Allen Forest Beel
Allen Forest Beel of Owensville, Missouri, was born on
Thursday, April 4, 1940 in St. Louis, Missouri to Harold Beel and
Nellie Allen Beel. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, November
8, 2006 at the age of 66 years, 7 months and 4 days.
Allen served his country honorably in the United States
Marine Corp. He later worked in appliance repair until his
retirement. He was fascinated in flying his airplane, hobby farming,
spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren who were
his pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Beel.
He is survived by his companion, Blanch Lane of
Owensville, Missouri; children, Christine Hall of Cedar Hill,
Missouri, Terry Jahnsen and husband Kurt of Owensville, Missouri,
David Beel and wife Krista of Steelville, Missouri, Daniel Beel and
wife Tracy of DeSoto, Missouri and Earl Beel of the home.
Step sons, Raney Lane and wife Beth of Ft. Mitchell,
Alabama and Marcos Lane and wife Violet of LeMars, Iowa; mother,
Nellie Beel of DeSoto, Missouri; brothers, Cedar Beel and wife Jean
of Defiance, Missouri, William Beel and wife Vivian of Arnold,
Missouri; sister, Linda Hunter and husband Dale of DeSoto, Missouri;
mother-in-law, Lockie Love of Rolla, Missouri; brother-in-law, Roy
Love of Vichy, Missouri; 15 grandchildren, one great grandchild;
nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Visitation was Friday, November 10, 2006 from 6-9 p.m.
at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was at the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at 10:30 a.m. with Dr.
Woodrow Martin officiating.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home.
Anna Jane Beers
Anna Jane Beers, 102 years, 4 months and 6 days, passed
away Friday, November 10, 2006 at the New Haven Care Center in New
Haven. She was born Monday, July 4, 1904 in Ishmael (Washington
County) Missouri, the daughter of Samuel and Lula (Martin)
Breakfield.
She was united in marriage to Raymond Gillam, then later
to Arthur Midgett who died in 1948. She then married Webb Everett
Beers in 1949 and he preceded her in death in 1991.
Anna enjoyed her home and being near her children and
many grandchildren. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved
her.
She was preceded in death by five sons, Raymond Gillam,
Kenneth Midgett, Samuel Midgett, Lonie Midgett, Nara Midgett; one
son-in-law, Ernest Breakfield; one infant brother, Ralph and six
sisters and brothers-in-law, Ollie Laramore and husband Ray, Lonnie
Gillam and husband Floyd, Ida Gillam and husband Rue, Mabel Setzer
and husband, Eva Smith and husband Willard and Zelma Mills and
husband Jim.
Those left to mourn her passing are two sons, William O.
Midgett and wife Anna June of DeSoto, Missouri and Ellis E. Midgett
and wife Lillian of DeSoto, Missouri; one daughter, Hazel (Midgett)
Breakfield of Berger, Missouri and two sisters, Sylvia Halbrook and
husband James of Fredericktown, Missouri and Cleo Halbrook of
DeSoto, Missouri; 14 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; 26 great
great grandchildren and one great great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held Sunday, November 12, 2006 in
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Coleman officiating.
Special music of "Amazing Grace," "Lily of the Valley,"
and "Precious Memories" were sung by Bob and Carol Coleman.
Serving as casket bearers were J.B. Grimes, Dennis
Midgett, Denise Luther, Douglas Midgett, Richard Midgett, David
Midgett and Robert Wayne Midgett with committal prayers and burial
in the Shoal Creek Cemetery.
The family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral
Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Harry Carey
Harry Carey of Owensville, Missouri, passed away
Tuesday, October 24, 2006 at the age of 88.
Harry was born January 28, 1919 to the late James and
Bertha Moss Carey at Spring Bluff. On March 22, 1939 he was united
in marriage to Alma Mae Flannigan in Union, Missouri. He and Alma
made their home in Sullivan until 1991 when they moved to
Owensville, Missouri. He was a member of the Saint Anthony Catholic
church in Sullivan, Missouri.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by one
son, Harry Eugene Carey; two brothers, Leo and Paul Carey and a
sister, Mary Ann Carey.
He is survived by his wife, Alma Carey of Owensville,
Missouri; two sons, Phillip Carey and friend, Carol, of Cuba,
Missouri and Gregory Carey of Owensville; a daughter, Bertha Hinson
and husband, Jerry, of Owensville; daughter-in-law, Margie Carey of
Cuba, Missouri; 10 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and a great
great grandson.
Funeral services were held Friday, October 27, 2006 from
the chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan with Father Patrick
Day officiating.
Interment was in the Cave Spring Cemetery.
Lindell "Spinny" Cottrell
Lindell "Spinny" Cottrell, passed away Wednesday,
November 8, 2006 at Harry S Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia,
Missouri at the age of 87 years, 6 months and 25 days. He was born
on Sunday, April 13, 1919 in Dillard, Missouri, the son of Charles
and Mintie Beckham Cottrell.
Spinny had served in the U.S. Army during World War II
from November 18, 1943 to December 1, 1945. He was wounded at the
Battle of Bulge and had received two bronze stars. He spent his
lifetime farming and other odd jobs in the Dillard community. He
loved music, especially playing his violin with others. For the last
seven years Spinny made his home at the Missouri Veteran's Home in
St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Leland
Cottrell; two sisters, Mildred Cottrell and Maude Sellers; and one
nephew, Kenneth Cottrell.
Spinny is survived by one niece, Helen Ruth Raulston and
husband Larry of St. Louis, Missouri; two nephews, Jerry Cottrell
and wife Doris of Dillard, Missouri and Delbert Cottrell and wife
Dorothy of Indiana; many cousins and other family friends.
Military funeral rites were held Friday evening by the
Davisville American Legion Post 601. Funeral services for Spinny
Cottrell were held Saturday, November 11, 2006 in the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Elmer Turnbough officiating.
Special music by the Country Rebels, Kathy Summers on
violin and Stanley O'Neal on guitar played "Amazing Grace," "He
Washed My Eyes with Tears," and "When They Ring Those Golden Bells
For Me."
Serving as casket bearers were Jerry, Jim and Bob
Cottrell, Dan Halbert, Tony Abney and Lloyd Setzer with committal
prayers and burial in the Maple Grove Cemetery. Full military honors
were given at the cemetery by the U.S. Army.

