(Wil) Edgar was born December 13, 1928, in Craddock, Missouri to Gentry and Jannie (Mace) Edgar and passed away October 21, 2014 at the age of 85 years, 10 months and 8 days. He married Lou Ann Buckner April 23, 1949. They were the parents of seven children. Wil served in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the Rolla Church of the Nazarene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gentry and Jannie Edgar; two sisters, Rudy Jean Edgar and Anna Mary Sherman; two sons, Stan Edgar and Stephen Edgar; and grandson, Jeremy Williams. Leota Evans Leota Evans, nee Hutson, of Steelville, Missouri was born August 19, 1941 at Keysville, Missouri to Noble and Bessie Mabel Oxendine Hutson and passed away Sunday, October 19, 2014 at the age of 73 years and 2 months. On March 1, 1958, Leota was united in marriage to Warren Alvie Evans. Leota spent many hours tending to her garden, making quilts and was a dedicated babysitter/granny to many. She was preceded in death by her parents, Noble and Bessie Hutson; her husband, Warren Alvie Evans in 2004; one son, Dobie Evans; one brother, Jerry Hutson; two sisters, Georgia Worley and husband Tad and Juanita Land and husband Harold; and one brother-in-law, Herman Bilbrey. She is survived by her three sons, Johnny Evans and wife Tami and J.D. Virginia Leora Pyatt Hewkin Virginia Leora Pyatt Hewkin, nee Brown, of Davisville, Missouri was born January 6, 1934 in Davisville, Missouri to Harry and Delpha Marie Green Brown and passed away Monday, October 20, 2014 at the age of 80 years, 9 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage on December 3, 1949 to Troy Pyatt who preceded her in death in 1973. She later married Homer Hewkin on December 19, 1979 who also preceded her in death in 2008. Leora was a member of Center Ridge Pentecostal Church. She enjoyed puzzle books, watching television and reading. She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Delpha Brown; her husbands, Troy Pyatt and Homer Hewkin; sister, Lucy Turnbough; sisters and brothers-in-law, Brenda Brown, Harold Cooper, Ray Anderson, Geneva Pyatt and Ima Jean McBenge and husband Lester. Mosby, III of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday, November 15, 1931 in St. Louis, Missouri to John Charles and Mariam Ruth Ferris Mosby and passed away Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the age of 82 years, 11 months and 11 days. John served his country honorably in the United States Air Force from 1951 to November 1972. He married Peggy Lou Trigg in 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union four sons were born. John worked as a publisher in St. Louis, Missouri for many years and then moved to Cuba, Missouri, a community to which he felt deeply connected. The last several years, he worked at Jim's Motors until retirement. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, or share his knowledge and expertise with others. "Do as I say, not as I do", was a common refrain. He was a regular at Dottie's Restaurant and active member in the First Presbyterian Church of Cuba, Missouri. He also, enjoyed floating on Missouri waterways and the soothing calm peace it provided, but by far his greatest passion in life was flying. Whether for fun, travel or excitement his passion reflected his zest for life. He was so dedicated that he donated land to the city for the Cuba Airport (Mosby Field) to promote aviation in the area. "Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth, put out my hand and touched the face of God." He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Mariam Mosby; son, Joseph Mosby; and grandson Tyler Mosby. He is survived by his sons, John C. Ray, nee Lutzenberger, of Bourbon, Missouri was born on Friday, February 9, 1934 in Bourbon, Missouri to Clyde Edgar and Opal Loraine Mitchell Lutzenberger and passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of 80 years, 8 months and 13 days. Helen married Ralph E. Ray on May 26, 1951 in Sullivan, Missouri officiated by Rev. Perkins and spent their honeymoon at the old Sunrise Motel in Sullivan, Missouri. They purchased their first home in St. Louis, Missouri where Helen worked as a manager at White Castle. She worked there several years before they decided to purchase a farm in St. Clair, Missouri. She quickly changed occupations by raising bucket calves and Duroc pigs. She's always had a love for animals, especially taking in every stray that wandered into the farm. She raised huge gardens and enjoyed canning the vegetables. In later years, they left the farm and built a new house in Bourbon, Missouri on her grandparent's place. Her landscaping skills made this one of the most beautiful homes in Bourbon. She attended First Assembly of God Church in Sullivan, Missouri