Myla Delberta Chapel Myla Delberta Chapel of Dillard, Missouri, formerly of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, was born November 5, 1922 in Torrington, Wyoming to Edward Howard and Florence Belle Brayton Nolan and passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the age of 92 years. She was united in marriage to Gaylord Fredrick Chapel. During WWII, Myla worked at the train depot in the San Diego, California telegraph office. In later years, she helped her husband with his construction business, however she spent most of her life loving and caring for her family especially "Dewey" her Down's Syndrome child. She was a member of the Christian Science Church in Albuquerque. In her earlier years, she enjoyed hunting, fishing and baking. She also loved to read and finding unusual rocks. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Florence Nolan; her husband, Gaylord Chapel; two sons, Gay Warren "Dewey" Chapel and Benjamin Howard Chapel; one daughter, Gayla Nolene Chapel; one brother, Willis James Nolan; and two sisters, Helen Mae Clark and Alice Kathleen Thompson. Dorothy worked as a cook in the school cafeteria of New Life Assembly of God in Wrightstown, New Jersey and in schools in the Rolla, Missouri School District. She was an animal lover, supporting local animal shelters, and often took in self-rescued animals. She cherished her service to the Lord serving as a Sunday school teacher, Christian women's group president, and faithful member of New Life Assembly and Calvary Assembly of God of Rolla. Nina Giles Reed Nina Giles Reed was born May 8, 1924 at Neosho, Missouri to Paul and Minnie (nee Richards) Giles and passed away on Friday, November 21, 2014 at the age of 90 years. She was raised on the family farm in Racine, Missouri. She spent most of her adult life in Neosho, Missouri. When keeping her home got to be too much for her, she moved to Cuba, Missouri to be closer to her son George. Nina graduated from Neosho High School in 1943 and went to work during WWII at Camp Crowder in Neosho in the finance department. Also during WWII, she had the grand adventure of moving to Washington, D.C. to work in finance to help the war effort. On June 2, 1946, she married Joseph Ben Reed and to this union one son was born. Over the years in Neosho, Nina worked as a secretary in law offices, at Beck's Florist, in a health food store and did clerical work in the local hospital. Nina enjoyed going to lunch with friends, working in the yard and arranging flowers. In later years while working at the health store, she liked reading about various herbs and usually had a suggestion of what herb would help what ailed you. She spent time visiting with her brothers, sisters and her father who still lived in Racine in a self-built log cabin. The family would plan reunion picnic on his 80acres. She periodically traveled to the state of Oregon to visit her mother, a sister and brothers who lived there. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Minnie Giles; her sisters, Virginia Grasher and Alice Giles; brothers, Arthur, Frank, Edward, Joe and Jimmy. She went to St. Louis during WWII at the age of 17, where she spent the remainder of her life. After her retirement in 1992, she dedicated her life to serving America's military heroes as an active member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 186 and VFW Auxiliary Unit 1102, where she was a lifetime member. Grace was a past-president of the Leichleiter & Variants genealogical society. Dale Woodruff Dale Woodruff of Columbia, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born June 22, 1925 at Oak Hill, Missouri to Henry and Pearl (nee Underwood) Woodruff and passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2014 at the age of 89 years. Dale served in the United States Army, during World War II, from April 30, 1946 till May 13, 1947. Dale was united in marriage to Wanda Miller on June 2, 1949 at Cuba, Missouri and to this union two children were born. Dale retired from Echo Supply in 1987 after 43 years. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church from 1958 until they moved to Columbia in 2002. After moving to Columbia they became members of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in 2008. Dale served on the Cuba Fire Department during the 1950's and 1960's. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and was always teasing the people he loved the most. One of Dale's greatest moments in life was when he met Roy Acuff at the Grand Ole Opry. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Pearl Woodruff; 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Woodruff of Columbia, Missouri, one daughter, Bev Skyles of Columbia, Missouri; one son, Paul and wife JoAnne Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas; six grandchildren, Dorrie and husband Shane Corbett of Cuba, Missouri, Brian and wife Erin Skyles of Durango, Colorado, Emilee Skyles and fiancˇe Dana Osorno of Durango, Colorado, David and wife Stephanie Woodruff of Durango, Colorado, Raquel Woodruff of Shawnee Mission, Kansas and Ryan and wife Sarah Woodruff of Wichita, Kansas; four great grandchildren, Micah and Jacob Corbett of Cuba, Mason Woodruff and Ezra Skyles of Durango, Colorado; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Joseph Frana officiating. Special music was "When the Roll Is Called Up Yonder" sang by John Craig accompanied by Joyce Bailey, "The Great Speckled Bird" by Ryan Woodruff and "Go Rest High On That Mountain." Pallbearers were Brian Skyles, David Woodruff, Ryan Woodruff, Micah Corbett, Jacob Corbett, Shane Corbett and Leland Skyles. Interment, prayers and full military honors followed at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri. Arrangements under the direction of the Mizell Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri. Carol Yanskey Carol Yanskey of St. James, Missouri was born on January 21, 1945 in St. Louis, Missouri to Frances and Virginia Gutermoth Yanskey and passed away Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the age of 69 years, 9 months and 7 days. She was a retired teacher and taught school all of her life in Cuba, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances and Virginia Gutermoth Yanskey; and one brother. She is survived by two special friends, Dennis and Susan Shockley of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Cremation with burial at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church Cemetery.
