She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman B. Goewert; daughter, Jacqueline Meyer and grandson, Joseph Wodohodsky. She is survived by her son, Gordon Dale Paton and fiancé Barbara McCullen of New Jersey; two granddaughters, Sheri (Paton) Straughn of Kirkwood, Missouri and Stacie (Paton) Guirl of Des Peres, Missouri; great grand- children, KC Drew Liam Straughn of Kirkwood, Missouri and Ashley and Alex Guirl of Des Peres, Missouri; sister, Lorraine Walker of Tallahassee, Florida; dear friends, Jeanne Snodgrass and Elaine Edwards of Steelville, Missouri. Delmar Dewayne Hanks Delmar Dewayne Hanks of Sikeston, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, was born August 15, 1946 in Steelville to Earl Woodrow Hanks and Frances Anna (Hopkins) Hanks and passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 63 years. On August 16, 1992 in Sikeston, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Kay Bewley. Delmar was in the U.S. Navy and served during the Vietnam era where he earned three Bronze Stars. He retired in 2006 after many years of being on the road as a truck driver with PTI in Sikeston. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing at their home in Wappapello Lake, hunting and most of all loving all of his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Frances Hanks; four brothers, James Hanks, Joe Hanks and wife Alma, Earl Hanks and Gene Hanks and wife Anita and one grandson, John Edyvean, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Kay Hanks of Sikeston, Missouri; four daughters, Christina Clark and husband Mark, Lisa Clark and husband Eddy, all of Fredricktown, Missouri, Becky Dawson and husband Dwight of Oahu, Hawaii and Mollie Coulter and husband John of Ft. Memories were shared by daughter, Lisa Clark. Committal prayer and burial with full military honors were conducted by the U.S. Navy and the St. James VFW in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Ruth Hines Ruth Hines of St. Charles, Missouri, born in Cuba, Missouri to James L. and Laura Maude Naugle and passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2009, at the age of 94. Ruth was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting, sewing, and playing Scrabble. She was a member of the St. Charles Presbyterian Church, St. Charles, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodie J. Hines; sisters, Estelle Johnson, Gladys Rice, Edith King, and Edna Tompkins and son, James William Hines. She is survived by her children, Ruth Anne Hines and Jim Hines; daughter-in-law, Jan Hines; grandchildren, Kathy Hutcheson and Susan Silliman; and six great grandchildren. Joyce Gail Ledbetter Joyce Gail Ledbetter of Cuba, Missouri was born Friday, June 25, 1937 at Centerville, Missouri to Chester and Sylvia (nee: Camden) Martin and passed away Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 25 days. Joyce was united in marriage to Lawrence E. “Moe” Ledbetter on January 26, 1974 at Clayton, Missouri. Joyce was part of the first group of Meter maids in St. Louis. After living in St. Louis for many years they moved to Cuba in the mid 1980’s. She worked for Custom Printing in Owensville for 10 years before going to work at the Cuba Wal-Mart where she became known as “The Wal-Mart Lady.” Joyce enjoyed scratch off lottery tickets, playing bingo, the St. Louis Cardinals, trying out new restaurants, “White Castles”, and in her younger years she enjoyed fishing, camping and the outdoors. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Sylvia Martin; husband, Moe Ledbetter; infant daughter, Victoria Meyers; granddaughter, Rene’ Meyers; other relatives and friends. Lewis was born October 3, 1979 in Maryville, Illinois to Ricky Lewis Sr. and Wilma (Johnson) Lewis and passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at his home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 30 years and 18 days. Rodney was employed as a dry wall finisher. He loved fishing, football and just being outdoors with friends and family. Monda Howard Wayne Monda of Cuba, Missouri was born Thursday, January 25, 1940 at Cuba, Missouri, to Willie “Gus” and Icealine (nee Edgar) Monda and passed away Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at Cuba at the age of 69 years, 8 months and 27 days. Howard was united in marriage to Doris Jean Geller on April 18, 1959 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union three sons were born. Howard worked many years as a truck driver for Ottis Brother’s and then for West Contracting. He was a member of the Local 840 Union Hall. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, mushroom hunting and just being outdoors. Lucy married Lemro Moore in Edgar Springs, Missouri in August of 1946 and to this union seven children were born. Lucy at one time, worked as a cook for the Midway Motel and U-Save restaurant in Cuba, Missouri. Her hobbies were sewing, embroidering, and making quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sherman and Mamie Nunn; sister, Mary Turner; son, Kenneth E. Moore; grandson, William Moore; brothers-in-law, Elmer (Rebecca) Moore and Virgil Chronister; and sister-in-law, Rosie (William) Rueter. Wanda owned and operated a bar and grill restaurant for many years. After retirement, she enjoyed shopping and pampering herself. She married Robert F. Schroeder on June 15, 2007 in St. Clair County, Illinois. She was preceded in death by her parents, Champ and Gustia Martin; brothers, Charlie, Delmar “Red”, Haskell and Joe Martin; sister, Margie Nagle; brothers-in-law Laddie Bass, Carl Carter and Forest Nagle.
