Edythe R. Chambers Barbarick
Edythe R. Chambers Barbarick, of Salem, Missouri, formerly of Rolla, was
born on January 3, 1920 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Ashby Earl Gatrell and
Fleta (Boring) Gatrell and passed away Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at the
age of 92 years.
On August 9, 1941, she married Jess Chambers who passed away on
August 30, 1979. Edythe then married Ralph Barbarick on March 19, 1982
and he preceded her in death on June 16, 1990.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ashby and Fleta Gatrell; two
husbands, Jess Chambers and Ralph Barbarick; daughter, Sharon Earl on
August 14, 1997; three brothers and one infant sister.
She is survived by three grandchildren, Michele Parker and husband Jim
of Salem, Missouri, Pat Earl and wife Sara of Salem, Missouri and
Melissa Grayson and husband Paul of St. James, Missouri; five great
grandchildren, Clayton Parker, Lyndsey Parker, Evan Grayson, Alison Earl
and Nathan Earl; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was conducted prior to the service beginning at 11 a.m. at
the Null and Son Funeral Home.
A graveside service was conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012
at the Macedonia Cemetery in Rolla with Rev. Bob Johnston officiating.

Linda Sue Bauwens
Linda Sue Bauwens of Steelville, Missouri was born January 4, 1945 at
St. Louis, Missouri to Clyde and Maude (Jenkins) Snodgras and passed away
at Barnes-Jewish Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri on Saturday,
December 1, 2012 at the age of 67 years, 10 months and 27 days.
She was raised in the House Springs area, later graduating from high
school there. Later in life, Linda received and Associate of Arts Degree
from Jefferson Community College in Bookkeeping.
On May 25, 1963 she was united in marriage to Raymond Bauwens at the
Church of God in House Springs and to this marriage two children were
born.
Linda’s vocation in life was that of a dedicated wife and mother, grand-
mother and friend to all. She was known as a joker who loved to have fun
and had a great sense of humor. She cared about others and would always
help people in need. Linda enjoyed reading and was an avid fan of Conway
Twitty.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ken and Deanna Bauwens of
Auburn Hill, Michigan; one daughter, Ronda Bauwens of Blue Springs,
Missouri; brother, Dave Snodgras of Ballwin, Missouri; sister, Irene
Pinkston of Marmaduke, Arkansas; three grandchildren, Amanda and Nathan
Bauwens and Tim Robbins; a special friend of the family, Pam Ulrey of
Sullivan, Missouri; godchildren, Mike and Mindy Durbin; other relatives
and friends.
Memorial funeral services were conducted at 7 p.m. on Thursday,
December 6, 2012 from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan,
Missouri with Pastor Jerry Beers officiating.

James Edward Brown
James Edward Brown of Magalia, California was born on January 30, 1959
in Steelville, Missouri to Stanley Clifford and Anna Mae Pounds Brown
and passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 in Steelville, Missouri
at the age of 53 years, 10 months and 5 days.
James was a plumber working in commercial new construction. His hobbies
were fishing, woodworking, and shooting pool.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Anna Brown;
sister-in-law, Edith Cornick and brother-in-law, Ward Finney.
He is survived by his sons, James Eric Brown and Brian Scott Brown;
daughter, Julie Ann Brown-Flanagan, all of Paradise, California; brothers,
Dave Cornick, Tom (Charlene) Brown and Jerry (Cay) Brown, all of
Steelville, Missouri, John (Debby) Brown of Cuba, Missouri and Stanley
(Pat) Brown of Ranchester, Wyoming; sisters, Ruth Finney of Foley,
Missouri, Betty (Roger) Brown of Sullivan, Missouri, Mary (C.R.) Reeves
of Cuba, Missouri and Barbara (Richard) Pitts of Steelville, Missouri;
aunt, Lucille Shadwick of Nixa, Missouri; other relatives and friends.

