Martin J. Broadhurst
Martin J. Broadhurst, formally of St. Louis, Missouri was born
October 10, 1943, in Hickman, Kentucky to William Broadhurst and
Coren Jones and passed away Thursday, October 24, 2013, at his home
in Bland, Missouri at the age of 70 years.
On September 12, 1992, Martin was united in marriage to Mildred Ware
in Belle, Missouri.
Martin was a resident of the St. Louis area and worked at the
Quality Market Street Supermarket for 13 years before he and Mildred
moved to the Bland area where they lived for over 10 years. During
that time he worked for Playmaster in Bland, Missouri and Custom
Printing in Owensville, Missouri before retiring. Martin loved to
play his guitar along with the gospel stations off the radio. Martin
and Mildred were in a gospel group called the Heavenly Highway
Gospel Singers at one time.He is survived by his wife, Mildred; two
sons, Daniel Broadhurst of Leasburg, Missouri and Ferrell Watson
and his wife Debbie of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Pam
Watson of St. Louis, Missouri; five grandchildren, Amanda Broadhurst,
Dawn Wallace, Sheri Watson, Luis Macias, and Michael Watson; three
great grandchildren, Shianne Watson, Tessa Watson and Elijah Watson;
other relatives and friends.
A graveside service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2013
at the Bland Union Cemetery in Bland, Missouri with Randy Carr
officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of the Sassmann’s Chapel.
Kevin Scott Clonts
Kevin Scott Clonts of the Oak Hill area near Cuba, Missouri was born
on November 22, 1972 at St. Louis Missouri and passed away as a
result of an automobile accident on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at
the age of 40 years, 10 months and 27 days.
Kevin was a life-long resident of the Sullivan and Cuba areas. He
was a 1991 graduate of Sullivan High School and later worked for a
time at Brown Shoe Company and then as a commercial truck driver.
The past 10 years he was employed between Chuck’s Towing Company
in Sullivan, Missouri and I-44 Truck and Towing Company in
St. Clair, Missouri.
Kevin was trained as a First Responder and had obtained his basic
HAZMAT training. He enjoyed truck and tractor pulls, honing his
farming skills and riding his motorcycle. He was also a member of
the Ride of the Century motorcycle circuit.
He was a member of the Sullivan Christian Church and on
October 5, 2013 was married on the family farm to Carla Friday with
Pastor Grady O’Dell officiating.
He is survived by his bride of two weeks, Carla Rene Clonts of the
family home; two sons, Brandon Clonts of St. Clair, Missouri and
Sean Clonts of Cuba, Missouri; two step-sons, Zachary Ruble of
Cuba, Missouri and Kurtis L. Moll of Cuba, Missouri; one daughter,
Holly Clonts of St. Clair, Missouri; his parents, Kenny and
Debbie Clonts of Cuba, Missouri; a brother, Tom Clonts of
Sullivan, Missouri; a sister, Jennifer Clonts of Cuba, Missouri;
parents-in-law, Donna Frazier of Big Sandy, Tennessee and Steve
Hackney of Ware, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 10:30 a.m. until time of service at
1 p.m. on Thursday, October 24, 2013 from the Eaton Funeral Home
in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted at 1 p.m. on Thursday,
October 24, 2013 from the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri
with Pastor Grady O’Dell officiating.
Interment was in the Oak Hill Cemetery, rural Cuba, Missouri.

Theresa “Terry” Lynn Crowley
Theresa “Terry” Lynn Crowley of St. James, Missouri was born
March 27, 1957 in Holden, Massachusetts to Charles and Dorothy
(Claus) Crawford Meuer and passed away Friday, October 18, 2013
suddenly at her home at the age of 56 years.
On June 15, 1991 Theresa Rodgers became the bride of Timothy Crowley.
Terry brought two daughters to this union and they quickly became a
family of four.
Terry was very involved in her family and as the years passed her
children left the nest to have families of their own, it was then
she discovered the joys of being a grandmother. She was blessed with
four granddaughters and a grandson. They were her greatest joy and
as they grew she loved attending the various sporting events,
Christmas programs or just having them for a sleepover.
