Hannelore E. Abney
Hannelore Elfriede Abney of St. James, Missouri was born December 26, 1940
in Augsburg, Germany to Eduward and Maria (Kaiser) Leitenmayr and passed
away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of
68 years, 10 months and 16 days.
On March 21, 1962 in Augsburg, Germany, she was united in marriage to
Bobby E. Abney.
She is survived by her husband, Bobby Abney of St. James, Missouri; sons,
Brian Abney and wife Cheryl of O’Fallon, Missouri and Eric Abney and wife
Rita of O’Fallon, Missouri; one daughter, Beatrix Mosley and husband David
of St. Peters, Missouri; sister, Inge Kaps and husband Pete of St. Peters,
Missouri; five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Visitation was held from 2-8 p.m. Sunday November 15, 2009 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday November 16, 2009 at the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. James, Missouri.
Burial was in the St. James Cemetery, St. James, Missouri.

Carol L. Alford
Carol L. (Hake) Alford of rural St. James, Missouri was born to Leland J.
Hake and Margaret (Perry) Hake on September 18, 1939 in Turlock, California
and passed away on November 14, 2009 at the age of 70 years.
Carol touched many lives as a wife, mother, grandmother, farmer, nursing
home administrator, church volunteer, Women’s Club leader, 4-H leader,
seamstress, Sunday School teacher, and faithful follower of Christ Jesus.
She enjoyed all things related to church, family, decorating, sewing,
flower arranging, and reading.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Thomas E. Alford, of St. James,
Missouri; brothers, Doug Hake of Denair, California and Bob Hake and wife
Vicky of Denair, California; sisters, Linda Stevenson of Hilmar, California
and Sandy Niles and husband Allen of Worland, Wyoming; three sons, Clinton
D. Alford of St. James, Missouri, Ken Alford and wife Dulce of Rolla,
Missouri and Scott Alford and wife Mary of St. James, Missouri; three
grandchildren, Kamron Alford, Kyle Alford and Jalyn Alford, all of
St. James, Missouri.
Private burial was held Monday, November 16, 2009 at the Douglas-Morrison
Cemetery in rural St. James, Missouri.
A memorial service will be held at Rolla Bible Church, 1801 E. 10th St.,
Rolla, Missouri on Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 2 p.m.
Patricia Marie Cassidy Baker
Patricia “Pat” Marie Cassidy Baker of Davisville, Missouri was born
October 30, 1935 in Owensville, Missouri to Sidney Gail and Marie Moore
and passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Life Care Center in
Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 74 years.
She was past-president of the Jaycee Wives in 1970-1971 and past-president
of the Steelville Area Chamber of Commerce in 1980-1981.
She attended Davisville Assembly of God Church. For several years, Pat
was manager of one of the convenience stores for Wallis Oil Co.
Pat enjoyed traveling and farming with Bill, but most of all loved her
family and loved life.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney Gail, Marie Kamper and
stepfather, Marvin Kamper; one son, John Charles Cassidy; and step-son,
Mitchell Brand.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Baker of Davisville, Missouri; one
daughter, Stephanie Cassidy and companion Steven Michalik of Ellisville,
Missouri; one brother, Dale Gail of Sedalia, Missouri; one grand-daughter,
Ashley Marie Baumann of St. Louis, Missouri; one step-son, Bill D. Baker
and wife of Dena of Fair Grove, Missouri; one step-daughter, Lisa Black
and husband Allen of Republic, Missouri; six step-grandchildren, Alisha,
Brandi, Casey, Dory, Kameron and Allison; sister-in-law Betty Gremaud and
husband Pete of Pacific, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Joe Baker and wife
Wilma of Davisville, Missouri and Jim Baker and wife Kathy of Cuba,
Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 15, 2009 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Ron Walters
and Rev. John Slade officiating and Jason Wallis sharing remembrances.
Special music of “Old Gospel Ship” and “Amazing Grace was sung by Bob and
Carol Coleman with Shirley Brown accompanying on piano. The poem
“Should You Go First” was read by Bob Coleman.
Committal prayer was by Rev. John Slade and reading of the scripture by
Rev. Ron Walters.
Interment was in the Davisville Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Travis Pyatt, Tyler Pyatt, Steve Michalik, Billy Baker,
Alan Black and Jim Baker with Fred Franklyn, Joe Baker, Pete Gremaud and
Bob Wiggens as honorary casket bearers

