Constance “Connie” Sue Butler
Constance “Connie” Sue Butler, of Rolla, Missouri, was born on January 19, 1943,
in Rolla, Missouri to Orville Brown and Marie (Lewis) Brown and passed away
Friday, October 23, 2009, at the age of 66 years.
Connie married Rod Butler on May 23, 1986, in Waynesville, Missouri.
She was employed at Walmart for 11 years and then continued her career at UMR
for another 11 years until her retirement.
She is survived by her husband, Rod Butler of the home in Rolla, Missouri; two
sisters, Janet Work and husband Bruce of Cuba, Missouri and Norma “Nickie”
McDonald and husband Joe of Woodstock, Georgia; stepson, Rodney Wayne Butler
and wife Stephanie of Columbia, Missouri; two step grandchildren, Katie and
Erich Butler of Columbia, Missouri; mother-in-law, Sylvia Butler of Rolla,
Missouri; brother-in- law, Russell Butler of Kent, Washington; other
relatives and friends.
A celebration of life memorial service was conducted on Saturday,
October 31, 2009, at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri, at
1 p.m.
Interment in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla,
Missouri.
Paul R. Giesler
Paul Raymond Giesler of Cuba, Missouri was born Sunday, December 17, 1922 at
Vichy, Missouri to John Oliver Giesler and Clara (nee Carroll) Giesler and
passed away Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Cuba, Missouri at the age of 86
years, 10 months and 12 days.
Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was
a retiree of Echo Supply after 45+ years of dedicated service. A short time
later he became a Contract Plumber.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Irene Giesler; parents, John and Clara
Giesler; son, Steven W. Vaughn; two brothers, Kenneth and Dewey Giesler;
other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Heather and husband James Lakaner of Cuba,
Missouri; step daughter, Betty Davidson of Springfield, Missouri; grand-
children, Damien, Casey, Khanan, Elaine and Rachael; other relatives and
friends.
Memorial service was held 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2009 at the
Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Inurnment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson
Barracks, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
Alma Lacy
Alma Lacy of St. James, Missouri, was born in Cuba, Missouri on March 4, 1921
to the late Luther and Maude Ina (Stewart) Nevins and passed away
October 29, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in St. James at the age of 88
years.
Alma was united in marriage to Kasten Judson Lacy on October 1, 1941 and to
this union two sons were born.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of St. James and the Ladies Alone
Club. Alma enjoyed quilting, cooking, and working in the flower gardens that
she loved. She was passionate about her grandchildren and family and spending
time with them was what she looked most forward to.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Maude Nevins; husband,
Kasten Lacy; brother, Paul Nevins; sister, Edna (Nevins) Schroeder.
She is survived by her sons, Charles William Lacy of Rolla, Missouri and
Robert Paul Lacy and wife Patti of O’Fallon, Missouri; grandchildren, Amanda,
Emily and Rachel; four great grandchildren, five nieces and nephews.
Visitation was Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 3-5 p.m.
Funeral services were held Monday, November 2, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Reverend Jerry Baumann
officiating.
Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.

Barbara Jean Olive
Barbara Jean Olive was born January 19, 1932 in Paragould, Arkansas to Guy
Eugene and Cessina (Laird) Rice and passed away Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at
her home in St. James, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
Barbara Jean Olive was united in marriage to Horace (Pop) Copeland and to
this union nine children were born. After Pop and Barbara divorced she married
Don Earl Olive. Barbara remained good friends with Pop and his wife Irene
until her death.
Barbara enjoyed knitting, sewing and crocheting. She loved working in the
yard and gardening, always sharing the bounty of her large garden with family
and friends. She was very close to her family spending time with her children
and grandchildren were treasured moments in her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Cessina Rice; son, Michael
Harvey Copeland; three brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Don E. Olive of the home; children, Diane
Bishop and friend Ralph McFadden of Fulton, Illinois, Jr. Copeland and wife
Donna of Troy, Missouri, Donna Usery and husband Don of St. James, Missouri,
Bob Copeland and wife Joann of Elsberry, Missouri, Darlene Donnelly and
husband Rob of St. James, Missouri, Ed Copeland and wife Patty of St. Charles,
Missouri, Kevin Copeland of St. James, Missouri, Tammy Boyd and husband Chris
of St. James, Missouri; sister, Agnes Briscoe and husband Bill of Cedar Hill,
Missouri; good friends, Horace (Pop) Copeland and wife Irene, of St. James,
Missouri; special friend, Evelyn Zerban; 25 grandchildren, 28 great
grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 6-9 p.m. at the James &
Gahr Mortuary.