Terry also enjoyed Cardinals baseball, decorating the house, and
taking good care of her husband Tim for the last 22 years.
She is survived by her husband, Tim of the home; daughters,
Rhiannon Rodgers of St. James, Missouri and Stephanie Way and
husband Heath of San Diego, California; step-father, Frank Meurer
of St. James, Missouri; brothers, Doug Crawford of St. James,
Missouri and Christopher Crawford and wife Cindy of St. James,
Missouri; grandchildren, Mackenzie and Savannah Ketcherside, Emilie,
Addison, and Isabelle Way; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 4 p.m. until service time at 7 p.m. at
the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Services were held Friday, October 25, 2013 at 7 p.m. at the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Jerry
Baumann officiating.

Victoria Nogales Torrecillia Cunningham
Victoria Nogales Torrecillia Cunningham was born in Seville, Spain
on December 27, 1944 to Manuela Torrecillia Rodriguez and Manuel
Nogales Vasquez and passed away Friday, October 18, 2013.
She worked as a seamstress in Seville, Spain.
She was united in marriage to Jimmie Cunningham on March 24, 1968.
She was a member of Owensville First Baptist Church until she moved
with her family to Sullivan, Missouri where she was a member of
Temple Baptist Church.
She became a naturalized citizen of the United States on
January 6, 1978. She attended and received an associate’s degree
from the Rolla Technical Institute. She worked for and retired from
Brown Shoe Company in Owensville, Missouri. Victoria loved the Lord,
her family, flowers, sewing, working with children and travel.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuela Torrecillia
Rodriguez and Manuel Nogales Vasquez.
She is survived by her husband, Jim of Sullivan, Missouri; daughter,
Cynthia Lynn Campbell and husband Bryan of Steeleville, Missouri;
son, Jared Lee Cunningham and wife Jean of Gerald, Missouri; grand-
daughters, Jacquelyn Jones, Caeley, Gabrielle and Isabel Campbell;
grandsons, Daniel Winter and Jace Cunningham; great grandson,
Kieston; sisters, Rosario Shollenberger of Spencer, New York and
Luz Nogales of Seville, Spain; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at Temple Baptist
Church in Sullivan, Missouri from 9 a.m. until time of service.
Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., on Tuesday,
October 22, 2013 from Temple Baptist Church in Sullivan, Missouri
with Pastor Scott Perry officiating.
Interment was in the Schmidt Cemetery.

Beverly Charlene Garrison
Beverly Charlene Garrison (nee Helms) of St. Louis, Missouri, formerly
of Steelville, Missouri, was born on Monday, February 2, 1981 in
Rolla, Missouri to Warren Dwayne and Dale J. Bell Helms and passed
away at Gibbs Care Center, Steelville, Missouri on Tuesday,
October 15, 2013 at the age of 32 years, 8 months and 13 days.
Beverly was a homemaker and had volunteered at the Patch Food Pantry
in St. Louis, Missouri. She enjoyed crocheting, working with crafts
and coloring.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Earl Bell and Thelma
Bridges and Vernon Helms and Carrie Hinch Bell and father, Warren
Helms.
She is survived by her mother, Dale Bell Helms of Cherryville,
Missouri; children, Brandon Baltzell and Autumn Baltzell of Bourbon,
Missouri; brothers and sisters, Dwayne (Christina) Helms of
O’Fallon, Missouri, Gail (Cliff) Dunn of St. Charles, Missouri,
Shannon Nugent of Steelville, Missouri, Andy (Joy) Helms of
Cherryville, Missouri, Amy (Thomas) Watson of Doe Run, Missouri and
Jamie Helms of Cherryville, Missouri; companion, Ricardo L. Reyes
of St. Louis, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, October 17, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
and funeral service was at 1 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Rodney Martin officiating.
Burial was at the Sligo Cemetery.

Rhudell Jeffords
Rhudell Jeffords (nee Mott) of Brookport, Illinois was born to Lloyd
and Lora (Nelson) Mott on June 19, 1921 in Renshaw, Illinois and
passed away Monday, October 14, 2013 at the age of 92 years.
