Randy Dean Asher
Randy Dean Asher of Cherryville, Missouri was born December 24, 1958
in Steelville, Missouri to William and Hazel Worley Asher and passed
away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the age of 54 years, 11 months and
10 days.
In 1984 at Steelville, Missouri he was married to Amy Hawthorne.
Randy worked for 33 years installing flooring and carpeting at his
business, Asher’s Flooring, and presently worked at Meramec Electric
in Cuba. He was president of the Cherryville Ammo Club.
He enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and working with wood. He was
considered a “master of all trades”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Hazel Asher;
three brothers, Billy, Johnny and Ronald Asher; one sister, Louise
Solis; and brothers-in-law Louis Dicus and Melvin Cox.
He is survived by his wife, Amy Asher of Cherryville, Missouri; two
sons, Josh Asher and wife Diona of Cherryville, Missouri and Jacob
Asher and fianceé Emily Lada of Steelville, Missouri; and one
daughter, Jessica Conaway and husband Scott of Steelville, Missouri;
two brothers, Robert Asher and wife Wanda of Cherryville, Missouri
and Fritz Asher and wife Ann of Belle, Missouri; seven sisters, Bonnie
Jones, Judy Dicus, Karen Sikes and husband Rob, all of Steelville,
Missouri, Wanda McMillen Silsbee, Texas, Tina Asher of Springfield,
Missouri, Linda Dodd and husband Bill of Cuba, Missouri and Cathy
Tucker and husband Brian of Salem, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Lindel
Asher, Linda Hawthorne and Donna Hawthorne all of Steelville, Missouri
and Audrey Simpson and husband Earnie of Imperial, Missouri; 10
grandchildren, Justus, Jewel, Jorja and Jasper Conaway, Kirsten and
Seth Webb, Rhyleigh, Isabella, Clara and Emma Asher; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2013
at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with
Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of “How Do I Live,”
“That’s My Job,” “Drink a Beer” and “Spirit in the Sky” was played.
Special memories were shared by Scott Conaway.

Geraldine “Gerry” E. Bouckaert
Geraldine “Gerry” E. Bouckaert of Sullivan, Missouri, formerly of
Bourbon, Missouri, was born February 16, 1926 at Brazil Creek,
Missouri to Henry and Gladys (nee Kimberlin) Merkel and passed away
Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Sullivan, Missouri at the age of
87 years.
Gerry was united in marriage to William “Bill” Bouckaert on
August 18, 1951 at Bourbon, Missouri and to this union one son was
born.
Gerry worked as a cashier for the I.G.A. Store in Bourbon in her
younger years. She then worked for the City of Bourbon as an
assistant clerk and she spent many years helping at the Christian
Thrift Store in Bourbon. Gerry was a member of the Lady’s VFW of
Sullivan Auxiliary and was part of the Lutheran Ladies Aide. She
enjoyed baking, cooking, working in the yard, quilting and crocheting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Gladys Merkel;
husband, William “Bill” Bouckaert; one sister, Marlene Asher.
She is survived by her son, David and wife Tonya Bouckaert of Spring
Bluff, Missouri; five grandchildren, Dustin King, Derek King, William
Bouckaert, Betsy and husband Sam Sykes and Jett Bouckaert; five great
grandchildren, Molli, Luke, Maddie, Piper and Emilia; two brothers,
Curtis and Forest Merkel; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 3-6 p.m. at the
Concordia Lutheran Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at
the Concordia Lutheran Church, Bourbon, Missouri with Pastor Joe
Pederson officiating. Special music was played by Karen Ivie.
Interment and prayers followed at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Bourbon,
Missouri.

