Kim H. “Tiny” Ackerman
Kim “Tiny” Ackerman of Sullivan, Missouri, was born October 22, 1955
in St. Louis, Missouri to Ralph Jacob and Pearl Irene (Henry)
Ackerman and passed away Thursday, November 7, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish
Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri at the age of 58 years.
Kim or “Tiny” as he was known to his family and friends worked as a
well driller and was a member of the Eagles Aerie 3781 in Sullivan,
Missouri.
He is survived by two sons, Josh Ackerman and wife Amanda of Bourbon,
Missouri and James “J.T.” Thompson and fianceé Ashley of Sullivan,
Missouri; his sister, Shari Ackerman of Sullivan, Missouri; his
brother, Bill Ackerman and wife Mary of Sullivan, Missouri; three
grandchildren, Justice, Jordan and Madison Ackerman; special grand-
children, Trinity, Autumn, William and Zach; other relatives and
friends.
A memorial service will be planned at a later date.

Barella “Mable” Allen
Barella “Mable” Allen of Vichy, Missouri was born July 23, 1931 in
Vichy, Missouri to Frank Benjamin and Nellie May (Errett) Ford and
passed away Saturday, November 9, 2013 at the age of 82 years.
Mable was united in marriage to George Allen on July 8, 1953 and to
this union four children were born.
After living in the St. Louis area George and Mable returned to
Vichy and opened Allens Inn where Mable would spend the next 40
years as the “chief, cook and bottle washer” making friends with not
only the local patrons, but with those just stopping by on their way
through Vichy. “Mable’s Friendly Inn” as it was know to many was an
icon throughout the years and boasted a jukebox full of the classic
country music that she loved. Mable was a big supporter of the Vichy
community. She loved her family and sharing a meal by having a
barbeque, a wild game fry and the many fish fry’s she would host.
Mable could cook anything wild and did from squirrel to the raccoon.
Mable could and would cook them up a lot times not telling anyone
what they were eating until they were done eating whatever it was
that she made. She loved playing bingo and when the time and weather
permitted she enjoyed going to St. Louis to the boat. She always
lived by the rule “a stranger is a friend you haven’t met yet.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Nellie Ford;
husband, George in 1992; son, Donnie Allen; brothers, John Henry
and Clyde Ford; sister, Grace Hart and son-in-law, Claude Ragan.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Ragan of Leslie, Missouri,
Kenny Allen Sr. and wife Patricia of Vichy, Missouri, Terry Meadows
and husband Roger of St. Louis, Missouri and Linda Koelling and
husband Jim of Leslie, Missouri; brother, Clarence Ford and wife
Carlene of Lonedell, Missouri; sister, Loretta Douglas and husband
Willard of California; grandchildren, Kenny Allen Jr., David Ragan,
Keith Koelling, Cheryl Koelling, Mark Allen and Michelle Meadows;
great grandchildren, Blake and Nathan Allen, Katlyn Roberts, and
Kyler James Allen; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr
Mortuary on Wednesday, November 13, 2013 from 5-8 p.m.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2013
at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary.
Interment was at the Lower Davis Cemetery.

Ralph Edward Bayless
Ralph Edward Bayless of Cuba was born to Samuel and Martha E. “Nell”
(Ferris) Bayless on February 13, 1941 in Cuba, Missouri and passed
away Monday, November 11, 2013 at Phelps County Regional Medical
Center in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 72 years.
Ralph was united in marriage to JoAnn C. Hall on October 15, 1960
and to this union four children were born.
Ralph retired as the Postmaster of the Steelville Post Office and
had 31 years of dedicated service to the U.S. Postal Service. He was
the current 2nd Ward Alderman for the City of Cuba, having served
on the council since April of 1995. He enjoyed hunting, fishing,
traveling and sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel and Martha Bayless;
brother, Sam Bayless; sister, Diana Bishop and son-in-law, Michael
McDonald.
He is survived by his wife, JoAnn C. Bayless of Cuba, Missouri;
four children, Kimberly Ann and husband Pat Uding of Libertyville,
Illinois, Gretchen S. McDonald of Pelham, Alabama, Edward Ray and
wife Elizabeth Bayless, Greg A. and wife Julie Bayless, all of Cuba,
Missouri; seven grandchildren, Beth Ann and Evan Uding, Kristen
McDonald, Justin and Jerrid Bayless, Jacob and Jonathan Bayless;
two great grandchildren, Brody and Tristan; one brother, John and
wife Joanne Bayless of Cuba, Missouri; one sister, Donna Jacques