Each year Rhudell planted a garden and would then spend hours canning
vegetables and making all kinds of jelly that she shared with everyone
she knew and loved. Tending to her flowers and yard was an everyday
event and her hard work didn’t go unnoticed because she won awards
for the “Yard of the Month.”
Rhudell and Les traveled and camped in their younger years, always
taking some of the grandsons with them. They belonged to the Massac
Modulators CB Club and her handle was “Silver Streak.”
She was always cooking and baking, especially her chicken and
dumplings. During the holidays there was homemade Christmas candy
and a tree decorated in the color red. Red was truly the color that
Rhudell liked the most.Rhudell was an amazing lady who was full of
love, laughter, smiles and the rock of the family.She was preceded
in death by her parents, Lloyd and Lora Mott; one brother, Lloyd
Mott, Jr.; and her former husband, Charles Leslie Jeffords.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sue and husband Dick Mizell
and Patricia Ann and husband Ellis Wayne Reynolds, all of Granite
City, Illinois; four grandsons, Tim Mizell and friend Julie of Granite
City, Illinois, Don and wife Lesa Mizell of Cuba, Missouri, Bryan and
wife Olivia Reynolds, Jason Mizell and friend Jessica, all of Granite
City, Illinois; two granddaughters-in-law, Debye Mizell of Granite
City, Illinois and Delaine Young of High Hill, Missouri; 11 great
grandchildren Noah, Isaiah, Amanda, Jaime, Kayla, Macey, Tyler, A
ustin, Michael, Drew and Dillan; three brothers-in-law, Ned and
wife June Jeffords of Golconda, Illinois, Ted and wife Juanita
Jeffords of Manteno, Illinois, William “Shot” and wife Alice
Jeffords of Golconda, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 11 a.m.
to 1 p.m. at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel in Brookport,
Illinois
Funeral service was held on Saturday, October 19, 2013 at 1 p.m.
at the Aikins-Farmer Brookport Chapel with Lesa Mizell, officiating.
Interment followed at the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Golconda, Illinois.

Augustine Olive Robinson
Augustine Olive “Teena” Robinson, was born in Stonington, Maine on
September 8, 1927 to Levi and Edna (Dunham) Barter and passed away
on Saturday, October 19, 2013 in Odessa, Texas at the age of
86 years.
As a young child the family moved to Searsport, Maine. After high
school, she and a close friend moved to Boston, Massachusetts to
find jobs. One stormy and rainy evening in 1945, the two young ladies
dove under a department store canopy to avoid being drenched. About
the same time, a couple of handsome sailors on liberty had the same
idea. The next year, on March 16, 1946, Teena became the bride of one
of those sailors, Bedford Lee Robinson, Jr., also known as: Brent,
B.L., Buddy, or Junior.
The newlyweds moved to B.L.’s home state of Missouri to begin their
family. Nine years and five children later, the Robinson clan moved
to Edwardsville, Illinois. Shortly after moving, Teena, responding
to a visit from a couple of members of a small storefront Baptist
church, attended their worship service. In a few short weeks, the
family began attending the Meadowbrook Church of God.
After four of the five children were out of the nest, Teena and
B.L. felt that God was calling them into full-time ministry. They
moved to Ottumwa, Iowa to pastor a rural congregation. For the next
32 years, Teena followed at B.L.’s side as they served churches in
Iowa, Mississippi, Tennessee, South Dakota and Missouri. Even after
their retirement, they continued to help churches whenever and
wherever they were needed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Levi and Edna Barter; her
husband, B.L. on December 11, 2001; and her daughter, Linda Susan
Dragovich.
She is survived by her sister, Margarite Engstrom of Searsport,
Maine; her son, Terry Robinson and wife Cheryl of Odessa, Texas; two
twin sons, Gary Robinson and wife Jean of East Alton, Illinois and
Larry Robinson and wife Cheryl of Spring, Texas; and daughter, Bonnie
Willis of Little Rock, Arkansas; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grand-
children; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held at 10 a.m. on Friday October 25, 2013 at the
First Church of God in St. James
Funeral service was conducted at 1 p.m. at the First Church of God
in St. James, Missouri with Don Carson Officiating.
