MO Local Obituaries for the Week of November 25, 2008 Noel “Pete” Bouse Noel “Pete” Bouse of Cuba, Missouri was born on Saturday, March 18, 1933 in Butts, Missouri to John James Bouse and Maggie Belle Sites Bouse. He passed away on Sunday, November 16, 2008 at the age of 75 years, 7 months, and 29 days. Pete married Judy Evers on March 9, 1963 at the Methodist Church in Viburnum, Missouri and to this union four daughters were born. He accepted Jesus Christ early in his youth and had attended First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri. Pete served his country honorably in the United States Army from April 1953-April 1955. After the service he was employed at Bass Hardware in Steelville, then Brown Shoe and Convey Heel Co. In 1969, he went to work for Echo Supply, Cuba, Missouri where he retired from in 1991 and was part of the I.A. of M. and A.W. machinists union district 9. Pete’s hobbies were raising cattle, watching the St. Louis Cardinals, and especially playing shuffleboard. He was called the slugger when he played catcher and second baseman with the Bouse boys family softball team. His love of sports was carried on to his children and grandchildren who are all active in sports and love for the outdoors. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant daughter, Wendy Bouse; brothers, Bill (Joann) Bouse, Luther, Ron, and Dick Bouse; sisters, Betty Jo Bouse, Verna (Armin) Ayers, and Eileen Weiner. He is survived by his daughters, Andrea (Brian) Bote of Wright City, Missouri, Julie (Shannon) Johanning of Sullivan, Missouri, and Heidi Bouse of Fenton, Missouri; beloved companion, Sharon Willis of the home for many years; brothers, Chuck (Connie) Bouse, and Tom (Ruby) Bouse, all of Cuba, Missouri, Jack (Julie) Bouse of Foley, Alabama, and sister Vera Lee Hewkin of Cuba, Missouri; sisters-in-law Joyce, Jane and Hallie Bouse, all of Steelville, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Peter, Megan, Brandon, and Justin Bote, Tessa, Seth, and Hanna Johanning, Devon and KJ Bouse; other relatives and friends. Visitation was Tuesday, November 18, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. and funeral service was Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating. Marguerite Emma Conway Marguerite Emma Conway, 85, of Steelville, Missouri was born April 16, 1923 in Flora, Illinois to Randolph and Louise (Hodde) Frazee and passed away Tuesday, November 18, 2008 at Gibbs Care Center in Steelville, Missouri at the age of 85 years. Marguerite was united in marriage to William “Bill” Conway on June 14, 1947 in Steelville, Missouri. He preceded her in death in 1973. Marguerite worked for the civil service in New Mexico for several years. She was a member of the St. Michael’s Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Warren Frazee; four sisters, Shirley Frazee, Virginia Carney, Helen Lane and Genevieve Wright; and two brothers-in-law, Albert Lane and James Wright. She is survived by a sister-in-law, Betty Frazee of Steelville, Missouri; a brother-in-law Russell Carney of Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2009. Prayer services were held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, November 19, 2008 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Friday at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Steelville, Missouri with Father James Finder officiating. Organ music was provided by Delores Bell. Fierce, Jr. Chris “Dead-Eye” M. Fierce, Jr., 68, of Cuba, Missouri, formerly of Steelville, Missouri was born April 21, 1940 to Chris and Jessie (Wilson) in St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Sunday, November 16, 2008 at his daughter Becky’s home in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 68 years. Chris was a member of the Mid America Mountain Men rendezvous, Meramec Free Trappers and the Cherokee Renegades. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Charles Fierce and one sister, Darlene Willard. He is survived by a son, Christopher Fierce and wife Tracy of Dixon, Missouri;three daughters, Alice Galayda and husband Skip of Steelville, Missouri, Rebecca McConnell and husband Jesse and Carrie Scott and husband Bert, all of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Larry William Fierce and wife Ashley of St. Roberts, Missouri; four sisters, Pat Mash, Betty Mitchelle and Mary Ann Goode, all of St. James, Missouri and Shirley Youcum and husband Ron of Tucson, Arizona; 11 grandchildren and one great grandson; other relatives; friends and his rendezvous family. Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 and 12 p.m. until time of service on Wednesday, November 19, 2008 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Special vocal music was by daughter, Becky McConnell, Richard ‘Cowboy” Boyd and Larry Fierce. Background music was by Bill Hohlt, Paul Wilson, Butch Durham, Roy DeJournett and Jack Poitras. Standing guard was the rendezvous family. Closing the service was the firing squad of the rendezvous group and taps by Jack Poitras. Joe Milton Riling, Sr. Joe Milton Riling, Sr. was born on Tuesday, March 17, 1936 in Higgins, Texas to Milton Oliver Riling and Ruby Lee Thomas Riling. He passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2008 in Missouri Baptist Hospital, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of 72 years, 8 months, and 1 day. Joe served his country honorably in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He married Patricia Merle Tomlinson on August 12, 1955 in Hawthorne, Nevada and to this union three children were born. Joe worked as a dental technician before retiring and at one time was the Vice President of the Dental Laboratory Association of Central California. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cuba, Missouri. His hobbies were fishing, camping, and researching genealogy. His family was very special to him, especially his grandchildren. He was a regular morning breakfast patron of Cuba McDonalds. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brother-in-law, Donald Lane; sister-in-law, Nina Fisher and granddaughter, Emerald Starr Lee. (Sheckles) Vincent on August 27, 1938 in Burkesville, Kentucky and passed away Thursday, November 20, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 23 days. Jackie was united marriage to Charles Dempsey Wells in Cumberland, Kentucky on January 4, 1955 and to this union three children were born. Jackie was a homemaker and enjoyed quilting, bowling, gardening, playing a game of horseshoes and softball. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Roger E. Wells; two brothers, Junior and Joe Vincent; three sisters, Ethel and Mary Vincent and Etha Lewis; one granddaughter, Candice White and other relatives.