Wilda Beamon
Wilda Beamon of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Albans, Missouri
on June 22, 1934 to Louis and Violet (West) Corsert and passed away
Thursday, November 14, 2013.
She married John Beamon on June 25, 1955 and to this union six
children were born.
She was a devout Christian and gave her heart to the Lord in 1968.
She and John raised their children in the Church. They taught them
Christian values, and always believing that God was the foundation
they needed to carry them through good times and bad. Wilda was a
long time member and Deacon of the First Assembly of God Church. She
loved to sing in the choir, listen to gospel music, and to go on
car rides (long or short) didn’t matter as long as she didn’t have
to drive.
Her greatest passion was the love she had for her family, she
loved to cook and bake and have everyone in for a meal and
fellowship.
Wilda worked in and around the community as a caretaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Violet Corsert;
son, Keith Beamon; brothers, Charles, Joe, Kenny, David, and Karl
Beamon; sister, Geraldean Burden.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 58 years, John Beamon of
the home; daughter, Connie Fitzgerald and husband John of St. Clair,
Missouri; sons, Dennis and friend Mona of St. James, Missouri,
Kevin Beamon of Blackwell, Oklahoma, Tim Beamon and wife Kristin
of Gering, Nebraska, Terry Beamon and wife Angila of Paragould,

June Larose Greenstreet Carmack
June Larose Greenstreet Carmack of Leasburg, Missouri was born at
Melbourne, Arkansas on June 11, 1936 to Thomas Clayton and Mabel
Irene (Walker) Greentstreet and passed away at Cuba Manor, Friday,
November 15, 2013 at the age of 77 years, 5 months and 4 days.
She was raised in Melbourne, Arkansas and later graduated high school
before moving to Waynesville, Missouri. There she worked as a
cashier at the My-Low Supermarket.
It was while living in Waynesville that she met her future husband,
Ivan Dennis Carmack. They were married on February 11, 1955 in
Waynesville and became long-time residences of the area.
June moved to the Leasburg, Missouri area to live with her
brother after her husband passed away on November 21, 2003.
June enjoyed knitting and crocheting, working in her garden and
canning. She was also fond of horses. June was a member of the
Deer Lick Baptist Church of Waynesville, Missouri.
She is survived by two daughters, Joyce Pauline Maxwell and husband
Dave of Gamaliel, Arkansas and Cathy Rose Hodgett and husband Mike
of Waynesville, Missouri; two brothers, Tom Greenstreet of Melbourne,
Arkansas and Ralph Greenstreet of Leasburg, Missouri; two sisters,
Virginia Decker of Melbourne, Arkansas and Helen Slavick of Wichita,
Kansas; two granddaughters, Phoebe and Melissa; one great grandson,
Dillon; other relatives and friends.

November 17, 2013 at Living Word Church in Leasburg, Missouri.

William T. “Bill” Cochran
William T. “Bill” Cochran, of Rolla, Missouri was born in Rolla on
May 12, 1948 to Thomas and Hazel (Bowen) Cochran and passed away
Thursday, November 7, 2013 at the age of 65 years.
On May 18, 2001 he married Kathy (Woolsey) Cochran.
Bill was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having proudly served three
tours in Vietnam as a Naval Seabee.
Bill retired from the City of Rolla where he worked as a concrete
foreman for the Street Department. The beauty and care of his work
is evident throughout the City of Rolla. Bill’s lifelong passion
and talents were apparent in his love of restoring and collecting
vintage cars/trucks.
He will also be remembered for being a playful and loving
“Papa Bill.”
he was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Hazel Cochran;
one sister, P.J. Weber.
He is survived by his wife Kathy Cochran of the home; four children,
Angela and Jeremy Thomas of Rolla, Missouri, Chad and Carrie Hill