Richard Lynn Eckert, Jr.
Richard Lynn Eckert, Jr. of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Newburg,
Missouri on October 26, 1969 to Richard Lynn Eckert, Sr. and Linda
Mae Eckert (nee Tayloe) and passed away in Washington, Missouri on
December 2, 2013 at the age of 44 years, 1 month and 6 days.
As a young man he was united in marriage and blessed to have three
children. Ten years ago he began sharing his life with Christine
Dawn Love. They were united in marriage on June 7, 2013, and their
families were joined as one.
Richard was a Christian of the Baptist faith and believed in the
Lord as his Savior. He was employed by Par-Way Tryson Company in
St. Clair, Missouri, working in the packaging department and also
as a forklift operator. Richard had a variety of interests
throughout his life; including playing cards and watching
television.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Eckert.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Eckert of St. Clair, Missouri;
his children, Alecia Allen and husband Joshua of Sullivan, Missouri,
Judy Eckert and boyfriend Nathan of St. James, Missouri and Kimberly
Eckert of St. James, Missouri; step-children, Jessica Perkins and
Jonathan Perkins, both of St. Clair, Missouri; grandchildren, JayLynn
White of St. Clair, Missouri, Brayden Johnson of Sullivan, Missouri,
Maggie Allen of Sullivan, Missouri and expected baby girl Perkins of
St. Clair, Missouri; father, Richard Eckert, Sr. of Jerome, Missouri;
brother, Thomas Eckert and wife Barb of Sullivan, Missouri; sisters,
Carolyn Ross and husband Brian of Rolla, Missouri and Sandra Tidd
and husband Glen of West Lafayette, Ohio; parents-in-law, Walter and

The Rock Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor Leroy officiating.

Mildred “Nadine” Ferguson of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday,
June 6, 1937 in Manila, Arkansas to Charles Holland and Thelma
Elizabeth Cook McCoy and passed away on Friday, December 6, 2013
at the Meramec Nursing Center, Sullivan, Missouri at the age of
76 years and 6 months.
Nadine married Jacob Oscar Ferguson on October 9, 1960 in St. Louis,
Missouri.
She enjoyed gardening, cooking and especially reading cookbooks.
Taking care of her family was very important to her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Thelma
McCoy; husband, Jacob Ferguson; brother, Lynn McCoy and sister,
Dathel Ferguson.
She is survived by her children, Jackie Spanglo of Cuba, Missouri,
Megan (Andrew) Courtois of Sullivan, Missouri, Charles (Mae)
Ferguson of Cuba, Missouri, Jacob (Katrina) Travis of St. Louis,
Missouri, Joseph Ferguson of Fenton, Missouri and Lorri Ferguson of

Dolorece M. Gibson
Dolorece M. Gibson, nee Britton, of Pacific, Missouri was born to
John L. and Allie (Wilkinson) Britton on Monday, October 2, 1922 in
Huzzah, Missouri and passed away Monday, December 2, 2013 at the
age of 91 years.
Dolorece was united in marriage to Edgar Freeman Gibson on
March 29, 1942 at Belgrade, Missouri and to this union four children
were born.
Dolorece spent several years as the Business Manager for the City
of St. Louis Circuit Court Juvenile Division. She enjoyed being a
minister’s wife, traveling with and being her husband’s assistant at
church and wherever needed. Together they spent 27 years devoted to
the Zion Baptist Church in South St. Louis County. In her spare time
she enjoyed fishing, gardening, tending to her fruit trees and
canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Allie Britton;
husband, Rev. Edgar Freeman Gibson; one son, Kenneth Gibson; two
sisters, Marie Darst and Beulah Akers; one brother, Alfred Britton;
son-in-law, Dave Fulmer; brothers-in-law, Harry Darst, Charlie Akers,
George Richeson, Louie Asher, Cletis Homer Gibson and sister-in-law,
Sue Gibson.
She is survived by her three children, Phyllis K. Fulmer of Benton,
Arkansas, Wayne L. and wife Marsha Gibson of Lenexa, Kansas,
Judith A. and husband Dr. Charles Curtman of Pacific, Missouri;
one daughter-in-law, Donna Gibson of O’Fallon, Illinois; two sisters,
Opal and husband Joe Wilkerson of Potosi, Missouri, Erma and husband
Dr. Jack Holley of O’Fallon, Missouri; two brothers, John T. and
wife Ava Britton and Donald and wife Madeline Britton, all of Cuba,

Cornerstone Baptist Church in Wildwood, Missouri with Dr. Charles
Curtman, officiating.
Interment and prayers followed at 3 p.m. at the Redbud Memorial
Gardens Cemetery, Potosi, Missouri.
Pallbearers were Denton Fulmer, Andy Gibson, Darren Gibson, Matthew
Fox, Jason Curtman, Zach Curtman and Paul Curtman.