Kenneth Ray Eplin
Kenneth Ray Eplin of Cook Station, Missouri passed away
Friday, November 3, 2006 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis,
Missouri. He was born Saturday, February 25, 1956 in West Virginia,
the son of Donald and Opal Whitman Eplin.
He married Helen Coplin on August 29, 1992 in St. Louis,
Missouri.
Kenneth had worked as a truck driver. He enjoyed his
large family of step children, nieces and nephews and many family
friends.
He was preceded in death by one step daughter, Christina
Elliott; one brother, Lanny Eplin; and four sisters, Evelyn,
Lillian, Helen and Edith.
Those left to mourn his passing are his wife, Helen, of
the home in Cook Station, Missouri; one step son, Robert Elliott and
wife Bobbie of Alton, Missouri; two step daughters, Ginger Gazaway
and husband George of Alton, Missouri and Robin Elliott of High
Ridge, Missouri; two brothers, Gene Eplin of Imperial, Missouri and
Danny Elpin of Cook Station, Missouri; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Kenneth Eplin were Monday, November
6, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Wendy McKinney
officiating. Special music of "It's so Hard to Say Goodbye to
Yesterday" and "I Can Only Imagine" were played.
Serving as casket bearers were Lu Canas, Leonard Eplin,
Donald Eplin, Jr., Danny Bedwell, Robert Elliott and Dave Norman
with burial and committal prayers in the Skaggs Cemetery.

Jewel Burton Hendrix
Jewel Burton Hendrix of Farmington, Missouri was born
on Sunday, May 13, 1923 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Herbert Hendrix and
Francis Moutray Hendrix and passed away Thursday, November 9, 2006
at the age of 83 years, 5 months and 27 days.
Jewel served his country honorably in the United States
Navy and later was a former member of the American Legion in Iowa
and St. Louis, Missouri.
He married Gladine Turner in St. Louis Missouri on July
27, 1951. Jewel was president and co-owner of Mound Tool Co. in
Crestwood, Missouri for several years. His hobbies were hunting,
fishing, golfing and traveling.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers,
Arthur Hendrix and wife Lida and Stanley Hendrix; one sister,
Roberta White and husband Ray; brothers-in-law, Gene Lovan, Noel
Light, Ruben Cash, Leroy Huffstutler, John Turner, Carolyn Kinder
and husband William and Paul Turner.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife,
Gladine of the home; sister, Artie Lovan of Ellisville, Missouri;
brother-in-law, Joe (Wyanette) Turner of St. Louis County;
sisters-in-law, Ruth Hendrix of Steelville, Missouri, Maxine Light