Funeral service was Friday, October 30, 2009 in the St. James Chapel of the
James & Gahr Mortuary with Allen Calkins officiating.
Interment in the Highgate Baptist Cemetery.

Jetty O’Neal
Jetty O’Neal of Bourbon, Missouri, was born on September 23, 1929 at
Ellington, Missouri to William and Olive (Turner) Hasty and passed away
Thursday, October 22, 2009 at the age of 80 years.
On August 30, 1947 she was united in marriage to Stanley O’Neal and in 1961
came to the Sullivan area to make their home. She was a member of the First
Assembly of God in Leasburg, Missouri and was a faithful servant to her Lord.
She had taught Sunday school for several years. She cared for people and
would often give the produce from her garden to the residents at the Senior
Citizens home. She was a member and Nobel Grand of the Sullivan Rebekah Lodge,
Chapter 105, was an accomplished singer and enjoyed puzzles of all kinds.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Olive Hasty; a daughter,
Patricia O’Neal; one grandchild, Jennifer; two brothers, Jordan and David
Hasty; two sisters, Edith Hurt and Maggie Dawson and infant sisters, Eulah
and Beulah Hasty
She is survived by her husband, Stanley O’Neal of the family home; two sons,
Larry O’Neal and wife Teresa of Centertown, Missouri and Jesse Martin of
Pearl River, Louisiana; two daughters, Peggy Voisey of Cuba, Missouri and
Sandra Fisher and husband Rick of Cuba, Missouri; two brothers, Utah Beers of
Leasburg, Missouri and Dale Beers of Miller, Missouri; one sister, Willie
Marie Williams of Park Hills, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 11 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held after 9:30 a.m., Monday, October 26, 2009 at the
Southside Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. Rebekah
Lodge memorial services were conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at the funeral
home under the auspices of Sullivan Chapter #319.
Funeral services were at noon on Monday, October 26, 2009 from the Southside
Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Don Vaughn
officiating.
Interment was in Bourbon Cemetery, Bourbon, Missouri.

Missouri.
Mildred A. Risenhoover
Mildred A. Risenhoover of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday,
July 17, 1912 in Naylor, Missouri to Harvey Simmons and Maud Haggard Simmons
and passed away on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at Missouri Baptist Hospital,
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 12 days.
Mildred married Fred L. Risenhoover on February 8, 1931 in Naylor, Missouri
and to this union five children were born.
She was a member of the Lonedell Baptist Church, Lonedell, Missouri and the
Rebecca Lodge in Montrose, Colorado. She worked for several years as a
supervisor for the Servomation Industry where food was cooked and packaged
for the airlines. Her hobbies were baking, cooking, sewing and making quilts.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Maud Simmons; husband,
Fred; sons, Kenneth Lee Risenhoover and Harold Lee Risenhoover and
12 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Sam (Norman) Warmbrodt of Cuba, Missouri,
Donald (Jean) Risenhoover of Eldon, Missouri and Jerry (Linda) Risenhoover
of Versailles, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Donna Risenhoover of St. Louis,
Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one great great
grandchild; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, November 1, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. and the funeral
service was Monday, November 2, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home
in Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Glen Hammond officiating.
Burial was at Eternal Peace Cemetery, Wentzville, Missouri.

Fay Ann Ross
Fay Ann Ross was born on August 23, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri to Jim and
Edith (Phillips) Carrigan and passed away at her home in rural St. James,
Missouri on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at the age of 66 years, 2 months
and 8 days of age.
She was a member of the Broadway Baptist Church in rural St. James,
Missouri. She was a homemaker.
She was survived by her parents, Jim and Edith (Phillips) Carrigan and one
brother, Morris Carrigan.
She is survived by her husband of the home, Virgil E. Ross of St. James,
Missouri; three daughters, Brenda Palmer and husband Terry of Steelville,
Missouri, Chris Storm and husband Donnie of Licking, Missouri and Jeannie
Boyce of Phoenix, Arizona; three brothers, Charles Buhlinger of Owensville,
Missouri and John Carrigan and Jim Buhlinger of St. James, Missouri; one
sister, Edith Schneider of St. James, Missouri; 11 grandchildren; eight
great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
She was cremated, no services are planned.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Mildred B. Rueffel
Mildred B. Rueffel of Vichy, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on
January 13, 1914 to Everett and Dicia (Haley) Gorman and passed away Tuesday,
October 27, 2009 in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 95 years.
