MO Local Obituaries for the Week of November 12, 2014 Billie "Cleo" Amarine Billie "Cleo" Amarine of Poplar Bluff, Missouri was born October 26, 1935 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Bud Amarine and Effie Mahaley Pyatt Amarine and passed away Friday, October 31, 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 79 years. He was united in marriage in 1957 to Sondra Pugsley and to this union two children were born. He later married Melba Miller in 2005. Cleo was a truck driver for 20 years and retired in 1989. For several years he attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church at Cherryville, Missouri. Cleo loved to buy cars and then trade them and also loved to collect miniature cars. He enjoyed the outdoors and riding his four-wheeler and hunting. Most of all he enjoyed and loved his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Paul Tidwell, Leroy Tidwell and Joey Tidwell; and one sister, Juaneze Ufkin. He is survived by his wife, Melba Amarine of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; one son, Billie "Michael" Amarine and wife Divine of Farmington,Missouri; one daughter, Sherri Hensley and husband Ted of Hillsboro, Missouri; five grandchildren, Josh, Brandi, Jordan, Bailey and Dakota; three brothers, Fred Tidwell of O'Fallon, Missouri, Elmer Tidwell of California and Terry Tidwell of the Philippines; two sisters, Wanda Trent of O'Fallon, Missouri and Joan Bosma of Boonville, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Barb Tidwell of Cherryville, Missouri, Betty Tidwell of Arnold, Missouri and Ellie Tidwell of Illinois; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Harrison Brown and Pastor Kevin Kappler officiating. Special music of "Since He Gave My life a New Start" was sung and played by Bob and Carol Coleman and "Let Me Feel your Spirit Once Again" was sung and played by Eldon and Claudette Barton. Other music of "What a Day That Will Be" and "In my Life"/Never Meet Again" was also played. The obituary and memories were shared by Jay Kuntz. Other memories were shared by Josh Harris and Mike Amarine with a poem shared by Divine Amarine. Committal prayer and interment were in the Martin-Trask Cemetery at Cherryville, Missouri. Ella Jo Greenwalt Ella Jo Greenwalt of Cuba, Missouri was born November 26, 1952 in Potosi, Missouri to Eugene Keith Vance and Anna Mae Gilliam Vance and passed away Thursday, November 6, 2014 in St. Louis, Missouri. On September 1, 1971, she was united in marriage to David Greenwalt and to this union two children were born. Ella Jo was a member of the Steelville Assembly of God Church. She taught Sunday school for many years and taught the group of Missionettes. She loved gospel music and was the pianist for the group "Chosen Generation." She enjoyed traveling and singing with the group and had just recently sang in Oklahoma. For over 27 years she had worked for Head Start in Cuba and was the site director. Ella Jo enjoyed shopping, loved her church, her family and grandbabies. She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Keith Vance and father-in-law, Harold Greenwalt. Rachael attended the Steelville Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed fishing, reading and was a talented artist who loved to draw. She loved being with her friends and family. She was united in marriage to Clyde B. Mathis on January 9, 1937 and shared 69 years of marriage together. Irene was a homemaker and a longtime parishioner of Holy Cross Catholic Church. She enjoyed going to auctions and gardening. She is preceded in death by her parents, Anton and Catherine (Stachowski) Humski; husband, Clyde B. Mathis; She is survived by her niece, Pat and husband Herbert Palmer of Topeka, Kansas; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends. Gladys Armildia Payne Gladys Armildia Payne was born June 21, 1921 in Kansas City, Missouri to Arthur William Smith and Elzira Elizabeth Lanham Smith and passed away Monday, November 3, 2014 at her home in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 93 years. On August 29, 1941 in Salem, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Roba L. Payne who preceded her in death in 1981. Gladys worked for Phelps County Regional Medical Center and Senior Companions and then retiring from the Missouri Veterans Home in 1985. She was a member of the Vichy Community Church. She spent many hours sewing and gardening. She loved her flowers, her many pictures and collecting salt and pepper shakers along with frogs. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roba L.
