Paul Samuel Barnicle
Paul Samuel Barnicle of St. James, Missouri was born January 27, 1944 in
Columbia, Missouri, the only child of Lee Roy and Pearl J. (Jones) Barnicle
and passed away at his home Saturday, November 17, 2007 at the age of 63
years, 9 months and 21 days.
On June 11, 1966 at the First Baptist Church in St. James, Missouri he was
united in marriage to Judith Eileen Lamar Barnicle.
Paul grew up on a dairy farm in Steelville, Missouri. He graduated from
Steelville High School in 1962. He worked most of his life as a carpenter and
was retired in 1993. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. James,
Missouri for over 40 years, where he served as a Sunday school teacher and the
bus ministry. He was also involved in the Boys Town Ministry there and worked
with the youth.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife: son, Jeffrey Paul Barnicle and Crystal Conaway of
Steelville; daughter, Rebecca Sue Hodges and David Matthews of Charlestown,
Indiana; nine grandchildren, Tanya Lynn, Abbi Nichole, Tylor Wayne, Heylea
Alexandria, Brooke Eileen and Paige Ann Barnicle, Samuel Dale and Brian
Christopher Hodges and Levi Matthews; two great grandchildren, Elijah Barnicle
and Angel Anna Rutz.
Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 19, 2007 at the Jones Funeral Home
in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Jones
Funeral Home, St. James, Missouri with Brother Jerry Baumann officiating.
Music was provided by Steven Brubaker, vocalist and Janet Ashley, organist.
Pallbearers were Tom Miller, Maurice Williams, Tylor Barnicle, Samuel Hodges,
Don Macormic and Charles West. Burial was in the family plot at the Goodall
Cemetery near Jerome, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Jones Funeral Home, St. James,
Missouri.
Ruth Brummet
Ruth Brummet of Cuba, Missouri formerly of St. Louis, Missouri was born to the
union of John and Mary (Bongartz) Altman on Thursday, August 1, 1935 in
St. Louis, Missouri and passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at her home
in Indian Hills at the age of 72 years, 3 months and 20 days.
Ruth was united in marriage to Bill D. Brummet on October 3, 1953 in St. Louis,
Missouri and to this union three children were born.
She retired from the YMCA as the Latch Key Coordinator and she also worked for
several Day Care Centers in St. Louis, Missouri. After moving to Indian Hills
in Cuba she worked for St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Rolla as a Teachers
Aide. She was a parishioner at Holy Cross Catholic Church and was a member of
the Indian Hills Garden Club. Her hobbies included planting flowers, gardening,
fishing and square dancing.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one half brother, Louis Kannaka.
She is survived by her husband, Bill D. Brummet; two sons, Gary and wife
Kristal Brummet of Grove, Oklahoma and Larry Brummet of Hazelwood, Missouri;
one daughter, Janine and husband Doug Mallory of Cuba, Missouri; five
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, brother and sisters-in-law,
nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held Friday, November 23, 2007 from 5-8 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Saturday, November 24, 2007 at 10 a.m. Mass of Christian
Burial at Holy Cross Catholic Church with Rev. James Finder, officiating.
Pallbearers were Larry and Gary Brummet, Jim Potts, Greg Sundwall, Doug Mallory,
Mack Rodman, Carl J. Christiano and Rick Myer.
Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
Christel Doyen
Christel Doyen passed away November 25, 2007.
A celebration of her life was at 10 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at James &
Gahr Mortuary, Rolla, Missouri. An Ascend-abration service in celebration of
Christel’s life was at 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, November 27, 2007 at the James &
Gahr in Rolla, Missouri. Followed immediately by a private interment.
Arrangements were under the direction of the James & Gahr Mortuary in Rolla,
Missouri.
Anna Bylo Hall
Anna Bylo Hall of Jefferson City, Missouri, was born September 28, 1911 in Wood
River, Illinois, a daughter of Andrew and Mary Dymyda Bylo and she passed away
Sunday, November 4, 2007 at the Westphalia Retirement Center at the age of 96
years.
On January 4, 1936 in St. Louis, Missouri, she was united in marriage to Raymond
Grant Hall, who preceded her in death on May 26, 1992.
She was a member of the Cathedral of St. Joseph Parish, a 13-year volunteer at
Villa Marie. She was a 30-year breast cancer survivor. She remained active in
the Relay for Life events and enjoyed helping out in fund-raising barbecues by
making her delicious cole slaw.
Anna was better known and affectionately called “Nana” by her many grandchildren
and great grandchildren. It didn’t matter whether they were stationed overseas
or whether they were able to personally visit at the family get togethers, she
always loved and will be remembered for fixing them a “special cookie care
package.”
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and eight siblings.
