She grew up and attended school in various places, including Bourbon, Missouri, Hawaii and Kentucky. Melynda graduated from Fort Knox High School in 1994. She was mother to her two children, Kevin and Kendrianna. Melynda obtained her Associates Degree in Medical Assisting from Metro Business College in Rolla, Missouri. She lived and worked in the Bourbon and Sullivan, Missouri area for most of her life. Over the years, she was employed at McDonald's, Walmart and most recently, manager at Dollar General in Sullivan, Missouri. In 2016 Melynda became ill and was diagnosed with kidney disease and fought a tough battle through the past few years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, playing boardgames, doing her nails and hanging out with friends. She was also fond of owls, dragon flies and music. Melynda was known for her sarcastic sense of humor. She will be missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Larry Hopwood; and her grandparents, Ken and Betty Holt and Herbert and Virginia Hopwood. Butch, as he was known by, married Carol Faye Wells on April 22, 1967 at Cantwell, Missouri. Butch worked as a diesel mechanic for 40 years. During his career he worked for Brown Shoe in St. Louis, Missouri, Willette Truck Service in Sullivan, Missouri, Rolla Equipment and Wonder Bread in St. Clair, Missouri. Butch bowled for 68 years and his all-time high score was 234. He spent hours doing work and taking care of his garden every spring and summer. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, wood working and auto mechanics. He grew up and attended grade school in Mountain Grove, Missouri, but attended high school in Sacramento, California, graduating in 1965. Robert moved back to Missouri and met Joyce Nethington. They were married on December 28, 1968. Robert was a true mechanic and loved anything that had to do with engines. He spent many years working at Meramec Industries and Ditch Witch, until retiring in 2008. Robert truly enjoyed the outdoors. His faith became the foundation of his life in his later years w hen he and Joyce became members of New Testament Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Arvin A. Minnie married Robert Crider on July 1, 1949 at Cuba, Missouri. Minnie spent her life taking care of her home and family. For a few years, she worked at a restaurant and the school cafeteria. Minnie loved reading her bible daily. She was a devout member of the C-Highway Full Gospel Church, Bourbon, Missouri until her health began to decline. She spent hours taking care of her plants and she could grew a beautiful orange plant in Missouri. The past several years, she enjoyed not cooking and going out to eat. He attended Wainwright Public Schools and Northeaster State University in Tahleguah, Oklahoma with a degree in teaching. He taught 43 years in Gasconade County R-3/Maries County R-2 Schools in Bland/Belle, Missouri. He also worked 20 years for Kingsford Charcoal in Belle. After retiring from Kingsford he went to work for Mace Supermarket in Belle, Missouri and he managed apartments for Maco Management as well. Carl earned the nickname "Buck" as he was always actively involved in various fundraisers to make money for school activities or people in need. He loved to play bingo, go to the casino and participate in the outings. Carl loved fishing and was known for his chili. Dorothy Marie Hutson Dorothy Marie Hutson (nee Pinnell) of Steelville, Missouri was born on October 7, 1927 to James Lloyd and Grace Clementine (Coleman) Pinnell and passed away on Friday, December 6, 2019 at the age of 92 years, 1 month and 29 days. As a child, Dorothy loved playing with her brother and three sisters on their family farm. She grew up in a loving Christian home and accepted Christ as her Savior as a young adult. After graduating from Steelville High School in 1945, Dorothy moved to St. Louis, Missouri to work as a bookkeeper at Edison Brothers Shoe Co. In 1952 she decided to move back to Steelville, Missouri to work as a bookkeeper for Earl's Chevrolet. That May, a teacher (who sold cars in the summer) stole her heart with his dark wavy hair, dimpled smile and constant teasing in the office. Dorothy married Delmar Hutson on September 8, 1952 being nearly 62 years of marriage until Delmar's death. In November of 1952 the newlyweds bought a shoe store in downtown Steelville, Missouri. They expanded their business to include clothes for all ages, fabric, sewing notions and tuxedo rentals, and Dorothy's love for people, eye for style and savvy business-sense made Hutson Department Store a success for 36 years. Dorothy also served as a pastor's wife, as Delmar served as pastor at Cross Roads Baptist Church in Leasburg, Missouri for 14 years and Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri for 30 years. She taught Sunday School and served as church organist the majority of their marriage. After closing the department store, Dorothy and Delmar started Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville and Cuba, Missouri with their sons in 1989. Dorothy managed the books up into her 80's and could be seen every day in the office greeting families with a smile and a comforting word until the last couple months of her life. Barbara Lee Ray Barbara Lee Ray (nee Clonts) of Leasburg, Missouri was born on Saturday, February 14, 1931 in Berryman, Missouri to Bert Leeverty and Hattie Alice (Wisdom) Clonts and passed away on Wednesday, November 27, 2019 at the age of 88 years, 9 months and 13 days. Barbara accepted the Lord early in life and attended the Assembly of God Church in Leasburg, Missouri. She married Clark Edwin Ray on May 21, 1950 in Berryman, Missouri. Barbara was a housewife but had also worked 12 years in homecare and eight years with Proctor. She liked tending to her small garden and canning. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery and quilting. She was preceded in death by her parents, Bert and Hattie Clonts; husband, Clark Edwin Ray; sons, Dennis Wayne Ray, Wendell Gene Ray and Mark Allen Ray; siblings, Raymond (Celia) Clonts, Bill (Darlene) Clonts, Esther Clonts and Mabel (Dr. Roy) Royce; brothers-in-law, Kenneth (Alice) Ray, Alvin (Marlene) Ray, Lawrence Ray, Bill Green, Joe Berryman, Fred Hopwood; and sisters-in-law, Ethel (Jesse) Harmon, Ruby (Fred) McCance and Betty Cox. She is survived by her sons, James (Paula) Ray and Randy (Joann) Ray, both of Leasburg, Missouri; brother, Ralph "Junior" Clonts of Licking, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hopwood of Bourbon, Missouri, Florence Ray of Springfield, Missouri and Ruth Ann Ray of Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Corey (Kim) Ray of St. James, Missouri, Casey Ray (fiancˇ Bill) of St. Louis, Missouri, Dennis Ray (girlfriend Ciera McCoy) of Springfield, Missouri and Melinda Brown (fiancˇ Brian Phipps) of Leasburg, Missouri; great grandchildren, Kyra and Corryn Ray, Ian Ray and Naya Brown; other relatives and friends. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri. Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Bro. Perry Lewis officiating.