Herbert “Herb” Lawrence Gillam
Herbert “Herb” Lawrence Gillam of Steelville, Missouri was born in
Ishmael, Missouri on February 10, 1930 to Floyd L. and Lonnie
Brakefield Gillam and passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at
the age of 83 years, 9 months and 2 days.
On August 31, 1951 in Potosi, Missouri, he married Rosemary Carl.
Herb went into the U.S. Marine Corp. After serving his country
honorably, he worked for Mayrose/Swift Meat Packing Co. in
St. Louis.
In 1967 they moved to Czar Tower and he went to work at St. Joe
Lead Co. for 17 years. Herb worked at the YMCA Camp near Potosi
and helped build the Lodge. He retired from Brown Shoe Co. in
Steelville, Missouri in 1994.Herb was very active in the Lookout
Assembly of God Church in Viburnum, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting,
fishing, searching for mushrooms and watching the St. Louis Cardinals.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Lonie Gillam;
two brothers, Elmer Gillam and wife Betty and Paul Gillam and wife
Virginia; two sisters, Oneta Schlake, Rosealee Stulce and husband
Fred; brothers in-law, Paul Welzbacher, Gilbert Carl and Charles Carl;
one grandson, Clinton Lee; and one great grandson, Ashton O’Neail.

Headrick. “Daddy’s Home” was sung by Sharon Headrick and accompanied
on guitar by Dennis Pryor.
Committal prayer and interment with full military honors by the
U.S. Marines and the U.S. Army were in the Czar Cemetery at Viburnum,
Missouri. Special music of “Amazing Grace” was played by Rob Bowness
on bagpipes.

John Henry Johnson
John Henry Johnson of Steelville, Missouri was born on Sunday,
April 22, 1928 in Steelville, Missouri to Clark and Ruth Staples
Johnson and passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the age of
85 years.
John attended Cherryville High School then moved to Bonne Terre
where he graduated from high school. He went to work for International
Tractor Company as a mechanic. He enlisted in the United States Air
Force during the Korean War and served his country honorably. After
the war, he attended the Missouri School of Mines in Rolla for a few
semesters then went to work for McDonnell Douglas as an electrical
engineer and retired after 37 years.
He married Marilyn Greb on June 21, 1958 at Our Redeemer’s Lutheran
Church, St. Louis, Missouri and to this union three children were
born.
John’s hobbies were fishing, bowling, working on cars, and spending
time on his farm. He was also a St. Louis Cardinal fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clark and Ruth Johnson;
wife, Marilyn Johnson; brothers, Noel (Esther) Johnson and Rodney
Johnson; sisters, Virginia (Ed) Bayles, Edna Snelson, and Veneta
(Gene) Baker; brothers-in-law, Frank Sanders, Bud Gahr and Morris
Zachritz.
He is survived by his children, David (Laurie) Johnson, Lisa (Marc)
Braunschweig of Eureka, Missouri and Mark (Tricia) Johnson of
Steelville, Missouri; sister, Mildred “Millie” Gahr of Steelville,
Missouri; sister-in-law, Audrey (Hack) Gibbs of Catawissa, Missouri;
grandchildren, Nicole and Blake Johnson, Isaac and Jordan

