MO Local Obituaries for the Week of October 31, 2018 Walter David Franklin Walter David Franklin of St. James, Missouri was born in Clarendon, Arkansas on August 22, 1946 to Henry and Lorraine (Steen) Pedroli and passed away on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the age of 72 years. He married Nita DeGregorio on April 23, 196., Walter was a member of the First Baptist Church. He drove the bus to pick up children for Awana and vacation Bible school. He really loved to fish and would head out to Maramec Spring every chance he could. He used to always go early to be there when the whistle blew, but later he had decided that a really good fisherman didn't have to be there that early, so he would go later on in the day and still catch his limit. His church family was always real happy when he had a good fishing day, because they knew that he was always kind enough to share. Walter and Nita always had a nice garden when they had the garden space. He drove a propane truck for Ferrell Gas for over 20 years. As he got to know his customers, he really watched out for them, especially the families that were mostly in the rural areas that if flooding or winter weather was coming he would always remind them, that, if they needed help he would come in his four-wheel drive to get them out of the situation. He was a good Christian man and held firm to his values and beliefs that if someone needs something, and you can help, that is the proper thing to do. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lorraine Pedroli; and brothers, John, Russell and Paulie Moody. Carl Hughes Carl Hughes of Poplar Bluff, Missouri was born January 15, 1929 in St. Louis, Missouri to Hoyt and Viola Hughes and passed away Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at the age of 89 years. On May 28, 1950 Carl married Mary Ann Housewright. Carl was a member of First Baptist Church in Piedmont, Missouri. He served as a deacon in the church for many years. Corporal Hughes proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1954 during the Korean War. Carl worked for Brown Shoe Company in Piedmont, Missouri for 25 years, after which he built one of the first car washes named Carl's Car Wash in 1965. In 1970 he purchased Holiday Ice Company and changed the name to Piedmont Ice Company. He operated in Piedmont, Missouri until 1981 when he moved the operation to Poplar Bluff, Missouri and renamed it Bluff City Ice, which operated as a family owned business for 45 years. He received a prestigious award during this time, The Missouri Valley Ice Association Lifetime Achievement Award, for all his contributions to the Ice Industry. Carl was a member of the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge, the V.F.W., American Legion, Missouri Valley Ice Association, and the International Packaged Ice Association for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Viola Hughes; wife, Mary Ann on February 1, 1998; four brothers, Ed, Ervin, Bernie and Jim Hughes; and three sisters, Bonnie, Patsy and Harriet. Delmer Eugene Limberg Delmar Eugene Limberg of Owensville, Missouri was born in Owensville, Missouri on November 21, 1939 to August Fred and Maggie Rogen (Caroll) Limberg and passed away on Monday, October 22 at the age of 78 years, 11 months, and 1 day. He was united in marriage to Betty Barrick on February 2, 1994 at Steelville, Missouri. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Owensville, Missouri. He enjoyed fishing, bingo, and going to the casinos playing cards. He was a retired assembler for Chrysler Manufacturing Plant. He was preceded in death by his parents, August and Maggie Limberg; his wife, Betty Barrick; one daughter, Melissa Limberg; one brother, John Limberg; and one sister, Alvina Kurrelmeyer. Jewell Agnes Luck Jewell Agnes Luck of Steelville, Missouri was born October 13, 1915 in Long Lane, Missouri to Freeman and Elizabeth Ware and passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the age of 103 years and 7 days. In 1937 Jewell married Clyde W. Luck. Jewell worked for several years in St. Louis as a machinist until her retirement. She always worked hard no matter if at work or at home. Jewell made many quilts by hand showing her artistic touch in whatever she did. She enjoyed her flowers and years of gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents, Freeman and Elizabeth Ware; her husband, Clyde W. Luck; four brothers, Fred Ware and wife Alice,Zelmer Ware, Harley Ware and wife Alice and Leslie Ware and wife Sandy; and one sister, Elma Palmer and husband Standish. Ada Marie Walls Ada Marie Walls (nee Halbert) was born Wednesday, November 24, 1937 in St. Louis, Missouri to Horace and Leona Adams Halbert and passed away Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at the age of 80 years and 11 months. Ada married James "Jim" Walls in 1956 at Wesco, Missouri. Ada was a faithful member of the Viburnum First Baptist Church for over 50 years. She always enjoyed crocheting, embroidering and making quilts. In earlier years, Ada always loved being outdoors in her vegetable garden and later when she gave that up she could be found taking care of her flower garden. She and her husband, Jim, spent many hours making woodcrafts of yard ornaments in their spare time and attending craft shows in the area. She was preceded in death by her parents, Horace and Leona Halbert; her husband, Jim Walls; daughter, Tammy Jones; two brothers, Darrell Halbert and wife Brenda and Horace Halbert Jr.; sister, Lucille Arnold and husband, Earl; brothers-in-law, Leonard Fudge, Charlie Smith, Jerry Walls and Davy Walls; and sisters-in-law, Agnes Cook and Betty Walls. Roberta Maxine White Roberta Maxine White (nee Martin) of Steelville, Missouri was born November 4, 1926 in Westover, Missouri to Robert "Dick" and Frona Mae Trask Martin and passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the age of 91 years, 11 months and 16 days. Roberta married Everett White. Roberta was a rural route mail carrier for over 40 years, driving 96 miles a day, six days a week and finally retiring in 1993. She was a very caring person for all of her route families and all of her family. During her life, she also worked at different restaurants in the area and owned one in Cuba, Missouri for a few years after Everett's death. She was a very busy mom as she worked, raised her children and had to be "dad" also. She took time throughout the years to can pickles, sew for her family and have a garden. She attended the Assembly of God Church in Steelville, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Frona Martin; husband, Everett White; two brothers, James "Jim" Martin and Cecil Martin and wife Flo; and one sister, Anna Mae White.
