Troy Cecil Barks

Troy Cecil Barks of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born
on Tuesday, February 20, 1934 in Burbank, Missouri to Roy Cecil Barks and
Emma Adeline Crites Barks. He passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2008 at
the age of 74 years, 9 months, and 2 days.
Troy married Ruby Maxine Riley on September 1, 1978 in St. Charles, Missouri.
He was a former employee of Kroger Grocery operating a forklift. His hobbies
were fishing, camping, and traveling throughout the United States. He was a
member of the First Baptist Church, Cuba, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Johnson; and sister,
Norma Collins.
He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Gary (Heather) Barks of
Greenville, Missouri, Donald (Nancy) Barks of Richmond, Virginia, Faye (Jim)
Bollinger of Ballwin, Missouri, Roy Barks and friend John Noonan of
St. Charles, Missouri and Kenneth Barks of Ballwin, Missouri; step children,
Katherine (John) Baumann of Cuba, Missouri, and Rickey Walter and friend
Dennis Welch of Florissant, Missouri; brother Bobby (Melba) Barks of
Sullivan, Missouri; sister, Carrie Vavak of St. Louis, Missouri; son-in-law,
Darell Johnson of Fredericktown, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Donna (John)
Montana of Fox Lake, Illinois and Carol (Forrest) Neagles of St. James,
Missouri; 15 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was Monday, November 24, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home,
Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was Tuesday, November 25, 2008; 11 a.m. at
Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Spencer Hutson and Chaplain
Raymond Doussard officiating. Burial at North Lawn Cemetery, Salem, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.



Louis Edwin Dicus

Louis “Louie” Edwin Dicus of Steelville, Missouri was born on Thursday,
June 19, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri to Fred William Dicus and Hazel Ruth
Humphrey Dicus. He passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the age of
67 years, 5 months, and 1 day.
Louie married Judy Asher on November 12, 1960 in Cherryville, Missouri and
to this union three children were born.
He and Judy lived in the St. Louis area for several years before moving back
home to the Steelville area; where he owned and operated Lou’s Carpet service
before retiring. He was a member of the NRA. His hobbies were bowling,
shooting pool, hunting, fishing, camping, playing horseshoes and the washer
game. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He attended the
Coffee Community Church near his home as a child. He was preceded in death
by his parents; brother, Richard Dicus; brothers-in-law, Melvin Cox and Elmer
Jones, Jerry McMillen, Ronnie, Johnny, and Billy Asher, Eric Buck Parrott,
and sister, Shirley Louise Solis Parrott.
He is survived by his wife of the home; children, Danny (Cindy) Dicus, Angela
(Keith) Sanders, and Brenda (fiance David McClain) Dicus, all of Steelville,
Missouri; brothers and sisters, Kenny (Teri) Dicus of Dale, Indiana, Judy
(Gene) Whittaker, Carol Watson, Linda Dicus, Gerald Dicus and Debbie (Guy)
Smith, all of Steelville, Missouri, Bill Dicus and Tim (Rita) Dicus, all of
Cuba, Missouri, Jack (Debbie) Dicus of Bourbon, Missouri, Allen Dicus of Wesco,
Missouri, and Peggy (Elmer) Gregory of St. James, Missouri; brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law, Fritz (Ann) Asher of Owensville, Missouri, Bob (Wanda)
Asher and Randy (Amy) Asher all of Cherryville, Missouri, Bonnie Jones,
Lindel Asher and Karen (Rob) Sikes all of Steelville, Missouri, Wanda McMillen
of Texas, Shirley Asher of Cape Fair, Missouri, Tina Asher of Ozark Missouri,
Linda (Bill) Dodd and Cathy (Brian) Tucker, all of Cuba, Missouri; 11
grandchildren, Shana (Jeremy) King, Derek (Ashlee) Dicus, Kaleb and Kara Dicus,
Elizabeth Rench, Ben (Kerrie) Sanders, Tyler Sanders, Brent and Kleigh McClain,
Kaytlin and Hunter Rivera; seven great grandchildren, Trenton and Landon King,
Madeline and Margorie Rench, Ayrianna, Violet, and Zedekiah Sanders; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Saturday, November 22, 2008 from 6-8 p.m. and funeral
service Sunday, November 23, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home, Steelville,
Missouri with Rev. Delmar Hutson officiating.

Missouri.