Mildred was united in marriage to Frederick Rueffel on March 2, 1935 and to
this union one child was born.
Mildred was a member of the First Pentecostal Church in Vichy, where she
taught Sunday School for many years.
She loved doing for her family and did so in many ways, cooking, sewing,
canning and working in the bountiful gardens she raised every year. The food
she canned from the garden was always a loving reminder in the winter months
of the efforts she put forth in the summer. Friends and family also benefited
from the gardens that Mildred raised, sharing her bounty of garden vegetables
throughout the community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Dicia Gorman;
son-in-law, Darrel Blackwell; sisters, Myrtle Sewell and Lorna Peters.
She is survived by her loving husband of 74 years, Frederick Rueffel of the
home; daughter, Janie Blackwell of Vichy, Missouri; grandchildren, Timothy
Curtis Blackwell and wife Amy, Rachel Faith Dew and husband Chris; great
grandchildren, Katie Marie and Curtis Charles Blackwell, Karsten Brenner
and Kayden Quinn Dew.
Visitation was Thursday, October 29, 2009 from 6-8 p.m. in the First
Pentecostal Church in Vichy.
Funeral service was held Friday, October 30, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the First
Pentecostal Church in Vichy, Missouri with Pastor Tim Blackwell officiating.
Interment in the Broadway Baptist Cemetery in rural Maries County.
Arrangements under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary of St. James,
Missouri.
James Richard “Jim” Small
James Richard “Jim” Small, of Rolla, was born in Illinois on
September 4, 1929 to William M. and Merle (Burns) Small and passed away at
his home on Monday, October 26, 2009 at the age of 80 years.
On June 4, 1960, he married Marie D. York.
Jim was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served for 23 years retiring with
the rank of Master Sergeant. He then served as a Rolla Police officer for
several years and later worked for the Powell Lumber Company in Rolla.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Merle Small and two
brothers, William and Jerry Small.
He is survived by his wife, Marie Small, of the home; four children, Jim M.
Small of Rolla, Missouri, Lois Hughes and husband Terry of St. James,
Missouri, Linda Dixon and Charlotte Laramee, both of Florida; one brother,
Joseph Small and wife Pat of Illinois; 15 grandchildren, 11 great
grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Emily Marie Smith
Emily Marie Smith of St. James, Missouri was born on November 11, 1930 in
Rolla, Missouri to Ira Ralph and Fae Emily (Brewster) Havens and passed away
on Tuesday, October 27, 2009 at the Golden Living Center in St. James,
Missouri at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 16 days.
Emily was united in marriage to Joseph L. Smith in Rolla, Missouri on
June 18, 1947.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Ira Ralph and Fae Emily (Brewster)
Havens; husband, Joseph L. Smith; one brother, Paul Havens and one
son-in-law, Daired McClanahan.
She is survived by one son, Joseph P. Smith and wife Alice of Union, Missouri;
six daughters, Mary Lindsey and husband Bill of Rolla, Missouri, Barbara
Wagoner and husband Richard of Rolla, Missouri, Vicki McClanahan of Cedar
Hill, Missouri, Pamela Bosch of Chilhowee, Missouri, Melody Smith of Cuba,
Missouri and Angela Scheel and husband Danny of St. James, Missouri; one
brother, Phillip Havens of Rolla, Missouri; five sisters, Christine Black
of Rolla, Missouri, Irene Hart of Atlanta, Georgia, Blanche Lortz of Rolla,
Missouri, Jane Light of Rolla, Missouri and June Hitt of Slidell, Louisiana;
16 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, October 30, 2009 from 4-6 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Services were conducted on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 6 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri with Christopher Dew, Phil Havens,
Bill Lindsey and Richard Wagoner officiating.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home in
St. James, Missouri.
Gary D. Stogesdill
Gary D. Stogesdill, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, passed away Saturday,
October 31, 2009.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stogesdill (nee Naumann); parents,
Hayden and Verna Stogesdill; brother, Larry Stogesdill; father-in-law,
George Naumann; sister-in-law, Janet Egler; nephew and nieces, Daniel,
Jessica and Allison Egler; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2009 at the
Hutchens Mortuary in Florissant, Missouri.
Funeral service at Hutchens Mortuary at 11 a.m. on Wednesday,
November 4, 2009.
Interment in the Bethlehem Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Hutchens Mortuary in
Florissant, Missouri.