She is survived by three sons, Raymond G. Hall of Sullivan, Missouri, Bob Hall
of Jefferson City, Missouri and Michael Hall of St. Louis, Missouri; three
daughters, Marilyn Diebold of St. Louis, Missouri, Jo Ann Bayless of Cuba,
Missouri and Janet Sealock of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Mary Bohley of
St. Louis, Missouri; 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
A celebration of life was celebrated from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday,
November 21, 2007 at the Houser-Millard Funeral Home, Jefferson City, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Houser-Millard Funeral Home,
Jefferson City, Missouri.
Sophia Fern Hedrick
Sophia “Fern” Hedrick of Steelville, Missouri was born March 3, 1920 in Crawford
County, Missouri to Isaac and Margaret (Fitzwater) Ransom and passed away
Monday, November 19, 2007 at Gibbs Care Center at the age of 87 years.
On March 16, 1940 she was united in marriage to Cecil Hedrick who preceded her
in death on October 12, 1981.
Fern worked at Brown Shoe Company in Steelville, Missouri for 32 years. During
the years that her health permitted, she loved to travel, sew, quilt and work
on crossword puzzles. She was a charter member of the Assembly of God Church in
Steelville, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and one grandson, Nathan
Hedrick.
She is survived by two sons, Don and wife Janet Hedrick and Jerry Hedrick, all
of Steelville, Missouri; one brother, Herbert Ransom of Steelville, Missouri;
one sister, Vetta and husband Eldon Dunlap of Steelville, Missouri; four
grandchildren, Kim Wood of Steelville, Missouri, Tammy Good and husband Greg of
Kansas, Richard Hedrick and wife Mary of Florida, Tracey Crosby and husband
Scott of Kansas; seven great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; other
relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 25, 2007 at the Britton-
Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
Special music of “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Wind Beneath Your Wings” were
played. Special memories were shared by granddaughter, Kim Wood.
Serving as casketbearers were Grant Wood, Matt Lee, Danny Wallis, Andrew Wallis,
Brad Bouse, Bob Becker, Randy Bell and Allen Laws. Committal prayer and burial
were in the Steelville Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
Herman Donald Hughes
Herman Donald Hughes of Cuba, Missouri was born on Tuesday, May 10, 1921 in
Cuba, Missouri to Fred William Hughes and Hazel Fern McDonald Hughes. He passed
away at the Sullivan Hospital on Monday, November 19, 2007 at the age of 86
years, 6 months and 9 days.
Herman served his country honorably in the United States Army during WWII. He
married Elena Moore on March 9, 1945 and to this union Linda was born. He then
also was father to Norma and Shirley. Elena passed away October 19, 2000. He
married Betty Mae Beezley Pasch on October 10, 1961 in Harrison, Arkansas.
Herman worked many years as a heavy equipment operator for Crawford County
Road District. He loved to hunt, fish and work on tractors.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Betty Hughes; brother, Raymond
Hughes; sisters, Edith Callahan and Ruby (Russ) Beatt; son, Donald H. Pasch;
two grandchildren, Donna Sue and Donald Eugene Pasch.
He is survived by his children, Linda Hughes of Nashville, Tennessee, JoAnna
(Steve) Bach, Steven A. Pasch, all of Cuba, Missouri, Floyd N. Pasch of
Farmington, Missouri, John N. (Nancy) Pasch of St. Peters, Missouri, Norma
(Orville) Oldfather of Owensville, Missouri and Shirley (John) Weber of Cuba,
Missouri; brother-in-law, Cordell Callahan of St. James, Missouri; sisters-in-
law, Juanita Hughes of Cuba, Missouri and Irene Seener of Afton, Missouri; 18
grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; nine great great grandchildren; nieces,
nephews and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 20, 2007 from 5-9 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at 1 p.m. at the Hutson Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri with Pastor Ron Gadberry officiating. Burial at the Oak
Ridge Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri with full military honors.
Pallbearers were Steven W., Michael, David and Adam Pasch, Butch Sellers and
Terry Sellers.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba,
Missouri.
Randy Craig Petty
Randy Craig Petty of St. James, Missouri was born on July 17, 1956 in St. Louis,
Missouri and passed away Friday, November 23, 2007 in Cuba, Missouri at the age
of 51 years, 4 months and 6 days.
Randy worked in the Carpentry Field prior to becoming disabled. In his younger
years he played baseball, bowled and enjoyed a game of pool. He more recently
enjoyed fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Clarence E. Petty and his grandparents.
He is survived by his mother, Dorothy M. and step-father, Kent C. Kimbrel of
Cuba, Missouri; two daughters, Amy Lynn Young of St. Charles, Missouri and
Nicole Marie Clark of Pensacola, Florida; one sister, Pamela Sue and husband
Robert Larson of Cuba, Missouri; one step-brother, Richard and wife Karen
Kimbrel of Oak Hill, Missouri; three step-sisters, Deborah and husband Bill
Harmon of Cuba, Missouri, Sharon and husband Reggie Gillispi of Pontotoc,
Mississippi and Barbara Wilhelm of DeSoto, Missouri; one grandson, Demitris;
aunts and uncles, Robert and wife Diane Fahr of St. Charles, Missouri, Mitzi
and husband James Petty of Cuba, Missouri, Harvey Petty of Warrenton, Missouri
and Dorothy Wurtz of St. Charles, Missouri; one niece, Hollie and husband James
Hicks of Sullivan, Missouri; two nephews, Michael Farmer of St. Charles,
Missouri and Jeffrey Farmer of Arnold, Missouri; great nieces and great nephews.
