cars and keeping busy with his children and many
grandchildren. William was known to many as “Grandpa” simply because of his
love for others, especially children.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Irene Ownby; his wife,
Jeannine in March of 2008 and by two sisters, Carol Hollander and Lucille
Drysdale.
He is survived by four sons, Donald Ownby and wife Doris of Beaufort,
Missouri, Steven Ownby and wife Paula of St. Louis, Douglas Ownby and
fiancée Erin of Beaufort, Missouri, and Jeffrey Ownby and wife Jen of
Catawissa, Missouri; three daughters, Christa Cox and husband Mike of Rolla,
Missouri, Sherry King and husband Matt of Leslie, Missouri, and Vicki Webb
and husband Jim of Steelville, Missouri; one brother, George Ownby of
St. John, Missouri; father-in-law, Bert Brown of Farmington, Missouri;
18 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. on Thursday, October 15, 2009 at the Eaton
Funeral Home of Sullivan, Missouri.
Memorial funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
October 15, 2009 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Michael
Delashmit officiating.

Loyd A. Payne
Loyd A. Payne of St. James, Missouri was born February 20, 1936 at Thayer,
Missouri to Loyd Alfred Payne Sr. and Bonnie (Sandridge) Payne and passed
away suddenly at his home Friday October 16, 2009. He was 73 years,
7 months and 26 days of age.
On May 27, 1954 at Alton, Missouri he was united in marriage to Ruth
Evelyn Javaux Payne.
Loyd was a family person who loved his family and especially his
granddaughter Jessica.
He was an assistant manager of a Barge Co. for many years. He was
treasurer, Deacon and Father of the Year along with being a Sunday School
teacher at the Thayer, Missouri, Assembly of God before moving to
St. James, Missouri.
He and his wife, Evelyn, attended the First Assembly of God of St. James,
Missouri where they have many special friends. He enjoyed working on his
farm raising cattle and goats and being in the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of over 50 years, Ruth Evelyn Payne of St. James,
Missouri; daughters, Tanya Wood and husband Douglas of St. Louis,
Missouri and Sheila Heine Javaux of Arnold, Missouri; brother, Joe Payne of
Independence, Missouri; sisters, Faye Mills of Thayer, Missouri, Lyda West
and husband Gene of Denver, Colorado, Gladys Farnbach and husband Ron of
St. Ann, Missouri; one granddaughter, Jessica Lauren Heine; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, October 19, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at
the Jones Funeral Home in St. James with Bro. Mick Thrasher officiating.
Burial at the High Gate Baptist Church Cemetery.

Lorraine A. Snelson
Lorraine A. Snelson was born June 24, 1919 in Rolla, Missouri to Joseph P.
and Mabel (Mitchell) Williams and passed away Thursday, October 15, 2009 at
the age of age 90 at home in Morgan’s Point Resort, Texas.
She graduated from Rolla High School in 1937.
Lorraine was married to Floyd R. Snelson of Rolla, Missouri.
She was a homemaker, and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 2025 Ladies’
Auxiliary as well as a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 270
Ladies’ Auxiliary of Rolla, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Mabel Williams; husband,
Floyd R. Snelson; brother, Joe Ed Williams; daughters, Sharon Kay Walsh,
Judith Ann Rowland and son William Wilbur.
She is survived by daughter, Carolyn Sue Colburn (Jim) of Morgan’s Pt.
Resort, Texas; step-daughter, Kathleen Staley (Charles) of Tipp City, Ohio;
step-son, Lyle Snelson of Eldon, Missouri; sister-in-law, Daphne Lupberger
(Harold) of St. James, Missouri; nine grandchildren and several great
grandchildren.
Visitation was held October 20, 2009, from 10-11 a.m. with funeral services
starting at 11 a.m. Burial after services at the Fairview-Thomas Cemetery.

Helen Maxine Waldron
Helen Maxine Waldron of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri
on November 14, 1924 to Hersel and Elsie (Hayes) Bullock and passed away
Wednesday, October 14, 2009, at the Golden Living Center in St. James at
the age of 84.
On October 24, 1941 she married Harold Waldron who preceded her in death on
April 19, 1999.
Helen was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in St. James where she
devoted much of her time for nearly 60 years.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Donald Underwood
of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers, Jim Bullock of Hemphill, Texas and Bill
Bullock and wife Helen of Ballwin, Missouri; three sisters, Martha Mae
Garner and husband Kermit of St. James, Missouri, Betty Dickens and husband
Walter of Dixon, Missouri and Barbara King and husband Donnie of Rolla,
Missouri; two grandchildren, Kimberly Lackey and husband Carl of St. James,
Missouri and Brian Curtis of High Gate, Missouri; three great grandchildren,
Kolt Lackey, Amber Royal, and Brittany Curtis; two great great grandchildren,
Johnathon Lackey and Chloe Walters; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the
Null & Son Funeral Home, Rolla, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the
Null & Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri with Revs. Terry Knight and Dan
Bauder officiating.
Interment followed the service in the Macedonia Cemetery in rural Rolla,
Missouri.

Alice Alma Wood
Alice Alma Wood was born, May 22, 1927 in Cherry Valley, Missouri to
Winford and Carrie Leota (Stricker) Hardin and passed away Thursday,
October 15, 2009 at her home in the Berryman community at the age of 82
years.
Alice was united in marriage to Hyle Ray Wood on September 3, 1946 in
Potosi, Missouri and to this union three children were born.
Alice enjoyed reading, embroidery, feeding the birds and being a loyal
Cardinal baseball fan. She loved her little cat, KatieKat, but most of all
she loved being around her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Winford and Carrie Hardin; her
husband, Hyle; two brothers, William Marvin Hardin and Dwight Hardin and
wife Nellie; two sisters, Gertrude Brown and husband Art and Mabel Porter;
brothers-in-law, Bud Wood and wife Virginia, Walter Wood, Fred Wood,
Emmett Smith and Claude Skaggs.
She is survived by her two sons, Winford Wood and wife Marlaine of
Wentzville, Missouri and Allan Wood and wife Victoria of Marthasville,
Missouri; one daughter, Rosella Helm and husband Clyde of Steelville,
Missouri; seven grandchildren, Sarah Wood, Sam Wood, Jessica Thornhill and
husband Brandon, Kathryn Wood, Daniel Wood, Cassie Middleton and husband
Lynn, and Paul Helm; four great grandchildren, Austin and Andrew Thornhill
and Tatum Washburn and Colton Middletown; brother-in-law, Cliston Porter
of Naylor, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Wood of Viburnum, Missouri,
Jennie Pauline Smith and Rosella Skaggs of Steelville, Missouri; other
relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hyle; two brothers,
William Marvin Hardin and Dwight Hardin and wife Nellie; two sisters,
Gertrude Brown and husband Art and Mabel Porter; brother-in-laws, Bud
Wood and wife Virginia, Walter Wood, Fred Wood, Emmett Smith and Claude
Skaggs.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2009 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Rod Farthing
officiating. Special music of “In the Garden”, “Peace in the Valley”,
“Old Rugged Cross” and “Go Rest High” was played.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Steelville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Daniel Wood, Samuel Wood, William Wood, Brandon
Thornhill, Evan Ryan and Zackary Stubbert.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
