Carl enjoyed fishing, camping and hunting. He loved anything to do with the outdoors. Carl was employed at the U.S. Post Office in Rolla, Misouri for over 20 years. He was a Navy WWII veteran. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his first wife, Maxine (Duncan) Berry in 1990; and a son, Stanley Berry in 2011. Charles William Buchanan Charles William Buchanan of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Wednesday, October 29, 1947 in Salem, Indiana to Noble R. and Margaret E. (nee Tincher) Buchanan and passed away on Sunday, November 24, 2019 at the age of 72 years. Charles married Nora Aldridge on June 13, 1967 in El Monte, California. Charles honorably served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was awarded the National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of Cuba Memorial Post # 522 A.L. Charles was a "Jack of All Trades." He could just about fix anything, from being a carpenter to a mechanic. He retired as the Maintenance Supervisor at Meramec State Park. He enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was hiking, fishing, mushroom hunting or taking care of the wildlife. Martha was employed at Brown Shoe Company and in Healthcare for a number of years, but mainly serving as a pastor in various churches in Stonefort, Illinois and areas in Missouri. She had attended Center Ridge Pentecostal Church for a few years before her health declined. She was born a server of the Lord who was always there to help others such as taking them to their doctors or however she could assist. Martha's mission was to spread God's word wherever she was. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Edith Duvall; four brothers, Lowell, Harold, James and Bill Duvall; and one sister, Bessie Duvall. Clarid was a member of the United Steel Workers Union, Local #6242. He was employed several years for St. Joe/Doe Run Company and retired in 2002. He had a passion for raising hogs and did so with the influence from his father who did the same. He later in life starting raising cattle as a hobby. As a young man, he enjoyed playing baseball and eventually coached little league. In his spare time he also enjoyed fishing, playing checkers. Donna Kay Davis Harper Donna Kay (nee Blanton) Davis Harper was born September 30, 1952 to Roy and Julia (Harman) Blanton in Sullivan, Missouri and passed away on Thursday, November 28, 2019 at the age of 67 years, 1 month and 29 days. Donna married Phillip Alan Davis on December 20, 1969 in her home church at Liberty, just outside of Steelville, Missouri. In July 1971 Donna joined Phil in Germany for one year while he completed his tour serving in the U.S. Army. They returned to Steelville, Missouri to make their permanent home. In 1979 Phil and Donna started Davis Feed Service, where they worked side by side for 15 years until they sold in 1994. On September 20, 1995, Phil suddenly passed away. They were marred for over 25 years. On January 2, 1998, Donna was united in marriage to Charles Harper. When he retired, they enjoyed a few years of traveling. Donna was able to return to visit Germany, as well as seeing Austria, Canada, Alaska and Israel. Probably her favorite memory of these travels was being baptized in the Jordan River. Donna enjoyed gardening, crocheting, collecting and reading books along with doing jigsaw puzzles. She had a big heart and enjoyed giving to multiple charities. In his younger years, he attended Vo-tech an earned a certificate in HVAC. He was two classes short of having an associate degree in auto mechanics. He was employed at Aerofil Technology and he worked in the blending department. Paul had been a member of the "Cross of Calvary" singers when he was young and he currently was a member of the "Scarred Nation" band as guitarist and singer. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals baseball, Kansas City Chief's football and the St. Louis Blue hockey. He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Norma loved working in her garden, especially growing roses and irises. She enjoyed bowling with her friends on a bowling league and giving hugs to all. "Cran" Spindler of Sullivan, Missouri was born on February 14, 1928 in Sullivan, Missouri to Walter and Sarah (Reeves) Spindler and passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 91 years. He honorably served his country in the United States Army at the end of World War II. Cran went to work at the former International Shoe Company where he met a young lady by the name of Norma Jean Pounds. They were married on June 11, 1949 in Union, Missouri. Cran and Norma celebrated 67 years of marriage together before Norma passed away in 2017. Cran went to work for Ramsey Corporation as a young man and remained there until he retired in 1990. He served his community as a volunteer Fireman for over 50 years, and