Burial was in the St. James Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Mary Elizabeth Setzekorn
Mary Elizabeth Setzekorn nee Guth of Acton, California was born on
Saturday, June 5, 1926 in Washington, D.C. to Christian and Mimi
Busch Guth and passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at
Antelope Valley Hospital, Lancaster, California at the age of
87 years, 4 months and 5 days.
Mary married James “Jim” William Setzekorn in St. Louis, Missouri
and to this union one son was born.
Several years ago, Mary worked at Brown Shoe Company, then later
as a Nurses Aid at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri.
She had served as a Cub Scout’s Den Mother and was a member of
the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She also supported her husband in the
Lion’s Club. She enjoyed reading romantic novels and Zane Grey
Westerns. Mary spent a lot of time reading her Bible.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Christian and Mimi
Busch Guth; husband, Jim Setzekorn; and brother-in-law, George
Setzekorn.
She is survived by her son, John and wife Sherry Setzekorn of
Acton, California; grandson, Chris Anderson of Acton, California;
other relatives and friends.
Graveside memorial service is noon on Monday, November 4, 2013 at
Mt. Lebanon Cemetery, St. Ann, Missouri with Pastor Stoney Shaw
officiating.
Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Harold W. Thoms
Harold W. Thoms of Sullivan, Missouri was born on August 21, 1951 to
Charles and Nina (Land) Thoms at St. Louis, Missouri and passed away
Saturday, October 26, 2013 at the age of 62 years, 2 months and 5 days.
On May 14, 1988 Harold was united in marriage to Lisa Alexander at
Sullivan, Missouri and three children were born to their union.
Harold was employed as a Print Operator at Alton Box Company in
Pacific, Missouri for many years. He was a member of the V.F.W.
Russell Schmidt Post 3987 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 3781.
He was very community minded and volunteered many hours at the
Eagles, where he was involved in several activities including
the Christmas Basket Program. He also participated in Relay for
Life and loved playing Santa Claus. Harold was famous for his
barbecue and helping others. His last act of kindness was to
donate his organs for transplant.
He is survived by his wife, Lisa Thoms of Sullivan, Missouri; two
sons, Anthony Thoms and wife Christine and Kevin Thoms, all of
Sullivan, Missouri; one daughter, Amy Thoms of Sullivan, Missouri;
two brothers, Richard Thoms and wife Cindy of Washington, Missouri
and Robbie Thoms of Sullivan, Missouri; three sisters, Judy Ficke
and husband Jim, Nancy Clark and husband Roy, all of Sullivan,
Missouri and Darlene Phares of Bourbon, Missouri; seven grand-
children, Danielle, Destiny, Kolby, Andrew, Konner, Karter, Kindra;
other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2013
from the Eaton Southside Chapel in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor
Christian Cleghorn officiating.
Interment was in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
Fraternal Order of Eagles service was conducted at 7 p.m. on
Monday, October 28, 2013.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home in
Sullivan, Missouri.
Theodore Earl Ward
Theodore Earl Ward of Owensville, Missouri was born in St. Louis,
Missouri on February 7, 1944 to Earl Thomas and Catherine Jean
(Clodfelter) Ward and passed away Sunday, October 27, 2013 at his
residence at the age of 69 years.
On October 9, 1965 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in St. Louis he
was united in marriage to Laura Ann Kordonowy.
He had served his country with the Missouri National Guard. He was
a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville,
Missouri.
He is survived by his wife, Laura; their children, Michael L. Ward
and wife Laura Remshardt-Ward of Jefferson City, Missouri,
Catherine M. Stewart of Owensville, Missouri and Matthew A. Ward
and wife Hillary Haase-Ward of Gerald, Missouri; sisters, Linda
Ray and husband Walter of Fenton, Missouri and Beverly Pierson of
St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren, Patrick, Benjamin, Ella,
Joyce, Sam and Aidan; other relatives and friends.
Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. on Friday, November 1, 2013 at
the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2013 at
11 a.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri
with Fr. Francis Doyle officiating.
Burial will be in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in
Owensville, Missouri.