Beulah Irene Roper Moline
Beulah Irene Roper Moline, nee Edgar, was born March 2, 1922 in
Wesco, Missouri to Pleas Disco and Dora Lela Gorman Edgar and
passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at Gibbs Care Center in
Steelville, Missouri at the age of 91 years, 8 months and 11 days.
Beulah was a member of the First Baptist Church of Steelville,
Missouri. She worked several years in Cuba, Missouri at the shoe
factory.
She enjoyed sewing and gardening for many years, but most of all
enjoyed and loved seeing all of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Pleas and Dora Edgar;
three sons, Richard, Larry and Dean Roper; five brothers, Elmer
Edgar and wife Edna, Cecil Edgar, Reuben Edgar and wife Opal,
Harold and Bonnie Edgar; and one sister, Wanda Freie.
She is survived by her son, David Roper of St. Ann, Missouri;
three daughters, Mary Cummings and husband Rob, Carol Carr and
husband Ed and Janice Snodgrass, all of Steelville, Missouri; one
sister, Bonnie Lea and husband Pete of Steelville, Missouri;
sister-in-law, Alma Edgar of St. James, Missouri; 17 grandchildren;
24 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.

officiating. Special music of “How Great Thou Art” and
“Amazing Grace” was played by Sheila Floyd and accompanied on piano
by Robin Owens. Memories were shared by daughter, Carol Carr.

Cherryville, Missouri.

Donna Lynn Phelps
Donna Phelps of Bourbon, Missouri was born in Kansas on May 26, 1956
and passed away Friday, November 8, 2013. Donna lost her battle with
breast cancer at the age of 57 years.
She married the love of her life Jeff G. Phelps in Bourbon on
August 5, 1977 and to this union three children were born. He
preceded her in death in May of 2000.
Donna was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Bourbon
and was very active in her kids’ school life, serving on the PTO
for many years. She enjoyed many adventures with friends, loved the
river and especially liked playing bingo. Donna was well known as a
talented seamstress, the life of the party and as a giving and
caring individual. Donna made one last act of kindness by donating
herself to help others through medical research.
She is survived by her parents, Don and Emma Tucker; brother, Bruce
Tucker and wife Leticia; two sisters, Cindy Wood and Rissa Root and
husband Brian; a son, Jeff A. Phelps and wife April; two daughters,
Jessica Lynn Delmont and husband Jeremy and Stacy Lynn King and
husband Jason; five grandchildren, Jeffery, Trinity, Jade, Jackson
and Charli; two brothers-in-law, Dwain Phelps Jr and Keith Phelps

William E. Pitts
William E. Pitts of St. James, Missouri was born in St. Louis,
Missouri on July 26, 1944 to William A. and Claudine Mae (Snodgrass)
Pitts and passed away Sunday, November 10, 2013 at the age of
69 years. The oldest male of eight siblings William cut short his
education when his father passed away, so he could go to work to
help his mother provide for his brothers and sisters.
On May 12, 1969 William married Donna Horton and this union was
blessed with two children.
William loved to tinker in his workshop. He also enjoyed working
outside on his property. One of life’s greatest gifts to William
were his grandchildren.
William retired from Dan Marine Towing LLC, of Baltimore, Maryland
in 2003 with over 30 years of being a Chief Engineer on a tug boat.
William has traveled all over the United States, Canada, Mexico
and South America, William has sailed from Atlantic Ocean, the
Caribbean, Gulf of Mexico and Pacific Ocean during his career as
a Chief Engineer.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Claudine Pitts;
son, Emmett Oliver Pitts; brother, Jonah Pitts; sisters, Faye
Summers, Joann Storie; and great granddaughter, Zoey Dawn Smith.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years Donna of the home;
daughter, Dawn O’Neal and husband Todd of St. James, Missouri;
brothers, Jerry Pitts and wife Sheryl of St. James, Missouri and
Johnny Pitts and wife Debra of Tampa, Florida; sisters, Louise
Storie and husband Vernon of St. Charles, Missouri and Mildred Rey

