Louis Edwin Dicus Louis “Louie” Edwin Dicus of Steelville, Missouri was born on Thursday, June 19, 1941 in Steelville, Missouri to Fred William Dicus and Hazel Ruth Humphrey Dicus. He passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2008 at the age of 67 years, 5 months, and 1 day. Louie married Judy Asher on November 12, 1960 in Cherryville, Missouri and to this union three children were born. He and Judy lived in the St. Louis area for several years before moving back home to the Steelville area; where he owned and operated Lou’s Carpet service before retiring. He was a member of the NRA. His hobbies were bowling, shooting pool, hunting, fishing, camping, playing horseshoes and the washer game. He had a great sense of humor and loved to tease. He attended the Coffee Community Church near his home as a child. Eaton of Patterson, Missouri was born in Crawford County, Missouri on August 21, 1931 and passed away Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the John Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri at the age of 77 years. He was a truck driver and operated the Eaton Pallet Mill at Silva for many years. He was a Korean War veteran, serving in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He was a member of the Sure Foundation United Pentecostal Church in Greenville, Missouri. He was a member of the NRA, DAV and the Cattleman’s Association. He is survived by his companion, Toni Fliter, Patterson, Missouri; three daughters, Lea Ann Halleman of Florissant, Missouri, Belinda Sue Heath of Ft. She passed away suddenly on Thursday, November 27, 2008 at the age of 82 years, 5 months and 6 days. Lucille married Clinton James Hill on October 4, 1974 in Berryman, Missouri. She was a member of the Leasburg Assembly of God Church. Before retirement, she worked as a certified nursing assistant at Briarwood Nursing Home, Cuba, Missouri. Her hobbies were making jelly, cooking, with her specialties being fruit salad and banana split cake. She also enjoyed working in her yard with her plants and flowers. Betty Jo Price Betty Jo Price of Cuba, Missouri was born on Wednesday, August 15, 1928 in Perry, Oklahoma to William Wendell Price and Dorothy Dick Clark Price. She passed away in St. James, Missouri on Sunday, November 23, 2008 at the age of 80 years, 3 months and 8 days. Betty graduated from Missouri Baptist School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at the hospital for 30 years. She moved to Cuba in 1972 where she made her home. She was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and active in the Missionettes, and Methodist quilters. She also was a member of the Golden Mariners. Her hobbies were bowling, quilting, and knitting. She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Donald Pierce Fox; life partner, Betty King; and nephew, Don Fox. Sooter and Eunice E. (Riddle) Sooter and passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 at the age of 69. On December 30, 1961, he married Sharon Barnett who survives of the home. To this union, three daughters were born. Robert was baptized on March 31, 1953 at the First Baptist Church of Dixon, Missouri. He graduated from the Dixon High School in 1957. Robert was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served from 1957-1961. He then worked for Kroger in Data Processing in St. Louis, Missouri before returning to the Rolla/Dixon area as a general contractor for 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; and an infant sister, Eunice Esther Sooter in 1938. He is survived by his wife of Rolla, Missouri; three daughters, Traci Sooter of Springfield, Missouri; Dana Booker and husband James of Cuba, Missouri and Robyn Sooter of Rolla, Missouri; one brother, Dean Sooter and wife Dorothy of Rolla, Missouri; two sisters, Georgia Beydler and husband Bill of Springfield, Missouri and Barbara Wessner and husband John of Rolla, Missouri; five grandchildren, Chelsea Elizabeth, Sara Kay, Rachael Ann, Thomas James and Samuel Dane and his mother-in-law, Blanche Barnett. James Pierre VanBeers James Pierre VanBeers of Cuba, Missouri was born to the union of Pierre Gene and Agatha (Wagner) VanBeers on January 17, 1910 in Maplewood, Missouri and passed away Monday, November 24, 2008 in Cuba, Missouri at the age of 98 years, 10 months and 7 days. James was united in marriage to Louise F. Kreichelt on September 7, 1934 in East St. Louis, Illinois and to this union one daughter was born. James retired after many years of owning and operating the Clark Oil Station in Maplewood, Missouri. He was a member of the Cuba United Methodist Church and was a self taught piano player in which he enjoyed entertaining others. He also enjoyed bowling, playing a game of pool, watching baseball and spending time with his friends.
