MO Local Obituaries for the Week of November 6, 2014 Roderick Howard "Rod" Baldwin Roderick Howard ÒRodÓ Baldwin of Cuba, Missouri was born July 10, 1964 at Normandy, Missouri to Rawleigh H. and Lillian Pauline (nee Breece) Baldwin and passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at the age of 50 years. Rod was disabled after being in an auto accident when he was 19 years of age. He played baseball as a child, collected baseball cards and was a St. Louis Cardinals fan. Rod loved going out to his parentÕs farm and walking through the woods. Rod played the guitar the years, collected antique radios and enjoyed going to the antique stores. He spent hours spoiling his dog Lulu and he was an animal lover. He was a graduate of the Cuba High School. He is preceded in death by his father, Rawleigh Baldwin and many other relatives. Alpha "Fay" Turner Chandler Alpha ÒFayÓ Turner Chandler nee Cassidy was born on Friday, April 7, 1939 in the Pyatt Holler area of Cherryville, Missouri to Lloyd William Cassidy and Mary Lou ÒIzaÓ Talent Cassidy and passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the age of 75 years, 6 months, and 21 days. Fay married Jessie Louie William Turner on July 4, 1953 in Steelville, Missouri, and to this union a son was born and a step-daughter gained. Fay moved from St. Louis to Cherryville area in 1971. On May 4, 1986, she married Don Radis Chandler in Steelville and to this union two stepdaughters were gained. Fay accepted the Lord at a young age and attended Cherryville Assembly of God Church. She worked for Brown Shoe Factory in Steelville for 25 years and has volunteered at Golden Echoes Resale Store since 2007. She enjoyed working with her flowers and spending time with her grandchildren. Conrad of Crestwood, Missouri was born to Stephen R. and Kathryn L. (Brandenburger) Conrad on January 12, 1978 in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 36 years. Jason was a graduate of the University of Missouri St. Louis with a B.S. in Microbiology and Political Science. He was a butcher for Whole Foods in St. Louis. He had a passion for motorcycles, being outdoors, enjoying nature and was an avid St. Louis Blues fan. Jason is preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Lucy Conrad; one dog, Liko. He is survived by his parents, Steve and Kathy (Brandenburger) Conrad of Belle, Missouri; one sister, Wendy and husband Phil Johnson of Austin, Texas; grandparents, William and Pearl Brandenburger of Cuba, Missouri; four nephews, Garek, Anders, Conrad and Everett Johnson of Austin, Texas; one faithful companion - his dog, Walter; several aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Arthur Howard "Art" Arthur Howard ÒArtÓ Kamm of Cuba, Missouri was born September 19, 1924 at St. Louis, Missouri to Howard Arthur and Doris (nee Germer) Kamm and passed away on Sunday, October 26, 2014 at his home on Indian Hills Lake at the age of 90 years. Art proudly served in the United States Navy from February 26, 1943 until February 25, 1949. He earned the World War II Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Asiatic Pacific (1 Star), European Theatre (2 Stars), Americantheatre and the Philippine Liberation. Art completed from the Naval Training School (Diesel) University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri the Class ÒAÓ Diesel Instruction on the 21st day of August, 1943. Art married Billie R. Burke on October 29, 1949 and to this union two daughters were born: Debra and Vickie. After 29 years of dedicated service Art retired in 1978 as a general foreman from General Motors plant in St. Louis. Art enjoyed playing pinochle and golf. He spent hours bird watching, playing card games and teaching his grandchildren to play chess. Art was ÒThe Best Dad in the WorldÓ and his daughters didnÕt want for anything. He spent hours driving the boat while they water skied, playing ping pong and shooting pool with them. Every winter for years after retirement Art and Billie would go to Florida for three months. He is preceded in death by his wife, Billie Kamm; one brother, Howard Kamm; sisters, Patsy Sasaro and Dorothy Kamm and other relatives and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Debra ÒDebbieÓ and husband Bud Brummet of Cuba, Missouri and Vickie and husband Gary Beach of St. Peters, Missouri; three grandchildren, Michael and wife Stacey Brummet, Michele and husband Kirk Davis all of Cuba, Missouri and Jesse Beach of St. Peters, Missouri; four great grandchildren, Garrett and Taylor Davis, Jordan and Maddison Brummet; sister-in-law, Dawn Kamm of Greenville, Illinois; nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. Mamie "Irene" McKinley Mamie ÒIreneÓ McKinley was born Friday, August 25, 1933 in Cherryville, Missouri to Marcena Elizabeth (Martin) Morrison and Raymond Ellis Morrison and passed away on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 81 years, 2 months and 2 days. As a young lady, Irene moved to St. Louis. While in St. Louis, Irene had a variety of jobs from food service to care giver and to machine assembler. She was an active member of Carondelet Baptist Church for many years and served as a crusader in the Billy Graham ministry in St. Louis where she helped others in finding the Lord. She had made a profession of faith at a young age while she and her family attended Cherryville Baptist Church in Cherryville. Irene retired from R & W Re-builders and returned to the Steelville area to be near her mother. She enjoyed attending First Baptist Church where she became a member. She transitioned from her home to Gibbs Manor. Although Irene attended Southern Baptist services throughout her life, she enjoyed attending services of other denominations. She especially enjoyed listening to Rev. Jerry Beers, when he would deliver his weekly sermon at Gibbs Care Center. Irene treasured her Sunday visits with her son Danny. She made sure to let everyone know he was coming to visit and bringing her White Castle hamburgers. Tuesday nights were equally special times in IreneÕs life, because her granddaughter, Shannon, would come to visit her. She appreciated the impromptu visits with her lifelong friend, Ruby and her brother Carl stopping by for a chat. She also loved visits from her brother Claude and family. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Rayiene Morrison, Lennie Morrison (Alma), Lloyd Morrison (Lemoin); and two sisters, Naomi Richardson (Claude) and Maryanna Thompson (Cliff). She is survived by her children, Janice Tallent (Eric Wohaska) of Gray Summit, Missouri, Ron McKinley (Bonnie) of Jefferson City, Missouri and Danny McKinley (Connie) of St. Louis, Missouri; grandchildren, Crystal, Justin, Shannon, Ronnie, Danny, Jodi and Alex; great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins; brother, Claude Morrison (Sandra) of Cuba, Missouri; and sister, Norma Duke of Arnold, Missouri. Alma Marie Steen Alma Marie Steen was born July 25, 1923 in Houston, Missouri to Louis R. and Mary (Kirkeby) Nielsen and passed away October 25, 2014 in Salem, Missouri at the age of 91 years. On July 19, 1946, Alma R. Nielsen was united in marriage to William A. Steen. She enjoyed reading, knitting, jigsaw puzzles, going to the theatre and playing with cats but mostly she enjoyed spending time with her family. Alma was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Jefferson City, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William; step daughter, Joyce Ann Steen; brothers, Leland R. Nielsen and Arthur Nielsen; and great granddaughter, Karrah Steen. She is survived by her children, Eva Lee Studley of Jefferson City, Missouri, Gilbert Dale Steen of St. James, Missouri, Karen H appel and husband Gary of Salem, Missouri; brother, Louis Nielsen Jr. of Salem, Missouri; sisters, Elaine Krogstad of Illinois and Velmy Overby of Rolla, Missouri; grandchildren, Tom Trabue and wife Kim, Tim Trabue and wife Eva, Tamara Bosley and husband Robert, William A.