Noel H. Eaton

Noel H. Eaton of Patterson, Missouri was born in Crawford County, Missouri
on August 21, 1931 and passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the John
Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 77 years.
He was a truck driver and operated the Eaton Pallet Mill at Silva for many
years. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955.
He was a member of the Sure Foundation United Pentecostal Church in Greenville,
Missouri. He was a member of the NRA, DAV and the Cattleman’s Association.
He is survived by his companion, Toni Fliter, Patterson, Missouri; three
daughters, Lea Ann Halleman of Florissant, Missouri, Belinda Sue Heath of
Ft. Wayne, Indiana and Carla Jean Donald of Florissant, Missouri; two
brothers, Norman Eaton of Cherryville, Missouri and Garland Eaton of
Cherryville, Missouri; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Visitation was Monday, December 1, 2008 from 5-7 p.m. at the Morrison-Worley
Funeral Chapel in Greenville, Missouri.
Funeral services were Monday, December 1, 2008 at 7 p.m. at the chapel with
Rev. John Radford officiating.
A graveside service was held at noon Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at the
Cherryville Baptist Church Cemetery at Cherryville, Missouri. Graveside
honors were provided by the Missouri Honor Guard.

Piedmont, Missouri.



Lucille C. Hill

Lucille C. Hill, nee Evans, of Cuba, Missouri was born on Monday,
June 21, 1926 in Potosi, Missouri to Gerome Evans and Katherine Obermark
Evans. She passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the age
of 82 years, 5 months and 6 days.
Lucille married Clinton James Hill on October 4, 1974 in Berryman, Missouri.
She was a member of the Leasburg Assembly of God Church. Before retirement,
she worked as a certified nursing assistant at Briarwood Nursing Home, Cuba,
Missouri. Her hobbies were making jelly, cooking, with her specialties being
fruit salad and banana split cake. She also enjoyed working in her yard with
her plants and flowers. She loved to travel with her husband and most of all
spending time with her family and grandkids whom she loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, Christopher
Ettinger, brothers, Lehman Evans and Eldon Evans; and sister, Lila Hunter.
She is survived by her children, John Koch of Cuba, Missouri (Donna Marquart)
of Washington, Missouri and Kathy (Ettinger) Campbell and husband Greg of Cuba,
Missouri; stepchildren, Bob (Deloris) Hill of Union, Missouri, Dorothy Huff
of Washington, Missouri, Margaret (Ken) Summers and Barbara (Wayne) Ware,
all of Bourbon, Missouri, Linda (Dale) Jones of Steelville, Missouri, Norma
(Roger) Parker of Sullivan, Missouri, and Joyce (Raymond) Tucker of
Robertsville, Missouri; brother, Ellis (Ardell) Evans of Steelville, Missouri,
sisters, Eileen Pratt of Colorado, and Erma (Leon) Sellers of Imperial, MO;
brother-in-law, Elgie (Ruth) Hill of Cuba, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Betty
Hill of Festus, Missouri and Eunice Hill of Rolla, Missouri; grandchildren,
Tip (Denise) Ettinger, Tim (Lisa) Ettinger, and Jessica Sharp; great
grandchildren Kylie, Kody, Jake, Jessi, and Jonathan Ettinger, and Aaliyah
Sharp; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was Sunday, November 30, 2008 from 4-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home,
Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was Monday, December 1, 2008 at 10:30 a.m.
at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Donald Vaughn officiating.
Burial at Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.

Sylvia Mattlein Jost

Sylvia Mattlein Jost of Owensville, Missouri was born in Jakes Prairie on
October 18, 1918, to Jacob and Clara (Creek) Licklider and she passed away
Thursday, November 27 2008 at her residence at the age of 90 years.
On March 14, 1936 in Cuba, Missouri she was united in marriage to
James F. Jost.
She was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, JoAnn Blackwell; three
brothers, Herman, Lester and Chester Licklider; and four sisters, Alleine
Conley, Ola Licklider in infancy, Iretta Spurgeon and Lucille Dunakey.
She is survived by her children, James Jost of Cuba, Missouri, Frank Jost
and wife Sally of Owensville, Missouri, Jane Libhart and husband Don of Cuba,
Missouri, Janet Lampert and husband Phillip of Jefferson City, Missouri and
Willa Dean Happel of Bland, Missouri, who was caretaker for her mother since
1996; brothers, Ira Licklider and wife Bernice of Belle, Missouri and Leroy
Licklider and wife June of Hazelwood, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, 10 great
grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, November 30, 2008 at 1 p.m. at the
Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Leo Roberson
officiating.
Burial in the Countryside Memorial Gardens, Owensville, Missouri.
All arrangements under the direction of the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home,
Owensville, Missouri.



