Reimers of Seattle, Washington, was born on Tuesday, March 10, 1959 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter and Lorraine (Deschaine) Reimers and passed away October 31, 2008 at the age of 49 years old. She was employed at 20th Century Fox and MGM Studios. She is survived by parents of Leasburg, Missouri; brothers, Gary Reimers of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, Brian Reimers of Wright City, Missouri and David Reimers of O’Fallon, Missouri; sister, Karen (John) Voxx of Wildwood, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Kristen Voss, David (Brandy) Reimers Jr., Jacob Reimers, Ashley Reimers and Brett Reimers; great nephew, Bryce Reimers; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Sunday, November 9, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at the Basler Funeral Home, Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Service was at the Church of Ste. Genevieve on Monday 10, 2008 at 10 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Oge officiating. Burial was in the Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Arrangements were under the direction of the Basler Funeral Home, Inc., Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Raymond F. Schmitt Raymond F. Schmitt of Japan, Missouri was born on May 21, 1922 near Cuba, Missouri to William J. and Elizabeth C. (Schelich) Schmitt and passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2008 at the age of 86 years. He had lived the majority of his life in the Japan, Missouri area near Sullivan and had honorably served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army. He served in France and Germany from December 9, 1942 to March 6, 1946. He received several commendations and ribbons for service to his country which included a Victory Ribbon, American Theatre ribbon, European African Middle Eastern Theatre Ribbon, two Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and two Overseas Bars. On February 7, 1948 he was united in marriage to Rosemary F. Piezuch at Japan, Missouri and to this union three children were born. Raymond was employed many years as a cutter at Paramount Headwear Company as well as worked the family farm, raising cattle for over 40 years. He enjoyed gardening and hunting. He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Earl, Virgil, Ralph and Alvie Schmitt and two sisters, Elsie Schmitt and Anna Blankenship. He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, Ronald Schmitt; two daughters, Linda Branstetter and Diane Unger and husband Dan; five grandchildren, Cody and wife Crystal, Dustin and wife Sarah, Ryan and fiancée Megan, Abbie and Jeff; seven great grandchildren, Cynthya, Brandon, Garrett, Destiny, Jordan, Brantlee and Addison; brother, Clarence Schmitt; three sisters, Virginia Cibulka, Irene Walton and Clara Rothmeyer; other relatives and friends. A mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, November 8, 2008 from Holy Martyrs of Japan Catholic Church with Rev. Father James Finder officiating. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home, Sullivan, Missouri.