Helen Virginia Davis
Helen Virginia Davis of Rosebud, Missouri was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois
on May 10, 1925 to William and Rosie (Littrell) Carroll and passed away
Sunday, November 8, 2009 at her residence at the age of 84 years,
5 months and 28 days.
On February 24, 1941 in Princeton, Indiana she was united in marriage to
Harry A. Davis.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gerald.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry; son, Charles Arthur
Davis; granddaughter, Angela Odom; four brothers and three sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Marcella Barnes of Bourbon, Missouri,
Norma Davis of St. Clair, Missouri, Virginia Cantwell of Potosi, Missouri,
Donna Cranmer and husband Jerry of Rosebud, Missouri and Marilyn Davis
of Owensville, Missouri; 13 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and
eight great, great grandchildren.
Visitation was held beginning at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2009.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at 10:30 a.m.
at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with
Rev. Devin Haus officiating.
Burial in the Countryside Memorial Gardens.

Bonnie E. Haley
Bonnie E. Haley was born August 14, 1930 in Salem, Missouri and to Lowell
Turner and Ethel (Fiebelman) Turner and passed away on November 7, 2009
in Wildwood, Missouri, at the age of 79 years, two months and 24 days.
In March of 1948 Bonnie was united in marriage to Robert Haley.
Bonnie was known for her great cooking abilities, but she was best known
for her love of bingo. She was a regular at the VFW and several other
places. It was a great source of enjoyment for her. The most important time
to her was that spent with her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lowell and Ethel Turner and one
son, Robert Haley.
She is survived by her husband, Robert, of the home in St. James,
Missouri; sons, Michael Haley of Overland, Missouri and James Haley and
wife Elaine of O’Fallon, Missouri; sister, Alice Gemberg and husband Herb
of Connecticut; grandchildren, David, Michael, Brenna, McKenzie and Mason;
other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from noon until time of service, Sunday, November 15, 2009.
Memorial service was Sunday, November 15, 2009 at 2:30 p.m. at the Salem
Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary, with Ken Fiebelman officiating.
Interment was in the Cedar Grove Cemetery, Salem, Missouri.

Bettie Lou Klossner
Bettie Lou (Oberkrom) Klossner of St. James, Missouri was born
February 22, 1934 at Safe, Missouri, to Herman T. (Cap) and Katie Irene
(Hemme) Oberkrom and passed away Sunday, November 8, 2009 at Phelps
County Regional Medical Center, Rolla, Missouri at the age of 75 years.
Bettie was united in marriage on April 10, 1954 to Wendell Arthur
Klossner.
Bettie was a life long resident of the St. James area and a member of the
First Church of God in St. James, Missouri. She enjoyed gardening, home
canning, sewing, quilting, fishing, camping, travel and just spending time
with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman T. (Cap) and Katie Irene
(Hemme) Oberkrom; husband, Wendell in 2003; son, Michael Arthur Klossner;
brothers, Bill Oberkrom, Michael Oberkrom and infant Oberkrom boy and
brother-in-law, Charles Magnin.
She is survived by two sons, Perry Klossner and wife Betty of Oklahoma
City, Oklahoma and Keith Klossner and wife Amy of Covington, Indiana; two
sisters, Ella Mae Magnin of Bridgeton, Missouri and Rose Mary Hughes and
husband George of Rolla, Missouri; two brothers, Charles Oberkrom and wife
Betty of Licking, Missouri and Melvin Oberkrom and wife Margo of Cedar Hill,
Missouri; one brother-in-law, Glendon Klossner and wife Kathleen of
St. James, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Virginia McIntosh and husband
Robert of St. James, Missouri; three grandchildren, Joshua Klossner, Aaron
Klossner and Rosa Klossner; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, November 12, 2009 from 3-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at First Church
of God in St. James, Missouri with Reverend Don Carson officiating.
Interment at the High Gate Church Cemetery, High Gate, Missouri.

