William V. Brinkerhoff William V. Brinkerhoff of Bourbon, Missouri was born on November 27, 1960 in Roosevelt, Utah to Lee V. and Marjorie K. (Larsen) Brinkerhoff and passed away on Saturday morning, October 27, 2018 at the age of 57 years. He grew up and attended school in Roosevelt, Utah. As a teenager, he went to work as a roughneck in the oilfield. Bill also known as "Pacman" to many spent much of his life working in the oil industry traveling extensively both nationally globally. Bill had an adventuresome spirit, was easy-going and absolutely loved life to the fullest. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycles, and spending time in the mountains. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Marjorie Brinkerhoff. Russell Blaine Bullock Russell Blaine Bullock of St. James, Missouri was born February 25, 1947 in Waynesville, Missouri to John Russell and Beatrice Marie Carrigan Bullock and passed away Tuesday, October 30, 2018 at the age of 71 years. After 16 years as a couple, he married Tina Ann Karnes on August 22, 1999 at the Current River. He loved fishing and floating on the local rivers and he spent every summer on the rivers. Gardening, collecting coins and restoring phonographs were beloved hobbies of his. He was an avid trivia buff. Wherever Russell was, there was always music, family, friends and laughter. He graduated from John F. Hodge High School. He worked for the railroad in St. Louis, Missouri and Holsum Bakery for 17 years. After leaving Holsum Bakery, Russ worked for his father at Johnnie's Bar for 16 years until he and his wife, Tina, took over the reigns and operated the St. James landmark for 18 more years. He married Nita DeGregorio on April 23, 1969. Walter loved living in the St. James, Missouir area. It was a wonderful place to raise children, go to church, fish and raise a garden. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and he drove the bus to pick up children for Awana, and vacation Bible school. He really loved to fish and would head out to Maramec Spring every chance he could, he used to always go early to be there when the whistle blew, but later he had decided that a really good fisherman didn't have to be there that early, so he would go later on in the day and still catch his limit. Walter and Nita always had a nice garden when they had the garden space, they were always happy to share the bounty of that harvest with family, friends and neighbors. He drove a propane truck for Ferrell Gas for over 20 years. He was a good Christian man and held firm to his values and beliefs that if someone needs something, and you can help, that is the proper thing to do. It is those same values and beliefs that he instilled in his children. Justin attended Steelville R-3 Schools where he started playing sports at a young age. Justin excelled as an athlete and won numerous awards over the years for baseball, basketball, cross country, track and golf. He attended the St. James Assembly of God Church and was recently baptized. Justin loved the outdoors, whether he was fishing, hunting, walking in the woods, mushroom hunting or riding dirt bikes. He started working right out of high school and that motivation and work ethic drove him to start his own business, Gunn's Roofing. Justin was a member of the Missouri National Guard. Hongisto of Sullivan, Missouri was born on November 11, 1932 in Wakefield, Michigan to Nikolai Hongisto and Alma M. (Ronn) and passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at the age of 85 years. He grew up and attended school in Wakefield, Michigan, graduating from Wakefield High School in 1950. After high school, Norman worked for a short time before entering in the U.S. Air Force. He honorably served for four years, until his honorable discharge. He married Marian Jiongo in September of 1952. The Hongisto family moved to Sullivan, Missouri where Norman worked for the Meramec Mining Company. In 1976 he went to work for MSHA (Mine Safety & Health Administration) as an inspector. After residing in several other states, he retired in 1995, the same year his wife, Marian, passed away. He relocated back to Sullivan in 2016 to make his final home. Norman enjoyed camping and carpentry and was especially fond of singing in the Finnish Choir back in Michigan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Marian; three brothers, Arnold, Richard and Robert; four sisters, Lillian Kerschner, Eileen Koski, Pearl Linn and Peggy Liuha; and one grandson, Jeffrey Gawer. After his retirement he was very active in the Masonic Lodge, Odd Fellows, York Rite, Scottish Rite and Shriner's organization. He was involved in sports and loved the outdoors as a young man. In high school he had a band called "Dale Young and the Midwesterners." Dale served as a Police Officer for the City of Steelville with his brother Roy in the 1970s before beginning a career with Chrysler in Fenton, Missouri. He married Mary "Gean" (Woods) Hickman on February 26, 1983. His career took he and his family to Colorado for a short time from 1992-1995 before returning home to his hometown. He was a member of the Fox Trotter Association of Ava, Missouri, UAW Local #136 and the NRA. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Steelville, Missouri. He liked swords and guns and collected knives. He enjoyed martial arts, singing and playing the guitar. Dale retired from Chrysler in 2003. He loved raising and tending his Missouri Fox trotters, watching old westerns and doted heavily on his granddaughters Grace, Alyson and Lainie. On any given day he could be found making his appointed rounds in town, catching up, telling stories, laughing and reminiscing with longtime friends and family. Hewas preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Earline Young; brothers, Roy Young and Gerald Young; parents-in-law, Myrt and Elsie Woods; brother-in-law, Willie (Audrey) Woods; sister-in-law, Beverly Woods; niece, Penny Sanders; and son-in-law, Andrew Destifanes. He is survived by his wife, Mary "Gean" Young of Steelville, Missouri; son, Dale Allen Young II; daughter, Jamie (Jeremy) Schneider of Hillsboro, Missouri; step-children, Sandra Fink and Beth Destifanes, both of Steelville, Missouri and Michael (Robin) Hickman of De Soto, Missouri; grandchildren, Kal and Tyler Hickman; Nicole and Brian Bailey, Grace, Alyson and Lainie Schneider; great grandchildren, Jace, Noah, Peyton and Sawyer; brothers, Gaylord (Eloise) Young of Washington, Missouri and Clay (Virginia) Young of Steelville, Missouri; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Richard "Dick" Woods of St. Louis, Missouri, Terry (Linda) Woods of Pacific, Missouri, Violet "Sis" (Estel) Sanders and Joyce Olney both of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Thursday, October 25, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Funeral was Friday, October 26, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating. Burial was at the Steelville Cemetery.