Visitation was held Monday, November 26, 2007 from 1-4 p.m. at Britton Funeral
Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral was Monday, November 26, 2007 at 4:00 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home with
Rev. Jeff Schanbacher officiating.
Interment Private, at the Kinder Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Earl David Wear
Earl David Wear of St. Peters, Missouri, formerly of Cook Station, Missouri was
born on Wednesday, July 18, 1928 in St. Louis, Missouri to Otto Sylvester Wear
and Minerva Wear. He passed away on Friday, November 16, 2007 at the age of 79
years, 3 months and 29 days.
Earl married Clara Sparks Wear on April 22, 1986. He worked as a carpenter in
commercial buildings while living in St. Louis, Missouri. His hobbies were
bowling, hunting, fishing, canoeing, shuffleboard and playing washers. He
played softball in many leagues, pitching until he was 74. He was a member of
the Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Lemay, Missouri and also a member of the
Steelville Country Club the last nine years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and son, Wayne Wear.
He is survived by his children, Allan (Cindy) Wear of St. Peters, Missouri,
David Wear of High Ridge, Missouri, Barry (Erin) Wear of Fenton, Missouri,
Earlene (Kevin) Derousse of St. Genevieve, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; two
great grandchildren; cousins and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, November 18, 2007 from 3-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was Monday, November 19, 2007 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Delmar
Hutson officiating. Burial at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Steelville, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Allan Wear, Jeff Wear, Tony Wear, Matt Wear, Dave Wear, Kevin
Derousse and Russ Alcamo.
Arrangements were under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri.
Larry Eugene Weber
Larry Eugene Weber of Cuba, Missouri was born Tuesday, October 3, 1950 at
Sullivan, Missouri to the union of Harold Weber and Juanita May (nee Sohn)
Weber and passed away Thursday, November 22, 2007 at Cuba, Missouri at the
age of 57 Years, 1 month and 19 days.
Larry was a laborer most of his life, working at Aerofil Technology in
Sullivan, Missouri, Interstate Regional Stockyards in Cuba, Missouri, sold
vacuums and did many other jobs through out his life time, but what he
enjoyed most in life was his family, watching the sun set and his Mom’s home
cooking.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harold Weber and other family
members and friends.
He is survived by his mom of Cuba, Missouri; three children, Shannon, Laurie
and Deanna; two brothers, Jerry and Terry Weber of Cuba, Missouri; three
sisters, Wanda and husband Jack Hite of Springfield, Missouri, Connie Weber
of Cuba, Missouri and Christa Evanoff of Columbia, Missouri; niece, nephews,
cousins and friends.
In keeping with Larry’s wishes all services were private and under the
direction of Britton Funeral Home of Cuba, Missouri.
Walter Elliott Wood
Walter Elliott Wood, 93, of Steelville, Missouri, formerly of Florissant,
Missouri was born May 11, 1914 to Richard R. and Anna Nerva (Henslee) Wood
and he passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at the Cedar Crest Nursing Home
in Washington, Missouri.
On February 14, 1940 he was united in marriage to Mary Ann (Mayberry) Wood.
Walter was retired from the Time DC Trucking Co. after 35 years. He enjoyed
making birdhouses, watching birds, the St. Louis Cardinals and listening to
music. He attended the Church of Christ in Florissant, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Bud Wood, Fred Wood
and Hyle Wood.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Gary Wood and wife Anne of Manchester,
MA, Philip Wood of Woodacre, California; two sisters, Rosella Skaggs of
Berryman, Missouri and Pauline Smith of Steelville, Missouri; one sister-in-
law, Alice Wood of Berryman, Missouri; three grandchildren, Daniel, Geoffrey,
and Caroline; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 24, 2007 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. George Civey
officiating.
Special music of “Wildwood Flower” was played by members of the Wood family.
Other special music of “I Know Who Holds Tomorrow,” was sang by Anne Wood,
accompanied on guitar by Gary Wood. “What a Friend” was sang by the
congregation and closing song of “Irish Blessing” was sang and written by Gary
Wood. Special memories were shared by Gary Wood, Melody Buehrle, Rosie Helm
and Walter Jr. Mayberry.
Serving as casketbearers were Geoffrey Wood, Daniel Wood, Allan Wood, Winford
Wood, Mike Buehrle and Clyde Helm. Committal prayer and burial were in the Sam
Crocker Cemetery at Goodland, Missouri.
Arrangements were under the directions of the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home of
Steelville, Missouri.