Marie A. Davis
Marie A. Davis of Bourbon, Missouri was born January 16, 1923 at Bourbon,
Missouri on the Friesenhan Dairy Farm where she was born and raised and
passed away at Dunsford Court Assisted Living in Sullivan, Missouri on
Sunday, December 2, 2012 at the age of 89 years, 10 months and 16 days.
On February 7, 1948 she was united in marriage to James J. Davis, Jr. in
St. Louis, Missouri at Saint Stephan Lutheran Church.
Jim was a career Air Force Master Sergeant and Marie and he lived in
various places in Japan and Taiwan, as well as at many Air forces Bases
in the United States.
Marie became a government career employee in the Administrative Secretarial
field and worked at all of the military bases where they were stationed.
Marie has spent the last nine years of her Civil Service career employed in
Bourbon, Missouri. She was the office manager for the Corps of Engineers
Real Estate Division who was, at that time, purchasing land for the proposed
Meramec Dam Project. When the project was closed in 1978, she retired from
Civil Service. However, Marie was not content with 100% retirement so she
entered the Real Estate profession and earned her Broker-Associate license
and sold real estate part-time.
She and her twin sister lived next door to each other and were constant
companions more than sisters; wearing identical clothes and glasses well
into their 80’s. Even in the sunset years of her life, Marie had a yearning
desire to learn about the latest technology. She was always using her
computer or discovering the uses of her cell phone. Marie was a member of
Concordia Lutheran Church of Bourbon, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jim; a son, Craig Davis;
and three sisters, Helen Merkel, Frances Voss and Catherine Schroeder.
She is survived by a son, Mike Davis of Brookline, Missouri; three sisters,
her twin Marge Killian of Bourbon, Missouri, Pauline Harris of Sullivan,
Missouri and Rose Bindner of Troy, Missouri; four grandchildren; other
relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. until time of service on Friday,
December 7, 2012 at the funeral home.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 1 p.m. from
the Eaton Funeral Chapel in Bourbon, Missouri with Pastor David Burge
officiating.
Interment was in the Hill Cemetery.

Ruby Mae Miller
Ruby Mae Miller of Steelville, Missouri was born on Saturday,
August 16, 1919 in Thayer, Missouri to William A. and Roma Letha Cross
Miller and passed away on Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Gibbs Manor,
Steelville, Missouri at the age of 93 years, 3 months and 19 days.
Ruby worked and retired as a supervisor clerk at the San Diego,
California County Welfare Department. She later made her home in
Cherryville, Missouri where she was a very active member of Cherryville
Baptist Church. She started the Women’s Missionary Union (WMU), taught a
Sunday School class, and played the organ and piano.
Ruby enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, quilting, knitting and working in
her vegetable and flower gardens. She was a wonderful mother and homemaker
who will be truly missed by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Roma Miller; brothers
and sisters, Cyrus (Linda) Miller, Ethel (Arnold) Theobald, Grace (Mike)
Brewer, Clair Miller, Florence Miller and Fred Miller; daughter, Letha
Roberts and son-in-law, Jerry Malin.
She is survived by her daughter, Shirley Malin of Robertsville, Missouri;
son-in-law, Melvin Roberts of Cherryville, Missouri; seven grandchildren;
several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; other relatives
and friends.
Visitation was Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 5-8 p.m. and funeral
service at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012 at Hutson Funeral Home,
Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Richard Martin officiating.
Burial was at the Cherryville Baptist Cemetery, Cherryville, Missouri.

Mildred Odessa Payne
Mildred Odessa Payne of Bourbon, Missouri, was born at Dyersburg, Tennessee
on December 15, 1925 to Finis and Georgia Lee (Pinckley) Robinson and
passed away at Life Care of Sullivan, Missouri on Friday, November 30, 2012
at the age of 86 years, 11 months and 15 days.
In 1945, she was united in marriage to Elwood Yates Payne at St. Louis,
Missouri and to this union four children were born.
The family made their home in the St. Louis; later moving to the Leasburg,
Missouri area. Having lost their home in a fire Mildred then made her home
in Bourbon. She was known as a devoted homemaker and caregiver. She also
enjoyed gardening and canning.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Finis and Georgia Robinson; her
husband, Elwood; and a brother, Charles Robinson.
She is survived by three sons, Larry Payne, Richard Payne and David Payne
and wife Judy, all of Bourbon, Missouri; one daughter, Linda Lee of Bourbon,
Missouri; a brother, Michael Robinson of Cuba, Missouri; and a sister,
Dorothy Payne of Crestview, Florida; 17 grandchildren; 28 great grand-
children; other relatives and friends.
Memorial funeral services were conducted on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at
2 p.m. from the Chapel of the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri
with Chaplin Mike Potter officiating.

