Rita Boyd
Rita Lynn Boyd, 48, Owensville, Missouri, passed away
Friday, November 10, 2006 at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan,
Missouri.
Rita was born September 20, 1958 at Washington to
Richard and Ruth Strack Boyd. She was a cable television engineer
and a member of the First Christian Church of Owensville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her son, Adam Boyd.
She is survived by her mother, Ruth Hinson of Cuba,
Missouri; father, Richard and Shirley Boyd of Owensville, Missouri;
brother, Mark Boyd and wife Teresa of Owensville, Missouri; four
step sisters, Linda Hinson of Bourbon, Missouri, Dawn Leslie and
husband Mike of High Ridge, Missouri, Belinda Garlock and husband
Mike o Ellisville, Missouri and Anita Oldfather and husband Ray of
Owensville, Missouri.
Five step brothers, Terry Hinson and wife Laura, Mike
Hinson and wife Cathy, David Crosby and wife Denise and Ted Crosby
and wife Jane, all of Owensville, Missouri and Gary Hinson of Cuba,
Missouri.
A memorial service was held Friday, November 18, 2006 at
11 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Owensville, Missouri.
Elias Chymiak
Elias "Al" Chymiak of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and
formerly of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of the late John
and Maria (Homak) Chymiak on October 16, 1921 in Dickson City,
Pennsylvania and passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2006 at the age
of 85 years and 30 days.
Al was united in marriage to Virginia Sikorski on March
25, 1944.
Al was born in Dickson City, Pennsylvania; attended
school until he was 15 at which time he joined the Civilian
Conservation Corp (CCC) to help support his family and learn a
trade. He was paid $30 per month of which half was sent home to his
mother to help support his brothers and sisters during the
Depression. In the CCC Al learned many life vocational skills.
After leaving the CCC Al moved to Detroit, Michigan to
live with his sister Rose and find work. He fell in love with
Virginia Sikorski and married in 1944. He enlisted in the Army Air
Force (AAF) in October 1942 and served until December 1945. He was
trained to be an aircraft mechanic and was assigned to various
training squadrons during his tour of duty. He was awarded the
American Theater Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal and the Victory Medal
for World War II.
Al and Virginia relocated to Cuba, Missouri in the early
1950s working as refrigeration repairman prior to being employed at
ECHO Supply until his retirement in 1982. Al and Virginia owned the
La Treasure Hut selling antiques with Al doing upholstery for many
years.
He was most proud of obtaining a "License to Preach"
issued by the Southern Missouri District Council of the Assemblies
of God in Springfield, Missouri in 1989 serving his Lord primarily
in nursing homes in Cuba, Missouri and Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He
was faithful to minister to his congregations regardless of size or
health.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia; son,
Michael; brothers, Harry and John; sisters, Sophia and Rose.
Al is survived by sons, David and wife Judy, Ken and
wife Susan, both of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tim and Monquie of Rolla,
Missouri; daughter-in-law, Vickie Chymiak of Cuba, Missouri;
grandchildren, Nikki Chymiak Hokanson and husband Duffy, Mark
Chymiak and wife Eve, Debbra Chymiak and husband Bill, Stacy Chymiak
Holland and husband Marvin, Jennifer Chymiak, Samantha and Justina
Chymiak; four great-grandchildren; three sisters; nephews and
nieces.
Visitation was held Friday, November 17, 2006 from 6-8
p.m. at Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Saturday, November 18, 2006 at 10
a.m. at Britton Funeral Home with Rev. Mark Smith, officiating.
Interment was in the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Juanita M. Dye
Juanita M. Dye, age 76, of Eldon, died Tuesday, November
7, 2006, at her home. She was born in Cherryville on October 3,
1930, a daughter of the late Clarence I. and Laura G. (Murray)
Williams. On November 2, 1949, in Waynesville, she was married to
Walter Eugene Dye, who survives at the home.
As a young girl, Juanita gave her heart to the Lord.
She was a member of Aurora Springs Baptist Church. She was a
dedicated nurse and enjoyed spending her time sewing and camping and
listening to gospel music. She will be greatly missed by all who
loved her and knew her.
Others who survive her include, two daughters, Brenda
Harmon of California and Janet Bilbary and husband Don of Newburg,
Missouri; one son, David Dye of Eldon, Missouri; four grandchildren,
Angela Scott, Zachary Pinzke, LaRae Cotten and Tyler Dye; three
great grandchildren, Joshua and Leelan Scott and Cierra Riggs; three
step grandchildren; one brother, Cordell Williams of Richland and
numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons, David Paul
Dye and Douglas Lynn Dye and an infant brother.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, November 9, 2006
at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon, Missouri. Services were held at 10
a.m. on Saturday, November 11, 2006 at Rekus Funeral Home in Eldon,
Missouri. Rev. Don Bilbary and Rev. John Dearing officiated.
Interment in Greenmore Memorial Gardens.
Robert William Farris
Robert William Farris of Cuba, Missouri was born
September 7, 1940 at Sullivan, Missouri to the union of William
Farris and Georgia (nee Enloe) Farris and passed away on Friday,
November 17, 2006 at Columbia, Missouri at the age of 66 years, 2
months and 10 days.
Bob was a well know business man for many years. He
loved NASCAR, country music, family and friends.
He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, step
father, step grandfather and step great grandfather, brother,
brother-in-law, nephew, uncle, cousin and friend and he will be
deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Farris;
one sister, Marilyn Sue; grandparents, John and Mary Enloe and
Thomas and Rosa Farris.