was known for his famous "fish frying" skills. He was also a dedicated member of New Testament Baptist Church, where he was delighted to provide ice cream to all of the children. Cran enjoyed woodworking, making washer boxes, collecting cans and walnuts throughout town. He also loved his truck and took excellent care of his vehicles. He married Carolyn Smotherman in Red Bud, Illinois in April of 1960. Merle graduated from Fairview High School in Jennings, Missouri. He was employed at May Rose Packing Company in St. Louis, Missouri for 14 years and later was a mail carrier out of the U.S. Post Office in Cuba, Missouri retiring in the year 2000. Merle was also a fishing guide on the lower Meramec River. He was a past deacon at the Jennings Presbyterian Church. Merle was one of the founding members of the first Optimist Club in Steelville, Missouri, which now is the Steelville Country Club. He and his wife Carolyn enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S. and internationally. He loved playing softball and did so for 50 years even playing in the Senior Show-Me games when he was in his 60's. Merle was an avid St. Louis Cardinal fan. He loved watching his grandchildren play sports. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Cordelia Stichnote. Calvin Monroe Studdard Calvin Monroe Studdard of Sullivan, Missouri was born on February 1, 1958 in Cuba, Missouri to Harold and Nellie Loraine (Gruver) Studdard and passed away Monday, November 25, 2019 at the age of 61 years. He married Sharon Harris on August 15, 1981. Calvin was known as a jack of all trades who could fix anything. He worked at various jobs, including a sawyer, mechanic, handyman, fence builder and lawncare man. Calvin was a Pea Ridge country boy who loved the outdoors and didn't really belong in the modern world. He enjoyed deer, squirrel and mushroom hunting, catfishing, gardening and digging roots. Calvin passed away just four days after his mother, Nellie. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Nellie Studdard. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Studdard; two children, Clarisa Hulsey and husband Aron of Sullivan, Missouri and Crista Parker and husband Ronald of Sullivan, Missouri; seven grandchildren, Christian, Scarlett, Crimson, Samuel, Sydney, Aribella and Asher; four brothers, Harold Studdard Jr. and friend Diana of Sullivan, Missouri, Herman Studdard and wife Mary of Sullivan, Missouri, Roger Studdard and wife Vickie of Sullivan, Missouri and Randy Studdard and wife Kathy of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; his beloved Chihuahua, Sophie; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. Graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Hill Cemetery in Bourbon, Missouri officiated by Pastor Leroy Wiese. Nellie Loraine Stoddard Nellie Loraine Studdard of Sullivan, Missouri was born on March 30, 1934 in Fanning, Missouri to Herman and Bessie (Pyatt) Gruver and passed away Thursday, November 21, 2019 at the age of 85 years. She attended school in Cuba, Missouri. Nellie married Harold E. Studdard on November 20, 1954. Nellie enjoyed cooking for the holidays. Chicken and Dumplings was her specialty. In her free time, Nellie enjoyed quilting and putting puzzles together. Nellie was of the Pentecostal faith and had professed her faith in Christ and was a devoted Christian. She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Studdard; her parents, Herman and Bessie Gruver; two brothers, Herman Gruver and James Gruver; and two brothers-in-law, Bill Lause and Granville Rayle. She is survived by her children, Harold Studdard Jr. and friend Diana of Sullivan, Missouri, Herman Studdard and wife Mary of Sullivan, Missouri, Calvin Studdard of Sullivan, Missouri, Roger Studdard and wife Vickie of Sullivan, Missouri and Randy Studdard and wife Kathy of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; 14 grandchildren, Matthew Studdard, Sarah Simmons, Amanda Thacker, Laurel Studdard, James Studdard, Joseph Studdard, Angie Crady, Clarisa Hulsey, Crista Parker, Roger Studdard Jr., Donald Studdard, Ryan Studdard, Michael Bauer and Russell Webery; 22 great grandchildren, Connor, Deagen, Caitlyn, Cameron, Garrett, Gabriel, Gavin, Max, Easton, Christian, Scarlett, Crimson, Samuel, Sydney, Aribella, Asher, Dylan, Jade, Paul, Allie, Mylie and Lane; one brother, Jack Gruver and wife Sharon of Cuba, Missouri; four sisters, Louise Lause of Cuba, Missouri, Arlene Rayle of DeSoto, Missouri, Betty Hutchison and husband Leroy of Cuba, Missouri and Shirley Gruver of DeSoto, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Sue Gruver and Verna Gruver, both of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends. Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri. Interment followed in the Reedville Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
