MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 28, 2015 Mabel Asher Mabel Asher was born May 3, 1928 to Henry and Girtie (Stricklin) Asher at Bixby, Missouri and passed away October 18, 2015 at the age of 87 years. Mabel was a member of Hickory Grove Assembly of God and she taught Sunday school for many years. Mabel enjoyed quilting, embroidery, cross stitching, playing music and loved reading. She was a master of gardening and had a green thumb with flowers and gardens. Mabel was a retired school teacher and had taught school in the area for over 40 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Girtie Asher; sister, Della Walker; and six infant siblings. She is survived by her brothers, Jackson Asher and wife Ruth of St. James, Missouri, Herman Asher of Bixby, Missouri, Montie Asher and wife Linda of Bixby, Missouri, Emmett Asher and wife Brenda of Bixby, Missouri, Vernon Asher and wife Mary Lou of Caledonia, Missouri; sisters, Vernie Asher of Bixby, Missouri, Goldie Keister of Des Arc, Missouri and Helen Walz of Viburnum, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held Thursday, October 22, 2015 at The Wilson Mortuary Viburnum Chapel with Bro. Paul Davis and Bro. Paul Pryor officiating. Special music was provided by Jim Pryor and Kay Jackson. Pallbearers were Kenneth Asher, Randy Asher, Nathan Asher, Henry Asher, Gary Asher, Jeff Asher and Mike Thompson. Interment was in the Crocker-Stricklin Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of the Wilson Mortuary, Viburnum, Missouri. Cecil "Bud" Irvin Hedrick Cecil "Bud" Irvin Hedrick of Bixby, Missouri was born on Thursday, May 26, 1938 in Goodwater, Missouri to Elmer F. and Nancy Annie Medley Hedrick and passed away on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the age of 77 years, 4 months and 25 days. Bud worked and retired from the Doe Run Lead Mining Company and lived in the Bixby area most of his life. He enjoyed the outdoors and especially liked driving around in his truck riding the back roads. He also, liked deer hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Nancy Hedrick; grandson, Bradley Gibson; sister, Jean Todd; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Neoma (Herbert) Sterling; Carl (Isabelle) Cole and Robert Brand; friend, Morris Ray. He is survived by his companion, Shirley Dunlap of Bixby, Missouri; her son, Eric (Jenny) Ray of Steelville, Missouri; children, Jim (Staci) Hedrick of Arnold, Missouri, Cathy Goodson and Kenneth (Machelle) Hedrick of Park Hills, Missouri and Chris (Bradley) Vincent of Mineral Point, Missouri; brothers, Lloyd (Ruby) Hedrick and Everett Hedrick; sisters, Bobbie Hedrick and Ada Brand, all of Belleview, Missouri and Ruth (Jerry) Limbaugh of Salem, Missouri; brother-in-law, Clifford Todd of Steelville, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Sunday, October 25, 2105 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Monday, October 26, 2015 at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with George Civey officiating. Burial was at the Upper Indian Creek Cemetery, Viburnum, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Clent Christopher Martin Clent Christopher Martin of Salem, Missouri, formerly of Cherryville, Missouri was born June 6, 1933 at Cherryville, Missouri to James H. and Sara Lou Oxendine Martin and passed away Thursday, October 22, 2015 at the age of 82 years. On July 4, 1985 in Villa Ridge, Missouri he was united in marriage to Martha Smith. Clent was employed in St. Louis, Missouri for many years in construction. He enjoyed coon hunting with his dogs, loved his "Dodge" truck and admiring beautiful roses. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Sara Martin; one son, Terry Martin; two step-sons, Harold Hedrick and Steve Cox; four brothers, Kenneth, Dwight, James and Ed Martin; one sister, Ollie Halbert; and two grandchildren, Joel Summers and Brenda Hedrick. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Martha Martin of Salem, Missouri; son, Randy Martin of House Springs, Missouri; three daughters, Carol Cox of Arnold, Missouri, Missy Mueller of Sullivan, Missouri and Ellie Weckerly of Salem, Missouri; step-son, Ron Hedrick of House Springs, Missouri; two sisters, Lucille Harmon of Steelville, Missouri and Bernice King of Hillsboro, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, Justin Rowley, Matt Cox, Gerald Summers, Tony Cox, Chris Cox, James Bauer, William Bauer, Chris Martin, David Hedrick, Ron Stufflebean, Rhonda Stufflebean, Linda Jeffries and Beverly Hedrick; several great grandchildren; one step-great grandson; great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. The family chose cremation as the final disposition. There will be no services at this time. Arrangements under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