Burial was in the Moutray Cemetery, Steelville,

Bobbie Keeney
Bobbie Glen Keeney, 76, of Owensville, Missouri, passed
away Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at his home.
Bobbie was born in Summerfled, Missouri on July 22, 1930
to Boyd and Ruby Strain Keeney. On February 7, 1959, he married Mary
Glandon at Pilot Knob Baptist Church. He worked at the Chrysler in
Fenton, Missouri.
Preceding him in death were his father, Boyd Keeney;
father-in-law, Fred Glandon; daughter, Mary Keeney; sister, Iris
Southard and brother, Narvin Keeney.
His is survived by his wife, Mary Glandon Keeney; mother
Edrie Keeney of Belle, Missouri; mother-in-law, Mary Glandon of
Owensville, Missouri; children, Bobbie Keeney and wife Pam, Tina
Wells and husband Eric, all of Owensville, Missouri; Steve Keeney
and wife Tina of Cuba, Missouri and Linda Keeney of Overland,
Missouri.
Grandchildren, Jacob Keeney and wife Jodi and Heath and
Jodi Keeney, all of Owensville, Missouri; Kelsey, Ethan and Nathan
Keeney of Cuba, Missouri; Kaitlin, Kody and Kaylee Wells of
Owensville, Missouri.

Forrest Dale Nagle
Forrest Dale Nagle was born Thursday, July 25, 1929 in
Jennings, Missouri, the son of William Charles and Anna Fox Nagle
and passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2006 at Missouri Baptist
Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 77 years, 3 months and
10 days.
He had been a teamster truck driver in St. Louis,
Missouri and had retired in 1991.
He was married to Margie Martin who died June 8, 1990.
He married Dorothy Isgriggs who survives of the home in Steelville,
Missouri.
He is also survived by five brothers, Richard Nagle of
St. Peters, Missouri, Dennis Nagle and wife Brenda of Steelville,
Missouri, David Nagle and wife Barb of Steelville, Missouri, Charles
Nagle and wife Mary of O'Fallon, Missouri, William Nagle and wife
Pauline of Florissant, Missouri; two sisters, Anna Marie Canania and
husband Tony of St. Louis, Missouri and Mary Bowman and husband Bob
of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one brother-in-law, Henry Isgriggs and
wife Alice of Steelville, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Nancy
Isgriggs of Cuba, Missouri and Irene Harris of Steelville, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank Nagle,
John Nagle and James Nagle; three sisters, Wilma Decker and husband
Jim, Betty Martin and husband Hack, and Dolores Sanders and husband
Bud; three brothers-in-law, Charles, Clarence and Leroy Isgriggs;
and one sister-in-law, Leona Isgriggs.
Memorial services for Forrest Nagle were held Saturday,
November 11, 2006 in the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev.
Jerry Beers officiating. Special recorded music by Heck Sanders on
the fiddle was played as well as "Whenever You Come Around." Burial
in the Schwieder Cemetery.
The family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral
Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Jefferson Leroy Petty
Jefferson Leroy Petty of Imperial, Missouri was born
Wednesday, November 9, 1927 in Wesco, Missouri to Thomas Jefferson
Petty and Myrtle Anna Greenwalt Petty. He passed away at his home on
Thursday, November 2, 2006 at the age of 78 years, 11 months and 24
days.
Jefferson served his country honorably in the United
State Coast Guard during WWII. He later became a truck driver
retiring from Holmes Freight Lines in St. Louis, Missouri and was a
member of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters #600. He also
was a member of the First Baptist Church of Arnold, Missouri.
His hobbies were bowling, playing pool and computer
games.
Jefferson married Kimberly Ann Walter in Hillsboro,
Missouri on September 29, 2000.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Anna
Michael, Beulah Carter and Myrna Parret; brothers, Bill Petty, Earl
Petty, Richard Petty and an infant twin brother.
Those who remain to mourn his passing are his wife,
Kimberly of the home; children, Gary L. Petty and wife Lisa of Troy,
Illinois and Karen L. Courry and husband Mark of Arnold, Missouri;
grandchildren, Justin Lee Petty, Alicia Marie Petty, Krystle Lea
Courry and Nichole Kathryn Courry; step grandchildren, Michael
Koeninger and Matthew Koeninger; nieces, nephews, cousins and many
friends.
Visitation was held Tuesday, November 7, 2006 from 9-11
a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.