Bethany (Poole) Godwin
Bethany (Poole) Godwin was born July 6, 1977 in Newport, Arkansas to
Eugene and Sandra (Sturch) Poole and passed away Tuesday,
December 3, 2013 at her home in Portageville, Missouri at the age
of 36 years, 4 months and 27 days.
She was a member of the Assembly of God Church in Portageville where
she was raised and guided by her father, Rev. Eugene Poole.
She was a 1995 graduate of Portageville High School and she
received a Bachelor Degree from Southeast Missouri State University.
She was employed with the Boys & Girls Town in St. James, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Wilson and Ellen
Sturch and Edward and Opal Poole.
She is survived by her parents, Rev. Eugene and Sandra Poole of
Portageville, Missouri; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fonda and
Yancey Temple of Cuba, Missouri and Cassie and Gary Cook of New
Madrid, Missouri; brother and sister-in-law, Austin and Rejhuan
Poole of Naples, Florida; four nieces, Hillary Temple, Alicia
Cook, Kylie Cook and Kamryn Cook; three nephews, Parker Temple,
Trae Cook and Landon Poole; special friend, Larry Sharp and his
three daughters, Brittany, Emma and Teddy; her beloved pets: her

Judy Ann Treis
Judy Ann Treis nee Lorsbach of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Friday,
August 30, 1929 in Hardin, Illinois to John and Lucille Dean Lorsbach
and passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the age of 84 years,
3 months and 5 days.
Judy was a paralegal in St. Louis, Missouri for a few years.
She married Arthur E. Treis on June 5, 1951 at the St. James Church
in St. Louis, Missouri and to this union eight children were born.
She worked for more than 20 years at the Medichs Restaurant in
St. Louis, Missouri as a cook. Her hobbies were quilting, sewing,
gardening, canning, working crossword puzzles and playing Bingo.
She also, was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals ball team.
She was preceded in death by her parents,John and Lucille Lorsbach;
brothers, Jack Lorsbach, Bill (Sue) Lorsbach and Bob Lorsbach;
grandsons, Eric Treis, Timothy Mayhall and Nick Treis.
She is survived by her children, Ricki (Ed) Mayhall of Luebbering,
Missouri, Vicki (Jerry) Cagle of Reno, Nevada, John (Margaret) Treis
of Minisee, California, Curt (Caren) Treis of Leasburg, Missouri,

Dorma Lee Tumey
Dorma Lee Tumey of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Rolla, Missouri
on February 18, 1940 to Dorman Lee and Lavina Christina Bryant
(nee Lunn) and passed away in Washington, Missouri on
December 1, 2013 at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 13 days.
As a young woman she was united in marriage and blessed to have five
children.
On April 13, 1983, she was united in marriage to Ronald Douglas
Tumey and he loved her children as his own.
Dorma was a devoted Christian and currently a member of the First
Assembly of God Church in St. Clair, Missouri. She was ordained as
a minister some five years ago in Missouri and had been an ordained
minister in the state of Illinois for many years. Dorma had a
variety of interests throughout her life; including sewing and
crocheting. She was also an avid reader and loved to go camping.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dorman and Lavina Bryant;
and by one grandson, Blaine Coverdell.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Tumey of St. Clair, Missouri;
her children, Kenneth Coverdell and wife Adele of Edgar Springs,
Missouri, Rev. Paul Coverdell and wife Lana of Rolla, Missouri,
Christopher Coverdell and wife Christina of Cuba, Missouri, Lavina
“Tina” Hohner and husband Tom of Edgar Springs, Missouri and Marvin
Coverdell and wife Trina of Edgar Springs, Missouri; brother,
Kenneth Bryant of Caseyville, Illinois; brother-in-law, Dennis
Tumey of Roseburg, Oregon; 10 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren;

at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri with
her son, the Rev. Paul Coverdell officiating.