Betty Jo Price

Betty Jo Price of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1928 in
Perry, Oklahoma to William Wendell Price and Dorothy Dick Clark Price. She
passed away in St. James, Missouri on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the age
of 80 years, 3 months and 8 days.
Betty graduated from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing and worked as a
registered nurse at the hospital for 30 years. She moved to Cuba in 1972
where she made her home. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church
and active in the Missionettes, and Methodist quilters. She also was a member
of the Golden Mariners. Her hobbies were bowling, quilting, and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Donald Pierce Fox;
life partner, Betty King; and nephew, Don Fox.
She is survived by her brothers, Chester (Dee) Fox of St. James, Missouri,
and Jerry W. (Donna) Fox of DeKalb, Mississippi; special nieces and nephew,
Jamie Fox of Joplin, Missouri, Ashley (Michael) Wells of St. James, Missouri,
Lisa (Steve) Surbrook of Great Lakes, Illinois, and Jerry Fox, Jr. of
Pensacola, Florida; cousins, and friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, November 25, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at Hutson Funeral Home,
Cuba, Missouri. Funeral service was Wednesday, November 26, 2008 at 11 a.m.
at Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri with Rev. Paul Lathum officiating.
All arrangements under the direction of Hutson Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.



Robert Lee Sooter

Robert Lee Sooter, of Rolla, Missouri, was born July 13, 1939 in Rolla,
Missouri to Dorsie V. Sooter and Eunice E. (Riddle) Sooter and passed away
Monday, November 24, 2008 at the age of 69.
On December 30, 1961, he married Sharon Barnett who survives of the home.
To this union, three daughters were born.
Robert was baptized on March 31, 1953 at the First Baptist Church of Dixon,
Missouri. He graduated from the Dixon High School in 1957. Robert was a
veteran of the United States Air Force having served from 1957-1961. He then
worked for Kroger in Data Processing in St. Louis, Missouri before returning
to the Rolla/Dixon area as a general contractor for 36 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Eunice Esther
Sooter in 1938.
He is survived by his wife of Rolla, Missouri; three daughters, Traci Sooter
of Springfield, Missouri; Dana Booker and husband James of Cuba, Missouri and
Robyn Sooter of Rolla, Missouri; one brother, Dean Sooter and wife Dorothy of
Rolla, Missouri; two sisters, Georgia Beydler and husband Bill of Springfield,
Missouri and Barbara Wessner and husband John of Rolla, Missouri; five
grandchildren, Chelsea Elizabeth, Sara Kay, Rachael Ann, Thomas James and
Samuel Dane and his mother-in-law, Blanche Barnett.
Visitation was Friday, November 28, 2008 from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
A Masonic service was conducted at 6:30 p.m.
Funeral service was at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 29, 2008 at the Null and
Son Funeral Home of Rolla.  Rev. Brandon McCombs officiated.
Interment with military honors followed at the Dixon City Cemetery.
All arrangements were under the direction of the Null and Son Funeral Home of
Rolla, Missouri.



James Pierre VanBeers

James Pierre VanBeers of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Pierre Gene
and Agatha (Wagner) VanBeers on January 17, 1910 in Maplewood, Missouri and
passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 98
years, 10 months and 7 days.
James was united in marriage to Louise F. Kreichelt on September 7, 1934 in
East St. Louis, Illinois and to this union one daughter was born.
James retired after many years of owning and operating the Clark Oil Station
in Maplewood, Missouri. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church
and was a self taught piano player in which he enjoyed entertaining others.
He also enjoyed bowling, playing a game of pool, watching baseball and
spending time with his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother, Walter VanBeers;
other relatives and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Joan Alyne Bisesi of Fenton, Missouri; one
grandson, Glenn James Wilson of Festus, Missouri; one great grandson, James
Bell of St. Louis, Missouri.
Visitation was held Saturday, November 29, 2008 from 1-2 p.m. at Britton
Funeral Home, Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral was Saturday, November 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at Britton Funeral Home
with Pastor Paul Lathum, officiating.
Interment in Meramec Hills Cemetery, Cuba, Missouri.
Arrangements under the direction of the Britton Funeral Home of Cuba,
Missouri.