Virginia Ellen Propst
Virginia Propst of Bourbon was born December 17, 1934 in Kansas,
Illinois to Lawrence and Maude (Tracy) Herrington and passed away
Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at St. Clair Hospital in Fenton,
Missouri at the age of 78 years.
Ellen as she was known to her family and friends was first married
to Edward Eckert. He passed away in 1971. She then married
John E. Propst on December 21, 1973 in Bridgeton, Missouri.
Ellen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in
Bourbon, Missouri serving in the UMW Women’s Club, worked with the
Food Pantry and as the Church Treasurer. She loved games and game
shows. She enjoyed scrabble, jigsaw and crossword puzzles, Nintendo
and Wii and pinochle (when she could find players). She was a snack
addict and an avid cook and a mean crocheter and loved to watch
Cardinal baseball. In addition to her children and grandchildren
she loved her pets, Kira the dog and boots the cat.
She was preceded by her husbands, Edward Eckert in 1971 and John
Propst on August 15, 2000; her parents, Lawrence and Maude
Herrington; two sons, James and Frank Eckert; five brothers, Frank,
Bernard, Bud, Charles and Dan Herrington; two sisters, Maude Whitson
and Flora; a grandchild, Cody Edwards and a great grandchild,
Sophia Moore.
She is survived by a daughter, Dianna Parnell and husband Michael
of Bourbon, Missouri; brother, Darrell Herrington and wife Helen of
Port Charlotte, Florida; 10 grandchildren, Angel, Jamie, Casey,
Ezekiel, Jesika, Joshua, Levi, Christopher, Michael and Alicia;
23 great grandchildren; special family, Debbie, Janice, Terry,
Shawna, Trisha, Amanda, Ryan and Tawnya; two sisters-in-law, Lois
Herrington of California and Berna Herrington of Paris, Illinois;
other relatives and friends
Visitation was on Monday, November 11, 2013 from 10 a.m. to noon
at the First United Methodist Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral services were at noon on Monday, November 11, 2013 at the
church with burial at the Bourbon Cemetery.
Arrangements under the direction of the Eaton Funeral Home.
Chester A. Rogers
Chester A. Rogers of Cuba, Missorui was born on Tuesday,
April 10, 1928 in Payne County, Oklahoma to Allen R. and
Elizabeth D. Smith Rogers and passed away Friday, November 15, 2013
at the age of 85 years, 7 months and 5 days.
Chester served his country honorably in the United States Army
during the Korean War.
He married Joy Miller on February 28, 1953 in Hernando, Mississippi
and to this union two children were born.
Chester earned his Associate’s Degree at Southwest Baptist College,
Bolivar, Missouri, then transferred to Ouachita Baptist College in
Arkansas earning his Bachelor’s Degree in Education. He later
received his Masters of Social Studies degree at Southwest MO State
College of Springfield, Missouri. He taught public school for six
years in Bourbon and Cross Timbers, Missouri. He then worked as a
postal carrier for the Cuba Post Office and retired in 1990. He
served many churches as a bi-vocational Pastor in Missouri and
Arkansas. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church,
Cuba, Missouri. At one time, served as a Moderator in the Meramec
Baptist Association. He was active in the Truss and Obey Mission
Team. During his retirement he enjoyed spending his winters in
Texas, playing table games with friends and reading. For the
last 2 1/2 years he has been a resident of the MO Veterans Home,
St. James, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Elizabeth Rogers;
brother, Jack Rogers; infant sister, Bessie Rogers; sister, Martha
(Cliff) Wilcox; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Akers, Alice
Ferling, Allan Miller, Gladys (Sylvester) Nieman, Loretta (Dale)
Ellis, Iva Mae (Walter) Westholz and Faith Moore.
He is survived by his wife, Joy Miller Rogers of Cuba, Missouri;
children, Mark (Janeal) Rogers and Dee Anna (Jim) Chapman, all of
Cuba, Missouri; grandchildren, Ashley (Tommy) Schmelz, Alisha Chapman
and Alexa Rogers, all of Cuba, Missouri; great grandchildren,
Chase and Chasidy Schmelz; brother and sisters, Esther Akers of
Sullivan, Missouri, Mary (Jerry) Hudson of Jefferson City, Missouri,
Harold Rogers and Ruth (Bill) Jost, all of Owensville, Missouri,
Susie (Larry) Ellis of Belle, Missouri; brother-in-law, Joe Moore
of Waco, Texas; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. with Chapter
65 Disabled American Veteran’s Service at 6:30 p.m. and funeral
service Monday, November 18, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Bob Knight officiating.
Burial was at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military
honors.
Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri.