Donald Joseph Roy Sr.
Donald Joseph Roy Sr. of St. James, Missouri was born
November 15, 1940 in Salem, Massachusetts to Leo and Lauretta Dubois
Roy and passed away November 28, 2013 at the age of 73 years
and 15 days.
He married Mary Darlene Ellis in 1973 at Orlando, Florida.
Donald served his country in the United States Navy from 1959 to
1964 as a Commandant.
Donald was a professional chef and he managed many restaurants in
Louisiana and Florida. While managing a restaurant in Louisiana, a
young lady named Mary worked for him and she soon became his wife of
40 years.
Donald and Mary moved to Tallahassee, Florida. They lived there most
of their life where Donald managed and cooked at many Florida
Restaurants. Later in life he managed the front desk at a Sheriff’s
Office in Florida. He loved to watch TV and drink his morning coffee.
Donald suffered from lung cancer and they decided to move to
St. James, Missouri to be close to their son and daughter-in-law,
Pastor Allen and Katheryn Smith. They had made St. James their new
home only a few days before he became suddenly ill and passed away.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leo and Lauretta Roy; and
several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Roy of St. James, Missouri; sons,
Donald J. Roy Jr. and wife Tami of Alfred, Florida, Robert Leroy
Roy and wife Dianne of Minneola, Florida, Pastor Allen Smith and
wife Kathryn of St. James, Missouri; two daughters, Cathy Turnbow
and husband Roy of Monroe, Louisiana and Lisa Ritter and husband
William of Rossville, Georgia; 12 grandchildren; many great grand-
children; several great great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation was Tuesday, December 3, 2013 from 6-8 p.m. at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was conducted at 10 a.m. on Wednesday
December 4, 2013 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri
with Pastor Allen Smith Officiating.
Burial with full military honors was at the St. James Cemetery.

St. James, Missouri.
Mable Inaree Shackleford
Mable Inaree Shackleford of Rolla, Missouri was born on
December 10, 1923 in Lane Springs, Missouri to Charles and Anna
(Voss) McDowell and passed away Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at the
age of 89 years.
Mable was the consummate “Grandma” or “MaMa” Shack, and never
failed to inquire about the grandbabies, and “the bigger ones” as
she referred to the adult grandchildren.
As recently as last month, she remembered to send birthday cards.
A devoted Cardinals fan, she could often be found in her favorite
chair watching a game.
Often referred to as “Miss Mable,” she was loved and respected by
old and young alike.
she was also preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Anna
McDowell; four sisters, Nancy, Ellen, Ethel and Pauline; three
brothers, William, Cecil and Charles; one son, Robert Charles;
a granddaughter, Janell Lambert and a son-in-law, Rodney Lough.
She is survived by five sons, Kenneth Woolsey of Freeport, Texas,
Richard Shackleford and wife Maddie of St. Robert, Missouri, Gary
Shackleford of Denver, Colorado, Gerald Shackleford of St. Louis,
Missouri and Vernon Shackleford of Rolla, Missouri; five daughters,
Betty Reynolds of Henderson, Kentucky, Donna Lough of St. James,
Missouri, Debbie Funk and husband Bob of Rolla, Missouri, Sandra
McKendrick of Rolla, Missouri and Brenda Birdsong and special friend
Kenny Forester of Newburg, Missouri; grandchildren, Teresa Woolsey,
Connie Foley, Angie Koole, Chrissy Woolsey, Rhonda Green, Andrew,
Daniel and Kayleigh Lough, Scott and Lindsay McKendrick, Steven and
Matthew Birdsong, Christopher Shackleford and Heather Light; a host
of great grandchildren including special boys Brody and Cooper Light;

at the Null and Son Funeral Home of Rolla, Missouri.
Interment followed in the Rolla City Cemetery.

Naomi Mae West
Naomi Mae West of St. James, Missouri was born on January 1, 1945 to
Arthur and Della (Herron) Potts at Belle, Missouri and passed away on
Monday, December 2, 2013 at the Phelps County Regional Medical Center
in Rolla, Missouri at the age of 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Della Potts;
brothers, Floyd “Bud”, Paul, Donald and Lloyd Potts and one sister,
Ruth Kinsey.
She is survived by nieces, Brenda Wilson and husband Sam of Belle,
Missouri and Pam Roher of Bland, Missouri; nephews, David Potts and
wife Robin of St. Louis, Missouri, Sam Potts and wife Reta of Vichy,
Missouri and Andy McGlenn and wife Marcia; sister-in-law, Jessie
Potts of Belle, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was at 1 p.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Jones
Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Graveside services were conducted at 2 p.m., Wednesday,
December 4, 2013 at the High Gate County Cemetery in rural St. James,
Missouri with Rusty Otis officiating.