He is survived by his wife, Dinah Farris of Cuba,
Missouri; his mother, Georgia Farris of Sullivan, Missouri; two
brothers, James and wife Rickie Farris of Eureka, Missouri and Bill
and wife Rhonda Farris of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters, Tammy
Treece and Melissa and husband Brian Unruh of Okeenfe, Oklahoma;
four grandchildren, Sara and Amy Treece and Rebecca and Wesley Unruh
of Okeenfe, Oklahoma.
Four step children, Peggy Schaefer of Cuba, Missouri,
Michael and wife Kathryn Craft of Rogersville, Missouri, Laurie
Craft of Cuba, Missouri and Terry Craft of Cuba, Missouri; three
step grandchildren; a very special granddaughter, Melissa Craft of
the home, A.J. Craft of Rogersville, Missouri, Ashley Gorzik of
Palms Spring, California; one step great grandson, Adam Gorzik of
Palms Springs, California; uncle Frank Farris; aunt Delores Willig;
nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephew, great great nephews and a
host of friends who loved him.
Visitation was held Monday, November 20, 2006 from 4 to
8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba. Funeral service was held at 11
a.m. on Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Britton Funeral Home, Cuba
with Pastor Woody Martin officiating.
"Go Rest High on that Mountain," "Amazing Grace," "How
Great Thou Art" and "Rock of Ages" was the special music for the
service. Burial at Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
The family was served by the Britton Funeral Home of
Cuba, Missouri.
Bonnie Jean Hatcher
Bonnie Jean Hatcher, nee Ray, of Steelville, Missouri,
was born on Thursday, December 10, 1936 in Steelville, Missouri to
Charles A. Ray and Irene Hanks Ray. She passed away in her home on
Monday, November 13, 2006 at the age of 69 years, 11 months and
three days.
Bonnie married David William Hatcher on June 23, 1953 at
the First Assembly of God Church, Steelville, Missouri and to this
union four children were born.
Before retirement Bonnie worked at Steelville Public
Schools for 22 years as a teachers aid with special needs children.
She accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an
early age. Bonnie was actively involved at Steelville Assembly of
God Church for 40 years serving as Missionettes leader and working
with children's church then recently became a member of Covenant
Praise Church in Cuba, Missouri.
Her hobbies were reading, cooking, watching and feeding
the birds, going to the river and camping. Most of all, she loved
her family and especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband,
David; father-in-law, Alonzo J. Hatcher and mother-in-law, Opal L.
Earney Hatcher and an infant brother, Charles Ray.
She is survived by her children, David R. (Sandy)
Hatcher, Michael (Patrice) Hatcher, Roben (Gary) Griggs, all of
Steelville, Missouri; and Mark (Tammi) Hatcher of Sullivan,
Missouri; sisters, Wilma (Bernard) Davisson of Lampe, Missouri, Lois
(Ken) Hatcher of Nashville, Tennessee and Charlotte (Jack) Key of
Lampe, Missouri; brother-in-law, Wayne (Winnie) Hatcher of Ruston,
Louisana.
Grandchildren, Presha (Mark) Earney, Erin (Bryan)
Silverthorn, Meredith Light, Eli Hatcher, Kaitlyn Hatcher, Nathan,
Lauren and Preston Griggs, Ashleigh and Nicholas Hatcher, all of
Steelville, Missouri; Jacob Hatcher and Dale Meyers, all of
Sullivan, Missouri and Elissa (Vincent) Eaton of Springfield,
Missouri; four great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and
many friends.
Visitation was Wednesday, November 15, 2006 from 4-9
p.m. at the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Mark
Smith and Rev. Allen Franklin officiating.
Special music of "I Bless Your Name" and "He Didn't
Throw the Clay Away" was sung by Wendy Holland and Julie Dotson.
Burial was in the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson
Funeral Home, Steelville, Missouri.
Marian Margaret Weber
Marian Margaret Weber (nee Kennedy) of Cuba, Missouri
and formerly of Bridgeton, Missouri was born January 27, 1922 in St.
Louis, Missouri to the union of Harry Kennedy and Nellie Kennedy
(nee Moore) and passed away Thursday, November 16, 2006 at the age
of 84 years, 9 days and 19 months.
She was united in marriage to Joseph P. Weber, Sr. on
August 27, 1940 and to this union three children were born, Shirley,
Joseph P. Jr. and James. After the passing of her husband, Marian
was united in marriage to George Weber on November 27, 1999.
Marian enjoyed spending time with her family, bowling,
walking and was an avid racecar fan as she cheered on her sons, Joe
and James. She volunteered many hours at Phelps County Regional
Medical Center in Rolla, Missouri, Gibbs Care Center in Steelville,
Missouri, Cuba Manor in Cuba, Missouri and at Golden Echoes in
Steelville, Missouri.
Marian was a parishioner at St. Jude Catholic Church,
Overland, Missouri and had attended both Holy Cross Catholic Church
and Cuba Free Will Baptist Church both in Cuba, Missouri.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and
Nellie; her first husband, Joseph P. Weber, Sr.; son, James P.
Weber; one brother, Milton Hebrink; and two sisters, Cynthia Gnuse
and Juanita Spak.
Those who are left to mourn her passing are her husband,
George Weber of Bridgeton, Missouri; daughter, Shirley (Ed) Schreit
of Sullivan, Missouri; son, Joseph P. (Shirley) Weber, Jr. of Cuba,
Missouri; daughter-in-law, Pam Weber of Cuba, Missouri; sister,
Dorothy Altemueller of St. Charles, Missouri; eight grandchildren,
17 great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, nieces and
nephews.
Visitation was Saturday, November 18, 2006 from 5-8 p.m.
at Colliers Funeral in Bridgeton, Missouri and also Sunday, November
19, 2006 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral Mass was held Monday, November 20, 2006 at 10
a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Bill
Baier as the celebrant.
Interment in Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
