He attended and graduated from Bourbon High School, Class of 1979. He earned a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Missouri Columbia. Richard was employed by Monsanto for a time, then by Edward Jones and Morgan Stanley as a financial advisor. After the death of his father, Richard returned home to run the family farm. This allowed him to return to his roots and reignite the love for his homestead. Richard also enjoyed reading, especially Stephen King and Lord of the Rings. He was a distinguished story teller and cook, barbecue being his specialty. He was preceded in death by his father, Melvin Burnett; brother, Thomas Burnett; brother-in-law, Gary Cunningham; and grandparents, Orville and Opal Burnett and Walter and Viola Richters He is survived by his children, Derek Burnett and wife Madison of Kearney, Missouri and Madeline Burnett of Springfield, Missouri; his mother, Edith (Richters) Burnett of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters, Gay Cunningham and significant other Ross Pulvere, of St. George, Utah and Deborah Sampson and husband Dennis of Salem, Illinois; his special Shepard dog, Bud; other relatives and friends. Jackie Daugherty Jackie Daugherty (nee Britton) of Bourbon, Missouri was born on Thursday, April 10, 1952 in Rolla, Missouri to Jack E. and Anna Mae Wilson Britton and passed away on Friday, October 19, 2018 at the age of 66 years, 6 months and 9 days. Jackie married Kenneth E. Daugherty on February 26, 1994 in Bourbon, Missouri. She worked all of her adult life as a CNA in Briarwood then Cuba Manor and most recently at Veterans Home in St. James, Missouri. She enjoyed playing bingo. Vicki Ann Dawson Vickie Ann Dawson of St. James, Missouri, was born in St. Louis, Missouri on June 1, 1953 to Edward and Dorothy (Denton) Sewell and passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018 at the age of 65 years. She married Billie Dawson on October 4, 1969. Vickie enjoyed being a stay at home mom. She enjoyed her many flower gardens and while living at the farm, a big vegetable garden. She was an exceptional baker and cook, always making sure they had homemade breads, everyone in the family was especially fond of her stuffing. Not only was she a tremendous cook, but an excellent baker as well. She was know around town for her beautiful wedding and specialty cakes. Vicki was also a "people person" she loved to visit with everyone and her motto was "a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet." She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Dorothy Sewell; son, Eddie Dawson; and brother, Sonny Jones. She married James "Red" Eaton on March 3, 1950 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. Pauline was a piece worker in Cuba Shoe Factory and later at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, Missouri. She enjoyed camping, crocheting and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Fannie Myers; husband, James "Red" Eaton; brothers, Paul Myers, Joe Myers and David (Jackie) Myers; infant brother, Roy Lee Myers; sisters, Ann King and Janette McIntosh; nephew, Roy Lee King; and nieces, Laura Belle Hanley and Maryann Pyle. Joseph "Joe" Stephan Slowensky Joseph "Joe" Stephan Slowensky of The Woodlands, Texas was born in St Louis, Missouri on February 21, 1938 and passed away Friday, October 12, 2018 at the age of 80 years. Joe graduated from Ottumwa High School in Iowa and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University. He was married to Sylvia Jane Meyer on May 18, 1963, and they celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary this year. Joe had a career in the oil and gas industry working for Gulf Oil and Chevron Chemical Corporation. He was an active member of John Wesley United Methodist Church and The Woodlands United Methodist Church. He enjoyed golf in his early retirement years, jazz music, trivia games and his four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Andrew Slowensky and Clara Genevieve Stephan; brother, Relfe Theodore Slowensky; and daughter-in-law, Charmee Slowensky. Stock of Cuba, Missouri was born to Bernard "Ben" and Lucille (Birtley) Stock on April 7, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2018 at the age of 87 years. Clarence married Janet Boese on September 6, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri. Clarence honorably served his country in the United States Air Force Reserves and later as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was awarded two Purple Hearts, Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Good Conduct Medal. Clarence retired as a Cement Mason and was a 67 year member of Cement Masons Local #527. He would later work for Mullally Distributing Company in Cuba, Missouri. He was a parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church and a member of American Legion Post #522. He enjoyed playing golf, deer hunting, fishing and traveling. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard "Ben" and Lucille (Birtley) Stock; three infant children, Gary, April and David Stock; two grandchildren, Taylor Stock and Cali Faaborg; two sisters, Rosemary Dillon and Mary Brown; and two brothers, Leland Schneider and Ray Stock. Linda Wine Linda Wine of Salem, Missouri was born July 25, 1954 in Granite City, Illinois to the late Arthur Joseph and Hattie (Pogue) Phillips and passed away Sunday October 13, 2018, at the age of 64 years. Linda was united in marriage to James Wine on May 29, 1967 and to this union three children were born. The spent 51 wonderful years together. Linda enjoyed and took pride in everything she did. She spent many years working with children in a Literacy Program and at the local McDonalds.