Alice Prewett
Alice Prewett, of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Rolla, was born in
Stickney, Missouri on January 9, 1922 to Fred and Tina (Terwilligher)
McMinn and passed away Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at the age of
90 years.
On April 12, 1941 she married Dolphus C. Prewett.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Tina McMinn; and
three sisters, Lucy Spencer, Virgie Maxwell, and Margie Davis.
She is survived by her husband, Dolphus Prewett of Clinton, Missouri;
three children, Roger Prewett and wife Lucille of Clinton, Missouri,
Carolyn Blackwell and husband Charles of Cuba, Missouri, and Andrew Prewett
and friend Necia Hunt of Lincoln, Missouri; two brothers, Robert McMinn of
Vichy, Missouri and Clinton McMinn of Rolla, Missouri; two sisters, Mary
Blackwell of Rolla, Missouri and Nina Barks of California; four grand-
children, Chris Blackwell, Dwayne Blackwell, Steven Prewett, and Kim
Swope; six great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Funeral service was held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 10, 2012 at the
Null & Son Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis Light officiating.
Interment followed in the Ozark Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Edwin C. Schmidt
Edwin C. Schmidt of Sullivan, Missouri, was born, the oldest of 11
children, at Saint Louis, Missouri on May 7, 1942 to Tracy and Vivian
(Hill) Schmidt and passed away on Monday, December 3, 2012 at the age
of 70 years, 6 months and 26 days,
He had lived the majority of his life in the Sullivan area on the family
farm and was a graduate of Sullivan High School.
He honorably served his country with the U.S. Air Force attaining the
rank of Airman 1st Class.
Edwin was employed many years as a lineman and cable repairman for
Southwestern Bell. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting and fishing,
especially trout fishing with his buddies and rabbit and deer hunting.
He dearly loved his family and enjoyed socializing, dancing and music.
Edwin was a great friend to all and was a close friend to Gene Blankenship,
Bob Sappington, Don Hines, and Randy Bacon, Doug Schalk and Terry Bell.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Tracy and Vivian Schmidt; and a
sister, Christine Nutting.
He is survived by three sons, Edwin Schmidt, Jr. and wife Susan, Eric
Schmidt and wife Danna and Hunter Schmidt, all of Sullivan, Missouri;
three daughters, Vivian Dudley and husband Clifton of Sullivan, Missouri,
Carrie George and husband Timothy of St. Clair, Missouri and Alexis
Schmidt of Sullivan, Missouri; three brothers, Michael Schmidt and
special friend Debbie of Leslie, Missouri, Mark Schmidt and special
friend Margaret of Sullivan, Missouri, and David Schmidt and wife Jennifer
of Sullivan, Missouri; six sisters, Susan Heath and husband Bill of
Sullivan, Missouri, Ellen Brandt and husband Keith of Sullivan, Missouri,
Kathy Creek and husband Don of Leslie, Missouri, Mary Beth Sappington of
Sullivan, Missouri, Julie Shetley and husband Blaine of Sullivan, Missouri
and Francine Collins and husband Tom of Springfield, Missouri;
10 grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held Thursday, December 6, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. at the Eaton
Funeral Southside Chapel in Sullivan, Missouri.
Funeral services were conducted on Friday, December 7, 2012 at 10 a.m., from
the First Presbyterian Church in Sullivan, Missouri with James Eaton
officiating.
Interment with full military honors was held in Schmidt Cemetery, rural
Sullivan.