for years where she ministered to the shut-ins. She visited them weekly, always taking them gifts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Opal Lutzenberger; husband, Ralph; and grandson, Corey. She is survived by her children, Bonnie (Jim) Tullock, Marvin Ray, and Terrie (Frank) Faherty, all of Bourbon, Missouri; grandchildren, Rachel Ray, Matthew and Matt Tullock; four great grandchildren, Levi Graddy, Brodie and Cidni Ehren and Brett Bowling; special cousin, Marvin Blum of Sullivan, Missouri; and soon to of been a great great grandmother; other relatives and friends. Charles Roth Charles Roth, formerly of Charleston, St. James and St. Joseph, Missouri, was born November 18, 1945 in Cairo, Illinois to Leo and Rosella Roth and passed away on October 20, 2014, in Norfolk, Virginia at the age of 69 years. Charles retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer after 20 plus years of service and was self-employed. He is survived by son, David of Santee, California; grandchildren, Nick and Casandra; brothers Thomas Roth of Dayton, Ohio, Robert (Donna) Roth of Rancho Murieta, California; sister, Carolyn Sue Classick of Norfolk, Virginia; other relatives and friends. Services are pending. Morris Scott Morris Edward Scott, a life-long resident of Sullivan, Missouri was born to Vivian and Leona Scott and passed away Wednesday, October 22, at the age of 90 years. He graduated from Sullivan High School in 1943 and enlisted into the United States Navy the summer after graduation to serve in World War II. After boot camp in Idaho, he attended radar school in San Diego, California. Morris ran radar on classified missions aboard ships including the Zuella Lites. He was also trained and served as a gunner. Coxswain Scott was proud to serve in the Liberation of the Philippines. He returned to the states in 1946 and in March married Juanita Pursley of Robertsville, Missouri. Their marriage celebrated 68 years of commitment and they were blessed with four children. Morris worked as a lab technician at Ramsey Corporation for 40 years and retired in 1990. He joined the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace workers union and served many positions. Post retirement, he worked at Associated Crafts in Sullivan, Missouri for 10 years. Through the years he also worked as an electrician part-time. Volunteer work was a priority for Morris. He served 55 years with the Sullivan Volunteer Fire Department. Morris was a lifetime member of First Baptist Church and for many years he drove and maintained the bus ministry. He was a member of the O.O.F Lodge and proudly served in The American Legion. He was a current member of the Bourbon Quilters' Guild. Morris was an avid angler, hunter and gardener. He is survived by his wife, Juanita; four children, Cheryl Webb and husband Wayne of Bourbon, Missouri, Sheila Scott Paul of Gray, Georgia, Sarina Scott of Sullivan, Missouri and Carisa Scott of Denver, Colorado; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends. Freddie Emmitt Whitaker Sr. Freddie Emmitt Whitaker Sr. was born February 26, 1936 in Dent County, Missouri and passed away October 19, 2014 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 78 years. On February 14, 1957, Freddie Emmitt Whitaker Sr. married Betty Louise White and to this union two children were born. Freddie enjoyed country music and enjoyed selling and trading cars. He was known for his famous saying "Knee Deep in Rubber". Freddie was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Freddie was a family man and loved his family very much. He was preceded in death by his parents, Estel John D. Cread and Thelma Irene (Mahurin) Whitaker; brother, Timothy D. Wechel; and sister, Estina Faye Whitaker. Candise Aston White Candise Aston White, nee Scott, of Steelville, Missouri was born on Friday, October 31, 1986 in Festus, Missouri to Ralph Edward and Donna Kay Bell Scott and passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the age of 27 years, 11 months and 18 days. She married Darrell Spencer White on May 30, 2008 in Steelville, Missouri and to this union a daughter was born. Candise accepted the Lord early in life, where she attended Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri. She later attended Covenant Praise Church of God in Cuba, Missouri. Candise loved to hunt, fish and do scrapbooking. Her young daughter, Lexie, was the love of her life. She enjoyed her job at Cuba Manor as a Certified Nurses Aid and Certified Med Tech. In this capacity her compassion blessed many lives, and she truly enjoyed working with the elderly. She was preceded in death by her father, Ralph Edward Scott; father-in-law, Julius "Abe" White; aunts, Glenda Caron and June McConnell; and cousin, Eric Clouse.