a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Delmar
Hutson officiating. Burial at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery,
St. Louis, Missouri with full military honors.

Clara Bell Shockley
Clara Bell Shockley was born Friday, February 1, 1907 in
Boxeville, Illinois, the daughter of Arthur and Hallie (Betts)
Hagler. She passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2006 at the age of 99
years, 9 months and 6 days.
She was united in marriage to Earl Melvin Shockley on
December 20, 1924 in Granite City, Illinois. Earl passed away on
October 28, 1991.
Clara was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother,
sister and friend. She had attended the Pleasant Hill Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Gene Brand;
five brothers, Albert, Herbert, Clarence, Gene and Harry Hagler; and
three sisters, Lavonne Milken, Naomi Hagler and Mabel Hagler.
Those left to mourn her passing are two sons, Wayne
Melvin Shockley and wife Mary of Granite City, Illinois and Harold
Earl Shockley and wife Jeannie of Lillian, Alabama; two daughters,
Gladys Louise Jamerson and husband Harvey of Granite City, Illinois
and Thelma Pearl Brand of Steelville, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 22
great grandchildren and 29 great great grandchildren; and special
person, Kevin Gibbs, who Clara babysat for and considered him as a
family member.
Funeral services were held Friday, November 10, 2006 in
the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
Special music of "Peace in the Valley," "In the Garden," and
"Precious Lord Take My Hand" were played.
Committal prayers and burial in the Steelville Cemetery.
Serving as casket bearers were Russell Brand, Rodney Brand, John
Adams, Aaron Adams, Billy Leach and Wesley Leach. Honorary casket
bearers was Kevin Gibbs.

Maxine Lavone Stricklin
Maxine Lavone Stricklin nee Fleischman of Steelville,
Missouri was born on Thursday, May 7, 1942 to John Fleischman and
Agnes Marie O'Banion Fleischman. She passed away on Monday, November
6, 2006 at Rolla Manor Care Center at the age of 64 years, 5 months
and 30 days.
She married Berlin Eugene Stricklin in Rolla, Missouri
on May 8, 1956 and to this union five children were born. Maxine
enjoyed crocheting, raising flowers, taking pictures, and most of
all spending time with her family whom she loved dearly.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepmother
Creo Fleischman who raised her.
Those who remain to mourn her passing are her children,
Timothy Sticklin and wife Katie, Tony Stricklin, of Steelville,
Missouri, Terry Mangum and son Harold Mangum Jr. of Panama City,
Florida, Theresa Hatley and husband Paul of N. Hollywood,

Jacqueline "Jackie" Watson
Jacqueline "Jackie" Watson, age 72, of Florissant,
Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri, passed away Friday,
November 3, 2006 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in St. Louis,
Missouri. She was born on Sunday, October 21, 1943 in Cincinnati,
Ohio, the daughter of Melvin D. and Jeanette (Quinn) Joyce.
Jackie was united in marriage to James "Jim" Watson in
1958 in Cincinnati, Ohio. Jim passed away on April 11, 2006 after 48
years of marriage.
She worked as a registered nurse in the St. Louis area.
She was a former member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church of
Steelville, Missouri.
Those left to mourn her passing are three daughters,
Jeanette McDonald of Wisconsin, Jennifer Foust of Bridgeton,
Missouri and Julia Watson of St. Louis, Missouri; one sister, Jo Ann
Canada of St. Louis, Missouri; 12 grandchildren; and two great
grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, November 8 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri. Graveside
services were held Thursday, November 9, 2006 at the Steelville
Cemetery with Father James Finder officiating.
The family was served by the Britton-Bennett Funeral
Home of Steelville, Missouri.