Mell Albert Scrivner
Mell Albert Scrivner was born February 23, 1925 in Truman, Arkansas, to
Robert and Lydia Scrivner and passed away on December 1, 2012, in Rolla,
Missouri at the age of 87 years.
On August 12, 1950, Mell was united in marriage to Marceline B. Housewright
of Steelville, Missouri. They enjoyed 53 years of marriage together until
her passing.
Mell was a career military man serving in the U.S. Marines and U.S. Army
retiring from the U.S. Air force December 1, 1970. Both he and Marceline
traveled the world together.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marceline B. Scrivner; one son,
Robert A. Scrivner; sister, Mary E. Reese; sisters-in-law, Rosalea
Greathouse and Kathleen Burch; and brothers-in-law, Robert G. Housewright
and Charles Lee Housewright.
She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Janice Scrivner of Arizona; nieces,
Barbara Crow of Florida, Paula Crews of Vichy, Missouri, Lillian Greathouse
of Charleston, Illinois, Denise Fogles and Lisa Brady and Kim Rickman, all
of Mechanicsville, Maryland; nephews, Paul Tinker of Seattle, Washington,
Jeffery Reese of California, Kenneth Parrett of Jefferson City, Missouri
, Kenneth Housewright of Mechanicsville, Maryland and Paul Greathouse of
Steelville, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 11 a.m. until service time on Friday, December 7, 2012,
at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
A funeral service was held at 1 p.m. on Friday, December 7, 2012, at the
Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri, with Rev. Dan Kemp
and Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of “How Great Thou Art”
and “Amazing Grace” was played and sung by Rev. Jerry Beers.
Committal prayer and interment were in the Steelville Cemetery. Full
military honors were given by the U.S. Air Force.
Casket bearers were John Williams, Tom Crews, Rob Housewright, Blake
Housewright, Wesley Greathouse, Charles Knapp and Kenneth Parrett.

Steelville, Missouri.
Betty Jean Taylor
Betty Jean Taylor passed away November 7, 2012 surrounded by her family.
Betty grew up in Yakima, Washington and Las Vegas, Nevada. She was working
as a stewardess for Bonanza Airlines when she met a young fighter pilot
named Bob through mutual friends and they fell head over heels in love.
Betty spent many years following Bob’s 24 assignments and raising their
three daughters.
She loved discovering new locations and making new lifelong friends at
every stop along the way. Betty volunteered for charitable causes at the
bases to which they were assigned and she was the consummate hostess and
commander’s wife in support of Bob’s military career.
Following Bob’s retirement, they settled in Tampa, Florida in their dream
home, ‘the tree house’. Betty enjoyed sailing, traveling, spending time
with family and friends and enjoyed watching college and professional
football games and golf. Betty always had a helping hand or a kind word
and was fiercely loyal to those she loved.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Louise and Ward Densmore and
her sister, Wardine Gagnibin, all of Las Vegas, Nevada.
She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Robert C Taylor
(Maj/ Gen, USAF, Ret); her three daughters and sons-in-law, Dawn and Bill
Sanders, (Col, USAF, Ret), Beverly and Sid Miles, Nancy and Stan Capps;
three grandsons, Scott Andrew Lawson and James Robert and Stephen Taylor
Miles; other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service was held in the Chapel at the Blount and
Curry Funeral Home, Tampa, Florida at 3 p.m. on November 30.
The family began receiving friends 30 minutes prior to the service.

Florida.
Irene Louise Voss
Irene Louise Voss of Owensville, Missouri was born in St. Louis on
November 19, 1927 to Frank and Louise (Kreutzer) Busen and passed away
Sunday, December 9, 2012 at Gasconade Manor Nursing Home in Owensville,
Missouri at the age of 85 years.
She was first married to Herbert Hinson in Owensville, Missouri and then
later to Francis Voss in Hermann, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Herbert Hinson and Francis Voss.
Her survivors include her children, Gary Hinson and Linda Hinson, both of
Cuba, Missouri, Terry Hinson and wife Laura and Mike Hinson and wife Cathy,
all of Owensville, Missouri; brothers, Leonard Busen of St. Louis, Missouri,
Eugene Busen and wife Dot of Florida and Raymond Busen and wife Kathy of
Maryland; nine grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 16, 2012
at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Memorial services will be held on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 1 p.m. at
the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri with Rev. Terry
Knight officiating.

Owensville, Missouri.