Maxine Lacy
Maxine Lacy formerly of St. James, Missouri was born in St. James, Missouri
on March 21, 1920 to William and Ida (Barnes) James and passed away
November 11, 2009 in Jefferson City, Missouri at the age of 89 years.
On August 10, 1940 Maxine James and Albert Lacy were united in marriage
and to this union a daughter was born.
In 2000 Maxine moved to California, Missouri to be close her daughter and
grandchildren. She was a long time member of the St. James Christian Church,
and past President of the Disabled American Veteran’s organization.
After Albert passed away Maxine traveled a lot with her daughter and
son-in-law, enjoying the sites of several states. She loved every place she
visited, but she most enjoyed the sights and scenery in Nevada. Maxine was
very close to her grandchildren, so any time spent with family and friends
always made for a special day.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William an Ida James; husband,
Albert on July 11, 1991; son-in-law, Jack Crawford; brothers, Elmer, Grover
and William James and sisters, Mary Chaon and Elsie Swyers.
She is survived by her daughter, Virginia Crawford of California, Missouri;
grandchildren, Kathy Scheperle and husband Greg of Russellville, Missouri,
Jackie Brown of California, Missouri, Steven Crawford and wife Joyce of
Bonnots Mill, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, 10 great great grand-
children; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 13, 2009 at James & Gahr,
St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was held Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 2 p.m. in the
St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor Craig Rippy
officiating.
Interment was in the St. James Cemetery.

Michael R. Leathers
Michael R. Leathers was born December 1, 1955 and passed away on Saturday,
November 14, 2009 at Dunn Memorial Hospital in Bedford, Indiana at the age
of 53 years.
Born December 1, 1955 he was the son of Don and Nellie Stewart. He was the
terminal manager for Relco in Bedford. He was a Viet Nam veteran serving
with the US Navy.
He was preceded in death by one son, Jacob Leathers.
Survivors include his parents Don and Nellie Stewart of Cuba, Missouri;
one son, Jason Leathers of Bloomington, Indiana; one granddaughter Emma
Leathers of Bloomington, Indiana; two brothers, Joe Leathers and his wife
Judy of Cuba, Missouri and Mark Leathers and his wife Cindy of Cuba,
Missouri; one sister, Donna Green and her husband Bob of Blue Eye, Missouri;
one very special friend, Genia Ray of Mitchell, Indiana; other relatives and
friends.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 16, 2009 from the
Elmwood Chapel of the Day & Carter Mortuary in Bedford, Indiana with Ron
Hamrick officiating.

Melvin Marvin Makara
Melvin Marvin Makara of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, March 8, 1927 to
Thomas and Mary (nee Bibko) Makara and passed away Wednesday,
November 11, 2009 at St. Louis, Missouri.
Melvin was united in marriage to Jackie Dixon in 1969 at St. Louis,
Missouri.
He retired in 1993 after nearly 30 years of dedicated service to the
Federal Government as a Chemical Engineer.
Melvin and Jackie received “The Great American Family” award in the 1980’s
signed by Nancy Reagan. They were instrumental in starting the “Hosea House”
a food pantry in St. Louis. In his spare time he enjoyed riding his bike,
animals and could build anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mary Makara; brother,
Mike Makara; sister, Ann Bowolak; other family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Jackie Makara of the home; brother, Thomas
Makara and wife Eva of St. Louis County, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Tony
(Pat) Dixon of St. Louis, Missouri, Ralph Adams, Jr. of Cuba, Missouri; Gary
Adams of Glen Allan, Missouri, Martin, Michael and Brian Adams, all of Cuba,
Missouri; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Donald) Bowolak of St. Louis, Missouri,
Barbara (Michael) Zobrist of Cuba, Missouri, Debbie (Michael) Evans of
St. Louis, Missouri, Sandra (James) Mendoza and Terri (Jim) Tyler of Cuba,

Aileen Norma Moutray
Aileen Norma Moutray, nee Walker, was born at Huzzah, Missouri to Clyde
and Virgie (Clonts) Walker on May 22, 1920 and passed away November 7, 2009
at Delmar Gardens of Creve Coeur, Missouri at the age of 89.
Aileen married Raymond Moutray on October 29, 1938 at Union, Missouri and
to this union four children were born.
She started working in the hot lunch program at Center Point School in 1952.
After the school consolidation started, she moved to the lunch program in
the Steelville Schools and continued until her retirement in 1997. After
retiring, she enjoyed piecing quilts and hand quilting, crocheting, cooking
and working outdoors in her flowerbeds and garden.
She knew the Lord as her Savior and was a member of the Center Point Baptist
Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Virgie Walker; her
husband, Raymond; one son, Ansley Eugene Moutray; one daughter-in-law,
Deloris Moutray; one son-in-law, Walter “Skip” Presley; one brother, Thomas
Walker; six brothers-in-law, six sisters-in-law and one granddaughter.
She is survived by two daughters, Janet Cook and husband Ernest and Faye
Presley of Maryland Heights, Missouri; one son, Norman Moutray and wife Dora
of Germany; two sisters, Ava Bishop and husband Kenneth of Steelville,
Missouri and Florence Souders and husband John of Fenton, Missouri; six
sisters-in-law, Clara Gilmore of St. Ann, Missouri, Madeline West of
Leasburg, Missouri, Mabel Moutray and Edna Moutray, both of Steelville,
Missouri; Peggy Moutray of St. James, Missouri and Fairy Bryan Walker of
Bourbon, Missouri; eight grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; other
friends and relatives.

the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Matt Cook officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” and
“How Great Thou Art” was played.
Committal prayer and burial were in the Liberty Cemetery.

Omer Edward Ritchhart, Jr.
Omer Edward Ritchhart, Jr. of Cook Station, Missouri was born on Wednesday,
January 19, 1949 in Jakes Prairie, Missouri to Omer Edward Ritchhart, Sr.
and Goldie Iceline Gearhart Ritchhart and passed away Saturday,
November 7, 2009 at the age of 60 years, 9 months and 19 days.
Omer served in the United States Marine Corps. His hobbies were fishing and
listening to country music.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Omer and Goldie Ritchhart;
daughter, April Ritchhart; brothers, Arliss and Darrol Ritchhart; sisters,
Shirley Paasch and Inamay Branco; and brother-in-law, Angelo Branco.
He is survived by his daughters, Paula (Mike) Pitts of Cook Station,
Missouri, Tanya (Mike) Higgs and Tonia Ritchhart all of Cody, Wyoming;
stepsons Thomas (Twyla) Caldwell of Salem, Missouri and Billy Caldwell of
Union, Missouri; sister, Ledabelle (Mervin) Spurgeon of Rochester, Illinois;
15 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

James Lee Treadway
James “Jim” Lee Treadway of Brumley, Missouri, formerly of Viburnum,
Missouri was born October 31, 1929 in Wellston, Missouri to Harry Edward
Treadway Sr. and Margaret Dempsey and passed away Thursday, November 12, 2009
at Lake Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri at the age of 80 years.
He was united in marriage January 25, 1958 to Barbara Marie Northington who
passed away in March of 2003.
Jim served his country during the Korean War in the United States Air Force
from 1955-1959. He worked for AMAX Lead Co. of Boss for many years and
retired in 1982.
Jim was a member of the Hickory Grove Assembly in Bixby, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Marie; one son, Mark Anthony
Treadway and three brothers, Ted, Jack and Bill Treadway.
He is survived by his two sons, James Phillip Treadway of Brumley, Missouri
and Ronnie Treadway and wife Tina of Marshall, Arkansas; two daughters,
Dianna Kim Morrow of Brumley, Missouri and Sheila Lynn Treadway and husband
Ron; four step-children, Robert David Baker and wife Rose of Wentzville,
Missouri, Paul Edward Baker and wife Pam of Courtois, Missouri, Rose Lawanda
Kincy and husband Steve of Jackson, Missouri and Linda Diane Crocker of
Potosi, Missouri; one brother, Harry Treadway, Jr. of St. Louis, Missouri;
two sisters, Darlene Ackley of O’Fallon, Missouri and Lydia Moyer of

Fredrick L. Walters
Fredrick L. Walters of Cuba, Missouri was born December 19, 1947 at
St. Louis, Missouri to Custer R. and Nadine E. (Blanton) Walters and passed
away Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at Rolla, Missouri at the age of 61 years.
Fred was a retired from the United States Air Force as a Master Sergeant.
His hobbies included hunting, fishing and watching wrestling.
He was preceded in death by his father, Custer R. Walters; one brother,
Robert Daniel Walters; one sister, Marilyn Sue Weston; other relatives
and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Judy Walters of the home; five children, Eric
Walters and friend Kimberly Kaub of Nixa, Missouri, Bonnie and husband
Thomas Satterly of Nixa, Missouri, Sheila and husband Joe Hoyt of Springfield,
Missouri, Cheryl and husband Gary Tidwell of Festus, Missouri, John and wife
